Edit; the owner ended up calling and refunded our entire group order not even just the one sandwich- he said they have been extremely short staffed, and have had problems like this with that manager in the past. He was very sorry and wanted to make things right- that is all a person should ask for! Thank you! Wow is all I have to say. I have never taken the time to write a review on a restaurant, but this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. We ordered a group order to the hospital for lunch Friday April 1st. I was almost done eating the entire sandwich when I noticed a fly embedded into my lettuce. I called and was very nice, simply just asked to be refunded. The guy that answered the phone said he would take care of the refund after the lunch rush. Tuesday came and there was still no refund, I then called again and asked why it hadn't been refunded. He said he was not sure and that he would have the manager call me later in the day. No one ever called. I called again today on Thursday and spoke with the manager Damien who accused me of placing the fly in the sandwich to get a free sandwich??? That they don’t know that the fly came from there? It could have flown in my sandwich here? When it is clearly embedded in the lettuce. Then said that he could get me another sandwich, but a refund would be hard because it had been so long now. I then said well I have called two other times, so I don't really know what to tell you. I am not interested in another sandwich after what I have just experienced and am totally shocked at the horrible customer service and attitude that manager just had toward me. Absolutely foul. Being a department in the hospital that orders group orders often we will sadly never place an order again.

Ordered 2 sandwiches and told my partner that these better be the best sandwiches in the world because the total came out to $30 with zero add-ons. The cherry pepper relish was incredible, the PC was quite possibly the best sandwich I've had in my life. 20/10 would spend $30 again.

I'm feeling kinda sad about Caffrey's right now. Used to be VERY dependable and a genuine 'deli' experience, but lately they've been getting my orders wrong and the food hasn't been prepared as well either. Today's 'Rachel' was overflowing with dressing, had something hard in one bite and I couldn't detect the cheese if it was on there. I'll keep trying, but probably need a little break.

Real bummer of a lunch. Owner or manager possibly, Told my husband he canceled our Uber order originally then tried to uncancel when his driver couldn’t take the order. Either way my husband finally just ended up driving over for what was suppose to be a delivery. We ordered the loaded Philly 14” and some wild rice soup. The Philly was mostly mushroom and bread. Had the makings for what could have been a great sandwich but there was next to no meat or cheese on the sub. The soup was ok.

I have been going to Caffreys for years! This sandwich shop has all the classics for those looking for a good Philly, Reuben, Italian or Sub, but still offers great house creations! Open late 7 days a week with delivery or pick up. This Lyn-lake spot is ready to fill your stomach after a late night of hitting the bars. Don't forget to grab a cup of soup or pint of Sebastian Joe's ice cream to complete your meal!

The fact that cafferys thinks putting horseradish on a sandwich knocks two stars off of my review. That condiment takes this place from the classy establishment it could be to the dive that it is. I will remove this review when you remove horseradish from the menu completely.

I can never go wrong with Caffrey's. I've been ordering Caffrey's since it opened and then reopened. I remember when Pete used to work at Golooney's even! Caffrey's sure gave that spot a run for it's money, hey! The selection can not be beat. There are cold and hot new and old favorites. There's something for everyone, vegetarians, vegans, gluten free diners, and of course, the carnivore. My personal favorite sandwich is the loaded chicken Philly. I also enjoy the blue cow and a BLT. I mean there's too many great choices to have one favorite. I really also enjoy the bread. Bread can really make or break a sub. Caffrey's bread is a sure winner! This places true genius is in it's amazing deli that pairs with the sandwiches. Classics like fresh salad, old fashioned potato salad, a daily list of hot soups, numerous fruit topped cheese cakes, cookies and brownies, etc. Even the drinks selection is amazing. Oh and there's ice cream too. Caffrey's stocks locally made pints. One of my favorite little touches from Caffrey's is how the hot soup always comes with those awesome little puffy cracker things. Most places would just give their customers some cheap old saltines. Not Caffrey's. Oyster crackers for you!! Every once in a while I like to purchase a big bag from Caffrey's with a little of everything in it and treat myself.

Fast service. Smaller place so take it to go or just a quick place to grab a bite. Sandwich was good. I took it to go and it was still hot when I ate it, they wrap the hot sandwiches in tin foil so they stay warm. Reasonably priced...7 inch sandwich for about $8-9.

This is a great spot for a summer cool down. They have a/c, delicious cold sandwiches, non-carbonated beverages, and ice cream. I don’t particularly like the seating and there’s a bad flow for traffic, so it can get cluttered very easily. Just hope that you’re here when it’s not so busy! This is a place to enjoy regardless.

