Reviews of Chophouse New Orleans
Chophouse Nola has been on my list for years and I decided to take my mom for Sunday brunch. Great service! There were a few gnats flying around and that made our visit uncomfortable. The server told me about a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu. I can’t remember the name, but know that it was fantastic! The fried lobster, loaded baked potato and creamed spinach were delicious. The seafood platter was very filling. I’m not a soup person, but the crab bisque was amazing! I also loved that they portioned out the seafood platter among the guests. I wanted to get a picture of the full platter, but they moved so quickly to portion it out :-( Our steak was initially undercooked and sent back to cook longer. When we got it back, the inside was perfect but the outside was charred way too much. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience but I don’t think the food matched the cost. If we had paid less, I would have probably given 4 stars.
My family and I had a lovely time here for my birthday dinner. My steak was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tasty, and tender along with my delectable fried lobster tail 🦞 , creamed spinach, and huge onion rings. Our servings were definitely enough because we all ended up taking some food home.
I also enjoyed my little birthday cake. By the way if you want to bring your own cake, it is a fee.
Great smaller place for high class steaks. Server was good, the bus boy in the white shirts was amazing. Always made sure we had fresh bread and full waters. Steaks were cooked perfectly, the shrimp cocktail had the largest shrimp I've ever eaten. The steak fries shown in the picture was crunchy as well as had a perfect amount of soft potato inside. All in all a great restaurant for a special occasion.
Listen, go here. Go here, and ask for Joseph. Just do it. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. We're giving this an 11 out of 10 I don't usually do that. 100% of this experience was top notch. The ambience, the service, the food, just the sheer classiness of this place! I think the whole experience personally for me was made by our server, Joseph he was attentive and handsome and professional and informed. He was patient and explained the menu and would 100 percent be the reason I went back. The food itself was phenomenal. We split a tomahawk which was insane and had the sauteed mushrooms as a side and the crab claws as an appetizer which blew my mind! So good. There was someone playing music and I thought that was pretty cool since it was just a random Tuesday night. I highly recommend this experience.
Owe it to Essence Festival for findig this place. The idea was for seafood & that's exactly what we got! The staff here is very courteous & polite. I came here with 4 others walked from the convention center using GPS & every walk was well worth it. The restaurant didn't open until 4 pm, we arrived early & was told we needed reservation, ooh that was not what we wanted to here. However, after telling the lady we walked & was looking for something to eat, she was able to accommodate all 5 of us. Since we was early, we were able to wait in the adjacent hotel until they open which was another 15 minutes. Baby. Baby I tell you we ate so much that all of us was miserable, not to mention 3 of us had no breakfast nor lunch only peanuts & drinks all day. The prices are kind of steep but it is well worth it. The food was cook & presented via waiter in a great presentation. Seasoning for all dishes were on point & fresh. The drinks were awesome too. Just know this place will get a 2nd visit on my next trip in town. Thank you for getting this girl stomach full to the tee.
A classic steakhouse. We came into town on a Tuesday night not thinking much of our reservation but Claude the manager along with the flavor of our food made a statement. He was very attentive, professional and personable. My husband and I were very impressed at how he managed to go to every table and check to make sure every steak was cooked as ordered and to make sure our experience was excellent. A local gem highly recommended.
This is a quality dining experience! Simply put, everything was wonderful! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a celebratory dinner. The steak was perfectly cooked. I had the best baked potato I've ever had. The sides looked amazing. My boyfriend got the fries, which are like steak fries and the onion rings, which were huge! The lobster tails looked delicious as well. I highly recommend getting reservations in advance. Overall, this is a great dining choice.
Traveled from out of town for a business meeting here based off a suggestion and Chophouse didn't disappoint. Friday night I'm guessing is live music, but wasn't so loud we couldn't chat. Brandon our server made sure we had a great first experience and I'd recommend this place for both business and family alike. To start off the meal we had the thick sliced bacon with the best complimentary sauce, highly recommend trying this, along with the shrimp which were also quite tasty. For our main course I had the filet which was cooked perfectly and a solid choice. I'd rank it above 90% of the places I've traveled. My associate had the Delmonico and it had a unique flavor which I've not tasted anywhere else. Probably one of the best I've personally had and would recommend it, if that's your cut of meat. Overall great first experience and would recommend this for any occasion!
I was in New Orleans on a business trip so I ate here solo. There were no reservations available so I waited for a bar seat. There’s only 4 chairs if you want to have dinner at the bar.
The bar area is the best seat in the restaurant because of the piano player. The night I was there the piano player sang all the best songs of the 70s and 80s. He set the atmosphere of the whole place. People sang along and sat at the piano for drinks.
I had the 12 oz Delmonico steak with a side of sautéed mushrooms and onions. For dessert I had a New York cheesecake.
The food was absolutely delicious. I absolutely recommend this restaurant.
This is literally our favorite place to go for special occasions. We're locals. We've tried a lot of places around. The best steak around. Period. The food was just amazing. The best customer service around. The steak was cooked perfectly. Everything comes out super hot. The server pulled out the chair for my wife to sit down. He scaped the crumbs off the table before bringing us dessert. They even gave her a card for her birthday. Also, napkins were placed in our laps. Get the chocolate cake. Literally the best. Thank you so much Chophouse. After being treated terribly at Ruth's Chris, this literally made my wife's night special.
I was blown away by how delicious and well prepared the food was. Literally the best lobster tail I've ever had, which was a welcome surprise. The quality of the food was only outmatched by the astounding service and charming atmosphere. I'm already planning my return visit.
This is a high end steak and seafood restaurant. It's definitely pricey but worth it. We started with the seafood platter with the addition of the stone crabs. The fried lobster was the best thing on the platter. Filet mignon was well prepared. The hash browns were recommended by a local but I would skip them next time.
Fine dining in the 21st century! The place was very awesome. The vibes were great. Bathrooms were clean. The food was excellent and the wait staff was super knowledgeable about all the dishes. Can accommodate large parties and there is outdoor seating under an added on outside tent. The drinks are great. Allergy friendly. There is a live pianist/singer. Dimly lit to give a romantic ambiance. Covid precautions: wear a mask while not at your table. The tables are a little closer than I’d like but not invasively.
Had a couples dinner here. The ambiance was perfect, dimly lit. The waiter was well versed in the food and wine menu. Also very personable.
I ordered the 2 lobster tails, one fried and the other steamed. Those lobster tails were large, flavorful and cooked to perfection.
In the photo you will also see onion rings in the background. My husband says they were perfect. I didn't try them but they loom great.
Ohhh, I almost forgot. My Appetizers was the baked shrimp. They came 4 to an order and were large like prawns.
Everything was good!
Loved the experience. It was definitely a 5 star steakhouse. Valet parking is available right in front. We had a wait for our table but it wasn’t too long. It was more so the previous customer rather the restaurant on why we waited. The waiter came to us while we waited and got our drink orders and when he found out we were in his section, he offered even better customer service. I had the filet with the fully loaded baked potato. My friend had the Delmonico with the lyonnaise and fried lobster tail. We also had creamed spinach. Everything was delicious! I definitely plan on returning soon and very soon! Our waiter took our valet ticket so that they could have our cars out front so that we didn’t have to wait in the cold for our cars also. I loved the experience!! Highly recommend
This was the first restaurant we tried our first night in town since it was right downstairs from our hotel. We didn’t want to go too far because w were a little tired from our drive.
We were running a little late for our reservation, so I went to go check with he hostess and she was kind enough to tell me there was a 10 minute grace period. We were seated immediately and kindly greeted by our waitress. She took our drink orders, and I got the Pink Kiss which was the special for the month I believe. It was absolutely delicious, and adorable because it was pink! My husband got his usual cocktail which was the Vesper. To start we got the Carpaccio, and this was our first time trying it and definitely won’t be our last! The waiter even offered us some fresh bread to go with it. Til this day, I am still thinking about the carpaccio, it just melted in your mouth and the arugula added some freshness to it.
For our main entrees, my husband got the Delmonico, and I got the Center Cut Filet of Ribeye and both our steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking! We shared the sides and got Caesar salad and the Asparagus. She offered us fresh cracked black pepper, extra cheese, and anchovies. The asparagus we perfectly grilled and still had a little bite to them.
We will most definitely come back for another delicious meal whenever we come back to NOLA!
Food was phenomenal! A bit agitated from making a reservation and still had over a 30 minute wait but hey, it's NOLA! Once seated, the service was exceptional and the bar is by far one of the best to get your drinks. And of course the atmosphere which was filled with the musical styles of Mr. Michael O'Hara who played one of my favorite Anita Baker songs "Just Because" which was perfect for me and my wife's wedding anniversary celebration. Fun fact: he wrote that song for Anita Baker!
With this being a fine dining restaurant, the prices are on the expensive side but well worth it. I recommend getting the porterhouse for 2!
Amazing environment! The pianist was fabulous! He had a beautiful voice and kept it very entertaining. Food was good… appetizer shrimp was my favorite…oh! And the key lime pie was great!
This place was unbelievable. From the seafood appetizers, to the steaks and sea bass to finally the huge chocolate cake. The food was amazing and the staff fantastic. Best way to spend my birthday and to start our New Orleans vacation.
First time there. The food was amazing. The drinks were delicious. My waiter had a really beautiful smile. We enjoyed ourselves.
New Orleans is known for its food so it is no suprise to find a steakhouse with exceptional steaks. The Chophouse deserves a special mention regardless. The atmosphere is elegant, yet down to earth with servers that are friendly and attentive. The bar has a selection of fine spirits and there is a piano player to set the mood. With all that, the best part of this experience remains the meal. The selection of dry aged cuts is extensive and the chef is a master. My steak literally melted in my mouth, the sides were delicious and plentiful. You will need a reservation a few days in advance or you can sit at the bar on a first come first serve basis. This venue is walking distance from the hotel area in the French quarter. Plan ahead as you don't want to miss this!
We came to celebrate our Anniversary and could not have been more impressed. The ambience, the service, and the food were all outstanding. We each got the filet, and for the table we ordered the garlic spinach, onion rings, and baked potato, everything was amazing. I definitely recommend the chocolate cake for dessert. It is HUGE (easily feeds 6), over the top decadent, and completely worth every penny. We will absolutely be back soon. Also wanted to mention that we were immediately pleased to learn that there was complimentary valet. This was such a nice surprise since street parking in the city is usually such a pain, especially on a Friday night.
Decided to go without a reservation on a fully booked Saturday night so we had to sit at the bar and still received 10/10 service! The bartender made strong drinks and was very attentive. The perks of sitting at bar is being close to the piano player, Michael. He was really great and made the atmosphere so lively. The food was perfect as well. Not a single complaint.
Incredible and unpretentious yet upscale steakhouse. The key lime pie should be illegal it's so good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Get the baked potatoe and enjoy the show.
Atmosphere is nice! Service was good. If you like a well done steak order it medium well to avoid the char taste, however I enjoyed a very good shrimp appetizer that is a must to try.
