Reviews of Vanderbilt Bookstore
I wasn't sure what to find here, as I recently moved back to the Nashville area after being gone 10 years, and this location was no longer a Barnes & Noble, which is what I was expecting. Was it full of university text books? No! It's a clothing and gift shop downstairs, and a great bookstore upstairs (or should I say up- or down-escalator)! They even have a good selection of children's books, in addition to the current best sellers, and a wide variety of new books. It was a nice place to spend time today, as I had a 3hr "layover" between Dr appointments. I bought a book to read, and also got one to take to my 1y.o. grandson.
Slowwwwwly getting better. I’ve been visiting since 2017, and saw the products inside decline, then improve, then decline again while they were part of Barnes and Noble. I’m glad to see that they are starting to bring back quality and fashionable gear, on par with other schools. It’s not quite there yet, but it’s getting better.
Great selection of apparel. Books and closeout shirts and stuff are on the 2nd floor. There is a convenient escalator between floors if you don't want to do stairs. Go on the campus tour to get a 20% off coupon for a single item in the store.
Great selection of Vanderbilt items. Friendly staff. Can't look up B&N Rewards number though; you must bring card.
Clean and nice Barnes and Noble. Very nice, super friendly, and helpful staff. We were there to tour the University but stopped in to buy sweatshirts and get coffee at the in store Starbucks. Great app that saved me a ton of money.
Great college bookstore. College gear of all types and prices. Nice selection of books and graphic novels. Comfortable shop to visit with Starbucks nearby.
This is a unique Barnes and Noble store. It shares the space with Vanderbilt University products and textbooks, and Starbucks coffee. It is a two floors store. It has a nice and cozy children's books area. Great place to get a coffee, grab a good book and do some shopping.
It's a bookstore with plenty vandy merchandise.
If anything it seems a little cluttered on the 1st floor.
But the staff is quick and friendly. Everytime I'm back in town I always love to swing through.
This bookstore is well kept but there are almost never any sales and things are in general pretty expensive but that's to be expected for a college bookstore
This is another great Barnes and Noble. I enjoyed the visit
All the Vandy gear you could possibly want, and a good bookstore
Great selection but sadly no mags or newspapers. People were fantastic.
Great service. Nice selection of Vanderbilt merch.
Neatly stocked and well organized. Reasonable prices on all Vandy merch.
[correction] this is a good place to buy textbooks for studying, for having Vanderbilt souvenir. I expect yo have more hat and cap patterns with lower price
The bookstore is great, but be careful of the parking situation. If you step off the lot, there is a high likelihood that your car will be towed. It says "1 hour limit" on the signs, but does not specify that you cannot step off the lot (even to look around campus briefly). If you stay in the store, you will have a great experience! The staff is very helpful and friendly!
Decent clothing and book sections, not much other than that. Parking was good and only a few other families in store but I went toward closing time. Cashiers were friendly. One and done for me.
Many choices for Vandy swag for all ages and a fully stocked bookstore on the second floor with new releases, YA and seasonal choices. Organized and friendly staff.
While there’s less space than in the old shop and they have gotten rid of the fake Starbucks (there’s already one next door), they seem to be doing more with less space. they made the sensible decision to move the clothing and merchandise downstairs and have employed a better layout. While the top floor hasn’t quite been settled yet, you get the idea that you should still have essentially the same great selection of books as they did before.
Stopped by to buy some merch for an incoming vandy freshman. So many cute options here and a really good clearance section! Wish my undergrad had a thorough bookstore like this!
Great bookstore! Friendly and helpful staff. 😊 …
Great place that allows authors like myself to present work to reach the right audience. This time I presented my work, "Meditative Thoughts For Empowerment - Thirty Days Of Spritual Reflection and Renewal " It was a great experience. Many people enjoy the reading event
Beautiful store, well organized and staffed
Awesome book store staff is super friendly
Would liked it more if they sold bookmarks
Very nice what they’ve done after the rebrand!
Good solid bookstore, with a wonderland of Vanderbilt gear
Not just textbooks at this excellent local bookstore. Vanderbilt branded items and textbooks yes… But also find your favorite new book here.
Nice gift shop downstairs and nice bookstore upstairs
Great selection. Awesome staff.
Friendly staff, loads of Vanderbilt merchandise.
Decent selection. Great products. Just wish it had more apparel to choose from. Otherwise it was a good visit.
