In a very nice area, nice, clean and fun place to just hang out and look at books. Came here with my wife. She got a book and sat by the window to read. Was an overcast day so it was quite a nice vibe to just read and chill while watching the Bradley fair district. They have a Starbucks area with some unique pastries that I’ve never seen at other chains! The staff is kind and friendly. They were quick to help when I asked a question.

I love Barnes and Noble. Actually went to relax a bit before more shopping. I also needed a phone charge. I went and had a wonderful latte at the B&N Starbucks, charged my phone a bit, visited with my friend, very nice. Browsed the store a bit and came upon all these great calendars and datebooks marked down to $2 each. It was only first part of February. Wal-Marts calendars were still $9.98 I noticed that evening. Nice place to shop, relax and recharge myself and my phone.

I love this bookstore, I have been coming here for years and just like the atmosphere. There is a starbucks like coffeeshop in the back of the store. In addition to books they have movies , music, board games, art supplies, comic books. Good place to spend a chill afternoon

Always clean and smelling amazing. If you get mocha cookie crumble crunch fraps, they don't make them here in this BN's Starbucks. Get a Java chip frap instead. Just as delicious!

Barnes and Noble is an amazing place if you ever need a book to read, they are also very friendly and have a built in Starbucks if you ever get hungry or thirsty while inside, I love this Barnes and Noble, can't wait to visit you again.

This is the best book and music store in Wichita. Music is a little more expensive than Best Buy but they have ten times the selection.... Best Buy no longer has C d's at all and Barnes & Noble is phasing them out. Still my favorite music store in Wichita. Update: They now have the 2nd largest collection of new vinyl in Wichita.. Compact disks no longer exist. Still one of my favorite music and movie stores.

I enjoy browsing in this store. They have a big selection of various types of books and magazines. They also have records and CDs but not as many as they used to have. Not sure what the reason is for reducing the size of their music section.

Great bookstore, I honestly love visiting these. I use a lot of eBooks, but still love coming into the store itself, and reading through books and browsing through the deals. Their e-readers are great! But nothing can beat a bookshelf full of books!

Barnes and Noble is always a sensory exploration. I love browsing the books and products available. The stores prices are high. You can usually find the same books and products at a lower price on line. However, ordering on line isn't as fun as the in-store experience. And, ebooks are great. But, there's something about holding a physical book that will always beat reading on a Kindle or tablet. In my humble opinion.

Great selection of books and the staff was very friendly. I did knock off one star because the books there are quite expensive, more than I'm willing to pay most of the time. That isn't this locations fault but I wanted to note that. Overall, very nice experience.

Pretty much the only place I get my books. Only reason I gave B&N 4/5 is because the took out the kiosks with the latest remodel. I sometimes have a list of books I want to find and to bother an employee for that much is ridiculous.

Very helpful and friendly staff, but did experience some trouble getting attention from some. They were quickly helping some right when they came in through the door whereas I who was in the store for well over 30 mins didn't get asked if i needed help. Hard not to bring up the fact that I was the only brown person in there at the time, I'll try not to read too much into that. As when i did ask for help the lady was very attentive and informative. This location is still my favorite when i visit Wichita.

Inviting reading atmosphere for all ages. Nearby coffee shop seats fill up towards the end of the day. Summer reading challenge for kids in 2022 runs from 1st July to August 31st 2022. Be sure to get ask for a copy of your Cafe receipt if you need it for bookkeeping as they tend to dispose the receipts immediately after purchase.

Barnes and Nobel is always such a fun store to go into. They have lots of options and have an overwhelmingly comforting atmosphere! Love it here and try to go as much as we can. They have every book I’ve ever needed and more! Staff are friendly, and the Starbucks is a plus! My only complaint is that I wish we had more throughout Wichita!

I was surprised to see that their prices were lower than the online prices of what we were looking for! Very nice! The checkout employee was great and cheerful! Such a great experience!! Thank you!!

They rearranged the shelves and I honestly was turned around for a second. I think it's one of the mouse maze experiments, but on a human scale. Once I found my way out, I appreciated the help the staff gave in loolcating several books. I like to browse here, but to go in and actually find a certain book, I most often have to ask.

