I have come here a few times but my last visit was extraordinary! I wanted to gift my sister in law a book I had read. I had completely blanked on both the name AND author. I only remembered that it was a memoir that was also sort of a nature book as well, and that the cover had drawings of animals on it. It was also on display at one of their tables a few months prior. I was truly not expecting them to know what I was talking about. The very kind gentleman at the help desk said he wasn’t sure, as lots of books are switched out on display pretty regularly. He seemed to have an inkling about what I was talking about because he said one book came to mind that could possibly be it. He led me through the store AND FOUND THE BOOK. It was World of Wonders by Aimee Nezhukumatathil and if anyone is interested. I was so shocked and thankful! I totally forgot to ask the guy his name, but the staff here is always so nice and helpful. Barnes and Noble, give these people a raise, they know their stuff! Especially the man with the brown curly hair at the help desk. I am truly in awe. Genuinely amazing service.

It's always nice to go inside a Barnes Noble bookstore. So many books, magazines, and educational toys inside. But I wonder how they stay in business. So many people treat the store like a library instead of a retailer.

I had my Book Signing and Meet & Greet at this location. The store manager Tyler, Vicky, and the staff were exceptional and provided outstanding customer service!!! I highly recommend this Barnes and Noble location.

The staff is always so helpful! If they don't have a book in stock for me or the kiddo they order it and let me know as soon as it's in! When I finish a series they always guide me to another that interests me. After I finish my most recent purchased stack of books, I already have the next in mind for once! I read a few pages and for me this series right up my alley!

On a "girls day out", I was trying to find some Christmas gift ideas for my granddaughter. When we came to Barnes & Noble I thought "Hey! This will be good for some book gifts!" I really enjoy Barnes and Noble. This is a nice location. When the weather is nice, the area right in front of the store is awesome to just sit, relax, and read a book in front of the fountain. Only negative - I really wish they would not have books with expletives in their titles out on the tables for everyone to see. There are little kids, and I really don't care to see it either. Just adding a "*" in place of a letter really doesn't do anything - it is still vulgar.

I really like this place. They've got a great selection of books and they're very clean. There's a sign saying that masks are required, but I know Governor Ducey said that we don't need to wear them anymore. I thought I would walk in and see what they'd say. They didn't bother me, which I greatly appreciated. I got to browse through everything and see a wonderful selection of books to buy. This is a million times better than shopping on Amazon. This store is incredible!! At their cafe, they had coffees and pastries and books lined up on shelves near the tables and they also have magazines and games and DVDs, you can't go wrong here! 👊🤘

Thank goodness for bookstores. Great place to wander around, with a great selection of vinyl records too. Value isn’t what it once was, but it’s sometimes worth a few extra bucks to hand-select a book after browsing.

I've never been to another Barnes & nobles before, I love coming to this one. All of the employees are super helpful, I didn't even know what I was looking for exactly. My son wanted a book and all I knew was it was something titled Casey and JoJo adventure, but that wasn't the exact name of the book, And I couldn't ask my son the name of the book again, because I was trying to surprise him for his birthday, the employee whose name I didn't get new exactly what I was talking about and brought me over to the section that I was looking for. Made my whole shopping experience super easy, and I was able to get the book my son had been wanting. Thank you Barnes and nobles

However I probably won't come here a lot just because I live so far away, but if your in the area would recommend.

It could of been better, I felt the kids area was missing that come in and read. Usually you find little nick knacks that are unique near the front and it was s a hit or miss. So much empty space. Otherwise if you want to find a good book they have some good books but I highly doubt they have what your looking for.

Nice open spaces but wish they would bring back the reading chairs they used to have. It was nice to sit down and review books in chairs. I didn't get a chance to review the food court there but will next time. And will take photos.

Wonderful store, but, I failed to take photos along the way! It's tucked right into the shopping area with lots of amenities nearby and all around! Well stocked, nice staff, clean throughout and a Starbuck's within to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy a book, magazine or do a little computer work on your laptop! Inviting!

I don't see many Barnes and Noble anymore. I used to go to a really nice one(Westside Pavilion, Pico & Westwood) in LA in the 90s that closed down. This store is in a nice, upscale mall in Desert Ridge(far north phoenix). The book selection is great and I also enjoyed a hot cup of Starbucks Java at their cafe. The atmosphere is nice with nice outdoor mallcourt seating as well. I subtract one star for no electric to charge my smart phone. Note: I did find some outlets to plug my phone next to the lit up palm trees in the outside mall court. Recommended bookshop and coffee/tea cafe.

What a perfect place to plan to meet! We were both early but browsed and discovered great stuff--some great CDs and some beautiful greeting cards, all at reasonable prices. And Desert Ridge is just lovely to wander, day or night.