Absolutely amazing!!! We went for our 12th year anniversary. The food was excellent. The staff was polite and attentive. Our cups were never empty. The steak was cooked to perfection. All the sides were fresh. I am a pen fanatic 🖊 and my hubby asked the waiter can I have one from the restaurant… of course I got one… the appetizers were all delicious… the bread was fresh and our Shirley Temples were a hit. You definitely receive the treatment that you pay for. Happy Anniversary Bae!
We stayed on the south end of Canal Streer and decided to try the Chophouse based on the close proximity. We loved the ambiance with the piano player in the background. Great service, great food, and great drinks.
Service impeccable. Food was delicious. The crab bisque was not impressive. The steak and fish with crab meat was superb!
The New York Strip was good. The dessert was good too (almond cake). Also, the Sazerac cocktails were good.
Venue: About 2 blocks off Canal, but be aware your GPS may have problems finding the address. Use the St. James Hotel if this happens.
The venue is small, so there's an intimate feel. I do see why reservations are a must (we had a reservation). We sat in the tent area. Even though it was 50 degrees and raining, we felt quite warm thanks to the many heaters.
Waitstaff: We had a party of 8, and the gratuity is 20%, which was the highest one I've seen, and I'm a traveler. Also, the ticket must be paid in cash if in a group.
The waitstaff was cordial, professional, and quick, which I was happy about because she's making on average for our table $25 per person.
The cuisine: The NY strip steak was seasoned and seared correctly, so the taste was there. However, the star of the show was the seafood platter that had a fried lobster tail, a broiled lobster tail, cocktail shrimp, broiled shrimp, lump crab, and the signature crab bisque. Seriously, this can be ordered with a side, and it would be a meal. The table immensely enjoyed it with the star being the fried lobster. The creamed spinach is a must, and you'll go gaga over those onion rings. I'm a mushroom gal, so I enjoyed that as well.
Cocktails: I had a mojito that was up to par, but I recommend my second drink, the Pink Kiss. You'll want to kiss the bartender for her efforts.
Parking: It's complimentary, which is like manna on high in Nola.
Value: Gratuity is excessive, but you don't pay to park, so it balances.
The quality and expert preparation of the dishes warrants the cost. Be prepared to spend $100 per person.
Verdict: I'd definitely return to this restaurant for a special occasion again.
The atmosphere and ambience was nice. The food absolutely amazing! Service was excellent! A must visit!! Definitely do the seafood sampler appetizer.
Very very excellent and delicious dinner!!!!
I sat by myself I just flew in from Atlanta, and I must say the filet mignon steak was cooked to perfection. And the lobster 🦞 was buttery bodaciously beautiful!!
The next time I am in No LA I'll definitely back.
Thank you to all of the Bar staff and service team!🙏
From the front of the house to the back of the house Great Job!!!!👍

The food was Fabulous and the staff was polite, warm and inviting. The atmosphere was festive, cozy and lively. Highly recommend this place if you like Steak, lobster and Filet mignon..
My wife took me here for my birthday dinner. Everything was great except for the steak. Joseph was a great waiter. Jordan was also very helpful. Both of our steaks were so salty that they were hard to enjoy. I don't understand why prime steaks are that salted. Mine was underdone, but acceptable since I don't mind a rare steak. Great drinks. Their cheesecake is awesome. Anyone who likes a Juniors style cheesecake will love this. I probably wouldn't go back since it was really expensive and not perfect.
Love this place. I went with my family and I’m the only one that doesn’t eat meat. We are eating at a steakhouse and I wasn’t thinking I would find anything other than some sides. I told the server, Brandon, and he said they have a veggie platter. This was one of the best dishes I’ve had. I’m not sure what was in the seasoning or oil, but it was great. The other three people with me all had amazing looking steaks and seafood platter. Besides the wonderful food the entire staff was great. Brandon is the best. The other servers and server assistants all were very friendly and fun to joke with. Also, the manager was great and super friendly. I know I rambled, but I really can’t express enough how great everything was.
So many restaurants it's tough to find a good quality one. Chophouse did not disappoint. This is a really nice; high quality; great service restaurant. From the hostess to the waiter you are treated so well. We had crab bisque, rib eye steak, crab appetizer - all of it was so tasty. Thank you so much for a great dinner.
My friend and I love steakhouses, we tried this place and Omgggg it was delishhh!!! 1st off let me say, “Parking is complimentary! I love that especially with the restaurant being off of Canal St. and plus it was Friday! 2nd we were greeted pleasantly and seated. The place itself is nice, very classy setting. The waiter was awesome! The lemon drops I had were THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD!!! Lastly, the FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!! I had Redfish with the crabmeat and butter garlic sauce poured on top, grilled asparagus with a loaded baked potato that the waiter himself dressed right in front of us. Will be back! Wonderful all around the board!
Our service was excellent even though the restaurant was quite busy! Our drinks stayed filled, our courses came out timely, and our waiter gave us a great recommendations. The baked shrimp were delicious, and our steaks and sides were cooked perfectly! Definitely recommend this place!
Great food, amazing service. Most expensive stone crab I have ever had but man was it worth it. I would love to come back.
The delmonico was absolutely delicious. As was the thick cut bacon and carpaccio. One of the best meals I’ve had in some time. The real stand out was the service. George was amazing and made the entire experience that much better. Can’t say enough positive things about him.
We were very happy to end our trip with dinner and a show. Chophouse was a very clean and inviting restaurant. Our server was very steadfast and answered any inquiries we had. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and I enjoyed the crab bisque. Sides were great as well, especially the grilled onions and mushrooms.
Overall the best Steakhouse I've probably ever been to - Miami, New York, DC, LA, anywhere.
Dinner was amazing - just exquisite - we got a bunch of sides, and I split a porterhouse with a friend. I like to say that at a Great steakhouse, the last bite of steak is as good as the first - and that was definitely true here. Finale was an enormous slice of chocolate cake... which was amazing - some of the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Seemed expensive, but a good deal - 30$ for enough dessert to feed 10 people (we had 8 people in our party, and enough left over to have more the next day!).
Wow.
Oh - and the waiter we had was aggressively funny - instead of trying to fade into the background he was full of quips and snark, totally hilarious. Great service too!
Wonderful steakhouse close to bourbon street. Staff was exceptional from the moment you walk in you are treated like royalty. Wine menu was extensive and the New York strip was great. We got the steak fries as well and they were huge. The loaded baked potato was dressed table side which was a fun touch. The cheesecake is far too big for a single person but it was delicious! Martin our server was a gentleman, and made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommend.
The dinner was amazing. I'm upset that I haven't been eating hear all these years. This has to be among the best dinners I've ever had. The service was on point and everything was cooked to perfection. We were seated at our reservation time and the dress is casual. The prices are well worth it. This is not a cheap spot and I'm fine with that.
This is a very special place for my wife and me. We have never had dinner here but we love their bar. Each time we’ve visited, they have a super talented pianist taking requests and engaging us. It isn’t cheap by any means but we always look forward to getting back there!
The crab bisque was amazing. The loaded potato has a nice table side presentation. The steak was extremely charred and not cooked to temp though. The food came fast and the service was impeccable though.
There's a guy playing the piano and singing live during our dinner Friday night- He was absolutely phenomenal! Perfect mood for a romantic setting. Dim lighting throughout the restaurant. There's outside seating available as well. High on prices. The customer service was impeccable! They have a wine bar in a separate section of the restaurant. I would highly recommend making reservations.
Great upscale place in the heart of downtown. Delicious food made to perfection and excellent service. Steaks were juicy and tender with a beautiful char finish. Lobster tail and shrimp were huge and very flavorful. Sides were great as well. 10/10!
This place was the last stop on our honeymoon almost 10 years ago and my husband and I still talk about it. Until today, we talked about it without knowing the name or where it was exactly. All we knew was that it was somewhere in/around the French Quarter, the food was delicious, and the service was incomparable; we were even serenaded by a wonderful quartet without having mentioned the occasion! This afternoon, with our powers combined -and after a brief Google Maps search- the mystery was finally solved. Chophouse is the place that we remember so fondly. Don't know when we'll make it back to New Orleans, but Chophouse will definitely be on the "menu"!
Thoroughly enjoyed my dinner last night. My fiancé and I both ordered the porterhouse steaks and baked potato/fries. It was a wonderful surprise for me as I was celebrating my birthday and I always wanted to have dinner at the Chophouse. My fiancé mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday to our waiter because he saw others receiving mini celebratory cakes; and wanted the same for me. However, we were asked if we wanted to order from the dessert menu. Although we did end up ordering from the menu ( the gigantic chocolate cake) I would have preferred the mini complimentary cake -that we were not given. I wanted to make sure I wrote a review because I feel as though a complementary dessert is a very sweet gesture from the establishment and this gesture should be consistent for all paying guests. I am not sure why we were not given the same consideration after it was mentioned twice that we were celebrating my birthday.
This could have been a great dinner, if we didn't had to wait 40 minutes to be seated, even with a reservation on our anniversary (which we indicated in our reservation). The food was great, although a bit on the fatty side. The atmosphere was fantastic, but the music performer called it a night shortly after we arrived...
A must whenever I'm in NOLA! Always a great experience. The waiter was incredible. He knew that menu up and down. Great wine selection and the table service was top tier.
We highly recommend! My husband and I were celebrating our 16yr Wedding Anniversary and had a great time! We got the baked shrimp as an appetizer which were delicious. For the main course I got the Filet and he got the New York Strip, they were both juicy and cooked perfectly! We got the creamed spinach and a loaded baked potato which they prepare the potato table side with all the toppings of your choice. We were stuffed and did not have dessert but they had a good selection. We definitely will be back!
Lively bar scene, great live music, food and attentive service. A NO gem.
My sister and I came here for my birthday! The hostesses were so nice, our waiter was great, and the food was yummy. The bathrooms were meh, toilet paper was out (so I changed it for them lol), trash was overflowing, hand sanitizer was out too. Cocktails were just okay. Nothing really fancy about the inside of this place. Also, they don’t do anything for your birthday if you tell them so don’t come here if you want to feel special. Steak and baked potato was delicious.
Fancy yet very relaxed atmosphere. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Food was beyond perfect. 5 stars isn't a high enough rating for this place. Best high quality food experience in the city.
Wonderful!!! We had the shrimp cocktail, the shrimp were huge & the sauces were amazing! Then we had the center cut & filet mignon (INCREDIBLE) with baked potato and spinach. This place is so incredible, would recommend if you’re looking to splurge!
Came on a anniversary trip with my wife. 1st time In New Orleans. Food was great had to take the rest back to the hotel because we couldn’t finish. Key lime pie was delicious
After a short break in new Orleans was so pleased to discover this hidden gem on my last evening. Was definitely the best meal I had in the city the steak was like butter. And the jacket potato was so big it was a challenge to eat.
My boyfriend was visiting from Boston, and I wanted to impress him being that he works at a prestigious steakhouse back home. I had to show him that New Orleans simply does it better! Of course, Chophouse did not disappoint! The ambience of the building set the tone. The staff's attire deserves its own review (very dapper)! Michael, the very talented pianist, stole the show with his sultry crooning of past hits. The redfish amandine was made by God himself. Last but not least, the 16 ounce baked potato was everything I didn't know I needed. All around 5 stars! I can't wait for my next Chophouse experience.
