I was new to the comic world not so long ago, and it was overwhelming to start getting into the hobby, as there are endless comics. However, the staff at Trilogy was very helpful and friendly. They schooled me and really simplified things for me to take it all in. Now, I've become a regular and it's always a nice time visiting and seeing what's new. They have a lot of different collectibles as well, not just comics. It's definitely worth the visit.

TONS OF COMICS!! To bad you need to restack all the boxes of toys and clutter on top to search boxes. You’d figure with that kind of inventory there would be 50c or dollar bins but none could be found. The cashier was friendly and talkative so that was cool.

Excellent selection of cards, figures, and comics. The only local comic book shop that had the One Piece figure I was looking for, and there were is a decent selection of cards and more comic books then you could read in a lifetime.

Ok so I'm a total Otaco and SIFY nerd, I've been to a lot of these kinds of places and most would be ok to disappointed reviews. This place I went in with a neutral out look of it entered and wow it's got so much stuff (there is boxes of stuff that hasent or cant fit everywere looks messy but is great quolity) from category's to variety in each category most notable categories being. Super hero comics/and more, anime/manga and more, SIFI-dude working had staretrack playing on his phone, playing cards (smallest categorie, dont do so idk the quality or related games). Thay got older items to the newest editions/volumes. Hope I get to go again!!!

a bit messy but the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable on what they sell. Their prices for comics and manga are as expected but figure merchandise tend to be a bit higher priced due to assumably accounting for import costs. Overall they're all still reasonable.

There are some comic shops that are clinical and have everything in crisp boxes or displayed easily on spacious tables. And those places are fine. But I'll take the well-organized (if packed) chaos of a store like Trilogy every day. If you're looking for back issues, there's a very good chance you'll find them here. If you're looking for figurines, manga, cool old toys, or geeky paraphanalia, this is the place to be. If you're in the market for newer issues, there's an entire wall dedicated to them. And, despite the appearances, every book I found was still in excellent condition. There's a great deal of care in the clutter. Seriously, stop looking for comics and FIND THEM at Trilogy.

A hidden gem! The amount of anime merchandise is incredible. They have everything from figurines to magazines and even hard to find items that are no longer in production. Store owner and employees are very nice as well. Will definitely be coming back.

This place has a large variety of things (comics, manga, anime figures, books, etc etc) Lots of stuff that may be harder to find elsewhere in the area. I cant recommend buying anything other than books/manga that already have a price on the back of them, as so many things either had no pricetag or are extremely overpriced, namely the figures. Im not sure how they come up with the prices for some items, as it seems completely random. Before buying something, I'd recommend Googling it to see its actual retail price. I understand some shops have to charge more to make a profit, but $100 for a $50 nendoroid is ludacris. Its gotten a bit more organized over the years, but its still kinda hard to navigate while inside. Its fun to mostly peruse around and window shop, or pick up some books.

This place is a treasure trove! They have a great mixture of new books and classic back issues. I'm very glad I found this place! If you're looking for a shop with some serious inventory depth for a collector, this is a great place to start. The owner knows his stock and was able to take me right to the issues I needed.

Be you a visitor, someone just getting into collecting or an expert, this shop has a massive selection, a beyond friendly staff, and an owner whos been open for 40 years so the man knows his stuff. Only started going there this March and now I go three times a week. It's an addiction and it's fun. You won't be disappointed going here.

This is a very well stocked and trusted source for comics, sci-fi and colectables. The shop has been at this location for almost 40 years. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I was in the area for one night only and looking for something to read. When I entered the staff was friendly attentive and asked if there was anything thing I was looking for. I was not sure after being stunned by the massive selection. I will say that I don't know if the store was in it's usual state. However, the place was messy with lots of product. After narrowing down some ideas I asked for help. The staff was excited to give me a multitude of options they thought I would love based off of my preferences. I walked out with 2 trade paperbacks that I devoured that night. The selections that were recommended were great! The place would be a 10/5 (because the selection is awesome and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly) if the place was organized as it would be easier for new guests to find what they were looking for. All in all a fantastic store.

This place does seem very crowded but the variety of comics, manga, figures etc. were very exceptional. The owner and his son are very knowledgeable about their work and it shows. Fair pricing if you compare them to other stores. But most aisles are only 1 per person so it's a tight squeeze.

A unique comic store that had quite a bit of variety on everything fandom has to offer. I found back issues I hadn't been able to find anywhere else, the staff was incredibly friendly, and I really dig the store. I was able to attend during a sale which always helps, the prices were reasonable, and they worked to help me find things that I only had partial information on. There's only one issue I had, there was so much stuff is hard to take it in and just a casual trip.

The owner is nice, and it's mind-boggling to think how they got their collection of 100s of 1000s of comics in order. The down-side is that they really could stand some spring cleaning, signs inside the shop to help you find your way around, and new shelves. Bottom line is that they do have a very, very good selection and I'm glad I visited.

