Reviews of Emily's Lebanese Deli
This was an excellent experience for Sunday lunch sitting outside under the small pergola attached to the deli/cafe which is in a residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff and terrific portions of food. We enjoyed the large appetizer plate with hummus, olives, feta and babaganoush and flatbread and entrees of chicken and rice and potatoes with a spiced red sauce. Entrees come with soup or salad. Good coffee and recommended.
I recommend coming here. The food was delicious and the service was personable. The prices are reasonable as well. I look forward to eating here again next time I am near. (and there is plenty of parking in the rear).
I love this place because it's so family orientated when you walk in you feel like well anyway I felt like the great auntie. Or the long lost grandma. The staff is so friendly and very attentive. I went there for my birthday my niece took me because I love their spinach pie and baklava. When I finished my spinach pie and my taboui one of the staff cs.e over to our table and asked who was the birthday girl .Then sat a plate in front of me with a slice of baklava and told me happy birthday. I've always loved that place even when I was younger. It's been a family-owned place for as long as I can remember. And they treat everyone that walks through the door just like part of their family plus they make the best baklava. Not too sweet and not too much juice running down very very very good you got to try it
Food was pretty good. Enjoyed the lamb quite a bit. The rest of the order wasn't bad, just nothing of note. Portions seemed somewhat small outside of the meat. Atmosphere was pleasant and the service was nice. Good location where you can chill right next to the Northeast Farmer's Market. No wifi is unfortunate.
Visited this wonderful place while on vacation in Minneapolis during Thanksgiving. My family used to make Lebanese food every year, but has since stopped due to distance. This food really brought back memories and was just like my family used to make. It was so good I made sure to bring extra back to Indiana with me. Thank you!
Impressive and really good food and service. I say this as someone who spent most of my life in Jordan. Great quality and price!
I drive 5 hours to get to Emily's as often as I can, and it's worth every minute of the effort. Reminds me of the food mom used to make. Love it.
We have been coming here for four generations. Our family is Lebanese, and it is a special treat for us! We always get to go orders for Christmas and special occasions we always sit upstairs! Love it!
Great little place where you can either sit down or take out. The cashier/waitress was very friendly! I got take out, a 1/2 grilled chicken kabob and a 1/2 kefta kabob both with rice, the yogurt dip lubin and some tabbouleh. The lubin was ok, not what I had pictured but that's on me. The tabbouleh was super fresh and flavorful, great to put on the bread. Both the chicken and kefta were freshly grilled and delicious, as was the rice.
I'm a new customer here, so far limited to takeaway hummus, baba ganoush, olives, and tabouli. Once you've had the real thing made locally, it's kind of impossible to go back to supermarket versions. Eating in on the extensive menu is next on my list.
Cute little local neighborhood staple of Lebanese cuisine. I enjoyed the lamb kabob, lamb roast soup, spinach pie, & baklava. I would definitely suggest any one interested in the neighborhood or just passing by on university. If it's good enough for Guy Fieri it's got to be good enough for me.
Stop ✋ Don't go anywhere else. You are at the BEST Lebanese restaurant you can get on this side of the ocean. Now sit down and enjoy the deliciousness. Smile. 😁 …
The best Lebanese food in the twin cities period. Helpful staff delicious recipes is small and sometimes crowded but it also has a little space outside. Just Delicious and authentic you don't need anything more.
It was our first time to visit this restaurant; hence, we ordered many dishes. The place is clean, nice, and cozy. We ordered hummus, spinach pie, Kibbi patty, lamb shish kabob, and the Lebanese chicken & rice. The Tabouli salad was recommended to us by our server. It’s very good! We enjoyed the food especially the lamb shish kabob, the Lebanese chicken & rice, and the crispy spinach pie. The lamb shish kabob is as good as it looks. It’s tender and has the right amount of spices. It’s best to dip the meat with Tabouli salad. Overall, we’re happy with this NE restaurant!
Friendly service, clean environment, appropriate portion size, good food. The hummus was delicious if you like garlic, which I love. Baba ganoush was super creamy with the right amount of smokiness. Tabouli was good- lemony and fresh but could use maybe a pinch more salt. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the lamb shish kabobs. There seemed to be no seasoning at all on them, which is a missed opportunity to do the lamb justice. I would give Emily's another try, though. Their little patio is cute and can accommodate about 4 parties with about 5 people each.
Family owned restaurant with fantastic food and service. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. This is place is iconic in northeast Minnespolis
Loved visiting this local traditional deli. Having grown up in the neighborhood, I'd only been to visit once before but as an adult, I'll go back often. Lebanese cuisine is unique and really flavorful.
My friend had a Lebanese salad, and ordered grape leaves to go. We sampled them and they were really nutritious and delicious.