We had the Filet of Ribeye. Asked for medium and medium rare. Both came in closer to rare. Sent it back but came back slightly more cooked. It was chewy. I would stay away from this choice of steak. Otherwise everything else was excellent!
I found this restaurant through Yelp and it’s reviews. The restaurant is beautiful! The restrooms are very clean too! The staff was Exceptionally friendly, kind and considerate! Hans Simon, the Maitre D, was very kind and informative as well. He is very knowledgeable about the menu and drink list. He helped us get some directions to a few things we wanted to see as well! The food is out of this world! Fantastic! I ordered the baked shrimp and my husband and son ordered the rib-eye steak. We ordered the baked potato & sides + the French fries. All of the food was Amazing! My husband, who knows a good steak, said that this was The Best steak he had ever eaten. My son agreed as well! My baked shrimp was delicious! Our waiter and the 2 busboys we had were incredible and professional! The Chophouse deserves a 10 star rating!!!!!!!! Perfection!!!!!
Great steaks and a cool upscale atmosphere.
Steak was a little too charred which gave it a burnt taste impacting the flavor but overall meal was pretty good. Cocktails were excellent.
We wanted to switch up the standard NOLA food experience this trip and went looking for a fabulous steak House. We hit gold with Chophouse! The service was incredible, the steak was cooked to perfection and the key lime pie was the best I've ever had. Quiet and softly lit, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a great steak dinner.
Tsunami seafood platters catch locals in a net with delicious lobster, crab, and shrimp. The filet’s will have you unable to moo..ve after grazing on the 1 pound stuffed potatoes. Excellent service provided by Martin and his protégés.
Even in the cold and dampness, I'd eat there again! Well worth it!
So much fun on Christmas day! Small bar area, so Vultan (sp?) said I could eat sitting at the piano, so I did. John Autin played the piano and is quite talented. Food was delicious. Wine and champagne too!
Decided on a late evening dinner here. It was a great choice. I ordered a bone-in-ribeye. Great choice. The menu states that they age their meat for 28 days. It was perfect. Thick cut and perfectly cooked. Quite juicy. The environment is relaxed and very nice. With a polo shirt, I felt under dressed, but they seemed to welcome us in. Very proper. I would come and dine here again!
Very nice greeting from the Valet from Parking Management ,Manny very nice and attentive. The service was on point and the steak was one of the best I've had ever..... aged .
Service was awesome. the food was incredible! Filet Mignon came out perfect, and it just melted in my mouth.
Had Christmas Day dinner here and it was over the top fantastic! We were treated like royalty, the food (filet and sea bass) was excellent. Wonderful experience, classy and professional service.
Very good steak. Perfectly seasoned with incredible flavor. All of our sides were fantastic as well.
This is a great place. Fogo de Chao was my favorite fine dining restaurant in town but Chophouse has taken the title. There’s valet parking out front but there were open spaces close by. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. The steak and potatoes were dressed tableside. Real bacon in the potato is still a thing here. The lobsters were a great size and only one is needed if you’re trying to splurge on the sides. Most of the individual sides are enough to share. The drinks will sneak up on you so sip slowly. I will definitely be back. Everything was perfectly seasoned.
You get what you pay for. Order family style. Drinks are poured with love. Do not pass on the bacon or the bisque. Steaks are steaks..
We went here for Christmas eve dinner. They were pretty busy and we did need to wait an extra 15 minutes past our reservation. They did a good job of spacing the place out so you don't feel too close to anyone. The service here is top notch all the staff is so great! We each had a drink from the bar which were all well made. We had crab and the bacon steaks for an appetizer so good and really great portions. As the main course we got the lobster, a rib eye steak, the onion rings (which are huge) and the onions and mushrooms. We had a table of 4 and all that was more than enough food for us. Everything was so good it was hard to stop eating but we all wanted some room left for the gigantic chocolate cake. I took a picture so you can really see how big this thing is! Its huge and plenty for a table of 6 but we only had 4 haha
We had the loveliest time at Chophouse with perfectly cooked steaks and professional, attentive and friendly service.
The cream spinach, 8 oz Rib eye filet, Delmonico steak, giant baked potato and key lime pie a la carte accompanied by a bottle of Californian Pino Noir were PERFECT. We couldn’t had been happier.
I wanted to take the time to share our wonderful night here. It was our first time to eat at this fine and dine. J. K. Alban, Alicia Salvaggio, and I ordered the Caesar salad, 12 oz. Filet medium rare, 16oz. New York Strip medium rare. Also ordered savory sides of asparagus, hash browns, and a their baked potato. Their bartender made delightful cappuccino was made to perfection. The cheesecake is so good. We had plenty left overs to take home. Highly recommend.
Waitress seemed to focus most of her attention on a table behind us. The gentleman that cleared our table and kept our water glasses full now he should have been our waiter.
A wonderfully elegant dining experience. Linen tablecloths, black & white napkins, business casual dress-code (very loosely enforced). Good wine list and lots of whiskies.
For a meal of this quality and service, I'd say it was quite reasonable.
Excellent food but the service is unbeatable. And very nice and romantic ambiance because of the live music.
This place was amazing. I had a fillet cooked rare, a chopped salad, and the table split the lyonnaise and onion rings as well as a bacon appetizer. The bacon was easily an inch thick cooked through and crispy on the edges. It was served with an amazing mustard vinagerette that was the perfect pair. The steak was seared and crispy on the outside, cool and red in the middle and as tender and flavorful as any steak I've ever head. It was perfect. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and velvety smooth in the centers. The waiter suggest pairing them with creamy blue cheese dressing and it was heavenly. Kudos to him. The onion rings were massive! Our waiter also suggested that a single order of those would be enough for the table, we had five, but we ordered the larger size anyway that came with 10. We took 5 home with us so he again knew what he was talking about! This was one of my top 10 dining experiences ever and I would highly recommend The Chophouse!
Great service! I cant say this enough! It was probably the best service I've ever had! Very attentive and focused. Very clean and overly friendly staff. I gave it four star because I dont think the food stands up to the price, however I think everything else makes up for it!
I have to say I’m highly disappointed with this place quality wise. First off, there are only a few items on the menu. The price with the steak did not come with a side. You have to order it separately. $62 for a 22 oz. steak, you have a choice of getting it broiled or creole style flavor. Get your wallet ready! I don't mind paying for top dollar meal but I seriously don't think this is the place to drop $120 for 2 appetizers, 2 water with lemon, and two 16 oz. steak with no sides. Can you imagine if we got asparagus or a baked potato on the side? The check would probably be almost $160.
I ordered broiled, it's a shame. The steak was cooked perfectly on the inside. However, the outer layer tasted too charred, burnt, as if I'm eating burnt charcoal. I had to literally cut off the outside part and ate the center, smh. The lump crab appetizer was good. The service was superb. I don't see myself coming back.
Absolutely perfect. Service was flawless. I got the off menu special 12oz bone in filet mignon (just south of medium rare), along with the seafood platter appetizer for the table. Our waiter was wonderful and answered any questions. Server brought everything out in a timely manner and set everything neatly, even going as far as to plate the appetizers to make room on the table. Will definitely be back.
We came to chophouse last night to celebrate a birthday and everything was exceptional! We let them know in the reservation note and they had a personalized card at the table for the birthday girl, along with a complimentary dessert at the end of dinner. We’re visiting from New England and have had a hard time finding lobster, the seafood platter here exceeded every expectation! Highly recommended anyone to order it. The steak was also seasoned and cooked to perfection, they dress your potato at your table which we thought was a nice touch. Everyone from the manager to our busser was attentive, we really enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately we’re leaving tomorrow so we won’t have a chance to come back this trip, but will definitely stop in the next time we’re in town.
1st....It is a bit pricey... but the service was pretty amazing! With each part of the meal, a server came over and either added or removed the appropriate dinnerware. Our main server was pretty cool. He was knowledgeable of the menu and how the food items were prepared. I had the Delmonico steak- Cajun style...which was pretty much a ribeye grilled in a seasoned buttery sauce with 3 giant onion rings and 3 giant potato wedges. My wife and cousin had a seafood platter that was half the size of the table.
The drinks were pretty good...the Sidecar was quite tasty. Overall a great experience. I'd definitely go back on a special occasion.
Everything was excellent. The 12 oz filet was to die for. Do not miss the sizzling bacon as an appetizer, it really was something special. Our waiter Mark was great and took fantastic care of us.
The service here was nothing short of amazing. My waiter was attentive, food came out hot and they greeted me with a smile... I will definitely go back there. Thank yall for making my birthday special for me.
Amazing food! Amazing service! I'm definitely going back before we go back home.
Just WOW!
As a European the US food culture can be quite challenging, but this place it outstanding.
I never had a better steak (Porterhouse) in a restaurant. It was perfectly prepared. I can still feel the taste if I think about it again.
Wine selection was great. Atmosphere was very suitable for a nice evening.
Thanks for the great experience.
I went there for a birthday dinner. Steak was excellent. Hot hot food and very nice service and server. It was top notch. No complaints from me. I'd go back when visiting NOLA again if in the area!
Had the most fabulous dinner. To start we had the seafood platter of stone crab, lobster, shrimps. Then it was steak and sea bass. To finish the real key lime pie (their name not mine 😜) All good. #maneklady #manekeats #manektravels …
Beautiful place with excellent food. The waiters were very nice and professional and even though we didn’t have a reservation they managed to give us a table very quickly. Pricy, but it was totally worth it.
Food was INCREDIBLE! Waiter and staff were absolutely amazing! Pricey but TOTALLY with it! Bring your significant other here for a delectable meal and ambiance!
I would say the overall experience of the chophouse is a bit underwhelming. There are so many stellar restaurants in the area that the a la cart menu and portions leave you a bit wanting. I had a New York strip and my date a prime filet, were I to go again I'd get the prime filet as it was better. We got asparagus and a baked potato. The potato was good and the asparagus was straight up, no frills 6 spears for $13.
All told, 2 drink 2 entrees and the apps above were about $150 and we left hungry. There are many places for a comparable price with a bit more to offer, would probably eat at restaurant August given the option in the area.
Superb service and environment. Food was the BOMB! LOVED IT! We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary there.
We are from Galveston County TEXAS.
From the service to the food! Everything was super delicious! Steak, red fish with almonds, spinach, crab bisque, baked potato!!!! I mean it was incredible. The waiter was incredible! This is a must have on your to do list!
This place exceeded all of my husband and I expectations. One of the best upscale restaurants we’ve ever been to and it was literally steps from our hotel. Service was excellent. The crab bisque was so good we ordered two bowls to go so we good have it for lunch the next day. Their baked shrimp was huge and delicious. The steaks were amazing. Very tender and the perfect amount of char and seasoning. We will DEFINITELY be back. This will be a must stop every trip to New Orleans from now on.
Incredible dinner for our first time visit to Chophouse. Everything was perfect: seafood appetizer, filets cooked to perfection, music and ambiance and the service from Rauchon (spelling?). Will definitely return and will request him.
