Reviews of Commonplace Books
Abbey Lyons
Such a cozy little spot. Drove from Kansas City for a book signing. The candles they have going are amazing! We loved the kids area. The best part is the coffee shop attached to it. Hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had! They were so sweet to us and I will definitely come back!
Sarah Hodson
Super cute bookstore! Probably my favorite ever. The staff was so kind and it was a beautiful shop.
Mariah Pelton
What an incredible place. Wow. When we walked in, we thought “we’ll just take a look around and go on with our day.” We ended up sitting there for 2 hours. The girl who owns/runs the place was so friendly and helpful, and offered so many suggestions of places to go and see in Oklahoma City! The atmosphere was so cute and aesthetic. There was so much room to sit and meet with people and talk. It was such a sweet space that really fostered good community. The books were so diverse and beautifully organized. I found a book by my most favorite poet there. I am so thankful. If you’re in the area, stop in. Stay a while. Buy some books!! Get some cards, notebooks, pottery. It’s so worth your time!!

One of the coolest—if not—the only book store that carry the current, contemporary book listing. There’s art book, coffee table book, wanderlust photo book, graphic novels, books about tea, A24 newsletter, books about Bauhaus models, etc etc. If you’re into trendy, artsy, contemporary pieces, then this bookstore is for you. The space is super comfy, with huge mid-century sofas to read and ponder to at the center. I think they also have a cafe next door. What a homey space! Treat yourself a comfortable evening and drop by Commonplace bookstore when you’re around Midtown, OK. There are lots to look around and maybe carry home with you!

Jacob was very knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing and their candles are divine!! Thank you Jacob for making my experience so memorable. I will definitely be back!

This is an inviting little bookstore in midtown Okc. It's in a convenient location right by some eateries and coffee shops. The bookstore itself is small but a nice stop for a quick browse.
Jen Ganson
Loved this spot. When traveling, I always try to find and support a local bookstore. This place is worth a stop. Buy a book and then head to their Cafe to dive into it.
Natalie Gottlieb
We stumbled into this little gem by accident, and I'm so glad we did. The owner knows all the books very well and has very intentionally curated them. All of the books were interesting, aesthetically beautiful, and I'm willing to bet very thought provoking. The children's books are all unusual, perfect for a shower where you know everyone is bringing Rainbow Fish, and all of the artwork is exquisite. We could have easily spent all day in this hidden wonderland, because the place was airy and welcoming and everyone who worked there was so knowledgeable and friendly.
Kathryn Ryerse
Driving across the country my friend & I stopped here looking for a Bible. They were currently out, but we decided to hang around for a second because the vibe was solid. We had some rad convos with the Manager Jacob. Definitely a hot spot to check out!!

One of our favorite spots in okc! Both their stores are great places to find a full selection of great contemporary books and beautiful versions of classics.
Josh Griffin
Cool little shop on the edge of midtown, also shares/ runs into sincerely coffee next door. Perfect ambiance.
Richard McKown
Every city in America should have a Common Place Books. I hope someday this comes true. Also Nate and Joe’s Mom is awesome.
Katy Rush
5 stars for a gem of a place. We love Commonplace Books. We frequently visit as a family and love the variety of books for both us, and our young children. The ambiance is welcoming and warm- complete with candles and soft music. I wish my house was as soothing as Commonplace!
Kanga Hoben
This store is beautiful, the lady I spoke to and was served by was very nice. A great shopping experience.
Kasi O'Brien
Love this little spot! Although I always trip over the rug near the kids area! 🤪 …
Nelson La Salle
For a nice home town store it's fine. But my daughter was looking for a particular book.
Mandy G
Great selection of quality books. Stay for a drink and snack. Friendly peeps as well and great places to sit and relax.

Short version: Aesthetically pleasing and aiming to broaden your literary and intellectual horizons. Excellent for perusing a curious collection.