Locally owned and operated by the third generation. A local gem for sure!
Landmark of NE Mpls. Brings a unique flavor to the middle east assortment in this part of town. Meat pies, Kibbeh raw or baked, tabbouli or course. Yummy.
Outstanding Lebanese Food! I’ve been coming here off and on for 20 years. Never once disappointed. Eat in or take out.
We have been enjoying the total Emily's experience for years. A NE Mpls gem and family owned!
My first time having Lebanese, and I was surprised on how good it was! The staff was really friendly helpful.
If you live in Minneapolis and haven't been to Emily's I honestly question your sanity. I didn't grow up eating Lebanese food, but somehow this cuisine always gives me the 'warm fuzzy' feeling of familiarity and contentment. The staff is great. Prices are hard to beat. Try the meat pie!
Addendum: If you fancy yourself a burger connoisseur, you'd be remiss to pass up the kafta burger. Hand to God it's my favorite burger anywhere.
LOVE EMILYS. Have been going here since I was a kid and have had many family gatherings in their upstairs with a larger group. The tabouli is the best in town.
Such amazing food and service. They're always a little busy which goes to show how much business they get but it doesn't get in our way. My husband's family is of Serian descent, so this is a pretty standard go-to spot for us. Food is always well prepared, tastes great, and if you sit inside, it truly feels like your grandma's dining room.
For years this has been my favorite restaurant. The staff are knowledgeable and generous, the food is absolutely divine. If you’re able to dine in, you will not be disappointed. Each dish is heavenly and absolute perfection.
The tabouli is fantastic, love their cabbage rolls, grape leaves and the kibbi. My parents went there quite often, while I was growing up. Unfortunately, I didn’t appreciate the food back then, boy did I miss out!
Delicious food with amazing service. Best raw kibbi ive ever had.
We had an excellent lunch at Emily's ... Never disappointed when we eat here.
Tabbouleh was excellent. With a constant stream of customers coming in for it while we were dining. The secret is out. Ordered the chicken kabob with rice. Enjoy the garlic dill sauce served with it. Split a custard and baklava for dessert. It has stood the test of time in it's Northeast Minneapolis location and is worth a stop
Not only is Emily's a neighborhood institution in northeast Minneapolis, it is also hands down by far one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in the Twin Cities! Emily’s is one of the first of its kind opening its doors in 1973. Emily's is a taste of Lebanon. If you enjoy Greek, Turkish, or Iranian food, you will not be disappointed when visiting Emily's. Truthfully, there is a great deal of culinary overlap when comparing Lebanese cuisine to other Middle Eastern & Eastern Mediterranean varieties.
I personally recommend the homemade grape leaves or dolma. They sell them by the pound at the deli. Their house made cucumber & garlic sauces are next to none making great additions to your dolmas; when served hot, the sauces truly enhance the flavor. Traditional staples like hummus & eggplant with tahini are good. The baked kibbeh & falafel are phenomenal. For the "adventurous foodie," I suggest trying the raw kibbeh with olive oil; not for the faint hearted.
I have tried the raw kibbeh, but I prefer it baked. The seating area is relatively small compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants in the area. With that said, it fills up fast on weekends. Admittedly, I have yet to try their baklava.
If their baklava can outperform the baklava offered at Nicollet Avenue's Christos, in my opinion, they will have earned top spot for best baklava in the Twin Cities.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants (top 5 in the world), and also the best Lebanese restaurant in the United States.
The tabouli and raw kibbi are perfect, not because I’ve ever been to Lebanon or because I know what tabouli or kibbi should taste like, but because I’ve been to countless Lebanese restaurants in America, and Emily’s food just tastes the best.
Great food but very slow service which is disappointing. If you only use two servers then turn up the speed to take orders, get food out, and ring up transactions. Today was the second time and food times take too long. Okay off my soap box but they are friendly!
Onto the food, we love the lamb shank special! The cooked kibbi, baklava, tabbouleh, and hummus are delicious! The lamb and beef skewers would be exceptional but needs salt.
Great hummus and tabbouli. Portions for other meals are too small.
I love this place! The cabbage rolls and the stuffed zucchini’s are very flavorful and full of color. There are tons of gluten free options too! The waitress spent extra effort and time to tell me what exactly was in each dish and she actually cared about my questions and dietary restrictions. There was a bit of a wait because they were so popular even on a holiday. Great desserts too!!
Always warm and welcoming eating there. The food is always amazing and flavorful! I had the lamb kebabs with zucchini, onions, rice and Tobouli.
Update 2022: still love this place still some of the best food I have had.
Great customer service great food. I have never had an issue with Anything I have ever ordered from here
Nice place with great lunch options. Small place with great food.