An unassuming deli on Lyndale street, rightfully so. Delicious subs, got myself a warm loaded philly, a cold ham/tom/let/bac/must, and a couple of sides (coleslaw and potato salad). Loved the potato salad, and both subs were very good. However the philly lacks some much needed depth, and I, subjectively, was not a big fan of the bread. Would have preferred bread with a better bite. The coleslaw was not great, didnt really have a strong flavor to it, but did alright when I added it to the sandwiches. Bit expensive for a sub place, but I think thats just everywhere nowadays so I can hold it against them.

Been getting Caffrey's since like 2005...? Always loved the Blue Cow and PC, and their grilled cheese was always great too. Awesome desserts, late night delivery, chill atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. I moved to North some years ago so hadn't been recently. I went a few weeks ago, and it was still good, but definitely not as good. Also the prices are nuts which I'm sure has to do with inflation. Today though, went to pick up a sandwich and the dude working was wearing a Blue Lives Matter T-Shirt. In light of the current situation with cops (them murdering people over and over) it is DEFINITELY not a good representation of a business in the most progressive area of the city, to be repping the cops. I'm actually pretty disgusted and won't be spending my money there anymore. Shame on you, dude.

We split a hot pastrami sandwich and chicken wild rice soup. Both were amazing! The hot pastrami is warm and on rye. They are so good! I also tried the Cole slaw which was peppery and delicious!

Love Caffrey's Subs! The bread is absolutely delicious, and they have a wide selection of sandwich choices. The Lake Street Italian is my go-to for delivery, and the cheese steaks are also great.

TL;DR. Good subs with lots of choice. Locally owned. Friendly staff. Had to wait for my order and kitchen could have been a bit cleaner. I recommend checking it out. Caffrey's is a locally owned sub place that has a good choice of subs both unique and basic. They also provide various sides like several soup options and chips. We ordered online and they deliver, but you can also walk in to their convenient location in uptown near Up-Down. They also sell the locally made Sebastian Joe's ice cream inside. Everyone was happy with the taste and quality of their food. Downsides were the kitchen was a bit messy, though they seemed busy so it could have been immediately following a rush, as we did have to wait a bit longer than we were told. Also, driving and parking in uptown is pretty bad. Overall, I recommend checking it out if you want to try something new or you like subs.

I really like this place a lot. The food is amazing and the staff are usually great. I think they still deserve 5 stars as all of my experiences have been great besides last night. The food was still great, however when I called in my order the person on the other end must have been having a rough night. I was cut off mid sentence twice and felt as if my order was not wanted at all. My question was simple and my order was fast.I explained that I had a coupon and was about to go on to ask if it was applicable to delivery before I could I was cut off and he said that was a statement not a question and then sighed loudly like I had ruined his night. My phone call wasn’t more than a minute and 30 seconds. I understand what’s it’s like to be busy and it wasn’t the end of the world but I don’t like to pay for something to be treated as an inconvenience.

I had been looking for a place with great deli subs for years and finally found Caffrey's. Delivery when you order off their website is quick and the food is fresh and hot! Love the Meatball and Hot Pastrami. Tried a wrap last time and that was great too with tons of fresh ingredients. Now that I know about them, it's going to be hard not ordering from here all the time!

I love this place. One of the few spots where you can order a quality deli sandwich for a quick lunch delivery, and not have to use Doordash. The employees are great, as well. Once I typo-ed my address and the driver was very nice and still retrieved it and redelivered, even though it was my dumb fault. Thanks, guys!

They have WONDERFUL attention to detail. We placed an order for all of our employees, 27 in total! All items had a name associated with them which made sorting out the lunches easy. UPDATE: The owner of the store personally reached out to me with a sincere apology. He also went so far as to send me a coupon for a free sub to make up for their past mistakes. I order from Caffrey's about once a week while I am at work. I have had issues lately when I order online, (i.e. today I ordered a grilled cheese without tomatoes, it had tomatoes on it. I wrote in two places to please leave the tomatoes off. I also asked for the delivery to be sent after 12:30, it initially came at 11:45 and again at noon after I sent them away the first time because I was still working) I work in health care and it is not easy for me to get away to take an early lunch. When I called to let them know the person stated "Thanks" and immediately hung up. It was very rude. I am sad to say I will begin ordering elsewhere. I like their food, I always tip well, but the customer service has been very poor.

Moved here from NJ and this is the only sandwich spot that actually makes my mouth water. Such great food and open until/after bar close for those who live in the area. My friend and I even have a Caffrey’s chant as we make our way over.

