I have been looking for the right cut of beef to make german Rouladen. Not only did the staff know what I was talking about but recommended the correct cut of beef. Rays is always a great choice when tailgating at Milller Park. We get several different flavors of brats, a few beef sticks and a filet or two. Yum on the grill. That real butcher xhop smell!

Rays is in awesome butcher shop. It reminds me of childhood being with my grandpa....and all the different smells. Very good variety of things you'd find at a butcher shop plus more. They have a deli, bakery and a small produce section with the freshest things! I definitely will be back. I bought myself a bacon wrapped filet! Yum it's what's for dinner!!

This place is great. It has all types of high quality meats and rubs you can use on your meats as well as a pastry shop too. If you're getting your meat elsewhere you need to reconsider Ray's butcher shop. It's the best.

If you want something that'll remind you of southern Louisiana smoked sausages for yah okra gumbo, chicken and sausage gumbo, shrimp gumbo, potato gravy, or whatever you need dem der sausages for meh Sha. Oh and the beef sticks, jerky. Oooohweee! Don't forget a big chunk of sirloin. Poooo yeah sha. Look at that Okra gumbo and yeah it's also good in roux strictly gumbo with no tomatoes

I came here only after visiting 4 others stores and them unable to help I was at my wits end. Thankfully the young man who I spoke to first got the butcher to help me with my strange request. Boy did he deliver he cut up the most thin slices of meat I had seen. I believe it was port tendloin and some kind of beef. Recipe came out get thanks to them providing me with the last ingredient.

We have shopped here for many years but lately we have started making it a point to grab all the meat here before holiday parties. Everything from our turkey, ham, shrimp, and filets. Lovely selection of meats. We especially love the beef sticks and beef jerky. We don't get our jerky or beef sticks from any other place, mind you we do live over an hour away from this butcher. Only negative: The service staff behind the counter are consistently not friendly. Basically ask what you want and that's it. No smile, faces are expressionless. They seem almost bothered that we are there. Definitely puts a damper on buying products from this place. Totally don't understand. The cashier is always friendly. The taste of the beef sticks and jerky is what keeps us coming back. However, if we find a more local butcher with great prices and friendly staff, we may not visit anymore. Please, please hire more friendly staff for behind the meat counter!!

This is by far my favorite butcher shop in the Milwaukee area. Great selection of meats and reasonable prices. Their beef jerky is phenomenal. For me, they have the best Polish Sausage, the delicious smell filled up my car all the way home. If I'm in the mood for Jerky, it's the only place I go. They make all kinds of regular & smoked sausages, even some good kishka, yum. And all their meats are Prime. Plus, they have a good little bakery.

Had never stopped in here before, even though I have lived here most of my life. I was pleasantly surprised at this little shop. The smell is wonderful! All the spices of the meats make your mouth water. They have a huge meat counter with everything from fresh steak to smoked salmon. And even some beautiful frozen items too. A little liquor area is inside the store as well as some other items you may need for your dinner. The people behind the meat counter were nice & didn't look at me funny for asking questions. I will be back

My sons and I are always looking for small family run butcher shops. We like to try any snack/beef sticks and home-made jerky, if they offer it. Ray's sticks and jerky were awesome. Just a bit more expensive than most of the places we've visited. We are going back to try some more of Ray's offerings as well. Give Ray's a try, just don't be surprised if the place is packed.

Ordered out family's Christmas roast a few days ahead and picked it up today (12/23). The shop was completely packed and everyone had to take a number. The staff was efficient and was able to serve the 40-45 people before me in about 25 minutes. It's a busy place because of the quality meats and service. It is always worth the wait.

Best meat in town. Been shopping there for many years. I give Ray's gift cards for Christmas. Everyone looks forward to them. If you have about $70 in discretionary income, try their beef brisket. Spice it and slow cook it....awesome.

We wanted to have Thanksgiving Dinner catered. We chose Ray's because we've gone there numerous times for their meats etc. We found they did Thanksgiving Catering (they don't do Christmas) and ordered a dinner for 12. The package included: 24 lb turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, 2 dozen rolls, 2 Pumpkin pies, 1 Cherry pie. Cost: $200.00. My wife says that was about the same as our cost AND then she has to do the cooking! She enjoyed Thanksgiving much more this time and will cater it from now on.