Long version: I have visited Commonplace Books multiple times since moving to OKC a couple a year and a half ago. The bookstore itself is open and welcoming with natural lighting, seating, and a good number of tables which display book covers to grab your attention. You could certainly pop in and pop out with a great book, but you would likely be missing out on hidden gems. If you want a Barnes & Noble-esque warehouse of every book or cheap wholesale items from Amazon, well, then you know where to look, and it's not Commonplace. Commonplace encourages you to slow down, open a book, read, talk to other patrons and staffers about the books and the ideas they contain.
If all of that wasn't enough to at least pique your interest, then I have one story to tell. I am a public school teacher through OKCPS, and as part of our "Rewards of Honor" gift card, we received $10 from Commonplace. Our gift card expires at the end of January, so even though this month is tight (post-holidays, no extra Saturday school pay to help pad the paycheck for another month, plus grad school tuition was due), I figured I would get a book or two to celebrate reading. After much hemming and hawing (and some unsuccessful searches aided by a friendly staffer), I picked two books and took them to the register. I apprehensively watched as the books were taken, open, stamped, and then rung up, as I had considered returning one of them depending on the total cost. Noticing my anxiety, I was kindly given the offer to return one of the books, no worries about the stamp. I insisted I get the books; they are important, reading is important, and supporting local bookstores is important. However, to my utter surprise and gratitude, the person ringing me up declared he would "meet me in the middle," canceled one of the books from the register, and handed both books to me. Thank you, Ben, for your kindness and generosity. I later heard that you and your co-owners donated a class set of Holes for another teacher. I will definitely tell others to support this place, as they are putting actions behind their words in supporting community.
Jack
Great bookstore! This is a must visit when visiting OKC. While the selection is limited, the care and effort put into the catalog shows. The kids section is unlike any other in the city. The employees are very friendly, and the store is extremely inviting. Would definitely recommend!
Evan Kostelka
Storytime is every Saturday at 1030, it's laid back and they read a few stories.
Lots of great sections of books, I always add a few to my 'to read' list after visiting.
Denise Chambers
My niece had an adventure with someone’s dog, I got to pick out a good book for later.
Stellar Kruize
Very beautiful and quaint store. The layout is very aesthetically appealing. The scent is a bit overbearing as it was a tad cloying even under my mask. A great selection of books and laid out well. I wanted to buy almost every single thing there. There was a very nice hardback, tiny selection of classics too! The prices are regular as they're all new books. Great store!
Stacy Robbins
Go-to place when in OKC. They have a nice selection, good little reading nook, and helpful staff.
Ariane Carter
I absolutely love the vibe of this bookstore. My friend and I get together once a month to have brunch, get coffee, and go to a bookstore. We were pleasantly surprised about how much we enjoyed our visit. Everyone was friendly, their coffee at their Cafe was great, just the all around feel of the place was so positive for us!
Kylie Pray
Fell in love with this bookstore! Every book I picked up looked so fascinating. I wish I could have bought more! The selection felt very curated and special. The ambiance and aesthetic were also really special. This experience reignited my love for independent bookstores. Also, the tote bag and bookmarks are such a nice touch! I’m from out of town, but I would come back to OKC just for this bookstore, honestly.
Shane Berrett
So... my daughter absolutely loves this place. We could spend hours in here. Neat shop, friendly owner, and super chill dog.
Taylor Carroll
Absolutely loved the vibe I got in this place, very comfortable light and airy. The people were super friendly and they have a free rewards program. They knew people by name when they walked in the door and were very knowledgeable! Would totally reccomend as a go to spot!
Daniel McLoud
Commonplace Books is a place for books and people, but the real focus is on the people!
One of the great additions to the Midtown Neighborhood and can say it's definitely worth a stop in every time you're passing by.
William Norris
We were visiting from out of town, and found this book store while trying to purchase some books for our grandchildren. We were very pleased with the selection, and service. The atmosphere was very inviting and festive. We love supporting local businesses.
