Reviews of Peter Miller Architecture And Design Books
Yü Wu
Great specialty bookstore. It's half a block indented from 1st Ave so you may not even notice it when you pass by.
Lots of interesting titles, both contemporary and classic, in architecture and design. A fun treasure hunt to go through some shelves here. It also has a lovely stationery section too, with a focus on notebooks. Service is friendly compared to some other art book places.
Sue Frause
A delightful shop, both inviting and well curated. An indy bookstore owned and operated by longtime bookseller (and author) Peter Miller. Reason enough to spend time in this Pioneer Square store.
Nate Stevens
A bookstore with personality! It's got classical music, a hand-selected array of architecture books, fancy decorative items, and stationery.
Shane Landry
An awe inspiring curated collection of art, design and architecture books, paper, drawing tools and unique extras for home and office.
Mengxiao Song
This is my absolutely favorite store in Seattle area! The atmosphere, the selection of books and designer product, oh I enjoy it so much each time I visit the place. If you love art or would like to enjoy some classical music while browsing inspiring books and products, this is your MUST-VISIT.
Do remember to respect the "no phone" policy :) It never bothers me.

I live nearby and never noticed this bookstore. Yesterday I saw the sign out on first street and decided to pop in. I am so glad I did! This store is an architect, engineer and building scientist book heaven. You’ve got drawing books, pens, pencils but also a curated collection of classic and cutting edge books on urban planning, graphical design, landscaping and using natural materials. Stop in and treat yourself or a loved one. Great bookstore. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking too!

Good specialized design store. Seems a bit architecture focused, would love to see more usability design books! (but that's the bias of a UX designer here) Storekeeper was very nice and was engaged in an intense conversation with another customer. I didn't mind though, it was kinda pleasant to just listen (pandemic makes talking very hard...). A great time to just experience the store as it is and support a local business; don't come here to bargain hunt with your phone -- if you want to do that just shop online lol. Will come again, thanks!

Secluded at the heart of the city is this trove of books & tools on architecture, art, and aesthetics.

This place is an absolute delight to visit. The owner is super helpful and is super knowledgeable about everything. It was so nostalgic to see all the beautiful stationary.
Charles Boyte
Excellent book store. Lots of interesting works about architecture and the world we live in. I purchased a signed copy. I will be back again. A treasure. Thank you.

Staff was very helpful!

A great old space filled with books and supplies for designers and architects. It's a little off the path, so you have to look for the store. Lots of interesting things to explore. Mr Miller is friendly and personable. Very glad I stopped by.

I recently ordered some things from Peter Miller Books on-line-(the way we roll in 2020, unfortunately.) I can't adequately convey how pleased I am with the level of care, attention to detail, personalization, expediency, and value my orders have received. Please shop here and at your other favorite small businesses this holiday season!!!

Peter is one of a kind and so is his store. Every time I go in I find 20 books and 5 other random things im forced to decide between. His collection is so smartly curated. Plus he remembers everyone. Guaranteed that if you go in there once, he'll remember you. It's obvious that he truly loves people and conversation and he's brilliant to talk to. You can't miss this if you're in Seattle.

I buy art from art curators because they make sure I don't end up with something I won't love. Peter Miller is now my official book curator. Everything in his store he would want to own and have in his own place of business or home (depending on what your occupation). The books I purchased from him we're pricey but worth every GD dime. Heis now my official go-to for solid books that will remain on my shelves for days vs months/years (meaning I'll use them more often). Trust this seller, he cares and he's supurb at what he offers and shares with his customers.

Oh my APA AIA gods! I thought PM disappeared into the fog of Bell Town redevelopment memories...stumbled upon his new location on Google while searching for another needle in the urban haystack. Will have to schedule a visit...now that its closer to King St Station...but now so far from Le Pichet.

Hidden gem of the architecture world. This bookstore has everything you need. Unique books, special supplies, etc. Slightly hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. Just walk into the midblock parking lot and the door to the right is where you enter.

After years of continuous ritual to Peter Miller- I never have anything to say because it’s such a beautiful place to visit. The events and care for the design community, Peter’s ability to assist and mentor others, as well as feeding my pen obsession. Thank you. For contributing.
Tom Biro
THE place for great notebooks, writing implements, and books for the design-inclined. One of my favorite spots to browse, contemplate massively awesome calendars in three languages, and find a new notebook to use.
Christopher Horton

New location is a bit hard to find as one has to enter through the alley. They seem to always have a book I look for. Would be great if stationary / accessories collection is larger.

(Translation) quiet and calm bookstore
The owner told me that he has been operating for over 40 years.
You seem to have a sense of humor too!
It also sells writing instruments and notebooks. Limited edition Roytum products are also on sale, so I got it.
And I enjoyed the photo exhibition inside.

(Translation) If you want a well-designed pen, or a set of special cards, or a teapot from a famous person, or come to a set of books related to modern architecture that you have never seen before, Peter Miller Books is a good choice. Although this passage is quite ordinary as an advertising slogan, don't question its authenticity because of this. Seattle's most prestigious architectural design bookstore, without a doubt. In addition to the wide range of books, there are also many designer works that have been favored by the owner for sale in the store. The most rare thing is that I disdain to associate with high-ranking and few people, but I am more willing to become close friends with "everyday". All the architectural design books included are not only for professionals, but for those who love life, they can always find one or the other. Appetite, interesting and practical, such as how Monocle can make your home more cozy; or the art of sharpening pencils; niche travel guides; several recipes; daily practical gadgets... Ordinary things can be seen in design.