Another local favorite and for good reason!
Excellent food, unique offerings, friendly personable service
Disappointed- We've had great experiences in the past, but if this had been my first visit, I might not return.
The good: tabouli, fresh feta, cabbage rolls, baklava (basics)
The bad: the grape leaves were over-salted and very old (rock hard, brittle rice). They should have been thrown out, not served. The Baba Ghannuj used to be the best we've ever had- texture, smokiness, etc.- but this batch was overly bitter and lacking depth. Hope this place gets back to where it was, and I'll update this review when gets there!
Have loved this place for years. The food is authentic and amazing.
Ive been going here for YEARS. Very glad this family owned, run business is still in operation.
I have always loved their food, until now. Once they decided to stop using garlic in my favorite dish... Garlic is a big deal to me, and a big part of what the flavor of my meal used to be... Without it, things go bland to me... Unfortunately, it may be time for a new favorite place to go.
Amazing food. Hummus is a little off. Tabouleh is fantastic and so is everything else I tried so far! Delicious food in this underrated gem. Also owned by a middle eastern family and you often see family members there. Prices are decent but not cheap. I think it's worth it because it's hard to find good middle eastern food in the cities.
Been going for years, food's always the same, delicious, no one messes with Grandma Emily's recipes.
** OPEN UNTIL 9PM ** (Maybe one day Google will get it right...)
I always enjoy stopping by this family owned staple in my NE Mpls neighborhood to pick up their amazing Tabouli salad, salad dressing, hummus and pita from their deli. The other night I added a couple slices of Baklava and did not regret it one bit– SO DELICIOUS! Next time you find yourself on University Ave heading towards NE Mpls, make sure you stop at Emily’s, open until 9pm!!!!
we ordered their full size chicken kabob and half size lamb gyro. the chicken kabob was very delicious, one of my favorite Lebanese food near the area. i wish the full size portion was bigger, though i really enjoyed the mix of wild rice and their chicken kabobs! the only difference between the half and full size was only the amount of chicken. rice amount didn't double. lamb gyro tasted more like steak to me. overall, small/just enough portion, fair price, highly recommended!! i would also suggest calling in advance for pick up, as the wait time was around 50-mins
I went here for a work lunch, and it was phenomenal! My favorite part is how low key it is. The staff are super friendly and the menu has an awesome array of options, and everything is so fresh and well made. Also, their deli cases are a feast for the eyes with take home options for deserts, appetizers, and more. So GOOD!
Really good Lebanese food. Only recommendation is to get some little Turkish tea glasses
Best hummus! Lovely spinach pie! Great service whether you're getting deli items to go or dining in. They've been a quality neighborhood staple for decades. Nice clean interior with additional upstairs seating. Off street parking lot. Closed on Tuesdays.
Another guy and I were just installing a new boiler and we were generously gifted with an amazing lunch feast! We watched them prepping the fresh veggies and meats all morning long the aromas were mouth watering. The owner and his staff were extremely hospitable and kind.
Great food, authentic and quality!
I love this place! Literally food just like my grandmother and dad used to make. Step out of your nomal food style and give it a try!
Delicious and authentic Lebanese cuisine, very friendly staff. Try the Daily special and taste: Kibbeh, stuffed cabbage rolls, stuffed grape leaves and Tabbouleh on the side!!
Good tasting food at a very affordable price. Friendly staff. Sometimes busy, but understandable and worth the wait.
Best Lebanese ever! Best tabouli I've ever had. I'm 34 and 16 years ago, I loved this place so much then (having eaten it for years), they catered my grad party from high school. It's amazing. Support them!
Always consistent, always delicious, never expensive. Unpretentious, truly a gem.
Unfortunately, not accessible - bathrooms are upstairs, and seating is a little tight due to small space. If you have mobility issues/accessibility needs, recommend getting takeout or delivery.
We came here last Sunday evening with the family and we had a blast! I like their Lentils and rice, it is made right and well balanced. The Tilapia has a nice crust and the saltiness is okay. The Kafta Kabob was full of flavor. We will definitely be coming back.
Been going to Emily's for 35 years! Absolutely the best Lebanese food in the city. One of the few that still serves raw kibi!
We've eaten there for years, friends of the family
Good food. Very filling. Love baked kibbi, chicken and rice, and kofta kabob.
a lebanese friend of mine introduced me to emily’s about 10 years ago & i fell in love, it’s as authentic as his mom makes. the spinach pies are my fave, but the cabbage rolls, grape leaves, kousa, tabouli, all of it, so good.