Ranna Bigdely
The book selection will capture your attention, the ambience is perfect for reading and sifting, and if that wasn't enough, there is a clean little coffee shop attached. Oh, and I almost for got the staff! Not only are they competent and helpful, but interesting people that I find myself wanting to hang out with. This uncommonly cool bookstore made me forget I was in Oklahoma for a quick minute!
Jenny Ortega
Loved my quick stop into Commonplace during a visit to OKC. The atmosphere is so nice and bright. The staff was kind and helpful. They had an amazing selection of cookbooks, which made me so happy. Definitely recommend book lovers to check this place out.
Cory Rose
Very friendly place. Every section filled with high quality books and editions. The staff and my wife had a lovely conversation about a series that had her leaving excited. My son also found a book he loves and has been begging to go back!
Miranda Hodge
Wonderful book store and restaurant attached. My family and friends always want to stop here when they visit, and it’s no wonder why! If they don’t have a book, they will order it, set it aside for you if you’re coming in, or help you find another read.
The kitchen has never once failed in creating delicious eats and drinks. People are often surprised when I recommend them for drinks, but I have loved almost every drink they have made me- coffee, cocktails, etc. The food is delicious, and I recently was able to meet their new chef who was very knowledgeable and accommodating with my allergies. I love their dinner service, where they read a passage from a book before they serve food. It makes every dinner we have attended so special.
Abbie M.
Such a great selection of books and friendly staff! Today I picked up Anne of Green Gables and Exactly as You Are (a book about Mister Rogers I hadn't come across yet, but am looking forward to reading!) Bookstores like this are a ray of sunshine! Check it out! :)
Kaitlyn
I love this place! Lovely atmosphere through out the day. Went in for the family style dinner with a friend and has a blast. Talked with new people, the owner, chef, and rest of staff were very engaged with the crowd. Had a spicy soup with pork and other goodies in there (yum)! It is set up to where you get an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Check out this place for books, coffee, and lunch during the day, dinner in the evening!
Megan Clifford
Awesome place! I came here to look for a book to announce my pregnancy to my husband and the owner helped me find a great book on parenting. He also gave me for free his favorite parenting book, so sweet! Now of course my plan failed because my husband didn't notice the parenting books on his nightstand and take a hint, but Commonplace nailed it! Added bonus, their dog is awesome!
Sam Taylor
This is the cutest bookstore in Oklahoma City! There is a wide variety of different books here, and it is absolutely beautiful inside. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in a movie, and the workers are the kindest ever! It also makes you feel so good to support local shops! I can’t recommend this place enough!
Faith Huddleston
I really like the overall interior and the way the space was organized, but it was very pricey. Perhaps I'm just too accustomed to used book stores, but I wouldn't pay over $30 for a book if I can get it from the library. The appeal is really just in the environment of the store.
Edit: Thank you for taking the feedback seriously! We're looking forward to visiting again when you have a few more paperbacks in stock.
Jinny Chen
Such a beautiful place! I'm a lover of books and they have a huge contemporary selection of books that you don't normally see! The children's selection of books are amazing! Such powerful and strong titles that I want to buy all of them for my niece! Can't wait to go back relax there! Snuggling with Boz the dog while reading is my next mission! 😊
Amanda Moore
Wonderfully curated collection! Absolutely beautiful and relaxing space. Every detail im design is beautiful. The stoneware that everything in the Kitchen is served on, is absolutely gorgeous. The hummus plate (served after 5pm, I believe) is absolutely delicious. Always a variety of fresh and pickled produce, delicious bread, and perfectly seasoned hummus. Enough for two to share, easy. The sweet pup that is always here, is a calm, relaxing presence.
Emily Hubbard
I had the best experience today at Common Books! The staff is very kind and asked what kind of book I was looking for, then took the time to review 2-3 of his top favorites based on what I told him I liked. I picked 2 out I would have never found alone, I’m very excited to try something new.
