Outside appearance of this business may appear to be unwelcoming, fear not. Once you go inside it just like any other modern meat shop, People there is extremely nice and welcoming, any questions or requests they do the best they can to accommodate you. Don't judge this place by the cover until you look inside. To first time butcher shop customers, the unique smell is PERFECTLY NORMAL for these shops. Don't let that chase you away, those meat won't disappoint you. Anyway.. Absolutely good place to get your meat, price is reasonable. If you need a special cut, give them a call at least 48 hours. I guarantee they'll meet your satisfaction. I go here often and wouldn't go anywhere else for any meat needs.

Larry's Great Western meats is amazing. I have never purchased a bad cut here. It is truly worth the money to shop at a butcher shop of this caliber rather than buying shoe leather at the grocery store. Counter staff is friendly and helpful. I am a true fan.

I first came here back around 1992 when the company that I worked for gave me a Christmas gift certificate for $100 of meat and I could barely fit it all in my freezer in my refrigerator . It has been quite a while since I last came here . I came in with my son and daughter in law about a month ago and was amazed at how great the store looked and modern since the last time I came in . I bought a bison steak and had some sirloin steak meat ground for a recipe that I make occasionally . Unfortunately most grocery stores no longer carry ground sirloin . They have ground angus , ground hamburger , and sometimes ground chuck . Sometimes you need something of better quality even if you have to pay a little more . I would definitely recommend coming here for a nice selection of meat .

Hands down the best butcher shop in Vegas! Anytime I go here, all staff is very welcoming and the the shop is super clean and well put together. You can tell the butcher, Larry puts his effort and skills into place to give quality product. Honestly one of the main reasons I return, the cut and quality of the meat is immaculate! Very nice butcher shop near Las Vegas Water District complex. You will be amazed at the variety and quality of meats here. They have a freezer section filled with exotic meats as well. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

I was looking for a source of good organ meat with which to put my German Shepherd dog on a raw food diet and extend his life expectancy. Not only does this butcher get regular deliveries of organ meats, but they have pre-packed raw meat meals specifically for dogs! I just got off the phone with a very nice and helpful employee that answered all my questions about finding the business location, it's hours, and options for shopping there. For disabled patrons, they accept EBT for their products. I can't wait for my first shopping visit tomorrow (they are receiving an organ meat delivery tonight) Thanks to the scouting call I made today I have very good expectations.

This is the only place I go for meat. The staff is very knowledgeable and always friendly. Especially the butcher Larry, he is always willing to go above and beyond for me when I’m looking for something special or just need a certain cut. This place even has there own raw dog food and that’s all I’ll feed my pups, they love it! I recommend this place to all my friends and coworkers, it’s way better then any other butcher shop in LV. No wonder they been in business so long!

Great meat, pork, beef or chicken. Also the hotdogs are amazing. The pork chops are real tender, and the chops in the case are the right thickness for grilling. There is no water in the chicken, it tastes really fresh. Any of the beef we have had from Larry's Great Western Meats has been better than anything you can buy in the grocery store, tender and full of flavor. My favorite hotdog is hands down Larry's Great Western Meats, long plump and full of taste, everything we have purchased at Larry's Great Western Meats is better than you can get in a regular grocery store.

This is the spot. Locally owned/operated. Always friendly & helpful. Been around for years. Haven't been here for over a year but they did a nice job renovating. New equipment, fresh product, clean business. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for. We come here once a year and stock up. They have Duck, venison, lengua, bone marrow, alligator, tallow, in addition to the usual items one would expect to see. These are the types of places that make Vegas feel like a community. Come check them out and be nice, everyone's been affected from the last 2 years.

We went to Larry’s Great Western Meats to get a huge prime rib for Thanksgiving. These guys are the best ! The employees were very helpful, the prices were reasonable and the service was outstanding. That prime rib was the best I have had in over 20 years ! Everyone at the Thanksgiving table was raving about how juicy and tender that prime rib was !! I highly recommend that you get your meats from Larry’s !

I Purchased a bone-in standing rib roast for a special dinner for my family , I had never cooked one before so I was nervous about it , but I cooked it using the " reverse sear method " Well that was 3 months ago and we are still talking about how unbelievable this meat was ! My Dad said it was the best prime rib he had ever had ! And my dad is 91 and has traveled all around the world and has eaten his fare share of prime rib , so that meant a lot to me ! And I was proud of myself that it came out perfect medium rare ! I Have to give Larry's credit for carrying such a wonderful product ! I Also got a whole brisket and some ground bison ,It was all very flavorful and the guy's behind the counter were very helpful and extremely informative and knowledgeable about all of my questions and their suggestions ! Thank You for all you help to make our dinner very special !! Will be shopping there for all my meats and seafood !!

I took my first trip down to Great Western Meats today. I met the son and some of the team. They are very friendly and happy to help, especially with all the shortages. They are not selling traditional packages right now but are doing build your own packages with what ever is in the front case. We got an A package with some 1-1 substitutions. Now prices have been going up the owner told me but there is nothing they can do when their prices go up from the farms and ranches. They are still one of the best and cheapest I butcher shops I have ever been to before. Also I just cooked up some of their bacon, and it was amazing! I am very picky with my bacon, and have had it shipped from across the US including made at home bacon. This honey bacon was great and I highly recommend it. I cannot wait for things to get back to normal and for they guys to expand across town!