I waited til I had ordered from them several times before writing a review. My experience with them has been excellent. I personally can only attest to the deliciousness of the Simple Philly, seeing as that's all I get. But I'm sure the other sandwiches they offer are just as tasty. I for now, am addicted to their Philly. Staff is friendly all the time seems like, as well as pretty good on delivery times considering I frequently order during rush hours. They've got my business, as long as the Philly doesn't change :)

The sandwiches are spectacular. All food is made fresh except for their pasta salads and a couple of their sides. Delivery is available within the Uptown area and some of the wedge. They have quick delivery generally within 30 minutes. There is a full selection of chips and beverages, but no beer. This is a great local spot to have a sandwich from a local owner. Pricing is a little high for what you get, bread is probably the biggest deficit of their sandwiches. Will definitely eat there again.

Pretty good. Got a bit pricey since the last time I ate here in 2013. Had the go-to. Blue cow sandwich and loved it. Perfect ratio of roast beef to veg and cheese Has multiple profile of flavors and is the best sandwich imo. I have had all their sandwiches They do have Sebastian Joe's too, but I think Sebastian Joe's is not as good as it used to be.

Will I be back? Sure if I want a sandwich. But there are so many other places that are better value that I can’t see it happening often.

Great legitimate hot or cold deli subs. Great soups too. A mean cut above the freaky fast and the other chains. Open late too. My wife loves their salads as she stays away from bread. They put the sandwich meat on a bed of lettuce. Looks good. Never tried because I'm addicted to the lake street Italian + jalapenos. Throw in a cheesecake and I'm taking a nap.

We had a massive 8 person order with each sandwich having some sort of change to the sandwich and unfortunately each one was wrong (some were very minor). They called us prior to the order to confirm everything and talked the person on the phone through the order. When we got home and opened the sandwiches they were all wrong. We called them back just to let them know and the Manager said "Where are you at, we are going to come deliver the new sandwiches". We were in New Hope and the Manager drove about 25 minutes out of his way to deliver not only our original order but also a whole bag of cookies to make up for the mistake. We told them it wasn't necessary but they still went out of their way again. While it sucked that the original order was wrong, they did NOT have to go out of their way to deliver a whole new set of sandwiches yet they did. Great customer services and better yet, the sandwiches taste great!

They had no pastrami or corned beef. This was the reason for my visit. Had the Philly cheese steak. Was dry but still taste good. Service at the front counter was 100%. Would I go back.... Only to see how the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are.

They have a decent vegetarian sandwich with Muenster and Provolone cheese, cucumber, tomato, roasted red pepper, red onion and lettuce. I usually subtract the mask and suggest you add hummus for extra flavor and protein. Available on white or wheat bread. Delivery or pickup options.

This place is DELICIOUS and bonus is it's open until 3am. I'm a bartender so this comes in handy. Also nice for after bar close food that isn't McDonald's etc. The only thing that sucks is they run out of soups often. They have a large variety so this isn't a huge deal. But haven't had the kind I want the last 3 times. I found something else but still. Anyways...GIVE IT A TRY. Super good.

Good food (and by food, I mean deli sandwiches and soup). Service is usually decent but can be slow. Open late so you can scrunch drunk munchies after bar close. They also have a huge delivery area. Pretty good dudes slanging tasty sandwiches. I wish it were a little less expensive, but it's also not terribly expensive.

I love there sandwiches and they are always super hot and tasty but they don't put enough ounces of meat on there sandwiches. EDIT: ok so I looked through there online menu and called the store and asked them some questions to understand the menu better. There is lite, traditional and large portion sizes for there sandwiches and meat and they have small and large sandwiches. So if you don't specify or don't understand how there menu works you may feel like you got to little on your sandwhich like i did. Glad I called and asked questions so I don't get frustrated in the future.

This place is fan-freaking-tastic!!! Great sandwiches for a helluva great price. I found this gem of a place while perusing uptown. I found out that not only did this place was open until 3am, but they have a hugely good menu of bomb sandwiches!! They also sell Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream which is always a win!! I definitely recommend this spot if you need a craving late at night!

This was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. I will preface that I am a vegetarian so I can't tell you how their meat subs are but I bet they are good. Not their vegetarian sub with added fake chicken is so good. If you don't eat meat and you've been missing that classic sub sandwich in your life. Definitely try caffreys.

And one of my favorite places for soup.. although today I ordered and my wrap was made without chicken.. in the past I've had them forget things too... but only when I get delivery.. This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. They potato salad is phenomenal! They make it without onions which is always a deal breaker for me so to find this delicious gem was a true find. They make their own ice cream this too is some of the best. I recommend the oreo :-)

Hands down my favorite place to get a sandwich. My favorites are their loaded chicken philly and middle class club. They have by far the best potato salad I've ever had in my life. Prices are reasonable and staff is nice too. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Love caffrey’s. Have been ordering for a decade now. Usual and most of the time my only order is a #1 on wheat, add hummus, no onion with 3 rocky road cookies. Delivery has been super fast since I moved to Lyndale franklin area (prob en route to other deliveries) and typically only takes like 15 minutes (they always quote 35-45). I usually only order in the evening or late night after work but decided to have lunch delivered today. Delivery was fast, but the sandwich didn’t have any roasted red peppers, too many tomatoes and was quite dry (no Italian dressing). Tasted good enough but wasn’t the same combo that I literally crave. And the most disappointing were the cookies. 99.9% of the time the cookies are amazing! Soft, moist and tasty. The ones I was delivered today were super hard and dry, seems old 😞 I mean my bikini body is super happy I’m not going to down 3 tasty cookies today but my tastebuds are super sad. I usually save one or two for breakfast the next day to have with coffee. Suppose I should go back to only ordering after 8pm as the evening staff I think knows my order and me.