Andrew Boes
I had passed by several times and I thought this place might be a little too... scholarly? hip? intimidating? I'm not sure, but as soon as I walked in, the atmosphere was so welcoming that all I could think about was hanging out all afternoon. Maybe next time I shouldn't judge a book by its... you know what never mind that one.
The music was pleasant and not too stuffy, the furniture was nice, but not so nice that you're afraid to sit in it. One of the owners was there and he did a great job of engaging me when I came in but also let me explore and ask questions at my leisure. The whole experience was warm and inviting, and I haven't even mentioned the books yet!
First stop and maybe the most impressive part for me was the children's area: big, breathtaking, imaginative books of all kinds. Around the corner was a quaint little secluded area lined with bookshelves and beautiful mural with a hearty table and chairs at its center. There is also a cozy little parlor area with a gorgeous emerald sofa and strappy leather chairs that I thought looked weird but ended up being extremely comfortable. I could have sat there all day, reading while petting the enormous shop dog.
The organization is a little different too: the sections are organized by types of people instead of types of books. It was something I hadn't experienced before and it made for an inspiring bookstore visit. Good job!
Hunter Gordon
Awesome little boom shop! I stayed at the owners AirBnB so I had to also check out their shop.
Picked up a Great Gatsby Graphic Novel while I was there. My wife already wants to go back and visit again.
Veronica Hensley
Great place for hanging out on a nice sunny afternoon.
Making reservations for brunch.
Has a SOHO Manhattan type of atmosphere.
Will come again.
Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly.
Amazing time watching plates being prepared by Bruce.
Ryan M
Great customer service and a beautiful space! The worker offered me water when I saw the cafe was closed for COVID. We didn't find anything that suited our fancy this time, but we will for sure be back! Thanks for being an eccentric and interesting place for us book lovers!
John
Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food or even what they serve. As far as a bookstore, it's extremely small and only new books. Wasn't for me at all. I try not to knock a bookstore, but this was more of a hip hang-out with a dash of bookstore on the side....almost an afterthought: look we've got some shelves, let's put new books on them.
Hope it does well and I wish it the best.
Edit 10-18-2018:
I appreciate the owner taking time to respond. I've read some other reviews about Commonplace and would like to clarify mine a bit.
I'm not from the OKC area and have no idea how much this place impacts the community as is implied by at least one review I looked at.
I don't want to project a poor review about a business that I browsed in for 10 minutes and didn't even walk to the other side to see the cafe part.
To offset things a bit let me add that the place was clean, very nicely done, and would indeed be a great spot to hang out. The general look/feel I want in a bookstore is not what this one is, but I don't want to take away from the good vibe Commonplace promotes. It was open and pleasant and absolutely worth visiting.
Drew Noecker
A great selection of books, and wonderful events for little ones. The shop dog is a great touch too.
There are also many great new books that are selected by the staff that would be hard to find otherwise. Go for the recommendations!
We have gotten “Dragon was Terrible” and “Ava’s Spectacular Spectacles” on the recommendation of the owner, and both turned out to be really good for our son.
Michelle M
This store has an interesting collection of books. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill. There is seating inside and out and a small café. There is also a huge, fluffy dog that I got to pet. He is so adorable!
Linda Stack-Nelson
Comfortable atmosphere that feels more like a living room than a store. Salespeople (including the dog!) are very personable and the selection is interesting and unique. Being here truly warms my heart, and I can't wait to go back!
Sam DuRegger
Went by Commonplace before dinner date night with my wife (kinda becoming a staple in our date night routine), and browsed the "Creative" and "Explorer" section. I absolutely love how this shop is set up, allowing you to browse areas where you are drawn. Shop dog is awesome as well!
Susan B
Love this place and WE LOVE STORY TIME. My kids love the poufs, the fun stories, the dog and the interpersonal skills they teach (looking others in the eye and saying "I'm glad you're here!"). It's a fun Saturday tradition. Also the bathroom has the best wallpaper I have ever seen!!