Be sure to put this on your New Orleans “must go” list
Ive been walking past this place the entire pandemic and wanted to check it out. Theres an advertisement putside for stone crabs. I see these in the grocery store in Miami so I had to bite.... Literally. They were good. I also ordered the lump crab cake appetizer and a bowl of crab bisque. You know the place is old scool when Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra are the music. Then they threw in an Otis Redding curve ball, but still good food and interesting atmosphere
We were a walk in without a reservation and were given a good table. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. The meal ended with an unfortunate incident which was dealt with impeccably. Thank you. I would come again and would recommend it too.
Amazing food. Steak was amazing! Redfish was awesome as well. Came here for my birthday and they even gave us a strawberry cheesecake. Recommend highly
Top notch steak house in New Orleans. Everything was cooked & presented to perfection. Excellent professional service. Highly recommend going here & would definitely go back!
Fantastic hospitality, food, atmosphere and all around experience. We were so impressed by Claude. His personality is contagious and made our night. Kudos to him!
OMG, everything is phenomenal! The reservation process was seamless, the attentiveness, the accommodation, the drinks were great, the restroom was selfie proof, they have an ATM, the take cards, there was minimal talking at the table due to the fact that all parties were satisfied good.
I would definitely come back! A+
Amazing food and wonderful service. Steaks cooked perfectly and shrimp the size of your hand. Highly recommend!
Absolutely phenomenal food! Wait staff was very attentive and made the dining experience even better. Steak was cooked perfectly, sides were wonderful. Will definitely be back
Service was extremely superior! Our server was terrific! It was the best filet I have ever had. Melt in your mouth delicious!
Been to Chophouse before and would have given it 3 stars but just went again and definitely 5 stars all around. Amazing service, food, atmosphere, menu was simple but filled with great options.
My wife took me here for my 40th birthday and the place was amazing. The staff was super attentive and food was delicious. We had the Crab bisque, Ribeyes and bake potato, and took home the key lime pie and NY cheese cake... it was all amazing. They even brought me out a small cake and a card.... Thanks Chophouse New Orleans
The atmosphere was nice, the wait staff was generally attentive, and the food was pretty good (Steak was way undercooked). Overall good experience, but not an experience that matched the price.
Absolutely delicious! The food and wait staff was great. Nice atmosphere ! The waitress was accommodating since it was our first time and helped us make some good menu decisions. I will return.
Food and service were excellent!!! Was a little too warm and smelly for the outside seating we had but overall good!!!
Steaks were delicious. Very professional and friendly staff. Thank you Brandon!!
Unbelievably delicious - every aspect! Service was top notch and price was very reasonable!! - would go again every opportunity I get!
Beautiful atmosphere!
The filet and shrimp were delicious 😋
Here for a company dinner for about 50; we were seated fairly fast. The live music in the bar area is just the right addition of ambience and distraction to get the ball rolling; hello 'give me another of those, I'm feeling warm and fuzzy...'.
The outside rear patio is great for socializing & when heated, the 8-foot lanterns are truly picturesque.
For the size of our party, the food came swiftly. I found the appetizers to be very tasty, the main course, steak for me, was a little less than memorable, but the desserts made up for the lackluster steak.
Valet parking was great. Or if you parked and walked, lots of scenery to enjoy.
Outstanding cut of steak and I'm not a steak person. Romantic setting. Very attentive staff. Wine was excellent. Missed the mashed potatoes on the menu but I expanded my horizons with lyonnaise!
Second time eating here and brought friends this time. Great ambiance, service, and food.
Filet mignon was perfect. Creamed spinach also great. Excellent service
Really enjoyed my night out here, great atmosphere and the live music from the piano man was great.. And the food was delicious!
2nd best steak I've had after sw steakhouse in Las Vegas. Great atmosphere with a gentleman playing piano at the bar.
The food is cooked to perfection. I enjoy the live music. Eating there is always a joy.
So I’m a high maintenance Texan when it comes to steak, and my meal was phenomenal - including my dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives! Atmosphere was lovely and so relaxing. Joe helped me this evening and was a delight. Highly recommend- I’ll be back!
This place is great. Steaks are done well. Food is excellent. Music by Amanda Walker is perfect. Service is outstanding.
Just in town for a trial lawyers seminar and was lucky enough to stop in. The Chophouse is a fantastic spot. The live music was an added bonus. The food (especially the steaks) and drinks were first rate.
Looking forward to coming back soon!
Food is definitely like no other ,our waiter Mauricio very professional, knowledgeable and has perfect timing when coursing dinner ,great experience
The food here is of the highest quality and the atmosphere is great for any occasion! The staff is also very nice and knowledgeable, especially Brandon! 10/5 I will definitely be visiting again. 👍 …
Truly exceptional experience. Professional servers. High quality prime steaks hand trimmed and cooked perfectly.
Great desserts. Watch out for the gigantic chocolate cake. Enough to feed four people.
Lord Have MERCY my steak tho!!!!
Great food… great service; what an amazing experience our server was amazing thank you for the good service
Steak was cooked exactly as requested but I am not a fan of the burned char flavor. I just prefer a hard crust without the charcoally taste. But I have no complaints. Lobster was good but I've had better. Overall it was great just not my favorite.
The new Yourk strip is really perfect, the place is small, you have to come on time for your reservation because there is not much space at the bar. And the waiters don't really pay attention to you if you want a drink while waiting. I guess the system itself wasn't thought through. It's still a good place for dinner. Plates, silver, and glasses are super clean and the service process is really thoughtful besides what I mentioned above. Still 5 stars
The food and service were great. It was the getting sat part that makes this a 4 star review instead of a 5.
One of the best meals I've had, period. Get the lyonnaise (hash browns), they go with everything! The Steak was cooked to absolute perfection.
Aside from the food, the staff was top notch Christopher our server was great. I love it when I ask for suggestions and they nail it. Claude, THE Maitre D, made our night. He will definitely be running his own place and I can't wait to visit it someday!
A great classic steak house! Our most enjoyable meal while in NO. The onion rings are great. Staff were kind and attentive. The quality of food vs. the price, in my opinion, is better than a lot of the other restaurants in town.
It's always a delight to find the perfect spot to have a perfectly cooked steak when traveling. The service and food were equally excellent. We ate here twice in the span of a week, and I would have no hesitation eating here nightly.
First time in New orleans and asked locals for best fine dining. Was directed to the chophouse. Was greeted by staff and seated promptly. Our server answered all questions about market prices on seafood and other items. We ordered the seafood platter. Food was immaculately prepared and served. The crab bisque was perfect. My wife's Ceasars salad was huge. This restaurant takes pride in is service and food and it shows. Highly recommend for fine dining.
Best filet mignon ever. Exceptional staff and ambience.
Can't say enough about this place. It sets the standard for service. Steaks are insane good.
We were seated right away as we arrived just before or reservation time. We were eated near the piano player, distracting to conversation but he was very good. Waiter was very attentive, helpful, and made excellent recommendations for wine and food. My wife’s jumbo shrimp were definitely jumbo and very tasty. My filet was tender, juicy, and cooked as I requested, a difficult feat with such a thick cut. The wines were unexpectedly good. We chose the key lime pie for dessert, and we were very happy with tot. I would definitely recommend the Chop House to anyone looking for a premium steakhouse experience.
The ribeye and filet were very tasty, cooked great. The aspargus was really delightful with the sauce. The lyoniaise was mediocre. Overall the food did not disappoint I orderd two French 75 drinks they were smooth and tasty as well. The only reason I chose 3 stars was because of the Outside seating. It is extremely hot and humid, the flies were really bad. For 220 dollars I expected more elegance with their outside seating.
Seafood is awesome and they have stone crab when in season! Everything is really good and the outdoor area is fantastic. This has been added to our must do's when in NOLA.
The food and service was excellent, portions were well portioned.
This place is SOOO GOOD! Great atmosphere just seen so many gnats while eating which grossed me out
For those from out of town but like a fantastic experience this is the place to go. Ruth Chris could learn customer service and Del Frisco Double Eagle would envy the steak. Words just can't express!
40th BDay for hubby. Totalllllly awesome.
$$$$ but you get what you pay for and well its also Nola. Dine in was avail. Call ahead callllll ahead! For Reserv.
This is one of the best steakhouses we've ever been to. Solid service, EXCELLENT steak and the chocolate cake was amazing even though we took it with us as a late night (and next day) snack. Highly recommend!
Wanted a steak dinner on a Saturday night and stopped in here. The wait was 2 hours for a party of 4 so we chose to hang out at the bar. The piano guy provided good entertainment. We had already been drinking most of the day so we most of us opted for waters/sodas. I didn't deal with the bartender, but heard he was snobby. Our dates went up to order martinis and he said he didn't make them. So they opted for double Grey Goose and soda... $52! We didn't notice until after or wouldn't have paid it. What a rip off!
A table became available after an hour and we all got ready to eat. 3 of us ordered steak. I ordered the delmonico (which was a ribeye prepared in a cajun marinade... very yummy), the other two ordered a NY strip and filet.. both of which they enjoyed. Our 4th person opted for the jumbo baked potato, which was the biggest potato I'd ever seen! It must have been the size of my forearm.
The service was a bit snobby, but impeccable. And while the food was good, the whole experience was just "okay"
Wonderful time for my friend's bday.
Food great.
I just didn't like having my food taken away to be bagged. She put it on the counter and went to get something for another and then went back to the counter where my food was to bag it. I watched how people walked pass it and just sat there. Didn't want it after that.
$268 leftovers down the drain.
Overly priced, upscale dining, the did was ok. I expected Authenticity of NAWLINS flavor with a touch of class. The piano player sang Happy Birthday @ our table for my husbands birthday
Celebrated my sister’s birthday at Chop House and the ambiance, live music, service from Kate the Great, mixed drinks, presentation ( WAS EVERYTHING) and the scrumptious food was absolutely AMAZING! All of those ingredients wrapped up in to one night made it an experience of a lifetime!!!
Delicious 😋 will definitely be back.
My birthday dinner was delicious and the service was outstanding!!! I was even surprised with cake and a card. Definitely a birthday to remember!!!
Food was absolutely amazing; expensive, but more than worth the price. Waiters were also fabulous. Deserves 5 out 5 stars & much more!
Best steakhouse ever, service way above awesome, Food from start to finish Damn Good...
Something I never knew I wanted to do….eat dinner on the piano while Michael performs amazing tunes! The food was delicious. The drinks were amazing. And the service was TOP NOTCH! Michael made sure that we had everything we needed and made the experience that much more great with his personality and humor. We will definitely be back!
Excellent experience! Helpful and friendly service staff, and the steak was perfect! Moreover, the side events were spectacular! The baked shrimp was great, and the crab bisque was OUT of this WORLD! And the creamed spinach... I'll be thinking about the Chophouse creamed spinach for the rest of my life, as I have found a new standard by which all creamed spinach will be measured against from here on. I know that's a strange thing to rave about... but they use a seasoning that is somehow familiar but not something I can put my finger on... and whatever it is COMPLETELY elevates that dish!
(But DON'T touch the plates... they are insanely hot.)
Stone crab and shrimp were wonderful service was nice and the location is great. The vibe of the spot was super cool. I would have to say the NY strip underwhelmed but I would still recommend the place if your looking for a high end steakhouse in the downtown area.
Great Steakhouse with top not service...the Delmonico Ribeye is the best!
