Reviews of Woodland Pattern Book Center, Inc.
Unbelievable. A must see. DIY, poetry, small press/ micro press, lit loving HEAVEN. Go for the books, stay for the art gallery or an event, if you’re lucky. Every community deserves such a valuable resource.
Just browsed but I liked the place a lot. Cool book selections
My child has attended their poetry camp for the last two summers and it is an absolutely wonderful program. I can't say enough positive things about it.
Love this incredible little bookstore! I went to a wonderful reading there and enjoyed it thoroughly. I also enjoyed the artwork on the walls. We are so lucky to have this gem sharing and encouraging creativity in our community!
This is a delightful store. They not only carry a diverse selection from authors that don't live here but their catalogue for local Milwaukee authors is extensive and quite satisfying. The staff is always professional and friendly. It's well kept and clean . Their events are superb and again indicative of their thumb on the pulse of the Milwaukee literary scene
It's also a great, worthwhile cause that warrants support, so important is their work in the Riverwest community.
Thanks!
Regarding covid, you can only preorder books and pick them up. I can't wait to check out the store once they open up. They specialize in independent, small scale authors. Very interesting selection. Great local bookstore!
This place is absolutely magical and supper important. We need to invest and support our local book stores! I come in with the request to order a septic book all the tome and they always accommodate my request and communicate beautifully.
Very good book store. Poems are their Forté.
While other reviews will rightfully discuss the poetry and local author selections, their American Indian section is also unbelievable. Some great out of print books that I couldn't find elsewhere. Tough not to spend hours and money here (both well spent).
Very cool place to find new things to read. I saw a number of players and poetry anthologies I was interested in, but ultimately could not resist a pair of chapbooks by a local beloved poet. I'm embarrassed I haven't visited this oasis sooner, but very glad I made time today.
Independent bookstore and local business. Extensive selection of zines, specialises in poetry. As noted both others the native american selection is thorough. Much to browse through, so plan to visit for a good while. The mural on the outside wall is also unique and adds much to the street scene.
Large variety of events and classes, some with scholarships available. This cozy bookstore has lots of poetry and prose by local and diverse authors. They can also publish your work!
Great selection and friendly staff. Highly recommended, especially if you're looking for zines or poetry
A lovely little shop! Please support this place. They are so nice and friendly, and they have some really fun books there!
Good for new and used books. Very niche for poetry, fiction, and commentary books
A Milwaukee treasure. A day could be spent exploring the shelves. Great staff. Events are elegant yet simple.
Awesomesauce! I went to see Tyanna Buie's art works in the gallery...the books were a bonus.
Love their community focus. Friendly staff and lots of unique books.
This unassuming gem of a shop has perhaps the greatest poetry selection in the state.
Great meeting space, cold in meeting room. Great staff very inviting and knowledgeable.
Beautiful and warm spot to stop, loved the artistic feel.
Wonderful collection. Well worth a visit.
This lil book store is cute.
It's the City Lights Books of the Midwest.
I didn't know places like this still existed
Great non-profit in Riverwest!