Nice facility w/many spirit wear options, but pricey!!!
The staff were not very friendly and quick with their answers. The store was nice and very equipped with books and Vanderbilt items every. But it was a nice place to visit again.
Large book store with plenty of swag.
Vanderbilt bookstore was about to close but helped me find what I wanted in record time!
I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. It's not just for Vandy students.
Helpful friendly staff. Big selection of items. Was on campus for the tour and stopped in.
Super nice help. College bookstores are unfortunately expensive.
Big and busy. Lol Too busy for me but it's nice store filled with lots of Vanderbilt merch.
It’s a great bookstore with (usually) accessible parking. The staff there was somewhat hard to find due to the size, but easily answered any question I had. 10/10 will be back.
It’s a normal college bookstore, just about any merchandise you can think of with Vanderbilt logos. The upstairs was off limits when we visited.
After writing this and getting a response I will add this ... not a ..Typical Barnes & Noble . However, while the textbook section was of course there and available for students they seemed to have an awful lot of empty shelves.
I suppose we shall see what it looks like upon reopening...
Great place with knowledge. I could get 3 books thanks to two buy get one free campaign.
It's good store for Vanderbilt items. Some items seems costly some items are ok.
Decent place. More stuff than you want, less selection than you'd like, prices that will make you want to leave school and get a job.
I love how this place is a bookstore, coffee shop, and vandy swag store all in one. (coffee was great) and there were elevators for handicapped people. Barnes & Noble is AWESOME!!!
My friend loves books so not stopping here was not an option. The store was well organized and we found some rare books on the sale rack along with a few craft kits and coloring books for our family. I would definitely revisit when in the area.
It's sad to see the demise of bookstores in this country (I doubt many of the kids coming out of school these days can read) but it's nice to be able to go into a brick and mortar store and browse the books before you buy them. The little coffee and snack shop located inside is also an added bonus.
Huge store great Commodores merchandise
Over priced so I couldn't get a thing with out cringing. My brothers University is better anyway.
Barnes and Noble is closing and a few weeks later a new improved bright n shiny new bookstore will open in its place... lost contract with the university
Nice bookstore with plenty of space and a great assortment of books.
Not as much Vanderbilt gear as I expected. It was clean and well staffed, but I guess we caught them before they were restocking. Did not have a big selection.
What a great place. They have a large selection of titles and and rows of books for your choosing.
Too much college merch, not enough books. Good books, just fewer than you would expect for a bookstore.
We wish every bookstore was like this– coffee, books (of course), school text books, things you need for note-taking and work. We aren't even in university and this made sense to us.
Also nice that this location is in close proximity or connected to a couple of great restaurants.
It's very nice. Good layout and selection. Nice quality too. Associate Victoria was extremely sweet. Some are still wearing masks (which is totally okay y'all!!) and she made concerted effort to speak clearly and enunciated clearly. Took care packing up our purchases too.
The parking lot closest to the building is tight but otherwise it was a good experience. Customer service was well done. I found what I was looking for.
Love to go in and browse for the newest tshirts and all apparel. Super friendly
Very nice and useful place. They have a good variety of things.
Very nice store. Clean and easy to find items.
Friendly staff! Great items to choose from!
Nice vibe, clean & well kept store. Helpful staff.
I'm glad me and my son we're able to pick up vandy gear
Love this B&N. Always get great help if needed and of course they have the latest book releases and a good magazine section.
Easy to find what you're looking for. Nice staff. Great Hours and location.
Lots of great items for the Vandy fans in the world. Prices are reasonable for a specialty store like this.
Very good selection!
My favorite bookstore. You can find pretty much anything you want here as well as novelty items, games and puzzles.
My son loves this place. Its also so much to do in the area. Great location!!❤
This is a great place to stack up a pile of books and thouroughly browse through them one by one while sitting at the cafe. The sales clerks were friendly and professional, in a relaxing ambience.
Family favorite, always great new products available and helpful, friendly staff
Great store great slection of books very helpful staff
Very impressed of the time and price for a book that they didn't have. 2 days and they even called me when they had it ready for me.
The outside looks unassuming but the inside is a nice 2 story store.
Good selection of books and novelties. My 15 yr old loves coming here for books
Great option for those living in Nashville and not wanting to drive far to the outskirt B&Ns. I was looking for Leather Hard Cover Collectable edition books, and I found them.
