12.22.22 - I’m shocked I haven’t reviewed this place since it opened because it’s an annual destination for us. Coffee is good, service is overall spirited. The children’s section is superb. Support your local bookshop!!!

Yay! The seaport district/fidi finally have a good bookstore back! It just opened and it's wonderful. It's located inside Schermerhorn Row, the home of the Seaport Museum, and you can catch here and there similar historic wooden ceiling and floors. The first floor has stationary, suggested books, magazines and a nice cafe. The second floor is huge, with a really cute area for kids, a section of vintage and old books to die for, all other interests and topics, and lots of chairs and armchairs. Beautiful bookstore with an impressive quantity and variety of books. I could have spent hours browsing the titles and they even have an aforable coffee shop to enjoy your purchases

Perhaps my favourite book shop. The location is almost perfect (great, but 3,000 miles from my house), the decor, design and layout are sublime. There is plenty of space and a good range of books across different genres. The coffee was excellent and a decent price. The booksellers are friendly, but young and didn't know either of the books I was trying to buy (One was a Pulitzer Prize winner, based in Brooklyn from the last year, the other was by Dee Brown, in the US history section: hardly obscure). They could expand their knowledge rather than relying on t'internet. The wi-fi password is the best ever (I won't reveal it). I haven't got the capability to design things, but this would be how I would design a bookstore.

Easily the coziest bookshop in NYC! I love how the recommendations are very personal, while the shop is big enough to have so many great titles that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. The sections with literature from other continents is the highlight for me. I also have to mention how nice and smart the booksellers are. Two of them gave me really valuable suggestions. I’ve been visiting this shop for 2 years now and it only got better.

Incredibly friendly, forthcoming and engaging service. Here you can really feel that staff do their job with passion for literature and a good read. I initially came in searching for a book that was impossible to order due to being self-published, and after following the recommendation to check out the upstairs area (go! After wandering the streets of Lower Manhattan for several hours and in need of a well earned rest, McNally Jackson was a fortunate find indeed. I been here a few times and each time I am still confused to where to find certain sections. However, the staff is usually nice. The bookstore is two floors and it has seats to relax. They also have a cafe on the ground floor. They have some used books, stationary items along with a few other knick knacks. Prices for the books are cover price.

Adorable bookshop that has a large selection of books and stationary. Particularly impressed by the variety of international-themed novels. The adjacent café has delicious coffee (I always get the americano or latte with almond milk). Indoor and outdoor seating available. I love supporting independent booksellers, and everyone should, which is why I find McNally Jackson to be A true gem for bibliophiles like me. Its very hard to walk out of here with just one book. They always have something I want, and I could, and have easily gotten lost in here for hours. The seaport location makes it easy to get to by ferry, which is a plus for me.

RUDE BOOKSTORE STAFF!! only complaint i have is bookstore workers aren’t friendly and are very cold. asked for help finding a book, and was told with rolled eyes they “guessed” they could help. my favorite bookstore in new york by far though. awesome and wide book selection, and extremely organized and cute. if their staff was nicer, i would consider it my favorite bookstore. other than that, the cafe was so cute in the bookstore, and has great coffee. genuinely some of the best coffee in new york, and in general that i’ve ever had. barista was the friendliest and nicest person ever, and she made a sick latte. she honestly made my experience ten times better after the rude workers. cannot wait to come back for the coffee and selection of books.

My husband and I rented out the McNally Jackson Seaport wine and coffee bar to host our wedding guests for pre-ceremony drinks last weekend, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding experience. Owner Sarah was receptive from the beginning, bookstore manager Roger was incredibly accommodating and friendly, and cafe manager Byron and his team executed so seamlessly. I heard so many positive comments from all of our guests, and the amazing aesthetic and feel of the bookstore wine bar was so complimentary to our wedding as a whole. If you're looking for private events hosting, I can't recommend the wine bar enough. This certainly exceeded our expectations.

Situated nearby the seaport and as a local who lives nearby in the neighborhood, i am a regular visiter to this location. Charming and interesting bookstore with eclectic selection. A place for thoughtful browsing. Unusual, thought provoking titles across many disciplines and interests. Seemed to focus mostly on non fiction and opinion items - - although that's an anecdotal observation which might not be completely accurate. Definitely worth a visit.

Definitely a hidden jam... I can get lost in it for days among the vast collection of books... don't get fooled by its small store front or ground floor, it's another world upstairs... This location is in a beautiful neighborhood and I think they’ve done a great job of reflecting that on the interior, it’s light filled with historic touches. The staff were helpful when I needed assistance finding a book and there is a huge selection. My only drawback is that it’s a little difficult to navigate the literature section as it’s divided by country so unless you know the author’s origin, it can be a little difficult to find a book on your own.

If you need a place to chill out after a long walk through the financial district then look no further. McNally Jackson's Bookstore is the perfect place to pick up a good book and enjoy the cozy little atmosphere. They have a nice book selection and lounge area where you can sit down on the couch and read to forget about your day. Plus, it's right across from the East River. I would reccomend
