Loved this location. Found tons of Pops! They had a huge selection and also found a bunch of exclusive items. Had a good amount of collectable figures too. They were helpful and pretty chill. Would definitely be coming back and would recommend.

I've shopped at Bedrock City's 1960 location for more than a decade. This place is an excellent comic book shop. They carry manga, collectibles, and tabletop games like you'd expect, but their selection of new issues, back issues, and graphic novels is what I love about the place. Many new shops lean heavily on tabletop gaming and are light on comics. I get why they do that, but I'm a comic book guy. If you love the ritual of picking up your weekly comics, looking at what's new on the shelves, maybe, flipping through something that catches your eye ("I've heard great things about this new series. Oh good, they've got the back issues") then Bedrock City is for you.

There is a reason this is a nationally renowned comic shop chain in Houston. They have a very solid selection of back issues, featuring mostly Marvel and DC, going back to the silver age (if you want golden age comics or magazines, go to their flagship location on Westheimer). Their selection of Harvey, Gold Key, Charlton and Archie is not deep, but it is a little above average. I dont do toys or manga, but they seem to have a very solid selection (based on what friends tell me). Highly recommended (which is why I've been a subscriber here for 20+ years through 3 northwest Houston locations).

Been here several times for vendor events and collectible scouting. Good variety of SW Black Series figures, high end figures, comics and some Funkos. Seems the Funko selection has significantly reduced over the last year. Staff is informative but not as friendly as our local Bedrock City. Location is decent and easy to find at the corner of Hillcroft/Voss & Westheimer. This is the largest BC I have been to in Houston and they also have a decent selection of board games, tee shirts and plushies.

This review is specifically for the FM1960 location. There are several others in Houston and the surrounding areas, but this is my first visit to the chain. I am definitely considering visiting some of the other locations as well, as the customer service was very friendly. Cool place for collectibles. Not as many comics as I would have liked to have seen, but an impressive assortment of graphic novels as well as comic and card storage supplies. They have an ENORMOUS selection of "Pop!" figures. I was also pleasantly surprised to find books for younger kids there (Think the kinds of series you usually see at your kid's Book Fair at school). The majority of their stock is collectible figures, including high-end, unique figurines in collectible boxes. I saw a cool Captain America figure there for about $210. Also, vintage Star Wars sets like the Dagobah playset. So, if you're looking for that sort of thing, this is the place! All in all, a cool store. I guess I'm just nostalgic for the old-school comic shops that carried more books, like when I was a kid. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Not the best experience. This location was much smaller than the other locations. Quite a bit of inventory for the size of the store. Reminds me of the old location on Westheimer. As well as a stereotypical opinion of comics shops of the past; dark dungeon style. I stop by here on my lunch break on a Friday. I forgot that the spring sale was happening and the store was quite packed. Seems like business was doing quite well for them but not really the best experience when you're in such a small store. Not knocking it for the volume, I still think this is potentially my least favorite of the BEDROCK CITY locations due to size, layout, and dim environment.

I honestly can say this store is a jewel on 1960. The staff is friendly and helpful. My boys, nieces and nephews love it when I bring them to this location. I have to visit there this there locations but I really love this one.

I'm just Looking For my Watch

I have never had a bad experience with this location. In my opinion it is the best of the Bedrock City locations and because of that I drive from my apartment downtown just to visit this location. The staff is friendly and recognized my brother and I after only three visits. They have a great and fairly diverse stock of comics and collectables. They have a much better selection of most items than the halfprice books next door. It's a great shop and I cannot wait to go there again today.

From my point of view, a board gamer, I think this place needs a bit more of that. The section was a bit empty and even though I found one game I liked, the price was a bit too high (after checking other prices in the internet). Apart from that, the guys that provided service are nice, and the store has a lot of figures and comics. Like I said, I wouldn't know how well they have their comics, but they had quite a few.

Friendly staff!!! If they don’t have it they will help you find it... if I had one down thing to say is I feel like they grade stuff on the floor a bit high. On their price tag you will notice another number with a grade a lot of 9.2 stuff looks 9.0 to me example. Overall defiantly best place to go in Houston for your comic needs! They have many locations to accompany you! Also I believe they are apart of the over street price guide board. The sales are awesome!

They have a lot of neat stuff here, just wish I had more money to get everything I wanted. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Idon't know a lot about comics so I can't speak to the selection but it looked like a lot. There is a lot of cool stuff if you need to get someone a gift though. Had never been in until recently but I will definitely be back.