I've eaten here about once every other month since 2010 and have never tried something other than the Bleu Cow! I just love it way too much, and it's nothing like anything else I can get. My husband says their meatball is also incredible. I honestly begin to CRAVE it! Any time I drop my pup over at Royal Pet Grooming across the street, I stop in for a relaxing dine-in visit, post up, and people watch from the high bar table at the window (those two businesses should totally link up and offer up small discounts or something?) Tip: definitely, absolutely throw in a cup of their chicken wild rice (no matter what time of year/weather!). It's creamy and has this tangy vinegar punch to it that is simply to die for. In the summer, share (or don't share) a pint of the Sebastian Joe's ice cream they sell in a cooler near the register.

I was told by several friends about this place but was never able to make it down there because uptown parking is literal hell. Once I got there I tried the blue cow and my girlfriend got the hot shot Italian and a brownie. All three were very tasty! I also loved the atmosphere in there and the music they play.

Love this place! Ordered late nights on the overnight shift for years and the ranch gobbler is the best sub I've ever had, hands down. Their traditional turkey is a close second. In all fairness, they could up their game with sanitation as some reviews have indicated, but I've found the staff fun and pleasant to interact with overall. I look forward to many more great experiences from Caffrey's.

This is the most reliable sandwich shop around. I've had many delicious items off their menu but my favorite is the Loaded Philly (I have yet to come across a better tasting Philly in Mpls). They deliver and are open until 3 a.m.!

My favorite sub shop in the country. I stop every time I'm in the twin cities. If I dont get anything else, I get the Blue Cow sub. Grilled roast beef, bleu cheese, bacon. Why does no other sandwich shop have a hot sub like this?! It's not a complicated combination but I've never seen it anywhere else. I've tried several other hot and cold subs and they are all great. The soups, I dont know if they are homemade, but they are above average. I've had the chicken tortilla, Italian meatball, and potato. My favorite is the meatball but the chicken tortilla was amazing as well. The potato was a standard potato soup, but good. They are open late which is a huge plus. You can eat in, dining area is no frills but pleasant.

Fantastic sandwiches and subs!! Hot or cold options, amazing bread, quality toppings choices, and great soups & sides! And they cater to omnivores and herbivores (both vegetarian and vegan). And their cheesesteak sandwich is great; no fake canned cheese here!

Even though they were busy, and we were on hold for over 5 minutes (not normally the case FYI, that's only happened once. But sometimes they get so busy that all the phones get tied up), they still got us our food sooner than they predicted! It is always delicious and, unlike Jimmy Johns, they're open late, use fresh romaine lettuce, and, have soft bread. This is the sub shop to order from in uptown! When a restaurant is open late, and delivers subs- that's love.

Caffrey's is legitimately my favorite restaurant. I always go for a loaded Philly or a loaded chiken Philly, I've never had or anecdotally heard of a bad sandwich from this place. They have a good selection of chips & drinks to go with your sandwiches, a small assortment of solid desserts, they're open late, it's relatively inexpensive, and I don't mind that I live outside of the admittedly short delivery range because I like going in to see the staff. I cannot reccomend this place enough. Caffrey's is dope.

Used to go here back when it first opened in the mid-2000's. Prior to that, it was an internet gaming cafe/coffee shop/tea shop/etc. called The Loading Zone, which was also pretty cool. I have been a loyal customer to cafreeys for years! I was so sad when they closed, and missed my beloved adult club.. One drunken night I decided to try to call cafreeys one last time in hopes of satisfying my long lost craving.... and to my surprise they answered! Unfortunately I received a sandwich full of lettuce. I have tried a few more times since then, and have still received... ALOT of lettuce. I am not one to complain, but it is somewhat expensive(considering I order often ) and it makes me so sad!! The manager did make it better and offered us 2 free subs. I jokingly made a comment to the guy taking our order about my previous plight and the manager, Pete, overheard me. Pete remembered what happened, profusely apologized, thanked me for coming back in, and generously paid for our sandwiches. Pete knows the value of good customer service and made an effort to make things right with me. That goes a long way in my book.