Mauree Turner
Egg & Avocado Toast with House Hibiscus Tea. Pretty good food, great atmosphere. There is a dog - so if you are afraid of dogs, or someone you are with is, be aware of that. It is a very calm dog. Kinda small, family style seating. Pickled onions are great!
Tyler Jones
Great atmosphere with an equally great and beautiful selection. The store itself seems like it was crafted with love and they bring this attitude to their customers too. The store owners found out my wife and I stopped in to browse on our wedding anniversary and gave us a bottle of champagne!!!
Nikki Inocente
Not only is the vibe of this place entirely wonderful, but the layout is great. All the books are easy to get to and well labeled. It's aesthetically pleasing and you feel at home as soon as you walk in, it definitely helps that there's a great pyrenees to greet you. ;)
Kelsey Looman
Really torn on my star rating. It's a really unique location with a beautiful interior. I received a gift card for the bookstore + restaurant (it said it specifically on the card) upon arrival there I came to find out that they wouldn't honor the card in the restaurant and that it was a misprint. I wasn't completely bothered by this fact until I looked around and realized that my $35 giftcard wouldn't allow me to buy hardly anything in the entire store. I ended up purchasing a screen printed canvas reusable bag and a pocket size book (the size of a block of cheese). I also couldn't figure out who worked there and who was there just to hangout. Overall I see what they are going for and think they could be really successful, pricing and service needs a little work.
Oreotitan foryfive
Such an important place. If you are in the area it is crucial to come here. This place makes an effort to build a community more than it does anything else. The staff is helpful and friendly and genuinely care for each person that comes through their doors. Every book I've bought from here has been next to life changing, because their selection is impeccably curated. And the food is absolutely delicious. The system that they have in place is so unique and so special and will make you feel like you are part of a wonderful hospitable community.
Jenn Clore
I love the feel of a small neighborhood book store. Although the selection is limited from what you'd find at a chain bookstore, you won't get the same experience. It feels as though each book in the store was hand-picked by someone you'd want to be friends with. The huge fluffy dog is also a big plus.
Alphonso Shurabi
Very cool concept, very fun interior, and cool deli or whatever down the hall. As far as actual books go, unless you’re looking for a coffee table book, you’re not likely to ever make a purchase here, as they’re full priced, and the only sales they had seemed to be a cart out front with weathered books on it. It seems like more of a hangout spot than an actual bookstore or place that cares about books, otherwise they’d have used section or more competitive prices.

It's really hard to write a review with only 3 stars and honestly if the environment of this store wasn't so inviting I would have probably given it two. I've wanted to check out commonplace for a few years now. I lived in the same building when it was built, so I was back in town and gave it a try. Charging 160% more than I can get the book at other stores in the area, and 170% more than Amazon is frankly really embarrassing. I didn't mention the price when I was checking out, but even the woman who rang me up was shocked at the price. I paid and went on my way, still excited to read my new book, and telling myself the extra $11 I paid for the book just supports local business, so what ever. Beautiful store though. I will say I agree with other reviews that the staff needs something to identify them, and the register would make more sense at a desk and not tucked in the corner, but these are all small gripes, it's worth a trip, but be prepared to pay.
Since I can't reply to the comment left by commonplace, I just have to leave it here. Obviously y'all aren't charging more than the listed price of the book, but when everyone else is selling it for a significantly lower price it's still the same thing, and my point still stands. And like I said, what's $11 extra to a local store vs a huge giant. I expected to pay more, just not 160% more.
Jon Megli`
This store is very pretty and has a great feel to it. They have a little eatery/cafe connected to the store with a space/table that can be rented/reserved. If you are about keeping business local then this is a good place for you as it has local owner and "local" prices. If you are looking for a deal or to stretch your cash, then this may not be the best place to visit.
Mallory Morris
I was visiting from out of town and noticed the store on my way to my B&B. After dinner, I made it a point to swing by, and I felt in love. In addition to friendly staff and a sweet dog, I was able to find all of the amazing titles I'd normally have to order from Amazon. Kudos for a thoughtful, well-rounded selection!