I love it. Emily's is a small resident but the food is wonderful. The tabouli is soooooo good. I ordered the tilapia and it was delicious. Crispy on the outside and nice and tender flaky on the inside. It's a family run business ,the staff are very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Parking was a breeze ,however if you plan to go I recommend you do it during off times. This is because the restaurant is small and it fills up quickly. Whatever time you do choose to go I KNOW you will find it well worth the effort.
I've been going here for YEARS. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the staff and the foods great too😄🤭! -I'm such a regular, they know what I want before I tell them. Just thinking about the chicken kabob is making me drool.😋😄
-Great place to bring out of town friends to as well.👍Enjoy.😋🙋♀️ …
Family owned, homemade cooking! Delicious spinach pies and tabouli - so fresh! Had the lentils and rice and it had just the right seasoning! Love this place!
Love the place, have loved it for years. Family run joints like this are the best. But- if your hours run until a certain time it’s a bummer not to be able to order something to pick up 20 min before you close. I get it, I’ve spent my life in the service industry and it pains you to say a table 10 min before close. But a takeout order has always been quick and easy, and I was told by a salty girl on the phone that they close in 15 min and the only thing available would be cold items. So again- love the place, but don’t expect a last minute to go order at the end of the night.
I had a good meal and my wife had a terrible meal. We went on a quiet Sunday night and got a spinach pie (good), entrees, and baklava (bad). My Lebanese green beans was a flavorful stew with chunks of lamb and green beans. My wife's lentil and rice dish looked over-cooked and dry - it tasted very bland too. Her kebab was also very undercooked, a little bit of darkness on the edges but the onions were raw (and quite powerful). The baklava had lots of orange blossom syrup that completely overwhelmed everything else.
My daughters and I travel from Northbranch a few weekends a year to grub on thier delicate array of Lebanon deli style cuisine in a quaint, chill atmosphere. You will be delighted with the taste but not so much the service; and if you need to tinkle make sure to make a pit stop somewhere before you arrive
This food is delicious, with the fine aromas permeating throughout the air, the delectable miasma of their food is rivalled by the taste. It's as if you're brought into a home where the host only prepares the best for their guests. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone I come across.
The food here is the best! Unfortunately the guy who helped me was new and screwed up my $50 take out order. Forgot my meat pies & spinach pie. I caught the meat pies but didn't realize the spinach pie wasn't there until I got all the way back home in Saint Michael. Not like I was able to run down the road to get it.... was really disappointed.
Cabbage rolls are fabulous! Really all the food is fabulous. Check your orders on take out.
I enjoyed the food, it was aromatic and something different to try. I'm big on boldly spiced food so this mellow, fragrant, change was delicious and welcoming. If you decide to eat in and you are more sensitive to your environment, may I suggest eating upstairs? It's always an option and it's an open, historically charming, "traditional" dining room
Easily one of our favorite wholesome restaurants. Favorite dishes are the Red Beans with Rice, Chicken Skewer, Chicken and Rice (a little lamb in it), Feta chunk to crumble in, Extra Garlic Sauce, comes with Tabbouleh Salad and Pita. Easily feeds 4 adults for under $40. The most consistently good restaurant I have ever experienced. You can count on the simple flavors and they're different from the other local middle eastern restaurants. Family atmosphere, 3rd generation run - they must live in the neighborhood because it's even open during blizzards. Can't say enough good things about the comfort this restaurant gives us.
LOVE everything I've had here. Mistah is buttery goodness. Their grape leaves are delicious. The kofta is to die for. Love their rice that comes with the chicken kabobs. I've been going a lot during the stay-at-home, because I hope this place makes it through. Would be a great loss.
Food is fresh, good quality, tasty! I've eaten there for over 40 years. I'm perhaps bias towards them but I've had Lebanese food from many families in my two trips to Lebanon and here in Minneapolis and elsewhere. You won't be disappointed.
Best tabouli and baklava in Minneapolis.
Emilys has been around forever, and the food is the reason why. With their outdoor patio it’s even better in the summer.
Great place for a quick pick up lunch or dinner. Tabouli, a couple of meat pies and baklava - heaven.
Try the Turkish coffee, excellent.
Awesome food, very caring and attentive staff. Great prices, highly recommend
Emily's is my absolute favorite restaurant ever. The hummus has a slight zing to it which makes it addicting, the tabouli is so fresh and delicious and I always get at least one spinach pie! Also try the cabbage rolls, you won't be disappointed!
The best tabouli I've ever had. My mouth waters just writing this review. When I'm in the area I'll almost always stop here to get a large container of tabouli (and bag of pocket bread), it's so dang good. I've never ate at the location, always just take out but they do have some seating. One thing to always remember because you don't want to get surprised like me, they're not open on Tuesdays.