I found a few things I was looking for but was disappointed to find there wasn't a full selection of books at this location. If you're looking for Vandy apparel this is the place for you.
I appreciated how the managers jumped in when they heard the cashier up front be so rude. I received some gift cards which paid for a beautiful bible I bought. It is 2 stories so I go often for time to myself.
Large selection of books larger then a our normal place love it here
Great bookstore including an amazing selection of Vanderbilt University gear. Loved the coffee shop as well.
This place is nice as someone who lives in the area and can just ride my bike there. Plenty of Vandy' merch haha
Out of this world spectacular bookstore due to selection and reading products like unique leather notebooks for inspired writing. Never been in such a intellectual-targeted bookstore. Superb. The best.
Kind and professional staff. The store carries a ton of Vanderbilt merchandise. Comes highly recommended
Nice set up . Very calm environment and this place is great for buying Vanderbilt Attire.
Great place to buy books, gift items, and a great place to chill.
The bookstore is great but the next time I want Starbucks I'll just walk right up the street and have an official Starbucks! Mostly so I can use my points and earn points.
Very good staff...very helpful and friendly! A lot to choose from..a bit pricey though!
Great selection of books. Nice place.
Really nice facilities, great products. Wonderful, helpful staff!
Actually swung by here to see if they had any board games. Guess what they have a pretty good selection I was really impressed we're not talking just the Monopoly type either we're talking about good old Euro board games. The prices were reasonable as well so if you need something and you're in the area you can swing by just make really good sense for people that are college students there at Vanderbilt or even Belmont
I guess it's an OK spot for when you need to get your hands on..books and pens; but being next to vanderbilt there's a lot of ..Vandy-related items. If it's what you're looking for then this location is for you. If you're looking for the other stuff that BnN has, go to a proper location.
Many good books and you can read there and if good you can buy them. A lot of college students but not loud, so you can sit and read.
I enjoyed going there with my girlfriend buying vandy gear.
Really cozy bookstore, books upstairs, school gear downstairs and on one end of the second floor
Just a money spinner feeding off the university. They apparently do not offer any discounts to students at any time, even if you buy 3-4 things and ask nicely for a break. They sell overpriced stuff.
Nice bookstore with great collection of Vanderbilt University's souvenirs.
I needed several items and upstairs, Nancy went above and beyond to help me. Great Experience!
Bathrooms needed cleaning, but I rather enjoyed the store more than the one in my city other than this
The store itself is acceptable, but with so much space being taken up by Vanderbilt school stuff their isn't much variety. Parking is also often really terrible.
This is my second home if I had one word to describe Barnes & Noble the personnel are very polite.💝📀🎤FrancesAnnecalvert. …
WAY better than any other bookstore anywhere
As always nice book shop and great varieties of books available. But all the other things for sale are very expensive even when on sale.
Great bookstore in the heart of the vandy area
It is a 2 level university book store. Seemed a bit cluttered with too many options for my taste. They are the Vanderbilt University Commodores in black and gold. The clothing items weren't cute.
Very nice
Overpriced items but great selection and very nice atmosphere
Three people came to help us find the book we were looking for. Great service.
So many great options! Staff was very helpful as well.
Nice place to hang out! Vanderbilt items.
Staff was very helpful. Well organized store.
Great selection and convenient location. Free parking as a patron. Close to the university.
Incredible selection of books, Vanderbilt gear, and outdoor clothing and footware. Staff is cheerful, polite, and helpful. I was looking for some specific book titles as a gift for my grandson. The young lady at the information desk took me right to the various sections for me to make my choices. Very impressive!
This is no longer a Barnes and Noble at all. Some books that are not textbooks sure but it is the Vanderbilt Bookstore now and is almost exclusively for Vanderbilt merch. Save yourself the drive and traffic hassle and head to a local bookstore or the B&N at Cool Springs Galleria instead.
Such a good selection of books! I really enjoy this store.
Tons of vanderbilt merchandise available. Decent book selection. Parking is terrible. Only a few spots available for several different stores at this location
Love to read and they had a book I've been looking for
Very neat store! They have about anything you could want for Vandy souvenirs!
Great selection. Great place to relax with books.
Very nicely organized, but the paraphernalia is quite expensive. You'd be better off looking on Amazon.
Relaxed atmosphere and a helpful. I was able to find the books I was looking for with ease and enjoyed a great cup of tea.
