What an incredible place! Huge selection, great prices, charming atmosphere, and friendly staff! I also love that Marissa's supports local authors. I'm a poet and the big chain stores won't take a chance on small presses or non-famous authors. Until now, my book was only sold online. I finally found a physical home for my book at Marissa's and I am so grateful!

Like any great book worth reading, don't judge this book shop by its cover. Walking through the front door felt like walking into a book lover's paradise. There is an atmosphere that you immediately know this book shop is run by people who truly love books. If you love the written word, give yourself plenty of time. You'll want to wander and peruse. This is not a quick in and out. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy.

Prices for books here are crazy low, the place is that maze of books and cool stuff that you always read about and rarely find. There is a mix of used and new books, with a very respectable amount of antique and collectable books. Plan some time to wander if you are into that, or just go straight to the well labeled section you need. Staff are also quite helpful and kind, and there is a handy easy bathroom with a lock (some of us need that kind of info). Comfy couches and chairs, pocket knives, art prints, really cool statues, etc, make a lovely place in all. All 7 members of my family found an excellent book, from robotics to fancy mazes to art and science fiction, and we paid $45. Very happy.

I've been meaning to check this place out for a while and it did NOT disappoint! What a fun, cozy place to get lost in a sea of books! I'd hang out there all day if I could. There are seats everywhere for you to sit and read, and everything is so organized. They have every genre you can think of, and such a good selection. I walked out with an arm full of books today. The staff were so friendly, too. I can't say enough good things, this is hands-down my new favorite bookstore!

As a published author, I appreciate the time and effort independent bookstore owners, and especially Marissa's Books, put into guaranteeing that many others continue to have the opportunity to hold a book in their hands and read black print on white pages. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The shop has so much character, from the unique bookends, to fabulously mismatched furniture and light fixtures. Each space is cozy and fanciful. This shop sparks the imagination.

We visited the bookstore last weekend and it was a delightful experience for the family. We arrived about 10 minutes before the posted opening time but they welcomed us inside anyways. The kids section is well organized and perfectly age appropriate. We found ocean animals magnets and a sticker book, for a great bargain. We are looking forward to browsing again soon.

This is an amazing place, I spent a fraction of the time that I really wanted to spend in here. Gonna go back and explore more. I kept thinking I had seen everything and kept finding new little places with tons of great books. Also really comfy seating and tons of natural light, makes for a really sweet and unique space.

Love love love this bookstore. It is much more bigger inside than I thought. I came in for certain finds and found most of the books that I needed. Very great pricing and most of the books are brand new or in very good condition. The costumer service is amazing, they made sure to make me feel comfortable, it was pouring outside and one of the workers told me to make myself comfortable, sit down and read a book, until the rain stops. I love the environment and atmosphere, will definitely come back again and again. Thank you!!!

An interesting place considering book stores. Looking at it you would never even guess that it is one. But it is an amazing book store. Thousands of old and new books at a great price. I could spend an entire year in there and still not read everything. The atmosphere is interesting to say the least. And there's plenty of space and places to just sit and read. The staff is nothing but friendly and quite lovely. They have books for everyone. And in every category. I know where I will be doing all of my book shopping from now on. 10/10 love this place.

I love this book store. I love finding old, used and interesting books. It's a big store that feels almost maze like but I enjoy exploring about it. The discounts are typically good and for certain things that have a lot to choose from. I also like that not only do you get a discount, you earn points too for a further discount. Great place!

What a really cool book store!! If you don't like books, there are so many other features to enjoy. They have done an excellent transformation from a dirty old garage. They offer books categorized a bit smarter for the dopey peeps, such as I am. Ask for it and BOOM!! There it is AND a fraction of the cost. Also a great place to take your old books. Try it and you will be back.

This is one of my favorite used books stores. It is huge. Tip: if you aren’t sure what section to look for a specific book check goodreads, I’m pretty sure they use the good read categories to organize their books. But that being said it’s just really fun to wander and find gems you didn’t know you needed.

Great little used(And new) book store we discovered on accident. It's in an old mechanic's shop, which is interesting. Great selection, great prices, and friendly and helpful staff. We'll definitely be going back. They also had a good display of witch and ghost stories for Halloween, all levels, from the typical simple ghost stories to nonfiction books on Wicca and witches. .