Such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I visited during the hot summer months and the inside was nice and air conditioned. Towards the back area, there was a quiet space for reading with large windows that let in the natural light. There was a cafe inside as well and I got an iced coffee to sip as I browsed the bookstore. There was a wide variety of books to choose from, books of different subjects were easy to locate and there were many beautiful journals that caught my eye. When I have the money for them, I'll definitely be returning. Maybe the most alluring of all was the shelves of Harry Potter related books and merchandise. A lovely experience that I will be repeating.

I love this place. Could walk around here for hours. I wish it were as big as some of the ones in the KC area, but I'm still impressed with the selection. Haven't had much interaction with the staff but they all seem fairly helpful.

It was a book store, or at least what is currently called a book store. It was clean and well organized, the selection was there but a little lacking. But I am someone that was used to hitting Walden Books in the mall and wasting a few hours looking through the books.

I got a stunning refillable leather journal. I kinda wish they had more fountain pens for journalling when i went. They had 2 kinds cartography and drawing fountain pens. These felt pens will work for now and they are rather stylish and have a good tip! If only i had more money to spend on books, I want so many things! Your employees were so helpful, and not just one or two employees. Practically everyone knew their stuff and did well at their job! I will be returning, no doubt about that!

I made the time to get to one of my favorite stores. I guess I'm nerdy, but I just love bookstores! B&N is an example of a well organized & clean store. It has a staff of very knowledgeable employees, who are pleasant & helpful to those who seek assistance. The store itself is laid out in such a manner that a customer can easily navigate to the location of pertinent literature they came for. The Cafe is always a must for any bookstore. I love to get a soda or coffee & just listen to others talking of their purchases, or of trending news. Thanks B&N for providing such a store, that I can enjoy such experiences!

Nice place to browse books to read I prefer romance novels but I also like paranormal stuff to read as well...I like Chakra and oracles and different spiritual beliefs stories about Greek gods and all I enjoy horror stories too..I know wide vast selection but healing stones power of positive thinking self help and anything about keeping narcissistic men away... I like angel tarot as well... I like increasing knowledge of unknown although I have my own beliefs... as I have had many experiences I can not really explain myself. I hate history cuz it always repeats itself some idiot thinks he's God always starts a war. Never learns so I like peace but seldom get it... clean place nice get away. Have never ate or drank there either as not a coffee drinker. But a nice atmosphere place where you are seldom bothered. I love adult coloring books and journals too nice selection of journals. Could use more coloring books.

I LOVE this store! I love books and can get consumed in this store for hours. Sometimes it can be hard to find assistance, you have to walk all the way up front or go look for someone (maybe there's a secret I don't know, lol). I did hear bells going off, like someone was calling an assistant for help, but I couldn't find anything indicating this. Then again, I couldn't get my eyes of all those beautiful books!

The place has such a nice vibe to it, all the workers are nice. Especially this one female worker at the Starbucks section. I never caught her name, but she had short black hair and a rainbow collar. She was really nice, and helped accommodate my drink when the store ran out of the stuff I wanted. Just a small thing, but she really made my day and workers like her really have me enjoying barns and nobles!

Been in a couple times to look through books with my 1 year old but this time the older gentlemen restocking the shelves was so rude and unfriendly. Talking under his breath about how certain books shouldn't be positioned that way and just talking smack. We were sitting there reading a book to our son and he was slamming books back on the shelf right in front of us. We are in the baby section dude chill out you have been open for 30 minutes... Not someone who normally reviews places but come on man restocking shelves is literally your job...

I was told they carry specialty playing cards for Canasta. However, they did not have any on stock. Many stores are low on a lot of products since the pandemic began. We made due with poker cards. Just as good. :)

There's something about Barnes and Nobles that I legitimately cannot find any faults in. There is so much here. So many amazing books and such a good atmosphere. I haven't bought anything here since I was 10 but I've been here every month for the last 7 months. My girlfriend and I just roam around looking at things. I also want to mention that the Lego aisle is actually more affordable here than places like Target or Walmart. I've looked. All in all, an amazing place.

This is by far my favorite book store in Kansas, aside from used book stores & metaphysical stores. They have the most insane variety of every kind of book & subject you can imagine. It's huge. They also have a Starbucks so that's a plus. They have the best selection of New Age, Spiritual topics & Tarot/oracle decks. However, more people are becoming interested in the subject so they don't have quite as big of selection as they did a year or 2 ago. Still impressive though. I don't believe anyone can leave this store without spending a little more than they intended. I certainly can't ;)

Typical Bookstore. Staff is friendly and there is a Star-B "type" coffee shop inside. A general manager told us once that Starbucks had a contract with B&N before they got big and when they were popularized, B&N had to stop using the name but the coffee and foods are Starbucks. Whatever. My family can spend a Saturday there and not be bored!