I have dined here many times the food and atmosphere is always excellent. However my recent visit I just had a sweet tooth. I ordered the gigantic chocolate cake thinking it was simply a slice. NO....it's GIGANTIC and my sugar crave is satisfied for the next 3 months. And yes I had a DOGGY BAG! no photo I would have to take that picture from a distance!😲
Lovely fine dining in the heart of New Orleans with live music! Their seafood appetizers were amazing!
The food was very good at those prices it better be. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the meal and would go again if we were in town.
Great steaks and great service, it’s a awesome place for celebration or just a night of fine dining. Thanks for everything.
We came here a year ago after we got married, and decided to make it a tradition to return for our one year anniversary. Both times the food was amazing (one of the best filets I have ever eaten, perfectly cooked) and the service was excellent. This time, though, there was also live music and that made the experience even better because he was fabulous as well. I highly recommend, and we can't wait to go back.
Elegant atmosphere, outstanding service, and unforgettable food. There was nothing disappointing about this restaurant.
Service was as expected ... very attentive wine selection was good, the Steaks came out as I liked it medium rare to rare very nice texture plates are very hot but it adds to the experience expected of a steakhouse, shrimps were nice bisque was the right amount of creamy ...
Went for milestone celebration, staff was attentive, drinks were excellent, ambiance was quaint, oh and the food was @#$%&&+! Delicious.
I raved about this place after having eaten here with my daughter before the pandemic. I was beyond excited to go again Saturday. I was very disappointed. Our server was fantastic. But my steak wasnt cooked the way I ordered it and the baked potato was blah. My companion loved the redfish though.
George the bartender was absolutely fantastic!! He made our experience excellent!!
Waiter Brandon was awesome and food was excellent. The entire staff was very welcoming
Wanted a seafood platter but after learning the price of $200.00 I opted for another dish on the menu. The broiled shrimp was tasty and had 6 shrimp for a more reasonable price of $31.00
Nothing special. The sandwich was too sour and Hurricane drink had no alcohol. I bet they have a better choices.
I celebrated my Birthday here last night and the experience was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, had a great sense of humor. He made sure we had a memorable experience. The food was perfect and the portions were large. The entire staff was great. We will definitely return!
Everyone was very nice. The maitre d, hostess and waiter. All of the food was delicious. I had the NY strip and creamed spinach and I shared the Lyonaisse potatoes with my friend. The potatoes were similar to home fries or fried potatoes and some of the best I have ever had. I also tasted some of my friend's sea bass which was wonderful as well. I highly suggest that you make reservations instead of walking in. They were able to seat us but we did have about an hour wait. So we had drinks in the bar area while listening to the entertaining pianist and watching the game on the TV. (We went on a Monday night.)
Spectacular service. I ended up going here twice within a week because the food and service was beyond excellent. The carpaccio and stone crabs were great. My favorite was the redfish but I doubt you can go wrong here. The first night there I celebrated my birthday. They made it extremely special for me. Thank you guys. I highly recommend dining at this beautiful restaurant.
I recently visited the chophouse for my birthday dinner and it was a phenomenal experience. We made reservations online and ended up running a little late and the staff was still super accommodating when we arrived. The atmosphere is very relaxing and to say the food was amazing would be an understatement. Our waiter Martin was so nice and did a great job of explaining the menu to us. He gave us some advice on which steak to choose and it was the BEST steak I have tasted in my life. Overall we had a great dinner and I will definitely return when I visit New Orleans in the future.
It was a surprisingly great experience, for walking into a very fancy Steakhouse and being completely out of our element. The staff treated me and my better half very nicely and our waitress Stephanie was super nice and down to earth. Now about the steaks, they were amazing and delicious. (a bit pricey at essentially 50$ each) I gotta say the atmosphere, music and staff it was totally worth the price and I would wholeheartedly recommend it if you're in the mood for a fine dining experience.
The food was amazing and all the staff was polite and friendly. Love this place. I highly recommend it!
Chophouse is an amazing place to dine at. The crab bisque is the best I've had. The Delmonico steak melts in your mouth. Make sure you leave room for that gigantic chocolate cake and ice cream that serves six people.
Awesome Service!! Our first time this summer and we were impressed. Great food we had lobster and steak Delish♥️
Easily, the best dining experience that I have ever had! !
Great food, sides are large enough to share. The staff is very accomadating. They split up the appetizer seafood plate for us. It was amazing.
The wonderful and attentive staff made this a memorable Thanksgiving meal! Bacon appetizer paired surprisingly well with cocktail sauce. The steaks and creamed spinach were fantastic. The "small" chocolate cake easily fed a table of four with plenty to bring home.
The food and service is fantastic! I now encourage my colleagues to have business dinners here as well!! Will be back actually for a business dinner myself next week..can't wait!!
Stayed at the St. James Hotel right next door and literally stumbled upon this restaurant. The food is delicious (I had the red fish with crab meat, my guy had filet mignon) and my old fashioned was good and strong. The waitstaff and the manager were friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the City!
We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 16th Anniversary while my husband and I were in town.We decidedon the porterhouse for 2.with a few sides. And everything was So Good!Everyone was Super nice and professional.if you are looking for upscale dining with a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you.
Amazing food and atmosphere! Live music and a great experience.
I was there last week and the food was amazing. The service was top notch. Joseph C (#883) you gave the best customer service which made the experience better. Thank you for the great work. I'll definitely come back when I visit New Orleans again.
Best meal I’ve had in awhile. Ribeye. Creamed spinach, mushrooms and onions, asparagus. Amazing. Gigantic chocolate cake is gigantic.
The chopphouse experience was great although there were some customers alittle to excited about the game. It took management to long to shut down the noise. The food was great although if there is a next time i will ask for extra seasioning. I had the filet mignon with a lobster tail with a loaded baked potato / mushrooms and onions as my sides. My date had the center cut with a baked potato and cream spinach. The staff was great and the hostess was stunning. Also its a nice touch that they park you car for free. It is a pricey steakhouse so leave your budget at home.
Words cannot express enough good things about this place. The service is impeccable and the food is like nothing else. Joseph, our server, was the kindest, most personable person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting at a restaurant. I am from California, and the service in this restaurant was 100 times better than anything that I have ever seen before. Joseph took the time to understand our needs, provide friendly and quick service, and made sure that we were comfortable. I absolutely love this place, and a special thanks to Joseph for making our experience so special and memorable. And the food; top notch :)
Great New Orleans feel and atmosphere. Excellent steak and sea bass! Also like that there is valet parking.
Great place! Definitely suggested the 40oz porterhouse for two people, with mushroom as side (exceptional!). Service is perfect, nice athmosphere with the piano playing. High prices!
Wonderful and unique food dining experience. Best seafood I have had in long time. Steak was truly delicious but mine could have feed two people! Share share share!
When I tell you this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I Wanted to make my boyfriend feel special for his birthday and this place really helped. The minute we walked in they greeted him with a warm Happy birthday. My waitress was very tentative, the food was amazing, even though it was a little pricey it was worth it. The drinks were great. Then they gave him a small birthday cake, That was so cute. This place is worth going back not only because of the service, Or the food, but the vibe is amazing. They also took extreme measures during with the Coronavirus, if you were not eating you had to wear your mask. Which is very important during this time. I would definitely tell you to try this place out, you would love it.
Kate and the staff were engaging, thoughtful, and fun. The food was everything you expect from an exceptional steak house. Highly fet the steak Delmonico and the deep fried lobster tails!
Great service and a great meal. Out standing bisque and perfectly cooked steak and lobster.
Great experience and delicious food! We sat outside on their patio for my birthday dinner. Service was excellent - the staff was attentive and engaging. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the baked shrimp which had an amazing flavor. We ordered a number of appetizers and sides, and our only regret was getting the lyonnaise over the loaded baked potato. They were kinda enough to serve us a mini birthday cake for the special day. Reservations recommended.
My first visit here. Very nice place. Ecellent wait staff, and the food was delicious👌🏼. Very nice atmosphere. However, I noticed when viewing the menu, it was stated there is a $5 fee for cutting cake. I don't quite understand why each guest was charged $5 for cake cutting on a cake that was brought in by the guest. It was a birthday dinner. So with 9 guest, you charged $45 to cut the cake they brought. Unfortunately I didn't notice it on my bill until the next morning. I would have inquired that night had I noticed. Other than that everything was great!
Food was good. Steaks were nice size, but over cooked unfortunately. Atmosphere was nice.
Honestly feel there is much more quality and authentic food you can get for $300 dinner for Two in New Orleans than here. Not awful in away just very underwhelming for the prices and felt the meat was under seasoned and lacked the good marbling of an over $50 steak. Also $9 potato is no from me
Only complaint would be the closeness of the tables. The food and service was excellent.
Best steak I’ve had so far in Nola
First visit here and they did not disappoint. The staff, service, ambiance, and food were amazing. We ordered crab bisque, broiled/fried lobster, redfish amandine, and spinach for the table. It was delicious. I would recommend patronizing this business. Just beware if you are serious about Covid, they failed to request proof of Covid vaccine or negative PCR test as required to dine in.
Went for my anniversary. We had the rib eye steak, filet mignon, lobster, ceasar salad & onion rings. Overall it was not bad. Although we had a good time & the food was delicious...for the amount of money that was spent...I expected more. Service was excellent, Rocky is a gem.
First-class dining. Excellent services & amazing food. My favorite is the Ribeye Steak & Creamy Spinach. The Lobster Tail was amazing too. The staff treats you like your royalty. The dress code is business/ Casual. Treat yourself or make it a date night.
The fried lobster tail was totally amazing. Was looking for a different sauce but the butter was cool. They couldn't get the temperature of my steak correct but oh well!!!! (Center cut ribeye) But the manager did conversate me with the free dessert 🤷
Great steak one of the only places that serve a black and blue steak. The seafood appetizer plater was one of the best things I have ever eaten.
Fantastic service, steaks and world class key lime pie. Piano table in the bar.
Had a great time here at the chop house. Getting a reservations was relatively easy and they were very accomadating for party of 6. They offer free valet right in front of restaurant. The inside looks great, the atmosphere is nice. Food was amazing, drinks were awesome and dessert was excellent. Service was impeccable. My only complaint is the gratuity being placed on the check. The temporary menus being used did not mention anything and the waiter did not mention it was included. I had a little bit to drink and definitely my fault for not reading and shouldnhave known better being local. Service really good and I double tipped them and let it go. Just wish more emphasis would have been placed on it. Other than that amazing experience.
Wow... That's really all I have to say about the steak. Service was excellent. Cheese cake was 💣 and I'm not even a cheese cake fan. Well worth the visit! …
Excellent service, amazing food, very accommodating, and the atmosphere is upscale without being daunting to us average Joes. I would highly recommended any of the steaks.
