This is a very fun spot! They have tons of games for purchase, and knowledgeable staff who are good resources. There is a used game section, with discounted prices, and they also have an area to play games in-store for free, or borrow and take home as part of their $5/month membership. They had some hardship during covid, with a contractor who took their money without doing the expansion work, so currently the lending library is somewhat limited. They’re running a GoFundMe to cover the expansion costs.

A nice trading card game shop staffed with great people who are knowledgeable on a wide variety of games and hobbies. Edit 9/14/2022 Something my initial review failed to mention was how truly kind the staff members of the store are to those in their community facing hard times. This is an epic little joint. They've been around a long time. They have a good stock of games and magazines and books. More games. While I was in the store there was a good mix of people. There was a family of four. There were some teenagers who were all friendly enough. My daughter and I were of course there. We went looking for dungeons& dragons stuff. We had no issue finding these things. We got a dungeons& dragons starter kit. She also wanted some pokémon cards. We lucked out and found some other cool trinkets and toys that she thought would be fun to have. All in all, we left with a good bunch of stuff and smiles on our face. I really can't think of any games that we wanted that we didn't see. As I was leaving we talked to a little boy and his dad. The little boy said he goes there every Sunday. I thought that's kind of cool.

They have a really cool selection of board games, sealed TCG product, anime figurines, gunpla, and various gasha blind bags. They have lots of accessories for each hobby mentioned and the staff is usually very friendly. It's a bit quirkier than your standard LGS, but they likely have what you need.

The best collection of models, figures, board games, trading cards, stickers, Keychains, Japanese snacks, and general geek goods I have ever seen in the state. The staff and customers were very friendly, and I enjoyed spending time there. Highly recommend if you are a fan of Japanese products that you cannot easily find online or in the state. I can gurantee they have atleast something that will catch your eye! 😁

Being from Williamsburg Virginia we don’t have very many Pokémon card shops ( the ones we do have not very good) this place Weekend Anime absolutely PHENOMENAL staff very helpful and very knowledgeable. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Big game store! I play Magic The Gathering and went here for a Pre-Release. Super fun and the people were all very kind. I'm from Texas and everyone was welcoming and nice to me. Went alone and left with invitations to other events from players! Store was clean and has a bathroom. Not much parking, but there are a few spots in the back.

I go to this store all the time, the staff is amazing and the item selection is great. I find myself recommending this store to my friends all the time. If you’re looking for Pokémon cards or anime merch, all for a good price, I can’t recommend this store enough. Keep up the good work!!

I recently made a purchase of an item that is out of print and very difficult to find in the U.S. The price was unbelievably low compared to other retailers. It arrived in perfect condition in less than 2 days. I'm glad I was able to buy locally and I am very happy with my purchase.

Just moved to Westbrook mid pandemic. I can't wait until the vaccine starts to hit and we can go back to doing things! The few times I've been in there have been really great! Wonderful staff, large quantity of games, really neat snack area .. All in all a great asset to my new community! I'm looking forward to being a part of it!!

Love the shop and the community that goes here. The changes from the pandemic have been good (everything online, curb side ordering, the discord!) and mixed (miss seeing all the players...!!). But it's nice to know there's still a place to go nearby to connect with. :)

Great location if you're looking for any kind of board games, from casual to hardcore, lots of selections of trading cards, good spot for Magic: The Gathering. Staff is friendly, has a good sense of humor. If you or someone you know is a total board game nerd, they will feel right at home here.

Overall an awesome store and I totally recommend to anyone interested in board games, card games and especially Magic the Gathering™! I just don't recommend going on Sunday, as the noise levels are high and it's quite hard to enjoy anything on that day =p (or you can just wait for Pokemon to end (at about 4:00 P.M))

As someone who puts a lot of money into hobbies such as card games, I have tried a lot of options as hobby shops go, and weekend anime has proven to be the best possible choice. I would rather support them than buy elsewhere. The atmosphere and friendly staff make everyone feel included and valued in the space. The selection of imported novelties, board games, and hobbies make weekend anime and games a haven for anyone who embraces nerd culture. I used weekend anime and games for majority of my holiday presents through the WA care packages available on the online store. Not only was it a convenient way to order, but the 10 flat rate for shipping was very affordable, and the care packages exceeded expectations, everyone had fun seeing what they got in the grab bags. Thank you for being the best choice around for hobby shops.

I just stopped in for my first time and really enjoyed my short visit there. There was a lot to choose from and the gent on duty was very outgoing and helpful. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town again.

Literally the best hobby store I've ever been to. Need trading cards for MtG/Yugioh/Vanguard/more? BOOM you got it. Need em in sealed or blind bags? BOOM you got it. Need a new board game? BOOM you got it. Need TTRPG supplies? BOOM you got it. Need the most affordable Gundam supplies in the US? BOOM you got it. Need to be able to get an exact item from a gacha machine so you don't waste money? BOOM you got it. I just can't think of any hobby store so well stocked in every area and all at prices that are super good. I hate that I'm only able to visit once a year here because I absolutely love it. Edit: I do wish there were a little more manga and anime DVD/blu-rays on sale but this is a huge nitpick. An awesome store, again.