A bookstore with great selection, but high prices. I am a fan of reading, fiction, fantasy, western, manga, and comics. I tend to look for books at good prices. I mainly tend to stay with bargain books, or half price book stores because their prices are reasonable. I decided to go out of my comfort zone because I was looking for a book that was new and not likely to be available at my regular stores. I found this Barnes and Noble and decided to venture here for what I was looking for. The ship was clean, had a huge selection of newer books, a Starbucks inside. I thought this was going to be great. I found the area for my books with ease, and found the book I was indeed looking for. When I looked at the price my jaw dropped. I know around how expensive these books can be, around 35 on average. But they wanted a solid 50. Because I needed it I choked down my pride and got the book. I realize new books come with a higher price, and this is why I stay away from these kinds of bookstores. The store was clean and nice, but wow was it expensive. If your looking for a book go to any other bargain or used book store first. If you have to go to one of these, be prepared to spend the money.

A very popular place with the locals. Located at Desert Ridge on the corner of the 101 and Tatum road. They have a coffee and dessert shop inside. Many places to sit while reading a book or magazine. I would suggest wearing long sleeves as they have the air conditioning on full blast.

On a previous trip (October, maybe September 2021), the employee looked up my (educator) membership, confirmed it expired and said I had to renew online. Oh well, no discount. This trip (November 2021) I told the cashier "Oh its expired, I haven't renewed it" and was just rung up. Then my friend has her educator membership looked up via phone number, renewed, and discounts applied, no problem. Wait... the cashier can just look up and renew by phone number?! That would have been nice to know....

Nothing against Barnes & Noble or bookstores in general, but the Starbucks staff could use some courtesy training. Actually, "this is not a Starbucks," as we were told when trying to use the app. It just sells all Starbucks products and capitalizes on that well known branding, so...common mistake? Could be nicer about correcting us on that...also, asked to push 2 tables together (for our group of 4) and were told there is a 1 hour limit. Basically, get your coffee and go....

The book selection is amazing. Also the people who work there like Erin at the Shea Blvd location and Savanah at Desert Ridge are very knowledgeable about their stock, personable and helpful. There are others at the Shea Blvd location who are equally professional. I highly recommend coming to Barnes and Noble if you're looking for a book, a magazine, music or a movie.

I love this location, there is a huge variety in products available and it's so spaced out. Perfect for shopping in current times. The location is great on making sure each customer is protected by offering hand sanitizer throughout the store and requiring mask wearing. Also has a coffee shop inside and outside seating for customers to sit and enjoying their drinks.

We are fairly regular customers at this location. We regularly stop in to browse and often end up making a spontaneous purchase, and most recently I pre-ordered a book for pickup in store and it was ready within an hour. Pick up was easy, smooth, and quick and the employee who helped us was helpful and knowledgeable. We love this location and will continue to come back!

Always great service with plenty of freedom to browse. Great Section of clearance items, religious books, and free board games to play while you are there. NICE Starbucks that carries CHEESECAKE FACTORY items. Lots of cute gift glasses, mugs, etc. Huge selection of magazines. Big kids section too.

I like to walk around and browse. There were plenty of people on hand to help us find things in the store. I always like to check out the bargin area sometimes I find a book that you would never think to look for. They always have some cool history books in that area. This store has a large section of movies and music something I haven't seen in many other Barnes and Noble stores. If you are a frequent shopper here then the membership makes good sense.

She looked them up online and even called other stores! She also helped me to find info on food allergies which I was looking for my son. Thank you nice lady in glasses! God I wish I could give this bookstore a higher rating but I can't. The prices are super high compared to online or other boon stores. The selection and quality of merchandise I believe has gone down as well as the friendliness of the associates slowly over the past few years. If you are in a last minute pinch for a school book or gift for a friend then come here, other than that the price is way to steep for some of the books here.

Maybe I just love bookstores, but in an era of e-readers and tablets, I really do enjoy buying physical books. I was surprised to find that this location has a pretty big section for CDs as well. There's a vast kids selection and the Starbucks inside is quiet. It doesn't have the big overstuffed leather chairs that you often find in standalone Starbucks locations, but they didn't seem to mind that I sat there for an hour reading a book without buying a drink. I didn't interact with the staff at the B&N much, but I know how to find books and the store was in very well kept condition. Things were organized and in the right spot.

Customer service was wonderful and the sales that go on are great. This location has everything from books, audio, movies, magazines and other items too. The membership for a year is cheap and has amazing discounts; would definitely recommend membership if you shop here quiet often.

Average, honestly, you can get books for way cheaper online or other bookstores. I found a book for $11 at Walmart and the same book was marked up to $20 at Barnes and noble. That’s a big difference now, isn’t it? If they don’t fix this greed, they’ll probably find themselves shut down.

