An excellent store! There is a huge selection of books in every subject. I have particular interests in business, career transitioning, history and current events ..... AND books for baby granddaughters ...... and spent almost $200!! All books are already marked for Christmas gifts, business and military education and career transitioning. So much good stuff all in one place!! Many thanks to you all!!

Although finding specific categories was a bit challenging I have nothing else negative to say about that store. Everything was well stocked on the shelves despite it being a weekend evening during Christmas shopping season, the bathroom I used while there was meticulous (both of them are gender neutral and disabled friendly!) When searching for something I couldn't find it only took me about 20 seconds to find an employee to assist me, all around a solidly fantastic bookstore. There is a well run Starbucks in the front of the store with plentiful seating which was a nice break on a cold December evening to sit and drink something warm while contemplating purchases.

So small! It has a good selection, but is very small. I appreciated how clean it was but a good church of it was their cafe. We did get coffee and it was fine (they serve Starbucks products, but are not a Starbucks).

Only four stars because compared to other barnes and noble the technology section in store was small. Missed out on me spending an additional spontaneous 60 bucks. I will order online down the road. Still a good store though

The wife goes there. The place is clean, and people are knowledgeable. They are always ready to help you in locating what you want in the store or online. They have plenty of places to sit and drink your coffee.

It's Barnes & Noble. What can you really say? I love books ; they have books... Albeit overpriced books. I have bought a fair share of books from there . Purchases also include calendar/planner, bookmarks, study guides, and more. I just wish they had more chairs to lounge in as you peruse the different categories.

This place has been remodeled substantially. It also looks like the inside of an Apple store. Take that for what it is. This is NOT your standard B&N but it's a great cosmopolitan look. With the remodel comes a down size as well in all areas. I have to take a star off for that as I'd rather have the old store instead of a brand new one with less space and chairs. The current store is half the size of the old Barnes and Noble. Not only does that effect the amount of product available, you'll also notice a reduction on the amount of space available in the cafe as well as overall seating. The children section has also be reduced as well. It's nothing like the old store. I like the new store and from a business aspect I get what they're trying to do. They're staying relevant in an ever increasing digital word. This is more of a store for those who will predominantly be purchasing books online but still want to come in for a look see or just enjoy the cafe--not for those who need to have a specific book now instead of waiting for the mail. Flashy store but not worth the new remodel. Just glad it's back.

Pretty decent selection of books. Not the biggest barnes and noble, and definitely lacking in the additional fun things B&N usually carries (board games, music, toys, etc.), but still a decent enough Barnes and Noble!

Well I was a bit surprised by how small this Barnes & Noble actually was. With comparison to other Barnes & Noble I would say that this child was very limited. Even the entrance seemed sparse at best. You can tell it has been remodeled and the Starbucks portion is very nice but the bookstore and the availability of books and other items was quite limited.

I love Barnes and Noble. I'm sad they have removed most seating, but I will always go there. I hope they don't close. We need bookstores where we can go in, touch and feel books, and walk away with a treasure. I confess using Amazon often for price-- I've got kids that need stuff too, but I try to buy a book or puzzle whenever I walk in.

Large space, clean, eclectic hangout, open view to passerbys. Lots of outlets, Wi-Fi and coffee. I visited again this morning. I accidentally dropped my. Blueberry muffin. The very sweet girl at the counter gave me another at no charge. It's a nice place to do work.

I’m not sure how much longer Barns and Noble will actually remain open. The nice and polite employee who helped me even admitted ordering my book from Amazon is probably much easier. I have always loved book stores but the service and supply started dwindling long before COVID hit.

06/7/22 I went here the other day to find trivial pursuit, a young employee with lots of tattoos helped me find what I was looking for. I was in and out quickly. I don't buy lots of things this place has to offer but the store is always clean and the staff helpful. The trivia game was 30 bucks. I got my wife a vegan cook book. The place was clean and the people helpful. I don't buy that many books but when I do it's at this place. Glad it is still open.

A newly remodeled B & N on VA Beach Blvd. Much nicer layout inside, with a very bright and fresh looking cafe which has become a good spot for "relaxed" work. A very inviting atmosphere!

The older cashier lady was extremely nice. I apologize for not getting her name. The bookstore is very lacking in depth of choices. If you want to read what is popular in your region, you will find it here. It's the same books we have all read and will teach our kids to read. If you want to break through and find a different perspective that is less mainstream, go online. It won't be on this store's shelves. There is a huge section on leadership, books by politicians, and advice from pundits abound!

I’m re-reviewing! I’ve been back to this store after their remodel a few times now and had forget about my previously negative review. Lately I’ve really been enjoying coming here and browsing. It’s a smaller store now but feels more intimate and not as chaotic as it was before the remodel. I’ve bought a lot of books here and plan to come back!