Very helpful staff and amazing store. Wide selection of MTG singles and packs including some Japanese packs. Tons of cute key chains for the anime lovers and they even make their own designs of keychains and jewelry.

Wow! Great customer service still exists! I am in Maryland and found an obscure, hard-to-find book on their site and called last night to see that it actually was in stock. This was literally only one of a couple that I could find in the entire U.S. in stock. Instead of jacking up the price (like the other couple sellers had done), they gave it to me for cover price, very affordable shipping, and actually placed it in the mail to be picked up later that night. Followed it up with multiple emails to me with receipt and tracking while I was on the phone. Very friendly and will put them at top of my list to contact for anything in the future. Would rather support small businesses like this, than trying to save $2 for Amazon-ish entities whom have exported their customer service to increase their margins. Thanks!!!

We walked in and we're immediately greeted as though we had been friends for years. We were inmediatly asked if we were attending the potluck game night and then chatted about out interests. Sadly we were just passing through and could not attend the potluck. I stopped specifically looking for MTG cards. The shop has a great selection of cards for all formats as well my favorite - boxes of bulk rares to sift through. I half built a new EDH deck as well as found quite a few fun cards that I didn't know I was even looking for. I wish I lived closer because the atmosphere was really wonderful for a game store.

I posted this same review on Yelp. I visited this shop for the first time at the recent Pokemon League Cup, and man was I blown away. When I went to previous shops, the only TCG they actually really cared about was Magic and that was about that, the other selections limited and such. At Weekend Anime, while it seems a tad apparent that Magic is still popular, they don't give the cold shoulder to other TCG's and have an amazing selection of product. They also have all the best sleeves on the market here and even though I only bought some KMC's, I can assume their prices are fair if not really good. The owners were some really awesome people and the people that came to play were really cool too. Can't forget to mention the huge selection of board games, figures and other cool stuff that I didn't get to check out. The experience here has me excited for my future with Pokemon since TCG's never worked for me before and I definitely will be coming back on a regular basis!

Walked in and there were several tables set up with people energetically playing magic. It was obvious that they were a group of regulars and were having a blast. The atmosphere was great and the selection of games and cards was just what I was looking for.

Came wrong day for event and staff turned my opps to win kids got great new cards and boxes free and they made Dad look like a champ. They also were curious and kind. Pos system was so fast we had time to look around. Front of store looked little shady but kids liked the pikachi lawn cut outs. Inside was well laid out. Don't think the kids liked the comment on the door about all stuff geeks would want or what ever. Tried to not remember that one. This store knew much more than the two in NH. Very relaxed feeling in the store. One associate looked like he was wearing pajama bottoms. Over all due to knowledge and over all kindness we will be back for sure for yugioh day. KIDS got started boxes for being new players. (Dad was new player too) so the kid in me was jealous but it was about them any way. Great way to spend a weekend day that was rainy.

Tim and the Team are always helpful (and, if you've ever been to a game store, tremendously patient.) If you need a board game, TCG supplies and cards, used games, Japanese snacks, singles, and various nerd ephemera, don't sleep on Weekend Anime.

I came into the store during a visit with my inlaws in Maine to pick up some dnd stuff. I was very sorry that my visit didn't allow me to spend more time here but I managed to get in two visits, the second just to hang out and talk with people. I found that there was a pretty diverse selection of dnd stuff to purchase, a lot of stores have a lot more limited selection, and there was a wonderful atmosphere at this shop for gaming and fun.

It is a wonderful little store that doesn't have much anime but does have tabletop and card gaming as well an enormous stock of manga shelved along every wall. The decor is a bit austere but there is an unparalleled atmosphere that makes you feel like everyday is like summer camp and all kisses are just like your first. A really great place and a wonderful shopping experience!

Wow. The place looks like a house from the outside, but inside there's more manga, board games, card games, and roleplaying material per square foot than any place I've seen - and I've seen a LOT. I found a card game there that I have never seen anywhere else, and their collection of manga simply blows away every other store I have checked out in New England. Definitely worth a long drive to see.

I like going to weekend anime every Saturday and Sunday if i can. The staff is awesome and very helpful and so are the customer that visit and play there. The prices are also anothet reason i keep going. My only complaint and its small is that i wish more force of will was played on the weekends lol this only cause i work 2nd and i cant play on the weekdays. Other than that i love it and i plan on going back every weekend.

Weekend Anime is amazing for a lot of reasons. These include(But are not limited to), The large demo library, thew people that go there are really nice, The events that are held are fun and are a good experience in themselves, and, while the anime selection itself is lacking, the manga, board games, and card games are everywhere. Of course, its not all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. It gets pretty cramped on there, as well as how loud it gets on occasion. But don't let that stop you. 5/5 stars.
