Reviews of Drury Lane Books
Tyler Mason
I loved stopping in this little book store during a day trip to Grand Marais! I first stumbled on it while getting donuts next door and was glad I ended up stopping in. Though small, it has a nice selection of books — and a great view of Lake Superior from inside. We ended up getting a few books to read on our camping trip. The children's book section isn't huge but my son enjoyed looking through the kid's books and picked out a winner ("If You Give a Moose a Muffin").

Always enjoy visiting the charming Drury Lane Books in an season. Nestled near Artist Point in Grand Marais, it is a favorite of bookworms visiting the North Shore of Lake Superior. The well curated fiction, nonfiction, children's, and local history selections by a friendly and knowledgeable staff are hard to beat. Check out!

Extremely cute indie bookstore. The location is right on the harbor and you can sit outside and read right on a rock beach. As for selection there were many books i wanted, like always. I settled on one( everything is reasonably priced as well) and organized wonderfully.
We spent about 30 min here. Since it is pretty small it does get a little crowded but it was never overwhelming and definitely a place to visit on the harbor of grand Marais!
Matt Vinge
Everyone said this place was great and they were correct. The book you didn't even know you wanted just seems to find you when you're there. Great selection of local/ Minnesota/North Shore stories.
Alex Campbell
Awesome bookstore with a great selection! Diverse collection of science fiction and fantasy. I noticed a lot of great reads in multiple genres and the staff was very knowledgeable and willing to recommend a new book. I highly recommend stopping in!

Awesome book selection! Managed to get my hands on another Patrick Ness book (I'm a chaos walking fan) from here when I was visiting a few days ago and the clerk was friendly and the building was inviting!

We used to go to birchbark gifts to get my toddler a book when we traveled up here in the summer then they closed. Thankfully whilst wandering around we found this cute little book store. They're small but have a wonderful selection of books. They have little nooks everywhere for you to take a look at your books. The person behind the counter was extremely friendly and I will definitely return next year.

Beautiful location, quaint house, stellar curated selection of indie books. Feels a bit like you walked onto the set of a Wes anderson movie.
Anna Jones
Loved this bookstore! It's small but it had a great selection and lots of good recommendations from the girls working there.
Jonathan Posthuma
Really cute little shop, but with a great variety of books. The staff were very friendly and loved their curated collections.
Kris Jacobson

Lovely Independent Bookstore! She had just what we were looking for. A must for your Northshore reading.
Thomas Lichty (Tominating)
Gotta love a local bookstore. Great, focused selection of Minnesota authors, books on contemporary issue, and children's book--we bought "Goodnight, Loon."
Owner was kind and helpful. Even overheard her taking an order over the phone ("I'll drop it in off at the Post Office on my way home!)
Read more and support local!

A great bookstore with a wide variety of books. The staff was helpful with suggestions for my kids. There is also a great selection of books by Minnesota authors and topics related to the North Shore. Take the time to stop in and support this store!
Britta
Fabulous bookstore with excellent curation and kind, knowledgeable staff.

What a fantastic selection of local fiction and nonfiction plus many other great titles. Charming store, helpful and friendly staff. Nice location in a town bursting with nature, culture, and creativity. Just starting the "Land of Dreams" mystery series which takes place on the North Shore, on a heavenly evening back home now. Got the three books in hardcover here.

I love how knowledgeable the staff is. You can order online or by phone and have your books shipped to you (or even shipped directly to someone as a gift). Shipping is way better than driving into town for just one stop. Staff are friendly and helpful. I even ordered a map poster!

Honestly, me and my partner had a great time walking around this quaint little bookstore. Drury lane offers a wide variety of books for people of all ages. The shop owner (i believe) was beyond friendly. We will be coming back here often.

This little shop is my favorite bookstore on planet earth. I’ve picked several incredible reads up here over the course of what must be ten years or more. It’s in a peaceful spot in a town that’s so much busier and overwhelmed with people than it was when I was growing up, so it can be the perfect place for book lovers to pick up something they’ve been looking for, or to browse and find something unexpected in a lovely, peaceful environment. Like so many book lovers, I can usually find something I want to buy in a bookstore, but there’s something about Drury Lane. Whenever I go browsing there I find something I end up loving.

Very cute bookstore. Small but has great selections not often seen at other bookstores. Friendly staff Beautiful location too.
Sarah Miecielica
Loved this little bookstore. I was visiting MN from TN and had heard about it on the Northshore Podcast. I had to stop in and pick up a couple of books. For a small store it has a wrll curated selection featuring local authors and books about the area.

So much variety for a little book store! Love the MN features (authors, places, etc.). Poetry, kid's books, classics, sci fi, mystery/thriller, fiction, nonfiction...
Very friendly staff!

Loved this bookstore! Along with the books-that-became-instant-friends that I brought home, I was told I could take "more than one" of your colorful bookmarks :) I collect bookmarks as well as books - treasures, all of them. It was our first trip to MN and if we are fortunate enough to make the trip again (from VA), Drury Lane will be on the schedule!

Adorable book store right by the lake. Very helpful staff. Lots of local MN authors and topics, great for discovering a new area! Recommend you stop in and soak in the vibe!

This is just what an independent book store should strive to be; great setting in a quaint building, helpful friendly staff and a great selection of books. My husband and I felt welcome from the moment when stepped in the door. We wanted to chat with the staff about books and the local area and they realized that and talked to us, while I noted that other customers who seemed more interested in browsing quietly were acknowledged and help offered but left to explore at their own pace. Thank you ladies for a step into a store that left me feeling peaceful just the way a good book(store) should.
Jace Bresina
Small but decent shop! 3-star because there was very politically motivated sections all throughout the bookstore, just not a good touch for business in my opinion.
Sally Riggs
This is such a delightful bookstore. The woman (the owner?) who waited on me was delightful. I was looking for a mystery to read. She suggested “Masie Dobbs”, by Jacqueline Winspear. Wonderful recommendation. I throughly enjoyed, and have bought the second in the series.
The store itself is delightful. Small and intimate, with a wonderful assortment of titles to choose from.
I recommend journeying to Grand Marais, if only to visit Drury Lane Books.
Colin
Love this book store. Small but they've got an interesting selection. I particularly like the "Minnesota" section of books.

My family and I are always happy to come by and pick up a couple of books when we are in town. We enjoy the experience in your store. Thanks for keeping the health of your customers in mind too.
Ian Decker
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Went in with a general idea of what I was looking for and got several recommendations. Also very apparent that they were focused on helping me find what I needed instead of just making a sale. Next time I'm in town, I'll likely visit again!

you would never expect this high of quality from a small town bookstore. the three main people that run it no more and read more than I may have the ability to do in my lifetime.

We stop in for a book EVERY TIME we're in Grand Marais. Thoughtfully curated (always fresh, always impressive), I always find something that immediately jumps to the top of my reading queue - thank in no small part to staff recs. Last time we were in Kimberly asked me a few questions while I was browsing and came back with a book that I was immediately wild about. They get it.
