I've been coming to this store for years and I always absolutely love it!! It's a used book store but they also have new, still for cheap! They're always organized and clean, not too quiet like a library but not loud either. The employees are ALWAYS nice and stop to help. They know where everything is and can even give you recommendations. Here is what I've bought recently if you'd like an idea of price and quality, but this is a very small sample of what they have to offer. I spend hours in this store. Barnes and Noble who?

This Half Price Books has a great selection of new and used books to look through. They also have a decent selection of Board games and video games. Everything is reasonably priced which makes me want to shop in store rather than an online store like Amazon. Customer service is good and they can always help you find what you are looking for.

I didn't know they have videos here! Doh! Yeah it's my new favorite place for movie hunting! I've been collecting a bunch of old classics that I like and haven't seen in years! They had the first two movies I was looking for so I'm happy about that.

Staff is always friendly and helpful!!! Ordered a book, took longer than the quoted time they told me, but that's okay, that stuff happens. Arrived to pick up and asked about 2 more books and cashier was super helpful with finding the books I was looking for and then used teamwork to have another associate show me where one of the books was. Found it and prices were super reasonable!!! Love this place!!! :)

The people this time were great! I bought a ton! A manager on my last trip before this, not so much. She needs to learn to at least deal with autistic people. Yes I'm aware I come off strange. No Im not going to steal your books 🙄 she followed me through that store like it was going out of style. At first I thought I was paranoid but she just kept on. Made me feel extremely unwelcome. I'm glad there are others who can see past my fidgeting and stimming and point me in the right direction.

This Half Price Books is one of my favorite places. The books are affordable and usually only very lightly used, if not new. The staff is really helpful and will order any book that another location has in stock. This week I needed to order a book for a summer class I'm taking and it was shipped and ready for pick up the next day. Very helpful staff, great selection.

Employees were all super nice. I went in to sell some books for the first time and the guy at the counter gave me all the details quickly and efficiently. I was able to shop around and see some new selections while they checked the prices for the books I brought which was wonderful. They were quick when checking my books and I was in and out in just about 10 minutes.

Good selection, though mostly focused on big names. The clearance section was good, with a lot of titles I liked for $3-5. Not very crowded. They also buy your books. I plan on going again. 6 books (including hardbacks!) for $26 is pretty great.

Lots of books, LPs, movies, board games and video games from which to choose. Bring in and sell your old items. I purchased a used game and it was missing a main component rendering the game unplayable. I returned it and the manager was very friendly. He asked if there were any components that would be useful to me and he sold the game to me at an extreme discount. It was not playable, but I'm wasn't expecting that. It only had a couple of cards I could use, so I bought it. The manager was very cooperative and helpful. This was the first used game I've purchased with missing pieces. I appreciate the cooperation and will continue to buy games from here in the future.

I love checking out the Clearance section. I've bought 9 books in the last three weeks (ave. price:$3/book) that would have cost over $180.00! Oh... also, I have been able to find past copies of Southern Living that I've missed. Rick Braggs' columns are great for any bathroom!

Definitely a dream changer for an affordable price!! I went there with the intention of buying a few books and left with a new collection. The customer service wasn't bad and I was happier when I left! If you are looking to increase your knowledge and save some money...this is a great option.

Since Barnes and Noble has taken over the world, it's nice to have a small locally owned bookstore to hangout and browse. I took my elderly mother and 20 something daughter there and we all found things we wanted and also got ideas for holiday gifts. Great deals on used books.

Went in to check out their vinyl. Unfortunately for us long time vinyl buyers their prices on used vinyl have gotten ridiculously high. I did find the cool vw can puzzle though.

Always worth a look. Sometimes you find nothing, sometimes a treasure. Used books, collectables, music, games and comics. I've never sold to them, but I see people do it often. I enjoy the savings from finding things that are often priced within my budget.

I went to half price with the sole purpose of selling books I no longer wanted to have around. My books ranged from very new never been read to old trash and I had a whole box of them. Half price only gave me $2 for the entire box. I know the 5 new books were worth $2 each! Crazy how little you get for good stuff. I won't sell there again. That being said they have a great selection of cheap books in pretty much any category you can think of as well as movies and music.

I was initially a little confused by the arrangement of books but luckily I found a helpful worker. We were there to purchase bibles for our church and I feel like the organization could be better but it was overall a decent experience. The books are almost always marked down so that's nice, but ibwould have to say the staff was majority less than pleasant.

Huge selection of books, games, movies and more for half the price! I always find little cool trinkets or hidden treasures at this place. They also buy your books, however, the payout is always very slim. Almost not worth hauling all.of your books up there for the amount they sell them for.

This is a great place for getting rid of normal books. Not college books you spend over $300 on. I brought in a few medical book, 3 of them were way old and donated. The other I just finished using, and had 2 more college semesters on this book. $12 they gave, and told me it didn't have a semester left on it. After I left I checked because it made No since, they were wrong it had 2 semesters left. Anyway hope they get more from the new buyer then what they gave to me.