Gary
I really liked it, but it has a limited selection and full retail prices. I did browse several unique volumes but only purchased a paperback of short stories by George Saunders. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you like small and quirky, this is a nice stop.
Bobbie Franklin
Come here for something fresh in the way of local bookstore finds and food digs. Their hummus plate is my favorite in town and is big enough to satisfy two people. Dining here for dinner is a unique experience. They usually do a live-reading from a selected work and invite guests to meet and greet one another. The time we went for dinner the chef was absent, but the owner went out of his way to make up for it. Breakfast or lunch options are yummy. Maybe on the little more pricy side, all things considered. However, you'll feel good about supporting a local business that gives back to the community and values Oklahoma City.
Victoria Thomas
Friendly staff, good books selections
Lauren “Paige Turner”
Great book store with some fabulously basic chicken salad! I'll be back soon for the salmon lunch because they treat their food like little works of art. Looking at their menu I never expected to enjoy it but I loved it!
Jacob Allenwood
Amazing store! Cool book collection, great location, awesome dog, delicious smelling candle and they sell Brandywine coffee which is great! Haven't eaten here yet but if it's anything like everything else about the place, it's gonna be amazing!
Hayley Bentley
We absolutely love Commonplace. Chris Castro in the kitchen comes up with amazing dishes every single day that will wow you and keep you coming back. Everyone in the bookstore is so helpful and can recommend anything you might be interested in. Would highly recommend!
Martha Steward
I could spend hours browsing and lounging in the comfortable confines of this indie bookshop. Knowledgeable staff is on hand to offer suggestions while allowing space to discover the fascinating range of titles and topics.
Katherine Stone Fedor
What a unique experience! A beautiful bookstore filled with hand-curated, intriguing books in a relaxed, peaceful, clean, and friendly atmosphere. There's a quiet, friendly dog that lives among the books, sweet. Then dinner! Family style, at 7pm, no choices to make, they just serve you a creative appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert ... So you have to be ready for adventure and open to trying new things. There's a short, thought-provoking reading to you as a group before the main course. You're invited to interact with people around you and care for them. We had delicious fresh hummus with various things to dip, a cauliflower & chicken tikka, and a fabulous pot de crème with maple syrup. So fresh, original, genuine, and wholesome.
Melissa Neal
I have been in this bookstore a few times and wasn’t impressed. Customer service had always been “meh”. Workers on their phones and not even really noticing when you came in. UNTIL I went in this week, Aaron (I think was his name) was so incredibly helpful and kind! Kudos to you, Aaron, for going above and beyond!
John Wojciechowski
Perfect little bookstore. Visually stunning. Helpful, informative staff. Bookstore dog :)
Lewi VaLewi
I intern here, and it is a really great experience to be working with such lovely people is such a true delight. As to the prices; I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about them and I just have to say, that’s just what you gotta expect from small businesses; not everyone can be Jeff Bezos guys
Stephanie O'Connell
Loved this bookstore! A really amazing selection of books and really hospitable and helpful staff. There is even a bookstore dog who is super sweet. The books are arranged by attributes of how you see yourself as a reader which is really unique and fun and helps with discovering new books!
Lori Scott
The owner took his time helping me find the perfect birthday gift for a 1 year old. He even suggested books for our family!
Christina Jett
I love the Kitchen at Commonplace Books!! It is one of the first places I found when I moved here in October of this past year. As someone who follows a pretty healthy diet - I find this food to be a PERFECT balance of simplicity and quality. The hummus plate with the pickled veggies is delish. Ian usually is the one to make my Matcha latte with house made almond milk and he’s always so personable and kind. Chris even remembered me from one visit during a stressful time after my Father-in-law became very ill AND even sent me off to the hospital with a piece of banana bread for him.It just doesn’t get much better than this for customer service and attention to quality of ingredients. I can’t say enough positive things. ❤️❤️❤️
Nathan Koffler
This is definitely a cool book store and has some great seating areas. The selection is very limited which is not what I was expecting.