Barnes and nobles was amazing they make great drinks and have amazing book tht other stores don't have
Best bookstore in Nashville. Reminds me of times before Amazon's onslaught
Friendly staff and so willing to help find items
It’s always a blessing to come in and see your face on a couple magazines here!
Fair size selection with friendly staff and convenient parking.
Awesome college bookstore with a great staff.
Great customer service. Fully stocked store with everything possible.
Best place to buy Vanderbilt gear, find great books, and they have the best greeting cards!
Really nice. Loads of clothing. A nice selection of science fiction books.
A bit on the pricey side for Vandy merchandise but staff and have quick checkout
Great mix of a college bookstore and a full service commercial bookstore.
A very cool bookshop with a very nice book choice
Best selection of high quality Vandy gear in the entire world.
Always Love the Vandy Bookstore
Staff was helpful in finding books. Understandably a lot of Vandy gear here as it is a campus bookstore but the assortment of items is still impressive nonetheless.
All the needs someone seeking collegiate merchandise could have are easily fulfilled.
Employees helpful. Larger book selection
Great to have a bookstore, the school bookstore, a restaurant, & the school store in the same building.
Great store plenty of vanderbilt merchandise. And some Nashville merchandise. Excellent for quick souvenir or many other needs.
Good location and parking walking distance from vanderbilt university.
Next to restaurants and hotels.
Good to see there is still a book store with books in it! Also a great collection of games!
Nice & clean building. Atmosphere peaceful & friendly. Price is appreciative. A rewards program would be great
So nice to visit a “real” bookstore!!
For a regular big chain bookstore, this is about as good as it gets. Proximity to Vanderbilt seems to have had good effect
It's the Vanderbilt campus bookstore. Good place to get your Vandy gear.
They have the book that I want. Mary Higgins Clark. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is wonderful.
Nice store... & some of the books for Vanderbilt students... "NO TAX"
Prices are higher here due to location, service and book selection was good
A gentleman working here, named Roger, was so helpful, he asked me what i was looking for and i mentioned it and said i already saw they didnt have it, he took me to another section where it might be but it wasnt ther. He said if he found it he would come get me and he did and brought it right to me, he didnt have to go out of his way to look for it but he made it a point to. Excellent customer service!
Beautiful location and structure. Great selection and is really peaceful.
Doesnt have alot of what other locations do. More focused just on the school.
Amazing place, staff was very helpful and very friendly.
Very helpful staff and good variety of items for sale
Nice selection of books and college merchandise
Good selection of Vanderbilt merchandise. Be sure to check upstairs!
Great little bookstore, but has no CDs. I suppose that format is dying out though
I guess I went there looking for a dinosaur, a well stocked chain bookstore with a broad variety of gift options. B&N Vanderbilt is not that. It looked to serve the students well but it was not what I was looking for. I should have spent my time somewhere else.
Not that many books. Mostly college stuff. Parking is small and tight.
Great shop. Offline buying of books and gifts still beats the internet. If you want to be inspired or judge the quality of the present you want to give to someone you love, Barnes & Noble is the place to go.
Great business/bookstore validated our parking after visiting Vanderbilt university
Amazing and beautiful items... Some at high prices
Wonderful place to visit if you enjoy reading!!!
Good place for books and Vandy stuff
Store was adequate for the purpose of game day items, lots of variety and items to choose from. Checkout was not well marked or easy to identify for first time visitors, although they were friendly and efficient on a hectic and crowded game day setting.
Can't go to a game at Vanderbilt without a trip to Barnes & Noble. Lots of great Vandy gear... oh, and we never leave without a book purchase or two!
I spent way too much time here during undergrad. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and they sell all the Vandy gear you could ever want. It gets really crowded on game days, so try to come on an off hour.
Nice bookstore. Good cafe.
So much for my upcoming Freshman.
Not a very good selection of books other than course books.
Nice bookstore. Good inventory.
Amazing selection of books and Vandy gear.
Great place for reasonably priced Vandy gear.
Love this bookstore! 2 stories of love... And coffee
Coming here for work (Vanderbilt) things, people are trained well in knowing how to process everything we needed. We just bought a bunch of umbrellas for prospective graduate students and they even helped me load them into my car.
Friendly staff.. good location across from Parthenon!!
Overpriced like all Barnes and Noble school bookstores. Try and find a mom n Pop Vandy bookstore to Support. No dressing room if you want to try on a shirt or pants. Bush league management.