This barnes and noble is very nice. They have a wide selection of book. Ranging from kids to adult and everything in between. The staff is very helpful and go above and beyond to help customers find what they are looking for. They helped fill an online order right before closing and got a book I thought was out of stock. Would recommend to anyone to shop at this location

The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you're interested in getting a coffee/cappuccino/etc, the service is fast. I've never waited longer than a couple minutes. Only thing stopping this place from being a 5 for me, is the men's restroom. Every time I use it, it smells the same...urine smell...not sure if it's being properly cleaned, or it needs air fresheners. Overall, the shopping experience is still great!

Love the new layout and design. This location used to be my least favorite due to the congested feel of the place. The architect did their thing on this one. Definitely gives you the quiet feel of a cafe while offering the right amount and selection of great reads. The customer service in both cafe and service desk is wonderful. Both counters make you feel welcome. I particularly enjoyed how Starbucks called me by name while addressing my needs. And the big crystal clear windows gives you direct view of downtown VA Beach. I'll be hanging in this location more often.

The new layout looks great, and the lighting makes the store much more inviting. I don’t like how the departments run into each other. The toys and games are all over the store. The most disappointing for me is the complete lack of children’s section. Where are all the books??

Bright and shiney but I miss the old Barnes and Nobles. I have a hard time finding things in the new one. Need to put a few more chairs around. Would like to see more copies of books already out in print. Some prolific writers have only 1 or 2 different books when they have 12 or 15 out.

I love Barnes and Noble! I can stay in there for hours! Very courteous and hopeful! The atmosphere is so inviting! There used to be more chairs strategically available throughout the store not sure what happened there but I sit in the floor most of the time if I have to that's how comfortable and safe I feel. There is always someone close by to assist you and they truly go the extra mile to help you find whatever you are looking for! I highly recommend visiting the store! I have been to other stores in other states and various places in my area and I will say they are so similar in the way they due business great atmosphere and customer service!

Great place, it seems as it has prepared for Christmas shoppers. Lots of great ideas for presents. My children were looking for a board game and found what they wanted. Every time I stop here it is clean and hospitable and has a Starbucks in house.Has plenty of parking spaces and is handicap accessible.

I took my two children in to find a book that we could read together and was surprised to find out they were having someone read a book to the kids in the store in a few minutes. So we settled in to the kids area and waited for the show to start. The reader was amazing with the kids and he started out but playing the guitar and singing songs. While reading the story he kept everyone engaged and kept the story interesting. After the reading there was a coloring exercise for the kids. For what started out as a simple trip to the bookstore ended up being a great adventure for my children. As always the staff were very helpful and kind.

Barnes and Nobel is a wonderful bookstore. They have a wonderful selection of magazine as well. I particularly enjoy their toy section. They have creative, we'll made toys for all ages. Lots of presents for birthdays have been purchased there. It is a stress free shopping experience.

I visit this barnes and nobles frequently i love the cleanliness of this store so much! Especially during covid however I have visited 40 mins before closing and was met with such a weird, resentful vibe by the staff. Now I do understand that it's right before closing and people show up so thats annoying when your ready to go home. But you consciously chose to work at a job that has a required time to close. So if anyone comes in whether 4 mins before close or 40 mins your still OPEN. Its rude and its uncomfortable to be in. I was approached numerous times asking "can i can help you with something" while trying to read the summary to see if i wanted to buy the book. Please understand im not trying to sound entitled but I have a joy for books. And I work so its hard to get there in time to get a book. So hopefully someone sees this and can atleast in future visits be a bit more understanding. Still a great location though!

I ordered a book online to be held at the front so I could easily pick it up and they were fantastic about it. The shopping season is kicking into gear but they realized I was waiting with nothing in my hands and a fellow called me up out of the line right away. They rang me up and whoosh, right out the door. That's a really cool service, to order it online and they hold it for you. Brilliant and quick, it usually takes me at least thirty minutes to find a book and pay. This was maybe all of five minutes. A really cool option for shopping.

They often don’t have the books I go in for. But the real reason for the 3 stars is that the parking stinks! There is not enough parking there and it’s going to get worse with Shake Shack opening. I absolutely love Shake Shack and am so excited about it but it should have never gotten permits for right there. What was the city thinking? Barnes and Noble should move!

I really like this B&N. Feels really spacious compared to most. I found what I wanted pretty easily, and the staff was helpful. I just went to get a lap desk for bullet journaling, and they didn't mind me sitting on the floor testing them all.

Really Nice New Look!!! Both bathrooms are unisex. Small arts and craft group was there this morning making ballon animals and face painting for kids. I love the upgrades and the new look, much more open and modern. 3 stars vice 5 stars because there was no Funko POP! Figures in this particular store, why??? Barnes and Noble typically have the best priced figures and their exclusives are usually pretty awesome!!! Please get the Barnes And Noble exclusive Funko POP! Figures in this store ASAP!!!.