Other reviewers have mentioned the prices being high and the owner does explain that publishers put those prices on the books. I understand all of that but they don't really even have the cheaper paperback versions of most of the books.
For example, there's a book I've seen a lot lately around the internet that has been in paperback for a while now and I saw it here and would have absolutely bought it but they only have the hard cover version of it, which is very expensive because of the publisher's price. I understand the publisher's price isn't the bookstore's fault but I would like an option to buy the cheaper paperback version of the books here. I then found that paperback version of the book at another book store lately that day and bought it for half the price.
It seems like this bookstore is for people who want to buy full price books that are part of a niche category. I'm glad that they offer that for those who want that for sure.
The experience of the store is great though. It feels like walking into a place to hang out for othro book lovers. Also, the staff are very friendly as well.
Tiffany Podzemny
This is the place to spend a Saturday in the spring. The owners offer you coffee and plenty of time to peruse the selection. Pet friendly and knowledgeable staff. It's what made us all love bookstores in the first place.
Caitlin Gerardy
It's a cute little place and I really enjoyed stopping in there! It's not a very big book store so there is not too much of a selection if you are looking for something specific. But what they did have was pretty interesting :)
Melanie Hughes
Beautiful bookstore with a wonderfully curated selection! So many beautiful books to look at!! Super friendly and laid back staff. Fresh coffee. Friendly bookstore dog. What more could you want? Make sure to eat next door at gogigo!
Yvonne James
I really like this quaint bookstore. And now that they've added the coffee store next door, it's even better. I like the kindness the staff show to everyone. It's a wonderful experience!
Shannon Monson
Fun bookshop with a lot of interesting, different books. The owner was super nice. They place was very clean and comfortable. We loved the vintage MCM furniture! Will visit again the next time we are in OKC!
Nathan McBroom
What a wonderful local book store! Very friendly owner. Clean, bright shop with a comfortable atmosphere. Lots of great kids books as well as interesting finds for adults. We bought several books on our first visit.
Sarah Friden
This place has been my church. Nothing more spiritual than an oat milk matcha latte, breakfast tacos and a good book on a rainy day. A must if you're visiting OKC and want to feel like you're home.
Isaac Gilbert
Common place books has a fantastic selection for all genres. The kids section has books that will really provoke the childing reading them to dig a lot deeper into topics that faced and are facing humanity. Great atmosphere and even greater staff.
Kennedie Milligan
This is the best place on earth. If I could move into this bookstore, I would. Great atmosphere, amazing book selection, and a very friendly dog! I cannot recommend it enough.

Great local place in Midtown OKC, eat, drink, read, sit in silence, connect with other humans all or none of the above. Browse and leave, very coY and comfortable environment and relaxing for all. Very nice selection of children books. Chillax!!!

I'm always so impressed by and grateful for this little spot in OKC. The method for suggesting books has been so keenly developed, giving even the uncertain shopper a natural confidence in perusing any section. Ben & Boz are incredibly welcoming and making sitting and staying a while such a treat.

This is a great, calming bookstore. The Kitchen/cafe attached might have the best tacos in Oklahoma. Not exaggerating. The literature options are just as strong as the taco game.

Amazing atmosphere, very posh, I’ve heard the house hibiscus tea is good, and I’ve heard good things about the food. Just a great place to pick up on some new literature and relax & enjoy downtown OKC.

As a promising upstart conveniently located in the thriving midtown area, commonplace books has an open and welcoming environment for curling up with your favorite book. The arrangement of the books encourages browsing and the staff is very chill and waved me in coming off the street. As a book lover, I would recommend this bookstore as an alternative to the big chain bookstores, used book markets, and elitist book sellers in the okc area.
Ryan Berry
Amazing place. Great selection, friendly/knowledgeable people, and just a cool place to hang out. Also love supporting a local, independent bookstore.