I asked if I could move in, and they said I wasn’t the first to ask that day. So it’s that kind of bookstore. The prices were so fair, loved how new and used were intermingled. So many lovely reading nooks, and the most helpful and friendly staff! It’s now where I go when I need a “getaway” for an hour. Do yourself a favor and go the first chance you get!

What a unique experience shopping here for books! Huge selection, they are used books but high quality (both in terms of book condition and the selection offered), and the atmosphere is so appealing. This place is SO cute. It’s an older building that used to be a car repair place that has been totally transformed into a beautiful book store. When you walk in, you’ll be blown away by the amount of books they have. they’re hidden in every nook, cranny and corner. My only complaint is that there are many very cute trinkets around the place, and some of them are priced, some of them are not so it’s hard to tell what is a decoration and what is for sale. Otherwise, book prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly. definitely recommend !

A wonderfully aesthetic little shop that takes me back to the magic of reading. There's strange little alcoves around every corner, tons of unique decorations and displays, and (obviously!) an eclectic selection of books! This is the kind of place you can literally just lose yourself in and spend hours browsing or reading. It's like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of modern life. I'll be visiting a lot in the future.

Great prices, friendly & helpful staff as well as Dr Suess books. True counterculture rebels... my kind of bookstore. If you are into them, they have some great pricing on comics and also a nice section on rare & historical books. They have a bit of everything, so I highly recommend you support a local business working hard to provide us all with great service rather than spend your money with Barnes & Noble or Amazon.

I went to Marissa's books, when they were in Murray a few years ago, great store then, then just recently dropped by their new location and is just stellar, superbly better than their old location. They're on a nice busy intersection, so they've got lots of drive by advertisement for themselves really doing well up there. I found some awesome books, priced between 3$ up to about 8$, the condition is really good and the staff was very helpful despite being very busy, highly recommend you drop in there and check them out see what they have and who knows you might just find what you're looking for or something you didn't know you were looking for.

Wow! A big used books shop. I was surprised to find out how big it was, because it doesn't look as big on the outside. Prices were fair, maybe almost a little more expensive than I would have anticipated. But they have a large collection of older books. Could you find it cheaper online with eBay? Absolutely! But if you want the experience of a book store with a knowledgeable staff, and to support local business, this is your place.

I was so happy to stumble on Marissa's Books and Gifts. I had been wanting to read Angela's Ashes, but desperately didn't want to put any MORE money into Amazon, Walmart or Target's pockets. Marissa's Books not only offered the book I wanted for a lower price, but the attention to detail in the packaging is what set's them apart. They cared about my purchase arriving safely and undamaged. Additionally, they packaged it in a lovely, bright bubble envelope. One of those pieces of mail that as it travels you think, "What are you? Where are you going?" :) I loved it! I love books and love supporting small(er) businesses. I waited a few days longer than I would have if I had bought this book from a big chain, but it's worth the wait if it means truly stimulating the economy. Buy from the little people, specifically Marissa's Books and Gifts, they know how to deliver!

If you are a fan of books, if you have children you'd like to become fans of books, then you will want to visit Marissa's. A bookstore that reminded me of the old Cosmic Aeroplane back when the Cosmic was a thing in Salt Lake. Marissa's has an excellent selection of books and the ambiance is extraordinary. The staff is helpful just don't ask to be able to purchase the antiques. The antiques are not for sale. Pity that. Visit Marissa's and you'll be pleasantly surprise.

This is a perfect bookshop! Big with lots of spread-out space from browsing customers in this Virus-plagued environment. I order a book for grandma over Christmas but accidently hadn't shipped to the wrong address. When I reached out to this store they quickly corrected the problem by sending another copy toy grandmother right away. Not to mention the book was already the cheapest I could find online. We just went today and what a wonderful experience. We were greeted as well as everyone else who came. When she wasn’t checking out someone she walked up to everyone. She explained the store, genuinely was with you and made you feel special. This is the way small town clerks used to be. She was so nice and complimentary.
