Reviews of Big Al's Deli

Found this place on a TikTok video. Checked out the reviews and decided to go visit Al while passing through town. This is a great family run deli / eatery with great southern roots. I enjoyed the fried pork chops and my wife had the catfish. It was great visiting with Al and his son while we dined. If you enjoy soulful southern food in a quaint setting you should certainly check this place out!!!!

Amazing food, amazing people. Chicken and catfish were perfectly fried and juicy on the inside. Biscuits were buttery soft and delicious. Portions are very generous. Highly recommend!

Listen - this place is by far one of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had. The restaurant's internal space is small, but be prepared to park, and wait to be called for available seating. We waited maybe 10 minutes, and table turnover is steady.
I got the fried chicken breakfast and I cannot say enough good things about it. I had a conversation with the chef while he dredged the chicken about college football, and then he kept talking to us while our order was prepared. It was an amazing experience and you should take every opportunity to avail yourself of it.

This is a genuine greasy spoon mom n pop business. Its not big inside, but they will do their best to accommodate large parties. We were a group of 12 and they were able to seat us outside. The food is delicious and the portions are large. We only went for breakfast and everything we tried was so good that we went back a second time. Would have gone more but their was other restaurants I wanted to try. We had biscuits and gravy, which was different but still delicious. The omelettes are amazing and the biscuits and soft and moist.

Me and me wife went on a road trip to Nashville for a few days and when I say this is the best spot we ate at during the entire trip I am not lying. Not only was the food absolutely amazing and had a home cooked taste to it, the atmosphere is something out of a feel good movie about family. It honestly felt like going to your uncle's house and he cooked you a good hot meal and made sure you were comfortable the entire time. Big al can cook and I will definitely be back every time I visit Nashville, cannot recommend it enough.

This is an amazing local spot. The food is delicious and the portions are large. Big Al and his son AJ are incredibly warm and friendly hosts who make all customers feel welcome. We were there for breakfast but the burgers looked extremely tasty and we’ve heard lots online about his home made jerk sauce. 100% come here if you’re in Nashville.

This Germantown spot was rustic and charming and the breakfast couldn’t be beat. The father and son team do an amazing job. One of the best breakfasts I’ve heard in years.

We had a great lunch at Big Al's today! We arrived a little late for breakfast (it ends at 10:30am), so we had a few minutes to wait while we sat the counter and got to know Big Al, AJ and Mike. When you enter, you feel like you're in their home. We loved chatting with them and hearing the story of how Big Al's Deli came to be. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles (delicious and a LOT of food!) and I ordered the cherry fig pork loin (highly recommend). The biscuits and corn cakes were delicious as well. It felt like a truly local experience with so much character, unlike the other trendy Germantown restaurants. Don't miss this spot and come ready to linger for a bit and chat with these wonderful folks!

Good food, nice people and just all around a nice time. But please be warned , since i dont see many folks talking about it - you will wait unless for some weird reason no one is here. We live about 30 mins away and we get there about 20 mins before they open to get a seat and order. Also you will require a small nap after eating the food!

This was our first time in Nashville. We are foodies so we did our research and came here for breakfast! Al’s food was so good. The portions were huge for the price. If you want some good breakfast definitely make a stop in!