One of the few old-school comic book shops left in the area. Whether you're looking for new, mainstream comics or old, small press runs they have a huge selection. The staff will help from the moment you walk in or leave you to wander the shelves as you choose. They also have a large section of Manga, collectables of every stripe, and even some gaming and novels.

First things first, this is no doubt one of the best comic book stores I've ever been to in the time I have collected comics. I am a huge Punisher / The Walking Dead fan, and they helped me find all the issues I was looking for. It is like comic heaven, and I understand why some claim it is clustered, but if you were to ask them if they had the issue you were particularly looking for, they would show you where it was. The owner was one of the most helpful people I've ever met, and so were all the staff. I will most certainly come here for my comics when I come to Virginia Beach.

Very cool shop! Was on the hunt for Injustice comics which was not in store & was helped by a staff member who was friendly & knowledgeable to have it ordered. Picked up a collectible while in store. Definitely worth checking out!

A very authentic down to earth comic book store. If you are looking for the quintessential catch all kind of comic store this is it. They have a wonderfully large selection of older comics and manga and have a variety of other comic related goods. The card games are also plentiful and well organized. Just be careful not to get lost!!

The owner is a nice guy and very attentive to his customer's needs but he is definitely NOT the best value in the area. I would go here if you couldn't find what you need at other shops, the prices at this place are ridiculous and I feel sorry for the people who buy the overpriced vintage issues from here. Go to Comic Kings, Joey is extremely fair priced and remembers each of his customers as they walk through the door. Here's an example of the customer service at Comic Kings, I brought in an issue to trade for store credit, he gave me the maximum credit and only sold it for $5 more than he bought it from me for. I will buy from no one else in the area.

Look, the store has improved. I walked in here one day and had a good experience and good deals they were running. I still can't shake the feeling that this store price gouges comics and focuses too much on top dollar prices, rather than moving product to happy customers. There are comics that I recognize from a year ago still in the same box and still same $40 price tag for a cover detached comic with tape and significant water damage. Just one example. I only come in here for deals and only like one employee who I wish I got his name. Really nice dude. I still am not too big a fan of the owner. The manga are also a little overpriced and don't seem to move too much either. Seems more like a collection than store stock honstely. Now, I will also add I do not appreciate when employees and or friends (was confusing) just sat around and cussing up a storm about who knows what. It just makes the atmosphere extremely ghetto and toxic. I would not bring my kid in here if that is the language and topics being used on a constant basis. The store remains unorganized and or barely organized and boxes upon boxes stacked on top of each other. The deals are good when they run them but some comics are too overpriced to where a deal just knocks it down a few dollars. I go in here pretty infrequently and will return for deals, I still wish they marked down stuff that just sits there and or have good prices to begin with. Okay store, come here for the deals.

You will NOT believe the volume of stuff ready for you to discover! The people are awesome as well. This is the one place you have to go to, especially on Comic Book Day.

This is an honest to goodness, old school comic shop! Walking into the place is like stepping back into the past. There are no neatly lined aisles or modern design, just tons of vintage and new comics, figures and toys from America and Japan. Do yourself a favor and step through the door! The store is crowded but has the largest new issue area I've seen in this area. Was able to find lots of titles and books here that I couldn't get anywhere else. Also lots of variant covers if you care about that. The guy (maybe the owner) was really helpful and gave me a little discount for buying a bunch at once. Only looked at one area in the store because I was in a rush but there is so much to see I'll definitely be back!

I'm for it not for the comics and collectables, though they have a lot of both, (I think that those sorts of things are too expensive now a days...) but the used paperbacks! I haven't seen a used book store in a long time, but they have a good amount of SF paperbacks from 60's thru 90's. Two downsides though: 1. Too much crowded in. While I normally wouldn't knock a lot being on offer, every surface (& some floor) completely covered, no baskets or other place to put selections. Hardly room to walk... aisles are 1 customer wide! 2. An even greater quantity of SF Novels were stacked in lids from display boxes alongside (& almost as high as) an entire counter., ... just looking through the top boxes I saw several I had growing up that I wanted for my kids, and haven't found available online. They weren't priced though, so the man there called the boss, & was told the owner hadn't looked through those yet, so they weren't for sale... maybe I'm being Louth, but I'd say make maneuvering room & store incoming / not yet for sale stuff somewhere else

I haven't visited a Comic book store in over 20 years and this Trilogy was the main store I used to shop at. They have comics GALORE!! The store is packed wall to wall and to the ceiling with comics, toys, posters, collectibles... Anything comic and fantasy related. It's a decent sized store and I believe they expanded since the last time I visited way back in 1999. The staff there were friendly and it was fairly easy to find what I was looking for although it can be a bit overwhelming when you first enter as they have so much content. The store has a vintage feel to it which makes the experience more personal and true to comic collectors in my opinion. I highly recommend checking this Trilogy out if you're in the area; you'll definitely find something you like.

