This little neighborhood eatery/market/butcher is so yummy/friendly/more than reasonably priced. We both had meat and three but because we showed up after 7pm, when the place starts to put up the food, our choices were limited. I cant imagine how fantastic the food must be when the menu for the day is complete and freshly cooked. We were told that at 7am everyday, fresh biscuit sandwiches are offered at only $3.00! We are from Arizona and hoping to make it back for one of thes before we leave! Thank you so much for the gracious hospitality!

Roy's Meat Service is something more than a butcher shop and diner. This small shop felt like the local market and neighborhood hangout. This was the fourth or fifth time I have walked in the door in about the same number of years, but Roy knew my name. He called almost everyone who walked in the door by name while I was there. Stories were shared, jokes were told, and food was served. While I didn't have any of the prepared meals, I did shop the fresh meats. What he doesn't have on the shelf, he can get. Roy is a character, and his shop is a destination for the home chef. Give them a visit.

Decided to make my first Beef Wellington for Thanksgiving this year and the staff was so helpful and sweet and it came out just beautiful. They were very kind to trim up the tenderloin for me and I have never had a more lovely holiday meal. Thank you all so much! Highly reccomend!

Great neighborhood store! Awesome selection of meat to prepare yourself, as well as excellent & affordable hot lunch options. Everyone is super friendly and helpful as well. Perfect example of a local family business.

First time trying out RMS and I will definitely return. I tried the smoked chicken quesadilla and it was great. I paid $11 for an entree, side and drink and thought it was a steal. There was an outdoor seating area which was great for the dog.

Found them on Google when looking for shops to purchase Wagyu at. Got a massive steak from them at a great price of some Australian wagyu. Met Roy, he was incredibly nice and as pumped about the steak as I was. Also ended up grabbing some of their bbq while there, which was also great. Ended up doing a shoot out with the wagyu, a regular filet mignon, and a cheaper cut and the wagyu blew the other two away. Will be buying from Roy’s again.

I'm glad I found out about this place from a Friend name Bo Clayton. His pictures of Smoked Ribs and Chicken that he always posted looked so Delicious. So I goggled this place and went took a visit. Man I have became addicted to this place. I've had The Ribs,Chicken,Pulled Chicken and Saturday I had a FAT Burger off the Grill. All of what I've had was DELICIOUS. I met Jeff and we have became friend's! So Mr Roy Iam now one of your Favorite Customers! Your workers was so friendly too. See y'all Soon!

We live in Minnesota, got turned around one evening while we were walking around and found "Roy's Meat's"... Best place to find when your lost..i have not found Nor did we find a better "Southern" tasting restaurant in the areas we visited..and we ate out everyday for the week we were there...we think about when we are going to be able to take a road trip just for the cooking and bring some ribs and greens home and freeze it...I ABSOLUTELY recommend Roys above so many of the other "Southern" cooking places.. Just a great family business run right...!!

Bought the best steak of my life from here. It was wagyu but the price was reasonable and worth every penny in my opinion. Also got some premarinated country style (boneless) ribs and premarinated chicken. Both were to die for. Jeff Roy, you are the man keep up the good work.

Roy’s is a great local market that specializes in meat and drinks. They also have a surprisingly amazing meat and 3 lunch option that’s as good as any in town. Family that runs it is always so sweet, and treat the locals wonderfully. They even throw a block party each year fully catered for the neighborhood. Stop by if you are looking for a picnic in Shelby Park, or just need a quick food/drink fix!

I wouldn't go to Kroger unless I absolutely had to. This little store is the best. They will cut your choices while you wait...as thick or thin as you want. Support local. Support small. They have Mariah's smoked sausage...so good. Steaks were great ... Wish I lived near by.

This is one of the great hole in the wall places in the Shelby park area. They have all types of meat in there store, as well as meat to order. The menu is absolutely amazing!!! So many things to choose from, all wonderful! They even have Wagyu beef!!! You need to check this place out.

Roy's is a fantastic local gem. We stopped in for their daily home-cooked lunch menu- Fridays are fried catfish, and we had a fried catfish sandwich- WOW!! It was perfection. Perfectly crispy, and so delicious that I forgot to even take a picture. The portion size was so generous & filling that I didn't need any sides, but... the mac-n-cheese looked like a throw back to my grandma's- so, I'm sure we'll be back to try it.

My dad and I went here to get some ribeyes for mother’s day and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. They have a wide variety of different types of meat, fish, etc which all look amazing. This place makes you feel like your in a small town where everyone knows everybody. We will definitely be returning very soon!!!

Great service and even better product. Went there on 10/27/20 and got $120 worth of steak for a party. I plan on spending at least that once a month with them. A slab of short ribs grabbed my eye while I was there.

They have a awesome meat selection and the people who work there are really nice. They had a awesome Craft Beer selection as well! Tonight I got a craft beer that’s made in Napa Valley, CA! Traveled to Nashville for a holiday family visit. Researched butcher shops for standing rib roasts, a holiday tradition. Butcher was helpful, and came out to greet me, proud of his work. And, deservedly so - a perfect cut, and delicious meat! His meat was as good as anything from SRF, Heritage and other marquee places!

Prices were great, meat tastes amazing. Only bad things I have to say their meat selection was very low and almost completely out. Also, they had 10 people on in the store and NOT EVEN the employees had masks or glaves. Very unsafe!!!

I'd give it 4 stars hands down if it had more consistent hours with their food. They told me today they don't sell hot food on Sundays or Mondays, which just seems odd to me. Chicken was great, and prices are fair.

Man I went into Roy's Meats for the first time today. When Roy greeted me I felt like we had grown up together. What a stand up guy. He then proceed to slice up some of the best looking filets I have ever seen. If the rain lets up they will find their way to my grill. So Roy, don't ever change your personality. Because if you were to become one of these too cool for school, opinionated personalities, we would have to ask you to go work at somewhere like, oh a local drum stand, vape shop or local east side burger joint. Rock on Roy.

Summertime means fresh, local tomatoes which means it's BLT time which means you need to get over to Roy's Meat Service for that good RMS bacon. Seriously, you would think that bacon is bacon, but Roy's is head and shoulders above supermarket bacon.

While I have always adored Roy’s for their amazing meat and produce choices every week, this review is for their chicken wings. Hands down best deal in town and hit of the Super Bowl party with zero leftovers. Everyone you meet here is amazing and will greet you with a smile and make you feel like an old friend ❤️