My boyfriend ate here in 2018 the first time we traveled to NOLA. We haven't forgot about the food or service since. We came back to NOLA this last weekend and were pretty bummed when we discovered that the open times for reservations didn't work with our schedule that we already had planned. We just decided to get the Bacon Appetizer and the Crab Bisque to go and just eat it in our hotel. We got there to pick up and discovered we could eat it right at the bar. They instantly accommodated to our changes with great attitudes. We got some really good drinks and service from Micheal (bartender) and enjoyed our food right there. Thank you Chophouse we will make sure next time we are in NOLA we will get our reservations earlier!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there tonight and the service was awesome. Danny was our waiter and he was such a gentleman. He answered all of our questions and was very warm, charming and polite. It was our first time there and he made us feel welcome. I wish I had got the name of the young man who filled our water each time. He was very charming as well. The food and drinks were great and we would like to come back again. Even the valet and the young lady at the front desk were very hospitable.
Great food, excellent service, one huge hiccup.
The triple crusted steaks are great. Sides are better than other high-end steak places in town. Glitch: they did not ask for proof of vaccine when we arrived (against the rules in New Orleans) and most of the staff was not masked (against common sense). The wait backs were masked but the kitchen staff was not; nor was the wait staff or other FOH staff. When I ask our wait person about it, the answer was “almost everyone is vaccinated now” (not true) and “it’s only political now” (partially true but…..). The reason we refuse to eat in Jefferson Parish is the lack of care about Covid. This great place can do better than that!
One of the best and underrated restaurants in New Orleans. The fried lobster tail was immaculate. Even the baked potato was divine. The service was superb. Outdoor dining is available. I appreciated the attention to social distancing.
The service was great. The food was seasoned well, & tasted real good.. I had the seafood platter. The drink was real strong (sidecar) I believe was the name.
To start, I want to say that this place is absolutely fantastic. It smells like it should. Like an old New Orleans home. The service is wonderful, with them refilling your water or soft drinks before you even finish them. The French bread they bring out is warm and crunchy and pairs well with the butter. Everything on the menu here tastes as if the most famous chefs in the world created the dishes. The atmosphere is a perfect combination of fancy, friendly, and cold. No matter what you order, it is made to absolute perfection and this place is one of the best examples of true Louisiana food. This is definitely in my top 20 restaurants in the U.S. so far. Keep it up, yall.
I honestly love this place so much. Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. The space is beautiful and candlelit. A great spot for couples and groups. The service was superb. I would recommend to anyone who wants a great restaurant. I can't wait to come back to New Orleans to eat here again.
The ambience was EVERYTHING! Everyone was very attentive and nice. We had the crab bisque for an appetizer, which was AMAZING, even tho u don't get much. The hennessy margaritas and French 75 were made perfectly! We had Delmonico steaks, which were cooked perfectly! Everything was amazing! I will definitively be back.
Best steak I've ever had. The rib eye was amazing. Great sear with a perfectly seasoned salt and pepper crust. The bacon steak was a fantastic appetizer. The atmosphere is completely New Orleans, without being touristy. We enjoyed listening to the Jazz Pianist while drinking the city's finest Mojitos while waiting for our table.
Excellent food and drinks. Dang was a great server. Bacon Appetizer , stone crabs , and the shrimp Appetizer a must. Nice date night.
Service was fantastic, food was great, great piano player get the place singing along with him. Great place to celebrate my husbands birthday
Delicious steak, Wonderful live music, good wine just all around great 👍. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in New Orleans.
Beautiful venue. Extremely professional staff. Food was amazing as well.
We spent Christmas dinner here and were so glad we did. The wait staff was attentive, the atmosphere was lively and the food was well worth the price. I ordered the NY Strip, which was charred on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside, perfectly paired with Lyonnaise. We enjoyed the pianist, Michael O'Hara, who kept the crowd engaged. Memorable evening.
Very pricey. Great waiter staff. Honestly my steak was just OK. I had the bone in rib eye. I was expecting to be wowed and I was a bit let down. The crab bisque is delicious. The garlic parmesan crusted shrimp was good but the serving was small even for an appetizer. Warning is only 3 jumbo shrimp.
The bacon appetizer wasn't good at all. Everything else was good.
Excellent service and great food! The gigantic chocolate cake was huge! It would be nice if they offered at least one vegetarian entre dish though, for those who are with groups and need an option. I would definitely visit again!
Classy, traditional setting with experienced wait staff and attentive, friendly manager. Great red wines. But, our steaks were recommended by the waiter to be less cooked than normal, so we ordered accordingly and the steaks were overcooked. The $32 crab claw was very small and it was taken off our tab without issue, and it was explained to be an anomoly. I would visit again but I would order carefully.
Celebrated a friends birthday. They were friendly and service was impeccable
We love a good steak. Chophouse did not dissapoint. Strip and filet were cooked perfectly. Service was exceptional. We had Joseph and he did an amazing job. Highly recommend if you are a steak connoisseur like we are.
Excellent steak, fabulous wait staff, never had to request anything, they were there for you.
Highly recommend this place for a great steak and good time.
It was raining and the Chophouse was right across the street from our hotel, so we ventured over for dinner. We sat in the bar and had a fabulous piano player/singer (it was a Thursday night). The caesar salad and baked shrimp were excellent! Steak was good, but could have been better. Service was also good. Everyone was friendly/attentive.
This meal was one chaotic mess! After having to wait outside for our 7 pm reservation we were seated. We started with the small order of onion rings. The small is a huge order and is large enough for the three of us. The waiter comes out with a large order. No problem for us, but a waste for them. The rings are impressive, served with blue cheese dressing. I only wish the batter was not quite so crispy since when you cut into them the batter falls off. However, flavor wise they are great. We then split a chopped salad. Also very good, except they brought the dressing a while after the salad was served. We then ordered a NY strip medium rare for two of us to split. Out comes a bone in rib eye. The baked potatoes is out (very good), and the other person has their shrimp dish. We have to wait for another steak. In all the commotion we forgot to tell them not to "pittsburgh" style it. This chars the outside almost to burnt, but the inside was cooked correctly. For me this spoils the flavor of the dry aged steak. The cheesecake came from Carnage's Deli in New York and while the outside crust has a somewhat freezer taste, the inside has the best flavor of any cheesecake I have ever tasted. They offer a chocolate cake of gigantic proportions at $29, and I wish they would also offer a smaller size so I could try it. For all the mishaps, the staff were so accommodating and made adjustments to the bill, that it was hard to be upset. I will still eat there again, but you have to reinforce what you order if you have special preferences.
Home run! Best meal, ambiance and experience maybe ever for me, my wife, plus one. Cocktails at the bar probably enhanced our experience. The piano player set a relaxing tone. Reserved table was on time. Food quality was the highlight. Fairly pricey.
Visited here on a recent trip to NOLA and had a pretty good experience. I ordered the 16oz NY strip along with asparagus and it turned out to be very tasty. I ordered it cooked to medium, but it seemed to be just a tad bit over cooked. A friend in my party also ordered a steak medium and his appeared to be cooked properly. Our waiter was friendly and suggested several items on the menu and was very attentive. I ordered cheesecake as my desert and the serving was very large, but It wasn’t the best I’ve had and seemed a bit too dry for my liking. Overall the food and service was good and I would definitely visit again when I come back to NOLA.
My wife and I popped in here for a light dinner. We sat at the bar and had a fantastic bar tender... Tyler maybe? He was great. Very informative and friendly.
This place has a very romantic, quaint atmosphere. They were having an amazing special for Veterans since it was Veterans Day so I really applaud them for that.
We had the crab bisque which was amazing. The chopped house salad was excellent and we split the Parmesan Shrimp appetizer.
Their steaks any cut are cooked to perfection. Their seafood platter was the best. The lobster was the best I ever had.
Great service, good ribeye, and nice ambience.
I wanted to give this place a 4.5. Second time here and the food is superb. The service is superb. However, asked for outdoor seating and the outdoor area is covered by a tent...with both ends closed. Which defeats the purpose of outdoor seating in this time. But don't get me wrong....I'm going back. Worth the many pennies spent.
Great food make reservations b4 going!!
This was the best steak I’ve ever had. It’s not cheap but it’s well worth the money. I highly recommend eating here.
I celebrated my birthday and Chophouse made sure I had a great time. BRANDON was amazing. He was attentive and made awesome suggestions for meal and cocktail.. We will definitely return. Thank you for the memories
Decent steaks, menu kind of limiting but the only Steakhouse open on Mon/Tues.
The food was wonderful, staff was great, and the live piano music was charming. We had sticker shock when receiving the bill as seafood prices fluctuate and not listed- the most expensive meal we've ever eaten. I would rate the restaurant as $$$ We also ordered a $36 steak but sides are not included, a little disappointed in that. We were a bit under-dressed. Overall a good experience, but a hard lesson on our part.
Great food, over the top service, very pricey.
One of the best steaks I've had eating out. They had amazing service. We walked in and got a table almost immediately.
The atmosphere was very nice. They had several different options for steak and sides and a very nice selection of wine. It was very pricy, but you get what you pay for. They brought out a cart prepared the baked potato right there next to us. It felt like a bit much, but having a team of people serve you was nice.
We had the steak Delmonico (cajun style), the center cut ribeye, a fried lobster tail, a broiled lobster tail, crab bisque, and the New York thick cut bacon. Everything was delicious and our steaks were cooked just the way we wanted them. Martin, was our server and he is fantastic.
The best fine dining steakhouse in New Orleans... You won't find better atmosphere and most of all a better steak than here!
The staff is friendly and professional.
The food is phenomenal. The ambiance is lovely and the restaurant is gorgeous. Service is excellent and the again, the food... Amazing. We had the crab bisque, creamed spinach, baked shrimp, mushrooms and onions, onion rings and potatoe wedges, filet with hollandaise and crab, and a ribeye. Everything was cooked to perfection and I'll be back.
The food was incredible. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were excellent as well. Our server was very good, he was on top of our every request. The atmosphere was delightful, a man played piano and sang while we were there.
Great place food delicious well worth the money
This is the best meal we had during our trip. The ceaser salad was awesome, filet mignon juicy and buttery and terrific service. Order the filet mignon you won't be disappointed.
The chophouse is a small and elegant place to go eat. I loved our service and the live piano player, however I came for steak and I was slightly disappointed! The steak comes with no side dishes or anything like that and it is mildly seasoned if anything. No mushrooms on top, no butter, no specific seasoning or flavor. Just a bit of parsley on top I believe. I had the carpaccios appetizer though and I really liked that especially on top of the bread. The bread is surely wonderful.
Absolutely delightful steaks and food all around. We had the bone in Rib eye as well as the Filet, a giant loaded baked potatoes and sauteed green beans. Our waiter/bartender Mike is well experienced at his craft as well as knows the menu perfect. Hopefully added a new mixer to his choices.
( Monte Carlo). We will make this one of our dinner stops everytime we are in town.
The food was delicious ,the service was excellent and the drinks were great. It was our 22nd Anniversary and they didn't give us a complimentary dessert but the overall experience was great.
Best steak in New Orleans!!
My wife had the sea food platter, lobster tails and shrimp were cooked perfect. Wait staff was delightful! Would highly recommend.
This was a great restaurant and the steaks were on point. The waiting staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and have great suggestions
My Best restaurant experience in New Orleans and the most expensive.