I love Half Price Books. You never know what you're going to find. I like cruising the cookbooks as well as history and biographies. Just look around and see what pops out. The books are usually as good as new or in good condition. If you are looking for a particular book, the staff will help you try to find it, even calling other stores. The best part is bringing back books and getting credits for more. I've never gotten much, but it cleans out the house so I can read more books!

Smaller sized store but packed full of books. So it can get a little crowded during busy hours. The clearance section near the restroom has lots of great deals under $3. However, this store location no longer keeps the clearance books organized by subject. So you have to search for the kind of books you prefer. You can sell books here, but this store is pretty packed with books on the shelves. So what they will offer you for your books is lower then what you could get at the location off of i240.

The staff at the 63rd street and May Avenue is wonderful! They are to me more helpful in finding a book in there store than the Barnes and Noble right down the street. The staff will go as far as checking all of there other stores for the book or books you are looking for.

This is a great place to get a good book. They are reasonably priced and have a great selection of materials. The only complaint I have is that they don't have a lot of area for you to sit down if you wanted to browse a book before you buy it, but other than that I think this is a great place to stop if your looking for a book.

Coffee is allowed and seating is available. Not just books, there are records, a kids section, comic books, art supplies, magazines, video games and consoles.

Simply the best bookstores. We fell in love with Half Price Books in Dallas and have sorely missed them in other cities where we have lived. Currently we live in Fort Smith, AR and there is nothing there that comes close. We drove to OKC for the main purpose of visiting Half Price Books and were not disappointed. This store has a great selection, is clean and spacious, and well organized. While there several staff members were very helpful. We will be back as this place is well worth the 3.5 hour drive to get there.

A good place to find reasonably priced books, DVDs, CDs, and even some boardgames. There is a small video game section, but I wouldn't go just for that. If you get on their email list, they send coupons every now and then that make their prices even better.

I brought in about 10 books, including a textbook and a brand new popular novel. It took them an hour to go through them and they offered me $3. Staff was friendly. I ended up buying three books. But I spent about 30 minutes sitting and waiting for them to finish. If I had known they offered so little, I probably would've donated them. $6/hr is less then minimum wage, thus it wasn't really worth my time.

Too inconsistent on payouts for books. You can't leave your items and come back, you have to wait in store. Sometimes this is fast, other times... it is not! In terms of buying, they are less expensive than most local stores- but you can find better deals on used books online.

One of my favorite places to visit! Very helpful staff ..lge selection. Conveniently located....hate say this but before you buy check online with thriftbooks. Many of the books this store buys back are sent to thriftbooks and then resold an average of $4 and up. How do I know this? I buy from Thrift Books regularly.... Some of the books had a half price tag on them. And 1/2 Price is a wonderful go to.

My family likes to collect old hard back books and this a great place to go if you have a book in mind that you want. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable. It is okay for casual browsing, but can get overwhelming. I recommend if you have a specific book you are looking for come here first.

I could literally live in this store. Lol. They have a great selection of books and if you are looking for something specific, the employees are always more than happy to help you hunt it down. Don't expect to earn a lot on book trade ins unless they are brand new releases, but do expect to leave with a nice assortment of books to read at a very reasonable price. Best used book store in the metro, hands down. Often surpasses Ebay and used sellers on Amazon as well.

I like this store a lot, they have a great variety. Prices can be a bit off, though. Some of the things they sell aren't truly at "half price" and are more at 2/3 price. Considering how shabby some of those examples are, usually hardback RPG books and cook books that fall into this category, it's honestly not worth it. But hpb is a chain, so I'm sure it's just store policy and pricing. Might as well buy some of them new. Always check the retail list price inside or near the bar code if you're looking at anything other than paper backs. If it's not in like new condition, sometimes you might want to pop for a new copy instead. Saving $10 on a $30 book is great... When it's in great condition. But if any book is stained, dog eared to death, or broken spine, that book is no longer worth $20, no matter what the initial price was. So think carefully when shopping here.

The prices are great, and there is generally a good selection of clearance items. They buy books, but we haven't tried that yet so I'm not sure how that works.

Very socaible relaxing place with extensive variety and multiple selections. If you're fantasy and mythology fan they have a great christian section or if you're a more reasonable intelligent person, the science section is ideal to specifications. On the specialty shelf is a complete collection of slayer albums for $200 for all the old school thrash metal fans. Plan on going again and friviously spending money on unnecesary items :)

They have a nice selection here. I always find something interesting to read. I have not sold any books here yet. Based on the reviews from other sites I won't get much money so I'm not sure if I want to sell.

I simply love HPB! Seriously, as someone who consumes books like water, Half Price Books makes my habit affordable. It's also a great way to buy titles I'd like to add to my library that I had bought on eReader or Audiobook first. I've never used their buy program but supposedly you can sell books here as well. Half-price is where I go to spend two hours to peruse the art/architecture, literature, history, theology, it classics section for something new to me. I have one wisdom with this location. I went there to find a copy of "The Antiquities" by Josephus, and I looked in the religious section under history, and under Judaica, then I tried the history section under Rome, then Middle-east. When I couldn't find anything, I asked the front counter if they could search their catalogue. The person told me they had a collection by Josephus in the religious section under gnosticism. (???) There, that's my one qualm.