Smell of fresh coffee and new books. Plenty of seating for reading or visiting. Children's area, including books and activities. I was able to find everything I needed (and some bought on impulse). The crew were all very nice and helpful in finding what I was looking for and during checkout. Also, I was unaware until the day I went in that they do a "book fair" fundraiser, where they support local schools by giving back a portion of the proceeds made that to to a school in the area. Really neat!!

I like being able to browse through the books and magazines with my daughter and seeing all the different options available for both of us. It is our time together. And you can get coffee and a snack. I really wish there was the really comfortable chairs that B & N used to have but it is still a really great place.

They have a great staff and quick check out process. Arrived on 12/23/18 and the line stretched to the back of the store. I was not looking forward to what was surely going to be an hour in line. However, I ended up getting out the door in about 10 minutes. The membership is worth it if you buy just a couple of books a year.

Had such a great time shopping at Barnes & Noble with my daughter and granddaughter. We found the books we were looking for as well as some great Christmas gifts. We topped off our visit with a trip to the Starbucks located in the back of the store and thoroughly enjoyed delicious cookies and lattes. A lovely time was had by all. Kudos to the employees in the bookstore for their help in locating some specific books and to the baristas in Starbucks for their kind, courteous service and fantastic recommendations.

I love this place. Sure it's overpriced but there are so many times you can find a good deal on books that ot is worth stopping in just to look around. I found my new favorite author here by picking up a pack of books on sale. Now I have more books to read than ever. The authors name is Brandon Sanderson by the way. Also super nice, very clean store and restroom and coffee.

Great location, big store, clean, well lite and very organized. This store should have majority of what you are looking for. If they don't, you can order it through them and they will have it shipped to the store or to your house for you. Cafe located inside if fantastic. There are places to find some cheaper books, but this place has its share of cheap books and they have a larger quantity and variety than other book stores. Great place to pickup any book that you must have right away.

Nice friendly atmosphere. Coffee shop inside makes for a very 'urban' experience. Some sections could use a little more organization, it's easy to find two or three of the same book on different shelves in some section; but I've never found a book to be in the misplaced in the wrong genre. They also have a great selection of board games and media.

Staff was friendly goofy and enthusiastic, Well kept store interesting displays. Cafe is medium pricey($4 for a pastry), but considering you don't have to leave the store too get cofee and cake it's worth the cost.

Not quite the same as our own Hastings. It is a nice store. Stephen at the customer service desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. The other employees are nice, polite and helpful. The store was clean. Well lit. I did not have to wait long in the checkout line. I know we will be back.

Highly, overly crowded, and no floor employee asked if I needed help. But this is common during the holidays. The main reason I left feeling disappointed was that the man at the cash register, possibly the head cashier even, seemed antsy to go on break, rather than focused on customer care, unfortunately. He didn't once smile or say "have a nice day" or even "thank you" to us. I understand it's a crazy holiday season, but, and maybe it is just my mindset, when I worked in this type of position, I tried to make each customer feel welcome. The customer should be the focus. He literally called up another manager in his earphone while handing us our receipt, saying, "hey I'd really like to take my break now." This WOULD NOT have bothered me, bc I know how busy it can get, and that taking time to put self first is important for health, except that this is how he ended our service. He didn't smile, he didnt say "have a nice day", and he didnt say "thanks, come and see us again," even after we said "thank you" to him. It was very awkward and cold.

Nice store with a wonderful cafe. Great place to meet for coffee or hot chocolate, and grab a relaxing holiday read. Also nice bags and gift items for the artsy people on your list. Don't miss the children's area for the latest Christmas sories and a copy of Twas the Night before Christmas.

I enjoy having a B&N close, albeit the only one in the city but if I'm looking for a book that day it's nice to have. The only qualms I have with it is that the majority of their online prices do not match the store prices. Their website will have a much lower price and if you're not paying attention you won't notice. At first they said they wouldn't match their own stores online price but after talking to a manager they helped fix this. I hope it will always be this way and not a frustration.