Love a good B&N and if you are after Vanderbilt merchandise, this where you need to be.
always a great bookstore experience once you realize you have to park on the third floor in the garage and go across the crosswalk. pick out a second floor book go to the first floor to validate parking. if you can find staff and manage eye contact with them they are knowledgeable and courteous. and then go back up stairs by two other registers to get back to the garage you are immensely grateful for. location in midtown is its best quality.
Needed a Christmas present for a Vandy fan! This bookstore had that and more!!!
Smaller then most, strangely two story, but a nice escape in the middle of a crazy city. A small college book store is hidden in the back and around the beginning of the semester the place is over run with college students.
Amazing selection of Vanderbilt gear! In all my born days, I have never seen so many hats!
Best book store in Nashville. Good selection of greeting cards!
They have a great selection of leisure reading books as well as Vanderbilt apparel and gifts! Students can also pick up their textbooks there. It has a cafe inside, but there's a regular Starbucks a few storefronts down from it, so I haven't gotten anything there.
I wish it were better listed, but this isn't a full Barnes and Noble. This is a Barnes and Noble that serves as the Vanderbilt campus bookstore. As a result, they don't have the same selection that a full Barnes and Noble normally would.
Unless you need textbooks (and honestly, even if you DO need textbooks) or a Vandy beanie, I would skip it.
Love this place , perfect for gift ides ....
Great selection. Need more in womens clothing.
Dont like that they dont honor the barnes & noble awards etc
Great Barnes and Noble the only major drawback is the cafe doesn't have outlets to hook up your laptop 😳 …
Miss the old set up. Coffee shops and clothes are not incompatible. Coffee shops and books are.
Under some construction. Friendly folks.
Had the Vanderbilt logo shirts my wife wanted. Easy to get in and out. Parking was a little crowded.
Nice selections
They don't have too many books. Second floor is half clothes and the other half books. The magazines section is very poor.
Small B&N attached to Vanderbilt Bookstore - does not accept many B&N chain coupons. Friendly and helpful staff, two floors to get everything you need.
on my way to get A Voice By Angie Martinez....I'm so happy...love my east coast family
I love to get my Vanderbilt hoodies here!
Everyone is quite Charming I have written a lot of good songs here
Also a member of The Brew for three years Frances Anne Brown.🎵 …
The selection of college gear wasn’t that great. We left empty handed.
Nice bookstore for swags and books
They always have what I need, unfortunately there are more Vandy fans in here than the stadium...and I am a Vanderbilt fan
Love the location and great customer service!
Nice bookstore, helpful staff.
Went there checking out the latest makeup and hair books.
This B&N has a great selection of books and magazines. And it has the best selection of Vanderbilt merchandise. But it is expensive. Also, they validate parking for the 2525 garage. So, remember to take your garage ticket to the counter.
Lots of variety and selection of clothing too, but quite expensive.
Have variety types of books to read which is amazing
Best place to Anchor Down. Plenty of awesome swag.
I didn't buy anything here, but it was quiet and I enjoyed browsing.
Nice cafe and good book and stationary
When I can't find a book anywhere else, I typically order one here.
Best place for vandy swag, but not cheap.
Great bookstore with lots of Commodore fan gear
Has Vanderbilt stuff, Nashville stuff for tourists. Starbucks and little convenient food items Books store upstairs.
Nice comfortable setting for coffee or tea while studying.
Good clothing selection along with books
Bright, spacious and well stocked with lots of Vanderbilt Univ. Memorabilia, besides the normal books, etc.
Never been two a Barnes and Noble serving a university. The store was clean, and they offered apparel and had fitting rooms. Some genres were under represented as far as book selection was concerned, but overall, the store was clean and staff were friendly and helpful.
Clean and inviting, very easy to get lost and or loose time browsing.
Enormous store that is he mother-load of Everything Vandy! Go ‘Doors. They selection of books is average for a typical B&N and the staff are busy from helping busy customers. You might have to wait for service. The volume of school fan apparel and accessories is the most in the world for Vanderbilt schools. Fans you have to come to the homeland to find the goods and this location has them. Kids love the elevator.
Great school spirit cool environment ♻️
Nice 3 level store.
My favorite place for books
They had the one book I was looking for. Score!
The staff is very nice and eager to help!
Toured Vanderbilt for possible college for my son. Found our way to B&N and was impressed with the selection of Vandy gear. This B&N seemed more like a sports clothing store and than book store. Staff was super attentive and helpful and even showed me how to download a coupon to save 20%.