The myth, the legend. The bookstore that started many anime/manga readers in the early 2000's and still hoing strong despite. Not many of them anymore. And a bigger one to boot. Definitely worth checking out for board games, movies, albums and vinyls, etc.

Barnes and nobles is great, as always. My friend went to get a coffee at their Starbucks but turns out it's not an actual Starbucks. We found out because my friend was trying to get her free birthday drink from the Starbucks app and they wouldn't honor it. So I guess it's not a real Starbucks, despite all the signs outside. Which wouldn't have matter, we understand, but the girl behind the counter was kind of rude about it.

You know the deal. Large chain bookstore carrying most mainstream titles. If they don't have it, they can order it. Sizeable periodical/magazine section and an onsite Starbucks. Also, this location is at Desert Ridge so after you buy a book and grab a coffee, there are plenty of great places to post up outside, read, and people watch. I've encountered a couple employees at the syore that actually seem to enjoy reading, too. That's a plus.

A quiet space to find what you want and there are plenty of selections to choose from. However the cashier's are insanely slow and spend most of their time talking to people which leads to a long line of customers to check out while there's only one cashier. If they could have multiple cashier's to just have them talk less, this place would be very favorable.

I love the in-person experience of buying books. You can browse and read pages before you buy. They have a great little area for kids to play and you can get an iced coffee and read your new books.

I realize its 3 days before christmas and things are crazy but the store looks like a tornado hit. I was in specifically for a puzzle and a game- that section was a disaster. Boxes strewn around, product on the floor, I had to really look for items that were not damaged and able to be given as presents. The bathrooms have not improved in years- there isn't any comfortable seating, unless you want the metal chairs in the cafe. Experiences like this remind me of why I just use amazon.

I forgot the joy of thumbing through books in person and the instant gratification of taking a book home. I've started taking my kids more now that they are avid readers. Sure I wish it were an independent bookstore but it's the best option we have in North Scottsdale/Phoenix. If you homeschool be sure to ask about the educator's discount and the kids club.

There isn't a single comfortable chair in the entire store. And the music is too loud, the whole store is centered around reading, what gives? And no wifi?!? The Starbucks inside isn't a Starbucks, btw, they just have the coffee...but if it were, it'd be one of the better ones. Nice lady, great coffee, and cheesecake! :) But seriously, give people a place to sit.

Easy to walk around the aisles, good section for children's toys and books. If you are thinkung of coffee? Why Starbucks is in the house? Highly recommends this place.

Best Book Store! They have GREAT Gift Ideas and tons of things that you wouldn't think a book store would have! Little exspensive on most items.. I think the specialty pens are way over priced! Great stocking stuffers for all ages and yes I found stuff for teenaged boys! I always think a nice leather bound journal ia the way to go! For anyone!

The cafe' is convenient if you're like me have child(ren) there's a nice kid reading space your child (ren) play w/ other kids. Outside of the bookstore there's a little playground area so you can toggle back and forth as I sometimes do.

I drive out here all the way from Sedona sometimes since this B&N actually has a decent selection of books! The one in Flagstaff is terrible, so I come here every few weeks to shop and have lunch before heading back to red rock territory. The youth section is awesome! I regularly peruse the psychology, business, and classics sections and they rarely fail to satisfy. This is where I purchased my first copy of Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier and I have very fond memories of it! The customer service desk is always helpful. If they have a specific title I want, they are always nice enough to walk me to it so I don't have to search blindly on my own. Great bakery/snack area with a lot of options. Most of the staff seems extremely well-read which is a huge bonus (I feel like I am getting help from people who know what they are talking about). The area it is in is wonderful too! Lots of food choices and shopping nearby. Hit up B&N, get your makeup at Ulta, get essentials at Target, play some air hockey at Dave & Buster's, and round it up with a nice lunch at any of the restaurants in the center! This is one of my favorite locations to visit!

Well organized store! Lots of board games and a selection of accessories (dices and miniatures). The toilet tissue in the middle stall of the women's restroom was set into the holder wrong and it was impossible to get any from the available roll. I had to hold open the slide mechanism that allows you to access the larger roll so I could get tissue. I ended up jamming a quarter into the mechanism (not damaging it) so the next to sit could access tissue.

Clean store with social distancing policies in place. Sitting areas are closed but you can buy the books and sit outside in the shady and misted area. If your looking for deals, they have sale items dispersed throughout the store.

I am not a big fan of book stores, but this one is a big location and, well... One of a few book stores left. It's a good place to kill time when waiting for dinner, a movie, etc. Book stores won't be around for long, so enjoy them while they last!
