Reviews of Book Larder

I love that there's a bookstore just dedicated to baking and cooking! This is such a cute place, I love the layout and the books are beautiful and new. They are organized by category and it's intuitive and easy to find things. They have a wide variety of books including cuisines from various cultures, vegan and vegetarian, baking and desserts, breads, drinks, etc. There are so many great cookbooks here that it's hard to limit yourself! They also have book signings, author events, and cooking classes here. I definitely recommend stopping by!

Spending even a moment of time in this store will make it abundantly clear just how special of a place it is. They not only have a cookbook for anything you might want to create or learn about but also some of the most helpful guidance you could possibly imagine.
And that's precisely why I will continue to recommend them to anyone looking to pick up a new culinary book regardless of where they live. Just today I was in need of help selecting a new book and one phone call provided me with so much helpful information, I may just buy two!
If you're in Seattle, do yourself a favor and visit this shop. And if not, know that they can ship to you and are only a call away from any questions you may have.

I entered this place and was immediately overwhelmed at the choices! So many beautiful and somewhat rare cookbooks. I had lots of good help and while I was there discovered they do cooking classes! So cool. Go check them out for sure. Then go eat at Le Coin. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely love this store, such a gem. Right now they are accepting shopping appointments (though I believe they allow walk-ins depending on how crowded it is). Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the books. Grateful to live so close to this amazing shop.
Anastasia Bekris
The cutest small but mighty cookbook shop! We came recently for an Italian cook book signing and author talk, and have also been for an amazing Thai food dinner hands-on cooking class. Highly recommend!

I don’t live in Seattle so I’ve never been to the bookstore but I was able to pre-order a book published in the UK that was not available for sale anywhere in the US. Excellent job, Book Larder on keeping a unique and excellent selection!

Diverse cook books all in one place! Kind and helpful staff. Good place to look for your next favorite cookbook!

This place is so cool! Great selection of cookbooks and an amazing staff. Highly recommend.

This is amazing… just cookbooks, and really great new cookbooks. They even have a full demonstration kitchen… I wish we caught an event there, it would surely be amazing!

The gold standard for a store with books for cooks ... in Seattle. It was a quick visit as I was picking up a special order. Helpful friendly staff, a demo kitchen, and a handful of local writers non-fiction titles. I didn't see any tools or gadgets - which was refreshing.
Tip: Parking is a challenge, so if you're visiting, make a day of it. All within walking distance, there is great coffee a few blocks away, a handful of eateries, a record store, and a pot shop. A little further up is the zoo and the other way is the Fremont Troll, a drawbridge, and a walking/biking path adjacent to a waterway.
Ashley Lombardo
So many amazing cookbooks! I saw a few were signed by the author as well.
Charlie Irons
A local bookstore focused around food and the kitchen that also offers cooking classes in its demonstration kitchen and has book signing events. Friendly and helpful staff and an expansive collection to choose from; covering desserts, entrees, ethnic cuisine, and even cocktails and spirits. Not to be missed by food lovers and chefs alike..
Tim Leber
A great book store with a very helpful staff. Lots on interesting finds.
Sanjiv Diwan
Great neighborhood shop to pick up exceptional cookbooks

This book store is so awesome! Could stand there reading about recipes all day. And the shopkeeps love sharing the information they have and generally, cheerfully, helping. Thanks, also, to their efforts to maintain a safe space during the pandemic.
Dan Vogel
True danger for cookbook lovers. Carefully curated selection.

I collect cookbooks like people collect coins (or whatever it is cool people collect these days). Like I literally cannot resist buying a good cookbook or book about food when I see one, and I'll read them from cover to cover just for kicks.
The Book Larder is like a gift from above for me. A one stop shop for all your cookbook needs? Count me in!
The store is a bit smaller than I imagined -- there is only one medium-sized room. However, the selection of books is great, and there are even a lot of autographed books on sale as well. Their prices are on the pricier side, but I'm willing to pay a bit more to support this unique shop. One thing I wish they had was a little nook or something where you could sit and chill with a book.
Additionally, they have a membership program, where you get $20 if you spend $200. Another cool thing they do are events were you can meet the chefs/authors of a particular cookbook. I'd recommend signing up for their mailing list if you're interested in this sort of thing!

Great selection of cook books!

Magical and amazing store that has an exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is most certainly where you should be buying your cookbooks from if you can.

The Book Larder is a gem! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. All the books are food related. They have author talks/book signings and classes and events here all the time. Oh, and they’re an independent bookstore! What’s not to love?! Give em a visit and enjoy!
Silvia Ceravolo
Well-stocked with cookbooks and food related books. Attractive store. Helpful employees. If you subscribe to their email list you will get monthly notifications of cooking classes and author events.
Caroline
Great store for cookbooks. You need to make an appointment to shop in store, but you can also shop online and pickup in store. Helpful staff if you have questions.
Sallyann Corn
FAVORITE shop to find new cookbook gems. The "Staff Favorites" section is the best place to find your new cooking obsession. Love every single thing about this neighborhood spot!
Melissa Bennett
The cutest cookbook store in all the lands.
Joseph Kent
This place is such a gem! They always have the best cookbooks, things you didn't even know you needed. The staff is super helpful and the space is always so warm and inviting.

Located in the Freemont neighborhood, Book Larder is a mecca cookbook lovers of all stripes. It's a bit smaller than expected, given its huge and growing reputation, but the place is not only chock full of thoughtfully curated books but also a professional kitchen where classes and events (by local instructors and major culinary names) are held several times each week. Stop by on a Sunday afternoon and you might be lucky enough to have Seattle food writer Kim O'Donnel - recent recipient of a prestigious MFK Fisher Distinguished Writing Award from the James Beard Foundation - help pick books that appeal to your particular tastes. If you spend more than $100 they'll pack your haul in an orange, heavy canvas logo bag sure to make your foodie friends green with envy.

The best cookbook store in Seattle. Cozy interior, amazing selection, and an incredible staff who will help you find the perfect book for you.

One of just a hand full of cookbook-specific book shops in the country. Booklarder doesn’t just provide a great selection of books. Booklarder makes a point to create a community surrounding the kitchen. The shop host a variety of events, including author talks, bake offs, and classes. Make sure to give this Fremont gem a visit if you’re in the mood to up your kitchen game.

Stumbled into this place randomly the other day! A treasure trove of any cookbook you can imagine for any ingredient! We happened to arrive in the middle of their monthly "Fika" break (3-4pm on last Friday's, I believe) where we were served a free delicious homemade brownie and free hot chai tea. Fika is a swedish snack/tea break apparently, and I may just have to incorporate Fika into my non-swedish life now!

Very good service and advice on which book would be a good wedding gift. Great selection! I got to sit down at the counter and look through them. Very relaxed and accommodating.