Delicious and unique, always a good option for a late lunch. Take away deli available. Bread from Holy Land bakery. Spinach pie is the best I've had. Taboulli is excellent. Turkish coffee made fresh and strong, a delightful accompaniment.
We've been going to Emily's for nearly twenty years, that really says it all right there. Everything on the menu is excellent, and the staff are the same people we've watched from childhood to adulthood. The small main floor space can be overwhelmed quickly when things get busy, so if you have a group, call ahead and they can get you into the upstairs dining area, which is wonderful for family gatherings.
Fantastic service, perfect food and priced very reasonably. One of my favorite NE food stops when I'm in the Twin Cities.
Good, fresh homemade, healthy Lebanese food. Been going here for years... Nothing fancy but you won't be wasting your money whatsoever like most restaurants these days. Always reliable to be as good as last time!
Emily's Lebanese Delicatessen....Wow!
Had really no idea if the Mrs and I would like "Lebanese" food (especially Terri as she's the picky one) but before we left she was already making comments about 'the next time we come back'....the food was outstanding!
I had the Lamb Shish Kabobs and Terri had the Chicken Kabobs...the Mista Bread appetizer was just awesome. A warm bread/roll item coated in warm butter...I'm going to dream about tonite guaranteed.
When we walked in it was fairly empty but a few minutes later they just got hammered with a ton of people coming in so the service got a little slow but I'll cut them some slack as we could tell they were doing their best.
Great place!
Today, as we got out of the car at Emily's, We noticed the remodel and fresh paint right away but it was the wonderful smell of Lebanese food filling the air that ushered us inside. It smelled just like Grandma's kitchen. Emily's has been an important part of our family for generations and the food is still the best Lebanese food that I have ever had! Everything is fresh and as tasty as it looks. We had a sampling of yummy, satisfying food and ended our meal with Baklawa and Turkish Coffee.
Of course we couldn't leave without getting Spinach Pies, Meat Pies and Tabouli for later.
Thank you to all the friendly, hard working, employees for making Emily's a true Lebanese family experience!
A nice neighborhood restaurant with great Lebanese food. All food is very good, the tabuleh is fantastic. Prices are reasonable, serving sizes are good. I recommend...
I love Emily's Lebanese deli! I have been eating there my whole life. The dish that I get is always great. It's nice to see the generations keep the deli going. Great work guys!
I've been going to Emily's since the 80s and the food hasn't changed a bit(that is a very good thing.) every item is hand prepared/made. Their garlic dressing is my favorite dressing in the world. Chicken and Kofta kabobs are excellent. Best tabouli in the city hands down. If you like stuffed grape leaves, this is a prime place to get them. Overall, Emily's is my favorite place to get authentic Lebanese food. It was established almost 40 years ago. That alone conveys enough about the quality of their food.
The food is great! But twice we have ordered take out and got less than expected. This doesn't happen when we dine it
This food is so amazing! I always get the same thing the chicken kabob and rice with extra sauce. This is one of my favorite places to eat.
I have eaten here since I was a child! I enjoy just about everything on the menu. My family's favorites are green beans (a lamb stew), mistah (buttered bread) and tabouli. The atmosphere had always worked for me, but a recent renovation makes it feel fresh without losing its identity. I recommend this to anyone I meet who even thinks of visiting NE and I've met people from all over who mention Emily's if I tell them I'm from NE.
This place is great for take out. Make sure you call ahead otherwise you might wait awhile during busy times. Everything is delicious. Even the rice is outstanding. The meat pie and grape leaves are a must.
This restaurant is AMAZING!! We ordered through Grubhub and loved everything we ordered, it arrived hot, it was delicious and authentic, and I think those unfamiliar with Lebanese food will find this restaurant to be delicious, and those who are familiar will find the food to be right on point! Thank you, Emily's!!
Always so good. I got raw kibble, cabbage rolls and stuffed grape leaves.
Nice little spot with good raw kibbi. Is busy during the afternoon. I suggest go when they open to get a seat or later in the evening. Cabbage rolls, grape leaves, as stuffed zucchini was amazing!
Emily's is family owned and always has been. The food is very good and contains authentic Lebanese dishes. The staff are very friendly and make sure that you have everything you need. I will recommend this place to everyone.
Honestly, The best Lebanese restaurant in Minneapolis! Their tabouli is my favorite food on Earth! My number one go-to spot for a great meal every time! The family staff is a huge bonus!
The best food I have eaten in Minneapolis. The prices were good and the selection was incredible. Will make this a usual stop. Definitely try the stuffed grape leaves with lubin.
The Lebanese chicken and rice is fantastic. Stuffed grape leaves could use a touch more seasoning. The chicken kabob was perfectly done and the yogurt sauce with it was excellent. A superb lunch spot.
