When I travel to Milwaukee I love to stop by a childhood favorite place. Usingers still looks the same. Operation have changed a little bit. Suggestions shop all of the cases in lobby first with a basket. Then take a number to ask for additional items and to pay. Customer service personnel are friendly and very knowledgeable. Items even 2nds are fresh and delicious. Don't pass up an opportunity to stop here while in Milwaukee. I have traveled several times by plane TSA request item in original packaging and frozen if in carry on.

We can't begin to describe how amazing this place is. There's enough staff to accommodate a large crowd, it's very clean, and there's a very large array of meat choices. We had a hard time choosing because we were afraid it would be super expensive. That's the best part! It is so cheap! We wish we had brought a cooler to fill up our car to take back more. Next time we're in town, we will definitely stock up. The staff were very knowledgeable too and helped us out immensely with what to pick based on our preferences.

This is the ultimate meat shop. The best part is they have a whole section of “seconds” which are deeply discounted because they are slightly imperfect, usually they have been cut to the wrong thickness. My dad loves anything that comes out of this shop, and even as a vegetarian I am willing to stop in to make the purchase.

I was recently on the east side of Milwaukee and decided to visit my favorite places. Usinger’s is a family favorite. I have great memories of my Grandmother and our gift boxes we received each Christmas. The bacon I purchased was delicious when I made my red cabbage recipes from Karl Ratzsch’s. Memories of time gone bye.

We are from South Carolina and are visiting our daughter who attends Milwaukee School of Engineering. We saw the huge sign on the building for Usingers and decided to stop in...and I am SO glad we did! Jean helped us with our order and spent quite a bit of time educating us on the different types of meats that they sell. She was so incredibly patient, kind and knowledgeable. We bought some items that didn't need refrigeration. Then we left to buy a cooler and head back to Usingers. We filled that cooler up right there at the counter with so much deliciousness from Usingers!! Thank you Jean and everybody at Usingers! We will be back soon, and with a bigger cooler!

Usinger's is a meat processing plant who specialize on smoking different meats and selling to the public. They have a storefront with your favorite breakfast sausage, bacon, smoked ham, smoked turkey your favorite hot dogs or if you want to call them frankfurters. The prices are incredible much better than your local supermarket. Usinger's come visit this place in downtown Milwaukee.

My brother sent me a surprise gift (so I didn't open it right away) however when the package arrived I was in a hurry and just put it in the garage and promptly forgot about. Fast forward four days i open and realize it is perishable. I called Usinger's and was quickly connected to customer service. i was checking to see if there was anyway that it was still consumable. They advised against rather than take any chances, and promptly said the would reship the order, much to my surprise and pleasure. The 'Entertainer' gift boxes that I sent my spouse and a business client both arrived today. My husband (Suzan's writing this) just opened his and I've already heard from the business client. First of all, we thought the box was bottomless because my spouse just kept reaching in and taking more things out. We were blown away by the sheer quantity of products in the box. Then we tried several items and were shocked at how delicious they were and how very high the quality is. I've lived in Europe and this sausage is easily as good as what I ate there. My business client was completely unprepared for their gift; because it's such a different type of business gift. Currently Usinger's is only open for walk-ins on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I arrived at around 1215, walked in there were about six customers in front of me. Waited about ten minutes, great service, knew what I wanted, but staff knows their product and are willing to talk with you about it. Was out by 1230.

WE have been ordering Brats from usingers since 2002. We have a Christmas tradition of having Brats and black bread on Christmas morning, When our local Germann market went out of business in 2001 we were lost for a replacement Brat until we found Usingers. Went for the first time this afternoon, and I was somewhat underwhelmed. The selection wasn't as large as I had hoped - I couldn't even get the buffalo and elk sausage I originally went to purchase. The wait time was astronomical despite nearly half of the people waiting having left before their number was called. The clerk named Lorraine was QUITE rude and unwelcoming to those she was serving. Luckily I was helped by a different staff memeber. I would still recommend the facility but know what you're getting into when you stop there.

It's hard to get closer than this to great old fashioned values, products, quality, and service. The counter is often busy, which gives time to admire the murals. Of course, it also means working up a hunger and thinking of more products to purchase, which is never a bad thing. Even when ordering online, shipped gifts still come with handwritten greetings. There's hardly a better gift to someone far from Milwaukee than shipped Usinger's sausages. All Usinger's offerings are gold standards by which all competing products should be compared. From everybody's favourite Summer Sausages, to the must have Bratwurst, to the delectable Braunschweiger, to the top quality bacon, to the common ham, to the uncommon Blutwurst. Those from Milwaukee make regular pilgrimages to Usinger's, those afar mail order by catalog, or online. Usinger's products are also found in many finer Wisconsin supermarkets.

I buy the great Usinger bacon from our local grocer. Every Christmas I send a box of their best to our son in the citys. Always the best. We then order a selection of their deli meat and brats for us. Can't say enough good. We live in a Wisconsin city (Madison) that has lots of delis and meat markets so we know a good product.. Summer sausage, bratwurst, Knockwurst,.liver sausage or a thin slice sausage somewhat like Genoa. There's nothing to compare, don't bother! Uslngers has a long long history of the finest feeding mke and world wide.

I come here about once every two months or so to pick up a supply of sausages. In addition to the German sausages, there is a wide variety of other ethnic sausages such as Italian sausages Polish sausages Mexican sausages and Hungarian sausages. You can get a super deal on their overstock and imperfects. My target today was the bacon ends and pieces which I cut up and using a variety of recipes. Park in the surface lot on the corner to the South.

Bought their Old World Weiners at my local grocery store. First time trying any of their products. Broiled two and topped them with some pepperjack, and jim beam mustard. One would have been enough. These suckers are huge after you broil them. Not to mention, damn good! I am a fan of The Dogg Hauss on Brady Street, but this hot dog broiled with the simple fixin's that I put on blew anything that I have had from the Hauss out of the water! They advertise no MSG, but I think there's crack or heroin in them. So good, nom nom nom.