While many others have pointed out the obvious state this particular comic book shop is in, regarding its cleanliness, I actually find it nice. It's tons of fun going through all the stuff this shop is selling, and there always seems to be something new every time I go in. Controlled chaos at it's best. Also this is the only place I know of that Seels a ton of figuarts, and figma figures for a reasonable price considering they are imports.

The best in Hampton Roads. I have lived here all my life (38 years old) and so many comic shops shut down after the 90s but before that they changed to become more about gaming and whatnot...TRILOGY REMAINED ABOUT THE COMICS FIRST AND FOREMOST and I will always respect them for that.

Trilogy has been my preferred shop for years. It's one of the few I've visited around the country that maintains that legacy comic shop vibe: you're immediately overwhelmed by fantasy, lore, and fandom which is what makes us stay a while. It's also been an excellent motivational tool I've used on my kid since kindergarten 😂👌🏼 I'm noticing there's a "boutique" theme hitting the comic shop scene which is cool and everything...but where are the back issues and extensive stock other than Funkos and vinyl/resin that you can get online Amazon Prime for 20_30% cheaper(?) Trilogy has all of this and so much more but hasn't fallen into this trend, it's obvious it's run by seasoned and passionate collectors, no way you'll leave that place without at least one or two extra things you couldn't risk someone else getting instead lol. To be fair, it's a few comic book shops in Hampton Roads that are really good and have that legacy air maintained by solid people, but Trilogy is just our preferred stop and hasn't given us a reason to go elsewhere when venturing out with the sole purpose of grabbing a few issues of whatever 💯

Finding what you are looking for is a bit challenging due to the shear volume of product but that's a good problem in my opinion. Nice little comic shop. Lot of modern and vintage comics/graphic novels. Needs some organization and clean up. They also have a modest amount of toys, but a large number selection of statues and things of that nature. Worth a check out if you're in the area.

Very good place. Nice place to buy comics, the staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions, and they regularly get new stuff. Wish they would carry some more card gaming stuff (specifically mtg), but i really can fault them for that, as it is, first and foremost, a comic shop. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars, is because it's kinda of cramp in thare. BOXS EVERYWHERE. Besides that, i would say its one of the best places in the Hampton roads area, to shop for comics atlest.

Stopped on on Father's Day 2017 and asked if there were old Lnights of the Dinner Table. He remembered I asked about them back in March, but they were not available a few months before. I was taken right to the long book with KOTD goodness. Very friendly team. Alpha sorted extensive and reasonably priced back issues. I picked up 3 new comics from this week and a variant Star Wars action figure cover I was lookin for as well. Go here and you will come away satisfied!

Ah-mazing! This place has everything. Toys, comics, games..etc. I bought a Transformers game and the Historia comic book. This is the type of place you'd expect to find a Mogwai, or the Hellraiser cube, or the Neverending Story book. The staff know their stuff and will talk about it with you. Great comic shop.

I love this place. I grew up a few blocks from Trilogy, and in fact it opened after I moved away in the 70s. But it has treasures galore, and it's a ton of fun browsing around. It's never the same from one visit to the next, and that is part of it's appeal. An institution, really. Be sure to stop by if you are in the area.

I visited Triliogy's Va beach location recently and I found 8-10 comics that I wanted within 5 mins. The owner, Aaron, took a few moments to introduce himself and nerd out with me about comics in general, which I thoroughly appreciated. This is my kind of comic book shop. When I move to VA Beach Trilogy is where I will get my comics.

Honestly for a comic store it's okay. It does have a wide selection of things from manga, anime, figures, comic books etc. It's basically nerd heaven! But I found the store very disorganized and inventory is stored everywhere in boxes so it's hard to tell what's for sale or not. Also it is overpriced on a lot of things. I found manga books that look used being sold for the cover price when they aren't really worth much to begin with. There was even a series(Fruits Basket)where the price per volume was twice the cover price and the owner claimed it was because it was out of print when only certain volumes were actually OOP and worth the mark-up. You could still get certain volumes in better condition at a lower price on amazon and now the series is no longer OOP and is being reprinted so good luck selling those now! Do your research online before buying anything here because there will likely be a better price online.

Went on 5.7.16 and loved it. I always joke people about if you go there, you may not come out. Literally Nerd Vana. I don't think they have a single genre they don't cover. I also have to thank them because that was the first place my gf and me hung out, when we were not attending school. She was crazy happy when she walked in and walked out with an entire series of Star Trek books. This is the coolest place for nerds hands down. If you are a nerd and you haven't herd of this place, you need to put that title on hold until you go. To put in perspective how many comic books they have (just comic books), you would literally sit there for 5 years 24/7 reading to get through the entire collection (provided you control the worlds economy) lol. FYI not actual, just estimate time.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. Lots of selection, but very unorganized. Be careful where you walk, you might trip over something. I almost did. They also need to clean up some of their trash that's laying around.