This is great little restaurant. The food so tasty and the service always comes with a smile. My friend and I go there probably once a month and we are always pleased.
My family loves to come here and get a loaf of bread, a tub of hummus, and an order of tabouli. It is so fresh! It's amazing! Family owned, Quality!
So good! This was my first time trying Lebanese dishes and it was absolutely amazing. If my stomach were bottomless it would be full of the dressing and bread.
Delicious, homemade Lebanese food in a quaint little building in NE Minneapolis. My favorite item is the chicken & rice with lubin on the side. Been there multiple times with friends, always a good meal at a great price.
Amazing. This place has been around since I can remember and it's still the most fantastic food ever! Prices are great and the portions even better. It's a hole-in-the-wall family owned restaurant.Try it all but especially the tabouli and grape leaves.
Can't express how much our family loves Emily's! We love to dine in and ordering items to go and eat at home. Super convenient, affordable. and delicious!
Great deli with unique options and friendly service. Homemade desserts that are delicious. There is a parking lot behind with a few spaces. Overall very impressed!
Spinach pie and stuffed grape leaves(warmed) were delicious. Always friendly service. Nice lot out back.
Long time favorite. NE Mpls institution. Best tabouli in town. Small friendly place, eight tables, maybe. Competent and efficient. We recommend the daily special, an unchanging sampler that's very good and a good deal. They do a lot of take-out business as well.
I came here a few weeks ago when my parents were in town, as they always gush about a Lebanese restaurant near my sister's house in Dallas. I got some kafta kabobs and cabbage rolls, and both were good, but the lebanese chicken and rice my dad got was incredible. I could tell from conversation that some others around us were regulars, and they all got the chicken and rice, so I'm pretty sure it is known.
It's a good place to have some Lebanese food. My 4 stars come from being a Lebanese myself and a bit of a picky one as well. Their food comes as close as possible to being the authentic French Lebanese restaurant. The ambiance took away an other half star as well
Oh my, the spinach pie! It’s so tangy and oniony, and the bread isn’t too thick. I went on a cross country trip, and my spinach pie got waterlogged, I literally cried (I thought it’d be a year before I’d be back home, and the thought of my last spinach pie being ruined hit me hard). They freeze well, always keep extra for yourself, in a waterproof container:)
I've eaten in many restaurants: cheap, expensive, esoteric or whatever. This is my top 3 of all time for sure! Kafta burger and tabouli, but everything is top notch.
The Best Lebanese food in the Metro. Our first meal at Emily's was in 1980. This is always our first choice for eating out!
A mainstay when our family is in the mood for takeout. Especially don't miss the baba ghannuj (dip made from roasted eggplant) and the lubin (yogurt), both of which are fresher than you'll get from the supermarket; but we like everything on their menu.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the cities. The garlic dressing is so good my kids beg to eat here. The kabobs with rice are my favorite.
Very good Middle Eastern/Lebanese food!! Family restaurant and reasonably priced. Indoor/outdoor dining. Not accessible for wheelchairs as bathrooms are upstairs.
Been going to Emily’s for 20+ years and without a doubt my favorite restaurant. Family owned. Excellent service. Great take out or dine in options. Highly recommended!
Awesome food!! I’ve only eaten inside once and it’s pretty small but they are friendly. My daughter loves the chicken and rice and I love everything.
Emily's Lebanese...food wonderfully prepared and as good as ever. I will only eat my favorite raw kibbe at Emily's because theirs is always so fresh. The hummus, dolmas, and tabouli is excellent. I really like the outdoor dining. Don't miss the baklava.
Been coming here for over 40 years and the food never gets old to me. The best tabouli, unique and delicious spinach pies, and grape leaves to die for.
Love the food here so much, and the staff is so friendly. Every couple months we go and pick up enough food for a couple of days. Thank you Emily’s for your tasty talents. 😊 …
Amazing Lebanese-American food. One of the only places in NE I can get veggies when I'm craving it (seriously, amazing small and large orders of perfectly grilled and seasoned kebobs for $2.50 or $4.50) and not be charged $6-10 for a mediocre salad; lack of tasty, fresh veggies except at the fancy, trendy places is one of my few complaints about living in NE.
Noticed some people, especially from outside the neighborhood, get upset because they're slow/they close early/the decor is atrocious. All of this is true, but it's because it's a family place, not a corporate or local chain. If those facts bother you, you won't like Emily's, but I personally love being able to have a slow-paced hour long meal and finish it off with their to die-for crema or baklawa and pot of Turkish coffee (just be warned, you'll be up late).
Entrees are delicious, and huge. I recommend either splitting it with a friend, or ordering from the appetizers and mix and match section, so you can sample everything they have (the grape leaves and spinach pie are a must). You can put together your own small plates with 4-6 items, share with a friend, be stuffed, and it's all incredibly cheap to boot.