Great place.... Parking sucks
selection is smaller than your average barnes and noble.
Clean and organized. College bookstore.
Great visit here while touring colleges
Pricey, but a nice store.
Great book store upstairs!
All the Vandy gear you could want, plus books.
Good collection of many things with Vanderbilt logo. Visitors can collect mementos from here
Nothing different from any other school bookstore. Bathrooms not the cleanest.
LAST MAJOR FULL BOOKSTORE STANDING IN NASHVILLE, (Many smaller) and soon to evolve a senior reading project to electrify all those over 35 ..smle :)
This B&N is connected to Vanderbilt. You not only get a decent section of books but can purchase a nice Vandy shirt as well. They have a coffee shop downstairs with limited seating.
The only downside is parking. The lot in front of the store can get filled up really fast with people going to the many other stores in the building. The garage isn't far but it charges you. The bookseller will scan your ticket for you so there's no charge.
Big place to find a few rarely published/locally printed books
Friendly, helpful staff, thanks Nancy!
A really nice bookstore on a really nice campus.
I buy something every time I'm in there
What you expect plus text books. 📚😉 …
Nice combo Vanderbilt University Bookstore/Barnes & Noble...emphasis on Vandy. Upscale, expansive with anything a Vabderbilt student, fan or family could want. Lots of Nashville-oriented gifts as well. Positioned near lots of great low-to-high end dining options if you wanted to make an outing out of it. Not enough parking though, may be circling or hiking a little.
I know COVID 19 and everything but at least have one open bathroom
Check out is usually long. Great selection.
Lots of variety . Staff wonderful
Large Barnes & Noble with plenty of seating in the front of the store next to the in house Starbucks.
Nice place, pleasant atmoshere.
Visited Vanderbilt. Stopped in to get some swag. Lots of Vandy stuff to choose from.
Good selection of Vanderbilt clothing.
They have good stuff 😊 …
Great children's books
Really cool. Lots of apparel.
Slightly difficult to find the University of Vanderbilt section. Needs better signage by the doors. Picked up our (Alta Garcia) Vandy Shirt, used the 25% off coupon from the Vandy tour.
Great book store
I like Barnes and Noble in general, but this store is especially great as it is easy walking distance from Centennial Park and the Vanderbilt campus, has the campus bookstore upstairs, and is fully stocked downstairs with a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles and even a mini version of their standard cafe. (The cafe is overpriced as usual.) No kids section set aside like you might find in bigger stores, but there are kids books upstairs next to the college books and Vanderbilt gear.
Lee was very nice and helpful at the store!
Good for what it is. Just not a complete Barnes and noble.
Really friendly and helpful staff.
This Barnes & Noble's, with café, is now the Vanderbilt bookstore and thus has a great selection, including academic textbooks, as well as a frequent crowd of students, professors, and others associated with university. Staff and service are above par for the area, and for any area, for that matter.
Ambiance and coffee service were great
In and out . Simple eazy had a exchange
Lots of vandy gear but wish there was a real bookstore close to campus
Clean, organized, friendly staff, no problems
Small store but it had what I was looking for
Great selection of Vanderbilt stuff!
Everything is nice except the prices
It looked like they were doing renovations. The second floor is a little confusing. I believe this is a place set up mostly for Vanderbilt students; but they should try to make the environment a little more accommodating to customers of Barnes & Noble. Also, they need to invest in a duster. The shelving and railing were quite neglected in the dusting department. Overall not impressed, but could be worse.
Always a fan of a Barnes and Noble!
Huge store!!! Awesome options
Nice cool place to hang
Love this place! My to go place!
Nice selection of Vanderbilt souvenirs.
Found what we were looking for so was in & out
Very nice bookstore
Great place for vandyboys gear
Starbuck over here opens untill 10 pm
Good place to study and meditate..
I find this store exactly like a University book store, one must be observant and respectful to others, students working on important projects, etc. The staff was friendly and responsive when asked for anything. Although Nashville is a friendly southern city, it is not "Mayberry", it is a big city, many people doing, pressures, nevertheless I find that when anyone is addressed politely, the southern charm exudes freely gracious responsive, never solicitous...
I killed a cockroach at the bottom of the down escalator. Don't know if it is a big issue but I did not order any food at Starbucks.
good coffee and great service!