No grass fed selection of meats is a huge bummer considering it's a butcher shop... Asked a worker what the feed is for the cattle and was told corn fed. So could be GMO? Meats looked very fresh and everything was clean. Picked up a couple burgers and a flank steak along with some jerky. So we'll see... Workers were nice but I was surprised they didn't ask questions... They grabbed whatever of your selection, threw it in a bag and gave it to you. Noticed the flank steak was over by 1/3lb but oh well... I'll form a verdict when I cook up the meats and see if I'll be back. Prices were fairly reasonable...

Amazing selections of meat, cheese and everything on between. For wisconsin grilling season, they always have at least 8 different flavors of brats to choose from - if not more. Their smoked natural casing hot dogs are super good and their bacon is beyond high quality.

I have been coming to this place for many years for one primary reason: they have the best beef jerky around and the best beef sticks I have ever had. And I have been around (by vocation, I was a truck driver and have had beef sticks and beef jerky all over the place). Other meats there are very good too and they have a selection of othereats, pastas, dairy items (really, a nice little store). Try the jalapeno pepper jack beef sticks and original beef jerky and you will not be disappointed. I live in Missouri now and generally cannot wait to get up to Ray's whenever I come back into town to visit.

Reminds me of the one where I grew up in Chicago. This one has a bonus it's like they took the bakery next door and put it in this butcher, awesome.

The comments on the "friendliness" of the staff are quite amusing here. Here's a thought: If you want good conversation visit the coffee shop. If you want some of the best quality meats etc. Ray's can't be beat and is simply excellent. I completely understand that a warm smile and a simple hello goes a long way, but put it in perspective. When visiting Rays its almost always very busy and the staff behind the counter are always knowledgeable and quick. Can never go wrong with Ray's. Only comment I have is that dog bones are cheaper at surrounding local butchers. Also, now that I remember, I bought the ghost pepper beef sticks. My stomach usually takes spice/heat just fine. I ate one stick and I was in pain later that night, close to going to urgent care. The heat while eating it didn't bother me at all, so I don't know if it was the spice or the meat. Ate another stick 2 days later and same thing happened. I ended up throwing the rest away. I've eaten a lot of hot spicy sh!t in my time, including El Diablo from Milwaukee Public Market, and nothing left me feeling like a single ghost meat stick did.

Classic cuts of meat. Superior service. No one is better than Ray's. The prices are slightly higher than the grocery, but you don't get the service or the quality. Today, I picked up a Delmonico, a pile of pierogies, and a bottle of Tempranillo for a little over $30. That is a fair bill and you support a family business and not just one more faceless corporation.

The butchers will cut a steak to the thickness I like. They have ordered and specially butchered a whole pig for my LaCajachina and they always have the best beef and pork in town. There chickens are not treated and frozen so they are also very good. Hard to find butcher services like this in town nowadays.

If only the standards of the kitchen/take out area were the same as the meat section of the store. Two visits in a row now, one call in, and one in person, I've ordered take out items that I didn't receive. Also, if you're looking for a fish fry, go somewhere else, even if the location is convenient. The fish is greasy and soggy, like it's too much of a bother to drain the grease before putting it in the take out container. You get like maybe half a cup of fries, which are also greasy and soggy. The roll that you get is terrible too. I assume it's rye, but it has like a tablespoon of coarse ground salt on the top. The "three piece" fish fry dinner is probably the equivalent of 1-1/2 to 2 pieces anywhere else. I expect more when I am paying $10.00 for something. I could have spent less and got filet o fish sandwiches from McDonald's and been better quality. I stand by the quality of their meats, but steer clear of the take out.

This place is great real butcher store not like pick 'n save Meijer real butcher store their burgers are phenomenal steaks are great and they're bun selection is good but you have to get there early my favorite burger is the everything burger and the bun everything bun then going here years never had a problem

So..... as a nurse hand hygiene is very important to me. While the butcher that helped us did not wear glove, I saw him wash his hands befor.... and between each meat selection we made. I have been in many " utcher" sections of a grocery store that the employee relied on wearing gloves over proper hand hygiene. If I had the choice.... bare clean hands versus dirty gloves.... gimme the bare hands by someone who cares and knows the difference

Since I mentioned The Spice House, I had to post Ray's too. My wife is nudging me. Ok, you might wait for a moment when shopping, yet remember that their customers are long standing and waiting "patiently" too for their turn in line. This is a great "old fashioned" butcher with a wide-wide selection of meats, and I promise you "won't" walk away wanting. This is not a Picknsave nor Sendiks. Fresh, fresh cut and cut to Order! From steaks to fish to even rabbit. This butcher has it and it's most likely mooing. You might want to call them first though if there is a speciality item or cut you want. Like I said, this is a very busy butcher (that's worth the wait).
