A friend of mine told me about Von Hanson’s Meat. They’re like an old-fashioned butcher shop only I went there for sausages for my dog. She’s never had a treat she loves so much! She is a 13.5 year old Wheaton terrier and not a big eater. But now, if I mix a sausage in with her meal she gobbles it up. When I first brought it home, I was cutting it up for her in the kitchen and she came from the other end of the house to the kitchen just because she smelled it. I just bought a second order. The butchers are so very nice. Like at Petrinis in San Francisco in the Mission.

My boyfriend and I were planned on walking to Firehouse Subs next door to this location and instead dropped by Von Hanson’s. Which we were so glad to have spent our money towards multiple home cooked meals instead of buying one meal for the two of us. The prices can be expensive for certain products but I was very surprised to learn how reasonable their pricing was, especially for the quality for every item. This was a great experience, always heard my friends raving about Von Hanson’s, now I understand why! Definitely better meat quality and pricing than most things at Lakewinds Food Co-op. Will be back here, especially for the summer.

Love coming here! The staff is also so friendly and make the BEST recommendations. Pricing is a bit more than your typical grocery store meat cuts but is 100% worth the price - you cannot beat the quality and taste of the steaks here, measures up to the qualify of some of the best steakhouses in the cities. You also cannot beat the product selection or level of service here. I most definitely will continue to be a repeat customer.

Great experience every time! I switched to purchasing my meats from Von Hanson's instead of Cub Foods about 4 months ago and I'm very happy with my switch. For about the same price I get meat that always seems a lot higher quality and I get a more personalized experience. Plus I love all the additional goodies they have (frozen casseroles, amaaaazing buns, seasoned pretzels, sauces, etc.) My favorite things to get from them are all the different Bratwurst varieties! The Bacon, Wildrice and Cheese Brats are the BEST.

Great customer service. Good quality meats....nice little deli area too, with potatp salad, coleslaw, and meats for slicing. Lots of Boarshead products.....fresh baked hamburger buns, and hot dog bun, dinner rolls amd garlic bread..

Thanks Ollie for the perfect temp for my Filet Boat and also suggesting my leftovers go great with eggs. Had it with spinach and stuffed artichoke bellas. Eggs this am!! I still have a third of it left!! It is delicious!!

Great meat shop. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Their meat selection is good, and they have killer homemade brats and jerky. I, also, love their in-house-made buns. They are hands down the best hamburger buns I've used for grilling. Overall, this is a really good place to find your carnivorous cravings. Keep an eye out for mailer coupons. Today, I got a buy one get one free pound of brats.

The service was exceptional. Greeted with a hello when I walked in. Very large selection of meats on display, more types of cuts in the back upon request. I picked up a 8lbs brisket and they trimmed the cap for me to my preference. I also purchased a 9lbs pork butt and 3lbs of short ribs. Very friendly conversation while they were packaging my order. They misquoted the price on the short ribs but immediately offered to honor the price without me requesting. They even walked my order to my vehicle for me without asking. I will definitely return for any of my cookout supplies. Keep up the great work!

I get better service here than restaurants . These guys take care of you, remember what you like and have integrity when it comes to customer service. I always have a great experience and the selection is better than any market I’ve come across in regards to meats. Finely smoked items and great cuts-this is my to go place. They aren’t selfish about giving you a sample of items you want to try. I don’t mind spending a little bit more especially on quality and service.

I will never go anywhere else to buy meat. I signed up for the newsletter, it's a great way to get bogos for different meats. My favorites are stuffed chicken breast and porkchops, kabobs and skewers, ground beef and patties, and beef sticks. The employees are all super friendly. Super bonus: there are always samples of the flavored pretzels and pickles.

I went in looking for last minute duck for our Friendsmas party. The staff is amazingly helpful and I was able to get 3 beautiful duck breasts. The gentleman helping me was a chef and so knowledgeable! We made a classic crispy skinned duck and our guests raved about the quality. One of our guests had never had duck that he liked and he loved the duck. I will be a repeat customer at least once a year for our new tradition of duck for Friendsmas. WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! If you're looking for great quality please give Van Hanson's your business, they won't disappoint!

I went into VH-Richfield tonight to buy myself a ribeye after a long day's work. I was met at the door by Jesse, who pointed out the best ribeye in the case, explained why it was the best, and demonstrated the benefits of this particular steak versus the others. He asked how I planned on cooking it, and after listening to my technique, offered a simple modification. After taking his recommendation, and using his technique, I am convinced this guy knows his stuff. I worked in specialized customer service management roles for many years and I would be thrilled to have a guy like Jesse on my team. Von Hanson's is never the cheapest, but I don't go there for discounts-- I go for excellent meat and amazing know-how. Jesse is the man. Will definitely be back and recommend others!!!