I have been a customer of not only this location of Barnes and Noble since 1992, before it consolidated with Borders Booksellers and it moved into this beautiful, han
I am a retired educator from a 16 plus year career in the Nashville Public Schools District. I purchased single editions and continuing sequential book series such as the Harry Potter Series in pre-order and exciting book release events and class sets of books to use in my Readingand Language Arts classes. I bought from this location as well as the Cool Springs Galleria, aas well as Brentwood and Green Hills. The staff always were helpful in locating my n and location sesarches to assure my purchases. They ordered v and my Kindles and all of the necessary chargers. The special events for book released were crowded but such fun with great snacks and finger food with drinks and characters in costumes from the books and and DVDS too were entertaining and they provided fun actives in various areas for students and m as well, helped pass the wait time. Great inventory, helpful staff, and great experiences!
location. As an educator in Nashville for over 16 years, I pre-ordered all of

Great place but very expensive
Barnes and Noble exhibited the most exquisite selection of novelties. These novelties included Vanderbilt attire (shirts, pants, shoes, accessories, etc.), a broad selection of general reading books for the non-Vanderbilt students, and a specific section set aside for textbooks and other classroom needs for the students. The Barnes and Noble was very clean, modern, and has lots of staff members willing to help you with any needs (whether it be finding a book or looking for a different size in a certain clothing item). The Barnes and Noble is also connected to a Starbucks, and it’s own Café/bakery.
Pretty university grounds in the city.
Less of a bookstore and more apparel.
price are higher. go online or other places if possible.
Quiet but pricy for dorm supplies
Well furnished library. Two levels with all kind of books. Starbucks is the franchise associated with the library. They should provide more outlets. It can be difficult charge your pc
friendly and very helpful staff
As a non-Vanderbilt customer there wasn't much for me here. To be honest, if you go to school here this is a great place to pick up your textbooks, but otherwise They suffer from many problems: their periodicals section is too small, the sci-fi/ fantasy section was smashed down, the coffee shop is set aside in a confusing manner, and you can hardly find any specific book genres.
When I visit Nashville from now on I'm sticking to used/vintage book stores instead.
Didn't have what I needed.
My favorite Vanderbilt venue for Vandy collegiate attire.
Who doesn't love a bookstore?
Nice place to visit.
Very cool place!
Very small and felt dirty was not inpret
All sorts of Vanderbilt and NO souvenirs. Starbucks doesn't do apps.
The employees are very knowledgeable about the University. Ask them a question and they'll find the answer. For example, why is Vandy called the Commodores when TN is landlocked?
This acts as a bookstore textbooks plus a lot of Vanderbuilt memorabillia.
Vanderbilt gift store pretending to be a Barns and Noble
Nice journals, bad key chain quality
Excellent
Barnes and nobles is cool and so was this one
Hats, shirts, sweatshirts and jackets! Oh, and books too!
Read all about it
Has books, coffee, and Vanderbilt college clothing.
I'll go solid Four Stars if mostly for the conversation with the security guard about my schwag whip, the work-study service at the lunch counter, and watchin' them Nashvillains knockin' each other out to take my parking spots when I went to get Momma's tablet machine. As you'd expect, Nashville AND Uni Bookstore expensive. So, doubly. Pretty and quiet book joint inside, with a whole lotta merch from a middling 80s blue jeans brand for women (?). Terrific sammich and coffee-drink for forty shekels. Parking is Rated: GFL, or good luck! My Jacked HMMWV took two spots here, so I felt lucky. Doubly. I think they were all tryna get across the street to Centennial anyways.
Nice choice but really expensive
Barnes and Noble is my favorite bookstore. I don't have one in my city, so I look forward to visiting when I'm in Nashville. I normally go to the one in Cool Springs, but we were touring Vandy and stopped in at that location. All I can do is apologize to the clerk for making her have to check me out, and, then ask her to validate my parking pass, which someone else did. If you don't like your job, find something else, preferably where you don't have to interact with people. I'll stick to Cool Springs.
You can find almost everything
Great place to study
excellent and friendly service.
Very awesome staff!
Staff was friendly & helpful
Great customer service
Great for the Vandy Fan
Selections can be somewhat limited and, at times, difficult to find. Issues with some sections and finding specific Sun categories. In example, Travel and Language books are labeled for regional sub categories but the specific languages or countries are difficulty to find within. Unable to find books on transportation or model railroading.
More a college bookstore