I can never seem to find help here & the look-it-up-yourself kiosks are gone. However, the roving customer service guy is a great idea & ended up helping me twice today in 2 different sections. Planned on buying a new tablet to replace S2 but the tablets they have now have the same specs as my S2. Very disappointing. Highlight of my visit was the young man who was my cashier. He was pleasant, fast & knowledgeable about memberships & all the freebies.

Barnes & Noble is as good as it's going to get I think and I doubt they're going to read this post or try to correct anything but I do have two sources of contention with them. While they do offer a wheelchair to their patrons the wheelchairs are so small that only a very thin person would fit in them. I barely got my big butt in one of their wheelchairs. They also need to take into consideration placement of their stands/racks because I ended up having to go around the long way a few times because I couldn't fit between two stands in their wheelchair. I was also disappointed to learn that they would not mail magazines to a person who is incarcerated. Since jails/prisons will not allow friends nor family to send the magazines it has to come directly from the merchant so I'll have to look elsewhere for the magazines.

The only thing that does bother me is the bathroom upkeep need to be better or just cleaned or replace the toilet seats. Shouldnt look like a old highway gas station bathroom with the rest of the store being as nice as it is. Renovate the bathroom in the only complaint. Always room for improvment.

This is a great place to go and spend some free time. You can spend hours in there finding books about all subjects. The little café in the back is reasonably priced and well kept. You don't realize how long you're in there until you look at your watch. The prices for the books are not overwhelming. I recommend going there.

Generally a good bookseller. But that's about it. I've purchased four records from them, and returned two of them, as they've been just shy of unplayable. The recent reorganization is kind of okay. I think it's a little difficult to find what you're looking for in, but it's not the worst. But their music section looks like it was organized by a five year old, and a very stupid one at that. It took me twenty minutes to track down a single item. There's no sense to it. It's obvious that it was thrown together in ten minutes so some guy could leave early.

Typical B&N chain except that it is located in friendly, Wichita, KS. Therefore, the employees are helpful, courteous and efficient. They have a loyalty program that serves almost as a membership that costs money. I'm not big on paying money for a loyalty program but you will be politely asked at check out. They have the best magazine selection in the city but occasionally I have found they have the British issue of some of the magazines I read. There are always people working or studying in the Starbuck's and in the various nooks and crannies of the store.

Are you kidding me? I've been coming here since it opened. The customer service is always friendly. I walk in and I feel 100 IQ points smarter. The wait in the cafe can sometimes be long but they aren't staffed like a full starbucks and they do the very best they can. Only downfall is that corporate won't allow them to honor deals that you see on the B&N website. You can either get the deal on the website or you can walk out with the item at full price from the store. But I've been a member for close to 18 years now, always worth it.

Since 2 of Sandra's great-grandchildren are celebrating their birthdays this weekend I suggested we go to Barnes and Noble and buy them gifts, tote bags, and cards. We were wanting specific gifts for a 6 and 3 year old girls. When were unsure of where to find the items I called the store and Heather came to where we were and found what we wanted and what we bought bought. From there I took Sandra to the quilt books in the hobby area and she selected a book for herself, (from me). In years past I used to love going to this store and look for long periods of time. I can't do that now. I'm disabled and had to look and look, without anyone asking if I needed help, for their very small "religion/christianity " section, before FINALLY finding it tucked clear back in the far back corner. Finally figured out a little later that I'd been standing next to a store employee much of the time during my search. Of course, with such a small section, they didn't have a very good selection or the book I needed. So I hobbled all the way to the far front corner to order it and painfully stood there while the lady searched for my selection and entered my information, 2-3 times as I have an unusual spelling. She did offer to get me a wheelchair when I first got to the desk, because I could barely stand, but I turned it down, not realizing how long it was going to take to complete ordering my books. Next time, I'll order it online....from them, but online. I'll have to get a motorized chair before I can go there again.

I like to just browse the stacks and if I'm unsure of a title, look it up, not have to hike all the way to the front of the store and wait in line for a 5 second thing.

This specific Barnes and Noble is complete nerd-vana. There is a huge "pop culture" section filled with Game of Thrones and Harry potter merchandise ... There is a lot more, too much to list here. The store is large and there is a"Nook" section right in the middle that allows you to browse the various Nook models, purchase them as their accessories. This is by far the best Barnes and Noble I've ever been in.

Even if the model for buying books in a brick and mortar store is a bit dated, this is still a wonderful place. Anywhere full of books, where you can sip on some coffee is AOK in my book.