Emily's is a favorite for all generations in our family!! Kids love the chicken skewars, I love the cabbage rolls, and everyone loves the hummus and tabuleh!
We have been going here for years, and we are never unhappy! Very good home cooked food, and friendly staff. You do not find good home cooked food much anymore. Family owned too. 😊 …
Really good food. Very flavorful. Cute little place. Reasonable prices.
We got a Groupon for here bit we will definitely be making this a regular spot.
Great food, very tasty! Unfortunately it's tiny and the dining area feels super cramped, especially if there's a line of people next to you waiting for a takeaway.
The chicken was a little bland and the pita was dry. Good hummus, olives, and feta though. The spinach pie was good.
This is the best restaurant ever. The garlic sauce is my all time favorite. Everything is beyond amazing. The staff is so sweet and kind. Highly recommend to everyone.
Some good food, not great. Hummus was excellent, as were stuffed grape leaves. Lamb shish kebob and rice excellent. I wish they made their kafta from lamb.
Wonderful place for Lebanese Food!!
Really stepped out of the box trying this. We had it at a group meeting, so there was a variety of foods from this restaurant. They were all really good. I did not know what to expect, but I wasn't disappointed.
Emily's Lebanese Deli is a mainstay of NE Minneapolis, with the finest tabouli in Minnesota, if not the country. I recognize that's a big boast, but there it is — guess you've got to go now to see for yourself. I've been going there since 1993 and I have yet to find better tabouli in the United States. And it's not just the tabouli. The whole place is completely unassuming, nothing fancy about it. But the food is AH-mazing. Kibbeh, grape leaves, fresh blocks of feta, light as a feather pita — you name it, if you are in the mood for Mediterranean magic? Emily's is likely to have something to whet your appetite. You can dine in or take out. It's low-key, with massive amounts of chill, and easy on the wallet. This is as old-school NE Minneapolis as you can get. Don't miss it.
I have been going to Emilys since I was young, and this is the only place I found that can compete with my Granny's Lebanese cooking! This restaraunt is filled with wonderful memories and fabulous food. When available, I order the lamb soup, salad w/feta, and the combination plate with grape leaves, cabbage rolls, and kibbe (I order the kibbe raw). It has a warm family feel which keeps regulars coming back!
Absolute must if you are in Minneapolis! Nothing can compare, I couldn't live without their tabouli salad
Authentic Lebanese food. Dine in or take out. I love this place and eat there frequently. My favorites are the kibbee, chicken and rice, lamp kabobs, spinach pies, meat pies and of course taboul. I highly recommend this place.
If you want comfort in the way of Mediterranean food, this is the place to go. Reasonably priced menu and great tasting food - the service is a little on the slower side but it’s worthwhile if you’re patient.
Fresh & delicious! Great service. Thank you
My favorite restaurant in the world. I eat here at least once every two weeks. Great vegetarian selection plus deli take out. Every family gathering ALWAYS includes emilys spinach pie, flat bread, raw kibbi and babaganu
Excellent Lebanese deli. This is someplace I have to go when Im in the twin cities. It has no ambiance. Its not quiet. Its not quick, but it has excellent flat bread, tabouli salad (best I've ever had) spinich pie. Great olives and the baklava is to die for. Tne humus and feta are excellent. I was staying in Oakdale snd wr dtove to Northeast Mpls just for Emilies.
A long-standing favorite for fresh food. Tabouli, spinach pie, baba ganoush are absolutely divine. Friendly staff.
Another triple D stop. I love trying new kinds of food, and even though I have nothing to judge by, they're certainly doing it right here. Most of the food tastes a bit vinegar (I think they put a lot of olives in everything), and they also like to use garlic (which I love). The shish-ka-bobs were great, the baba ganoush (similiar to hummus) had tons of flavor, the spinach pie was generous portion and delicous, the meat pie was good, and the grape leaf meat rollups were great too. Not much ambience, no sign that food network ever stopped in, but humble and simple, low prices, can't complain.
Best restaurant in the twin cities, live by Duluth and any trip to the cities includes Emily's plus take home
I will always love this place. The food is so good, it’s comfort type food. Best tabouli in the twin cities, it’s really flavorful and juicy!
I'm a cheap student. For 8.60 I got a big, juicy grilled chicken breast sandwich on chewy bread, fresh tabbouleh, and flat bread I wrapped in a napkin for a snack in class. Cozy atmosphere and a great value.
Baclava was the best i've ever had!!
Delicious,, fresh, and authentic tasting food.. Can't wait to come again!
