I really enjoyed visiting Al-Hikma bookstore this weekend. The store carries a wide variety of books in both English and Arabic. There are books touching on a number of topics such as culture, religion, philosophy, biographies, etc. They will give you a tour and explain everything to you and are very helpful. I found a a really interesting book on astrology from 1963!

This place is a gem that I wish I had known about years ago! They have every book you can think of including books for those who are looking to learn the Arabic language. The owner, Mr. Dhiyaa, is a very kind man who gave me a tour of the bookstore. He truly made feel welcomed and has a beautiful mission with his bookstore. I will definitely be visiting again and I HIGHLY recommend this place! I purchased two books on duaas- both of which are amazing and were reasonable prices. Thank you Mr. Dhiyaa and I hope your store continues to benefit those in our community!

This is a very good and cozy Arabic language bookstore, nestled in a low-key office strip in the heart of suburban Virginia. It has a limited English language section, focused mostly on geopolitics. But the overall emphasis is on Arabic books. It has a very extensive set of offerings covering the Arab/Israeli conflict. A major strength of the shop lies in academic works on politics, history, and governance, but it has a substantial section on dictionaries, literature, religion, even children's books.

Wonderful store with an incredible selection of books in Arabic and English. The owner Dhiya was so sweet and gave me an amazing tour of his shop and explained everything to me since it was my first time there. Nadia teaches Arabic and was so helpful in recommending a few books to help me brush up on my Arabic language skills. They have events with authors and a book club. A great place to visit especially if you are feeling nostalgic for the region and culture 🤗

If you're looking for a better understanding of Arabic culture or just the Middle East in general, you should read from the pages of the various intellectuals who lived there. This book store have it all! From different times in the history of the Arabs to many topics and aspects of their communities to their thoughts and troubles. Make sure they take you on a tour if it's your first time there so they can tell you all about it. I love this place!!!

Great place to buy Arabic books in different fields. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and well respected, and he take the time to listen to his customers and give them a tour at the bookstore to help them find the best books that fit their needs. As far as I know, this is the only bookstore in the region that have such amazing Arabic books collection at all levels starting from Arabic as a second language all the way to professional writers and researchers. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Great Bookstore and a Very Friendly Owner I have been a customer at this fine establishment for over 15 years. This is hands down the best Arabic Bookstore in Northern Virginia and greater Washington area overall. You will not be disappointed with the rich variety of titles housed in this bookstore, covering a wide range of topics and authors. Walking into the store you will be greeted with a warm smile and welcoming voice of its owner, Mr. Dhiya. He always takes the time to show me new titles and even spend considerable effort to make sure I get the books and resources I need for in my research. Mr. Dhiya is not just a bookstore owner, he is also deeply knowledgeable about Arab history, culture and geopolitical events and knows by heart which books and authors to recommend for any topic you might have in mind. Al-Hikma bookstore is also a regular stop for us and our kids to get Arabic story books and Arabic language learning material. If you have been having lots of free time during this pandemic like me and many people, this is the place to go for Arabic books and publications.

Being one of the only Arabic book stores in the DC area, they definitely did not disappoint! I am currently a college student and decided to take an Arabic culture and civilization class. The owner not only helped me find great sources for my essays and assignments (which really impressed my professor), but also spent over 30 minutes explaining the culture and historical events and meanings behind each book. Significant collection of books and publications that are not available online or elsewhere. Different subjects and disciplines from theology and politics to comics and cooking. What makes it even better is the owner who is such a knowledgeable and encyclopedic person. Whenever I feel a nostalgia to reading an Arabic book I go there and can easily spend couple hours without noticing. In addition to the book store, they offer a professional and certified translation service for a very reasonable charge.

And always a welcome one from the owner of the library and its employees, as they organize a tour of the library and display the new available titles and answer all questions in various fields due to the culture and knowledge that the library owner enjoys. In addition to the hospitality and reception, which makes you come back to visit the library again. So I think the library deserves five stars

Through my frequent visits to the Al-Hikma Library, I found the director and staff of the library all the appreciation and respect, speed and high quality of service, comprehensive knowledge and full knowledge of what is going on in the cultural arena. A huge library that includes many sections and multiple titles that exceed 30,000 books in various disciplines in Arabic and English, in addition to monthly and quarterly cultural periodicals. In addition to the above, the library provides additional services such as legal translation, documentation service (notary public), a school for teaching the Arabic language, and holding many intellectual and cultural evenings dealing with several topics by many intellectuals, including writers, poets, and specialists in Middle Eastern issues. I recommend visiting it and setting up a store on the online purchase platforms (Amazon) to benefit from its services more.