Had the shrimp cocktail and Ceasar salad to start. Very large shrimp and the cocktail sauce had a strong horseradish base. Very tasty. The ceasar salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. Ordered the Delmonico med /rare with 9oz lobster tail. The steak was juicy and seasoned perfectly and the lobster tail was amazingly tender. Not the usual rubberized tails so many places serve. Service was Exceptional ! The staff were very attentive to all tables. Several different staff attended to our every need. There's live music and plenty of outdoor seating too. Wonderful restaurant for special occasions. Desert was cheesecake with strawberries and chocolate sauce. We will definitely return again. Please treat yourself to NO Chophouse.
Best Steaks we've had in decades! MJ was fantastic. I loved his drink recommendations! Memorable evening! Thank you!
The food is amazing, honestly the best steak is have had in a long time. A bit pricey but worth it. Only issue we had was after we left and signed the check our waiter came outside to make aure he got the correct amount, he was worried about 6 cents! Then he was upset because the tip wasnt enough for him. Very unprofessional and I wouldnt dine in here again after that.
Excellent, from ambience to service to food. Yes, the onion rings are really a must-try think of huge onion rings with fried chicken batter.
Food was amazing, staff was great, but we had to wait nearly an hour for our meal after sitting down.
We had to wait 30 minutes for our 8:00 reservation. Lovely piano player and great ambiance. The food was OK. Make sure you specify individual side or they will get you the larger sized portion. Even though the waiter said an individual side is a good portion for two people and is what we thought we ordered, what they brought us looked like the larger size. We did ask if they were individual sized and the server didn't know (which shouldn't they?) said let me check and make sure they charge you for the individual. I partially blamed myself for not specifying. We had the creamed spinach, which I didn't care for. My husband was OK with it. It was molten lava hot. The potato's lyonnaise were good. Also very hot. The steak was good. Love the charbroiled flavor. We did try the bacon appetizer. It was OK. They served it with a side of ketchup I think. What would've been nice is maybe a maple bourbon syrup to dip the bacon in. Maybe even add a little touch of cayenne or something spicy. The sweetness would've balanced out the saltiness of the bacon.
Great steaks with excellent taste. Priced like Ruth Chris too - so it better be good
The crab bisque is the best I've ever tried and and is a must for anyone who likes seafood. I ordered the DelMonoco steak and it was perfectly cooked....although maybe a wee bit too much salt in in the seasoning but not enough to make it inedible....it was still very good. The service was top notch and very personable. ...I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The prices are a bit on the higher side but you get what you pay for there...which is excellent food. Overall...a very enjoyable experience.
We stumbled by accident on this restaurant. The food was delicious. The Caesar salad, the shrimp, the prime steak and the filet mignon were prepared to perfection. Delicious sides. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. We enjoyed our evening here, as well as the live music during dinner. Highly recommended for meat lovers.
I can't stop thinking about Chophouse. If you are in New Orleans and you find yourself in luck to eat here, do it. Please. That was my first time having a steakhouse experience and I don't want to ever go to any other place. I keep randomly telling my friends "I miss Chophouse." It was so delicious.
The food is very good, but the service was below average. I don't think a single employee cracked a smile. It all came off as a bit pretentious. It started with a manager at the door and carried down through the servers. I enjoy eating at high-end steakhouses, but I would never recommend this location.
This is my favorite steakhouse in New Orleans. It is an intimate setting with 5 star service. The food is amazing. You have to try their bacon appetizer and creamed spinach side. We make reservations here every time we are in the city.
Thank you for accommodating us. The experience was awesome
Three stars is a generous rating for Chophouse, New Orleans. We assumed higher standards based on previous consumer reviews. Many dishes were well prepared but steaks were under cooked or over cooked. The service was very slow. With dinner reservations at 8 for a party of 7, we were seated at 8:15. We were served water at 8:25 and bread wasn't placed on the table until 8:35. We ordered at 8:45 and sat through dinner which was finally served at 9:10, tolerating live music which sounded like a piano bar audition of someone they surely would not hire. If you see no alternative, entrees which were well prepared were the stone crab claws and broiled lobster. Ordering any cut of steak is not recommended.
My husband & I went for our anniversary. This is the 2nd time we've gone, whenever we visit Nola we make sure to come here for dinner... Literally the best steak we've ever had and amazing drinks. All around this place is amazing best food drinks and exceptional customer service.
My wife and I dined here on our last night in NO. Jason, our server, helped ensure we had a superb experience! We both had a filet, cooked perfectly, with the baked potato (one of the largest we have ever seen) and the garlic spinach. Honestly, one of the best cuts of meat we have ever had. The char they put on the outside is just amazing and we look forward to coming back on our next trip!
Amazing food and service!! Can't wait to go again next time we are in town🥰! …
Very nice steak house in nice part of the city. Small intimate upscale steak house. Amazing steaks and the hashbrowns are to die for. Did not care for the baked shrimp they were a little overdone. Entertainment was fantastic. A man and his piano he also walked around the restaurant and sang accappalla. Beautiful voice. All in all a nice place to eat. Great for groups table next to us ordered a seafood platter appetizer and I wanted to go sit w them. Looked amazing boiled, broiled, or fried lobster, stone crab claw, shrimp, crab legs plus more. Also a dim romantic place for date night.
Fantastic steaks and atmosphere. My steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Out waiter was excellent and made sure we had everything we needed. The band was good too and added to the atmosphere.
Great ambience, great food, great service! Get the garlic spinach! The redfish was surprisingly delicious!
The upscale experience here was truly A1. When providing our party of new patrons from Michigan it was the best meal, service, and atmosphere every. We personal what to thanks Reed/Reid...the girls wanted me to spell his name right. Thanks again for the experience. Will definitely recommend.
A very enjoyable meal the steak are great, we'll cooked as ordered. The service was excellent and very attentive. My only area of improvement would be the sides, which could have had a better variation . I will definitely return.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is amazing. Unfortunately it was raining, but the patio dining is quaint and beautiful. Inside is comfortable with a great pianist. She played Jimi Hendrix, Sublime, and Blind Melon to name a few bands. The valet was out in the pouring rain helping us with our car. The wait staff was very attentive and was quick with suggestions. The sides are plenty big enough to share with two to 3 people, and the steak cuts were wonderful.
My husband made reservations for my birthday. The manager chose a bottle of champagne at my husband's request and had a card from the staff waiting on us. The food was amazing. We had the crab cocktail appetizer, steak, fries, and the onions and mushrooms. It was all fabulous. Roshaun and Brandon were amazing at meeting all our needs. And the birthdsb cake was delicious. Overall, we would definitely return and recommend!! Thank you
Just a classic, American steakhouse experience. If you are solo skip the tables and go right to the bar. A real drink poured by a real bartender. Food is exquisite. Service is New Orleans High Class. Don’t bother with anything but a ribeye steak and a side.....
We had an outstanding dinner with a phenomenal waiter named Roshaun. Get the 22 ounce bone in rib-eye.
Food was delicious as always but the customer service prior to was disappointing. I reserved for a dinner party of 15 but the next day there was a change in plans, things happen. The lady answering the phone was so rude, made u feel as though you committed a crime because of a cancellation. Tried to reserve for a smaller party, my reservation was confirmed then canceled due to my prior change. Had to have a family member make a reservation because the birthday girl really wanted to dine here for a 1st time. As the party of 5 arrived the front door was rude. But the waitress and manager made the experience worth dining any how. My husband and I have patronized this restaurant many times prior, I was disappointed in the process
Had high hopes for this place and being from Chicago I know a good steak. The service was good but the salad came out with barely any dressing and our steaks, well where to start. The "Pittsburgh char" they claim was literally just burning the steak, no char about it. Ordered medium and if it wasn't for the char would have called it rare and my girlfriends was worse. Ashamed for I could tell the meat was of good quality but the cook really ruined my experience and for the price, so sad.
It was very good. I was very pleased with my meal. However I have had better steaks in other places. The service was very good. There are a lot of choices in New Orleans and I will explore other places next time.
To be honest, we were waayyy over charged for what we got. I am a foodie and a former wine rep. I know great service, food, and drinks. This was a joke. I was with very wealthy people that can afford the best of the best but the prices on the menu were way less than what our tab reflected.
Just had dinner there on Christmas Day. It's exorbitantly expensive, so as such, I anticipated an exquisite meal. Unfortunately, that is not what I got. THE NEGATIVES: The $72 dollar 12 ounce Filet was marginal at best. I tried salting it, adding sauce, but ultimately concluded it simply wasn't a high quality cut of meat. The $115 dollar bone in filet was also mediocre, which is appalling considering how much they charge for it. The caesar salad was lackluster and tasted like something you would get in a buffet line. The "hash browns" you order as a side are actually just lumpy breakfast potatoes that taste like the ones you get in the frozen food aisle at the Grocery store. Those were a disappointment as well. The servers are friendly, but some of the support staff didn't seem particularly well-trained. The little guy that brings you the fork for dessert, just kinda plopped the fork down in front of us or slid it over to you. If they're gonna charge preposterously high prices, I'd like to see that fork formally and delicately placed beside me, like they have done at every other high end steakhouse I've ever visited. Lastly, there is no charming, whimsical restaurant manager that comes over to chat with you and ask you how you're enjoying your $665 dollar meal. That's usually a nice touch. THE POSITIVES: Great musician playing piano and singing!
One of the best if not the best steak house in the city. Great apps, great ambiance, and perfectly cooked steaks. The wine menu is top notch and blue cheese stuffed martinis that are out of this world.
Friendly staff. Excellent food! We came off a long drive to New Orleans and were a little underdressed. This was not a problem for the restaurant and we were served immediately. They also had a wonderful wine selection.
Great spot with solid piano music. My favorite thing about the place is they have Stone Crab part of the year, which isn’t an easy find in New Orleans. The steaks are always on point. Save some room for the giant chocolate cake!
After discovering that the place we had planned to go for dinner was closed, we ended up here. The menu is small but contains all the things you'd want at a steak house. We both had the 8 oz fillet and both were cooked perfectly. Dinner door two with a glass of wine was $125, so not exactly cheap but really quite good food.
This place was excellent. The service was impeccable and the food was exceptional. The wife and I had the filet, it just melted! Thank you!
Sat at the bar, the bartender Mike was amazing. My wife and I split the bone in ribeye and loaded baked potato. For was excellent the staff did a great job of making feel right at home. 5 Star restaurant. Super good piano player
Um...nothing to say but...WHAT? fabulous. Ro'shawn was awesome...steaks were from another world GOOD. Best restaurant experience of 2022...but it's early! Lol.
Service and atmosphere was excellent. Hardly no wait time and the waiters were on point. Recommend give it a try. Food was tops.
The food and service was excellent. Only thing that shocked me was the price on stone crabs!!! I’ve eaten these all over the country and never seen them anywhere near $28/claw! Literally cheaper to order them to your doorstep!
Stone Crab - A+ Buttery & Clean Taste
Filet - A+ Best I ever had! Soft & Tender!
Gumbo - A Delicous Roux!
The atmosphere was nice, patio calm and romantic and the dining hall popping and active!
The Chophouse is A1!
Our experience was pretty marginal. The food was fine after we drew attention to the fact that they'd attempted to pick the bacon off of the salad rather than remaking it, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Skip the cocktails.