I didn't like their rice their hummus was too cold, but they have the best Kofta kebab and good taboula. Even the taboula wasn't freah
Being Lebanese I have high standards when it comes to Lebanese food. Home cooking at it’s best. Plus they cook with cinnamon which is the correct way to do. A must try trust me!
Once again it was awesome been going there for almost 50 years and the service and food you can't miss . Thanks
A Northeast Minneapolis mainstay, Emily's is authentic Lebanese cuisine in a cozy, friendly setting. Whether your having kabobs, falafel, or any other of your favored middle eastern delights, you're sure to love this place!
A classic Nordeast Minneapolis dining experience. Casual. But delicious Lebanese food and a deli to take some home. Priced just right. Great service.
Oh my, the food here is ridiculously tasty. Get the hummus, the baked kibbi, the spinach pie, and the tabbouleh salad. You won't regret it.
always love anything I try here
An amazing culinary experience showing the richness of true Lebanese cuisine. Emily's is one of our Minneapolis favorites. Try the Kafta Kabobs, Humus and do not skip the tabouli!!!
The best in town. The garlic sauce is too die for. Nobody told me what I should use it on so I just use a straw and drink it like a milkshake. I love it that much.
Theres nothing bad on the menu and every single experience I've had there has been a 5 star experience. I bring someone new as much as possible - would recommend to anyone.
LOVE this place! Their Lebanese chicken and rice is amazing, and the lamb shank they serve on the weekend is on a whole nother level!
The chicken and rice with tabouli and yogurt on the side is perfect comforting food. It's 5:30 in the morning, a couple weeks after I've had it and here I am thinking about it!
A friend of mine took me there for lunch one day it was awesome best Lebanese food I've ever had.
Had some of the baklava and that stuff was fantastic.
Simply the best!! Get the cabbage rolls, the green beans, and don’t miss a side of the garlic sauce.
The Kafta burger and tabbouleh is awesome if you're into Mediterranean/mideast food. Always fresh, good price, nice place to grab a burger.
Food of course was fabulous. Mom and i shared 3 appetizers and it was perfect light lunch. Staff was simply lovely.
Pretty good. I haven't tried their hot food options yet but the spinach pie and grape leaves I had were good.
I've ate here for 40 years every time I've been here its fantastic and healthy super good food.the best.
The only place I know to get raw kibi. Their tabouli is great and the combo platter is a good introduction to their family's style of Lebanese food.
This is our most favorite place to eat in the Twin Cities and has been since 1980! Celebrated this year's anniversary having great food.
Its been around a long time. They have great fish for dine in. They also have the best tabouli, grape leaves and salad dressing in town!
I've been eating here since 1975 and have never had a bad meal! Lebanese food doesn't get any better!
Great food, friendly helpful staff. If you haven't eaten here, you should soon.
I think I could live on the Hummus from Emily’s. Delicious and unpretentious it’s a great place to meet friends for lunch or dinner. Don’t forget to get tabouleh and bread and Hummus to bring home. Dolmas?! How could I forget them.
They do not make their own Lebanese bread they have it delivered from the holy Land bakery that is not Lebanese bread that's just pita bread thank you ...
Amazing food and very reasonably priced. Great chicken noodle soup
Service was excellant!!! The food was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!! Must try! Nothing on the menu is bad.
Been going here my whole life. Really cozy nice place. They have the best Lebanese food in Minneapolis
I think we had everything on the menu and it was all delicious
My favorite place in the Twin Cities plus great deli take out so you can serve mouth watering good food at your parties at home. Yummmmm
The food here is delicious. It is not fancy, like for a date or anything, but nice enough. The service can be a little slow.
Great Lebanese food, multi generation and a landmark
I been going to Emily's since I was a little girl. My family is Lebanese and this is the absolute best Lebanese food. Nobody better for their tabouli.
Always delicious food and a neighborhood favorite. The people that work there makes it even better!
This place is fantastic. Gets crowded from time to time, but food is definitely worth it. Nice outdoor seating during that season.
I'd eat at Emily's every day if I had a better work schedule. Every chance I get I either get something to go or dine in. Either way, I go away satisfied.
If you haven't been here then what exactly are you waiting for. If you love great, authentic and very delicious food then this is the place to be. You'll go back trust me!!!

Love this place like their family, oh wait they are family :-). And of course the food is incredible, regardless. So many memories here, hope it lasts forever
Simple, to-the-point good food, service and atmosphere. Tables are a little "jammed-up". You might want to get there early or get take-out.

Nothing else like it in the neighborhood. The tabbouli is the best. I recently tried the fish entree for lunch and it was really good.
I think the food would be an acquired taste that I was not familiar with.
Nice family restaurant. Small space, but good food. I would recommend for those who enjoy Lebanese cuisine.