Really cool place! I came here to pick up a pig to spit roast. They had 14lbs and up which is perfect. Cost about $120 for 14lbs. The store is more than just meats, though they have plenty of that. I saw a lot of house made sauces, rubs, salsas, they had what looked like salad dressings. BBQ sauce etc. great selection. As to the price of the meats, seemed reasonable. The cuts are obviously much nicer than your grocery store. Definitely want to come back. And staff was super cool! That’s always a plus, especially when you don’t know what you’re doing. There’s no need to be rude to someone like that. The staff was helpful and dint make me feel inferior for not knowing.

The only place in Vegas with real sausage Cajun Style is so good. Just got more for the pressure cooker comes out like butter. Hot dogs for the kids they love the 1/4 lb ones the best all smiles.

To my surprise Larry's offers seafood now! I bought some salmon on my last visit and the gentleman behind the counter told me it was fresh. That was an understatement! I have never tasted such delicious salmon in my life! It was enjoyed by every member of our family and from now on our salmon will be purchased only at Larry's! My wife and I went for the first time the day of our anniversary to pickup some nice Fillets. They cut them off a huge side 1.75 inches thick around 12-14 ounces. They were perfect and the meats color was awesome. The taste, incredible. The staff was super friendly and when they found out it was our anniversary they gave us the highest quality meat (Center Cut) at the lower cost (End cut). Our 9 year old son was not feeling that well and the staff took their time to wish him well on our way out. Friendly, professional staff and the meat is outstanding. I am going back today for more. I will visit Larry's from now on for the finest meats in town. It doesn't get better than this!

My family and I have been finding it be a challenge to afford to eat healthy financially. Our babies would always get the best of what we could afford, but my husband and I haven't been able to do the same for ourselves. I found this place on Google with great reviews. I compared prices with other stores and you really can't beat the high quality, great price, customer service, and freshness of the meat they carry. I came in with my twin 2 year olds on my hips as they just woke up and refused to let me put them down. The gentleman at the counter had someone help me asap. They answered all of my questions and made me feel extremely welcome. They even helped me out to my car! Thank you so much for a great experience and I can actually better afford the food we all should be able to eat. It shouldn't be a luxury to eat healthy. Thank you for making it possible! The meat had absolutely no smell. I even gave some to my dog who has refused everything I've tried giving him, but inhaled the grass fed ground beef mixed with fruit and vegetables. This will definitely be the only place I go to get my quality meat. Thanks again!

Wonderful service, awesome meats. Been going here for years. Love them. I posted this few months ago. I went to Larry's on 08/09/19 In over 39 years I have never been disappointed until today! I spent over $128.00 and because I brought my own bag into the store the young lady that took my order and rang me up would NOT put my purchase into MY bag. I said excuse me....but just for future reference you should put the purchases into the bag. The YOUNG lady told me it's YOUR bag and walked off. When I got home the Ground round that I purhased was not labeled on 4 of the 5 packages. I also requested LEAN stew meat. The YOUNG lady informed me it was ALL lean. As she was packaging it, only the top layer of meat on the tray was lean. Customer service is not what it used to be. After all of these years, very disappointing Quality of the meat from Larry's is terrific. Customer service has diminished.

My first impression while I walk to the store was superb. As I walking into the story I was greeted by a good morning by the owner and cashier while a gentleman named mark served me 2 of the best t-bone steaks I have ever had. Even thought the price is a bit higher than expected the customer service and quality made up for it by far. 10/10 review I would definitely recommend anyone to go and check it out.

Also love that they have a cork board with pictures of different dogs and do a contest for cutest dog. Not as good as it was when Larry Hughes founder of Larry’s meats owned it. Prices are way up and the grocery store part is run down. I shopped there for years growing up. We use to be able to get cow fat for free to do our deer processing for hamburger and this guy now that owns it charges for it. Really you cut it off and throw it away and want to charge people. Just not the same atmosphere. Poor!

My daughters and I shop there weekly. The team behind the counters are friendly, always smiling and welcomeing. As for there selections of meats and the service they offer they are on point. The pricing is reasonable and I wouldn't shop anywhere else for meat everything we have purchased and tried has never left us dissappointed. My daughters enjoy the beef jerky the most and the variety of seasoning flavors offered. They also sell mesquite smoked wood chips and others we have yet to enjoy grilling with! I'm a meat kind of guy and look for the best meats when I host dinners. I have gotten meats from all over and have never considered price as the thing to hold me back from getting the best. Great western meats has a quality better then prime cuts and the service was knowledgable and friendly. The best part about these guys is the bang for the buck. You cannot find this grade of meat at a better price and always cheaper then costcos finest. I consider this place a diamond in the rough.

I will not buy my meat feom any other place in town. This place has the freshest meat. You go in once and u will never buy ur meat any where else, trust me. The people that work in this store are so nice and are the best. This place is clean. You can lots of good meat in large or small quanties, love it. You can even great fresh cut bones for ur dogs. There is no other choice for meat in Vegas. Larry's is the perfect old-school butcher shop. The quality is superb and the service is always friendly and knowledgeable. Skip the supermarket and get your meat from Larry's. My only complaint is that they break down the back a bit early, so if you want a custom cut, you need to get there more than a few hours before they close.

This place is AMAZING! We had just moved out here and were staying at an Air BnB while house hunting. One of our dogs had become ill so we took him to the vet only to find out he had cancer and had to be put down. Came here and they helped us with some awesome treats for his final night with us. Since we have found Larry’s we don’t shop anywhere else, they have the quality beef, pork , lamp and chicken and the prices are very reasonable as well, this year I ordered our turkey from them and it was so delicious. This place simply rocks. I love the fact that they have various types of wild game meat. One of the things I missed the most from my childhood was eating wild game that my family and I would go out and hunt for every year. Every time I go into this place it brings back all of those wonderful childhood memories.