One of the best steaks we've ever eaten. The Delmonico with the Cajun seasoning was fantastic paired with a loaded baked potato (which was seriously the biggest potato ive ever seen). The staff there was attentive and friendly with our children.
I only leave reviews when the place impresses me. This place blew me away. If you're in Louisiana you definitely have to try it. It's not cheap so don't be leaving low review because you can't afford it. You'll probably be around $150 with a glass of wine but it's worth every penny !!! High end service.
Very nice restaurant! The food was amazing with huge portions! Excellent service, Jason was our waiter and he was very good! Will definitely come back and will continue to recommend this place! PS the cheesecake was the best!!!;
The service and the food was excellent! I defiantly recommend this restaurant! My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at the Chophouse! We will surely be back!
I love chophouse it was my 2nd visit. I was a lil disappointed I could not get a fried lobster tail but the service is consistent and drinks are great. Was so glad Angel's envy rye was on the list.
The service was impeccable. The food was divine from the succulent Lobster to the steak will recommend this place to any and every one that will loosen thought I had enough until I was recommended the cheesecake thought I had enough until I was recommended the cheesecake that was delicious
8 stars out of 5. Service was very prompt and very kind, and the steaks were just plain amazing. The sides and vegetarian options were also silly good. If your want a damn good meal, head here. There will be no regrets!
Love love this place. The Staff is always so nice and the food is worth the trip!
Delicious food. The porterhouse for 2 was amazing! Great ambiance and lighting. Service was phenomenal. I swear my water kept magically refilling.
The steak superb, i had a 14oz filet great, my wife the smaller filet both prepared to perfection. The service not so good. Was not told about the stone crab claws or the seafood special. When ask for desert the waiter slammed the menu down on the table and said they are on the upper right. When we left no one ask about our meal nothing.
Incredible food, best sea bass I've ever had and the filet was definitely one of the best also.
Enjoyed our perfectly prepared Pittsburgh style Cajun Delmonico Steaks and our barrel aged Old Fashions. George “ Michael “ took great care of our party! Thanks
Will return next time in New Orleans.
Good dinner, but I expected excellent at the price. Had to send one steak back as it was under done. Really, not a spectacular night. I've had better service and dinner here before. Perhaps just an off night for them.
The atmosphere is pure class, white tablecloth dining and the food at this restaurant is unbelievably good. The service was over the top outstanding and our server Amanda went above and beyond to make our dining a total experience!
Food was amazing! Music was awesome, and service was over the top…. George deserves 6 stars out of 5!! Highly recommended!
The waiter was nice and very detail about the meau, and took care of are table of 6. The steak was cook just the way I like and they do ask if your steak was cooked to your satisfaction once you cut into it
Absolutely delicious.
It's pretty pricey but it was the highlight of my vacation, I highly recommend the seabass.
This review is coming from someone who likes thier steak medium well. When I got my steak it was well done but my wife's was cooked as requested. The steak was ok nothing special but thier side dishes were pretty good especially the loaded baked potato.
We had a great dinner at the Chophouse. It's one of the best experiences we have ever had at a restaurant with the food AND the service. We have been before and every trip is amazing. This trip, we had a birthday. The Chophouse gave my partner at the table a birthday card. The steaks were great, 22 ounce ribeye, center cut ribeye, and filet were all cooked perfect to order. The sides are huge, this restaurant isn't like most of the other fine restaurants, the dress is "dressy casual" and whatever you're wearing to experience new Orleans is fine in true big easy style, and there's huge portions instead of a fancy little piece of food in the middle of the plate. You can add lobster tails to your meal and they're also big enough to split. The baked shrimp appetizers were also good, and I recommend The Prisoner wine with ribeye is my recommendation.
One of the best fillets I have ever eaten! Prime truly makes the difference! Great staff, musicians, and management. I highly recommend eating a steak here!
good steakhouse with a nice selection at the bar. The steak is delicious and the sides are awesome too. Also it is said to be not that expensive, prepare to spend at least $50 per person without drinks and tax.
It is absolutely worth the money though
Always my favorite stop in this beautiful city. I've been cooking professionally for years. Not yet have I found a more excellently cooked steak while here in the big easy. Greatly appreciate the excellent service. High quality cocktails Mikey I owe you one that ol fashioned killed it. Filet mignon will ultimately change your world. As well the cajun style delmonico could alter states of the world. Keep it up all of you!! See you in a year. Chef Neebs
¡!¡PHENOMENAL!¡! Best steakhouse experience ever! Not only were the staff the best and personable and helpful, but the food was exceptional. Has the bone-in ribeye and baked potato.... Jesus Christ! It was thee best ever! This has set the bar and standard for steak and steakhouses! If you're in the New Orleans area, this IS your must try!!!
Remarkable steaks and great specialty drinks
Outstanding service and very, very good food. After Covid-19, the crowds are four times larger with reservations well before a must. The food is significantly higher and the service is still very good.
Everything was impeccable! #ChefsKiss
Brandon our server was the best! This was my first time here and I had 5 star service. Definitely will recommend to ally family and friends .
I originally went to Chophouse for our Pastor's anniversary celebration. It was my first time and I enjoyed everything! From the hostess, waiters, atmosphere, food, and the managerial staff. Everything was great. So much we went back the very next week for Mother's Day!! I always go to Ruth Chris and have been for years! I have a new go to place in Chophouse New Orleans!!
Everything was amazing starting from the valet person and hostess to the waiter and bus person, the bartender and manager and everyone one in between, the food was incredible served with excellence in a very beautiful atmosphere.
❤💯👍 …
Food was wonderful.
Staff was super professional and attentive.
Setting was romantic and quaint.
Would definitely go here for fine dining.
Great location. Food was amazing great atmosphere! Birthday celebration was a success.
Anniversary dinner was wonderful for our first visit . We live here and think it's a find we're glad to say we want to visit again soon .
Super venue and the service team was top notch. Wine menu was very good. I have to say I was surprised at the steak. I expected a better rib eye for the money.
Great food and great drinks and excellent service. The whole staff was awesome.
We had the porterhouse for two, onion rings, potato wedges, and the pork ribeye apetizer. The steak was more tender than a fresh loaf of bread. The pork ribeye is absolutely fabulous. It is essentially a 1/2-inch thick slice of bacon with very little fat. The house sauce that you brush on it with the back of a spoon is delicious! That was the first time having the sauce. Our server was beyond phenomenal, and I am a picky customer that dislikes having to request a refill, yet I do not want a server to hover. The presentation of the meal is dramatic and handled by more than one person. We had to get go boxes since we could not eat it all. The paper sack we kept for a souvenir. LOL Laugh after you see the quality of the bag.
best service ever came early on valentines day with no reservations and we're sat promptly across from piano .even played a few requests. always come here when we are in town. no complaints love the carpaccio
Delicious food. Serving staff was very attentive and prompt with anything we needed. This has become a go to dinner anytime I am in the city
It started raining mid meal while we were in the courtyard for dinner. They found us a spot inside even though it was packed. Also provided free dessert for having to move. Above and beyond anything expected. Not to mention the food and drinks were amazing. Excellent food and even better service. Highly recommend!
Service was absolutely impeccable.
Loved this place. Nice upscale resturant, piano player, excellent food. The steaks are amazing, loved the shrimp cocktail. Service was on point. Def will be back.
Wonderful and friendly staff. April took great care of us being “Out Of Towner.” The ambiance was a stellar and was a proper steak dinner. Hans recommend places to visit and live music. Bone in rib eye, mushrooms and onions, and cocktails. An absolute dream!!
You can tell people here have pride in their city and want you to enjoy all the things - not only Burbon street but get out and explore and learn the culture. Favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Can’t wait to be back.
Great NY steak as it should be! Medium rear, burned outside, perfect. But coffee :( it’s not expresso, it’s something between Americano and something else.Bread... well it’s not French baguette as advertised in any way, nearest would be Italian hero, and guys please slice it at least, it is impossible to cut it using provided knife.
Fantastic atmosphere and very nice staff. The steack was really good but a bit overcooked on the outside. The cheescake was amazing.
Ate at Chophouse during Mardi Gra weekend. They have strong drinks, excellent menu selection, and informative, helpful staff. I ordered the crab bisque, Delmonico 10oz steak, and fully loaded baked potato. The portions were HUGE! Very flavorful charbroiled steak. I will come back next time I'm in Nola.
definitely the best rib eye steaks we've ever had. flavor was spectacular, service was first rate, experience was aweSome and well worth the price. we So recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back
One of the best steak place in New Orleans. Service is great, and their seafood is also great too. If you can pay its price, you won't regret coming to this restaurant.
Cool, rotating bar. Blue cheese stiffed olives in my martinis. Decent menu. Food staff leaves a bit to be desired, served wrong items twice, indifferent to comments.
Atmosphere was awesome, blue cheese salad, incredible but steaks were somewhat disappointing. FYI, if you have a limited budget for this meal, ask prices if not listed
We had the bacon with the Brooklyn French sauce it was a 10! The steak and fried lobster tail was delicious. The service and food was excellent!
Excellent service, Great steaks, Huge baked potato
Delicious meal with great service. You can never go wrong here. The seafood platter was amazing and so was my streak.
Sold as a center-cut ribeye, IMO, a ribeye just isn't a ribeye without the spinalis (super flavorful muscle that circles half way around the outside of the center of the ribeye). If you don't care for the outside of your steak CHARRED, you must tell them. The staff graciously re-cooked my steak for me. Lovely people. Chophouse is cozy, and their bisque, shrimp appetizer and key lime pie are fantastic.
Great food, staff is very knowledgeable. Definitely upscale and above average pricing, but worth the cost. You won't leave hungry.
I had their seafood platter as an appitizer and it was delightful. Lobster tails were fresh. Ordered the porter house steak and the seasoning was spot on with correct cooking tempature
The asparagus was absolutely horrible, I don't know why they'd serve something like that, especially since this is such a fancy place. But the filet mignon made it all worth it... absolutely divine! Made the "burn" of paying 3.00 an asparagus , that was the absolute opposite of the filet , burn less.
Best steakhouse I've ever been to by far. Split the porterhouse for two with my wife and we were both completely stuffed with some of the best steak ever. Slightly pricy but well worth it.
Delicious and romantic. Kenneth was great with the suggestion of the creamed spinach with the steak. The steak has a nice charred flavor. Was a great experience.
My fiancé and I ordered the Porterhouse steak with baked potato & asparagus. Steak was cooked to perfection! We were extremely pleased with our dinner & service!
On the high end but top notch food and classy service with a smile.
Food and service was excellent!
Very nice steak house experience! Service was excellent and so was the food! Great drinks as well. Not a regular place to go, but well worth it for a celebration
Fish was excellent, cooked to perfection. NY strip lacked any base flavor. Very odd for prime steak. Seasonings didn't help. Cooked perfectly, but it just laid there. Potatoes Lyonaise joined in. No melding of flavor.
It was very fancy and had a good atmosphere, the drinks were good. The food was just okay, but definitely not worth the price.
Cozy, relaxed ambiance. Impressive wine list. The steaks were fantastic. Lobster was just okay. Service was courteous and prompt.
We came here on a last minute decision and it turned out really good. We all got steaks and they were amazing. And the employees here were very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.