I have been going to this store for as long as I can remember when it was further down 1960 this is the best of the locations friendly and knowledgeable staff no problems 2022 update changed from 5 stars to 3 I personally do not like the new location neither does a few of my friends the staffing was fine but the store is just to streamlined now if that makes sense the old locations felt like a comic shop the new location does not

Love the spacious layout. The diversity of statues, toys, card supplies, trades, manga and blind boxes. Seeing all the newer comics on the wall and how it’s all alphabetical is just ❤️. I enjoy visiting here and will definitely be back.

This place was great! Huge assortment of comics, statues, and action figures. Included in the action figures were used, bagged figures that had some classics from my childhood (he-man, 80's gi Joe, 90's tmnt). They had a used comic section if you were trying to complete a set, and a wall of new compendiums. They even had a selection of bagged Lego mini figs that was pretty cool.

This is a pretty cool spot. I have been coming here for about 22 years. The store has moved from its original spot. I really like it when i find something from my childhood in there. Hits you right in the feels! Their inventory seems to cycle pretty quick. If you see it and want it, buy it. It most likely won't be there if you go back.

On of my all time favorite comic stores. The staff is super nice and the selection is just fine. To someone new to comics, you might find the prices alerting at first but once you find your way around it, it's super fun to collect comics. I am personally a Graphic Novel collector and I always go to this place. The events and specials that they have are the best thing in the world. Especially in May when they have the Free Comic Books day.

Awesome selection of comics and cards and fun nerdy swag. This place is amazing and so are the staff running it. Always knowledgeable and helpful and fun to talk with. In years past I've received helpful birthday gift recommendations (they didn't balk at a teens really low buget lol) and had a stack of hand me down comics evaluated (they weren't worth anything) and have been introduced to indie graphic novel authors wayyy before they show up on other shops' shelves. Cool place, cant wait to go back!

Really great for the city to have a place like this for comic book fans but as much as i like it i really wish theyd carry more manga. The way their manga section is set up gives the impression that it's just an after thought. I guess it's hard to compete with the bigger book stores but im positive they'd get more buisness if they expanded their manga selection.

It's immediately obvious that they were experienced in aiding others. The variety of comics, collection items, and other merchandise is impressive. I highly recommend visiting.

I like this place but it's not my preferred LCS. Personnel are helpful but sometimes...I don't know...they're people who work in a comic shop. It kind of explains itself. Shop is exhaustive and highly focused on action figures and Funko dolls. Lots of stuff for the kids and graphic novels from most current publishers

I have been a patron of Bedrock City Comic Co. for about 15 years. I have very specific, fond memories of visits and purchases made at the store's old location down the road when I was a kid. When I am looking for a specific comic or just feel like browsing "nerd stuff" (as I lovingly call it), this is the place. They have a great selection of collectibles and other fun stuff, as well as comic books and graphic novels (of course). The staff is always helpful and friendly, if not sometimes maybe a little over-attentive. Plus, they frequently have sales and special deals, so I recommend following them on social media. All that being said, it's always fun to pop in and it's just about impossible to leave without something shiny and new in hand.

Helpful staff, great selection. They had an awesome sale around Christmas time so I managed to get a good deal on some stuff I really wanted. There was a party with food earlier that night but I had to pick up my boyfriend from work and missed it; however, that was a nice thing to do. We'll be going there regularly to start building our comic collections again. Really, I don't have much more to say about it, but there's a word minimum I haven't met yet so I've got to come up with more stuff to say. There isn't much. It's a comic book store and I recommend the heck out of it. So shop there.

Went for free comic book day and I bought all the dragon balls. They have a lot of comic book selections and also some of the older original comics. Staff is awesome! They sometimes dress up for upcoming Movies like Marvel, DC and Star Wars.

Bedrock’s Kevin, is such a great and helpful part of this store. We loved the way he runs this comic book store. He was super hopeful in helping the little one choose the best titles - giving recommendations on key stories to read and providing a great background on the characters and plots. They are also very active in the community, giving back in the form of taking guest writers and artists to local schools. This is probably the best location to be part of the comic book community in the Texas area.

Love comics? You'll love this store! I became friends with all of the employees, and they always have a recommendation for new reads to start up. It feels like a library with how many comics they have, and they have this thing where they'll store new comics for your favorite series (you just have to tell them which series and put a card on file). And the merchandise! Gundam figures, clothes, they even have a life size spiderman! They love comics as much as the next fanatic, and they'll call around if the latest issue is sold out at their location, and get it shipped there pretty quickly. All in all, they respect all levels of fandom-ness, so new, casual, and die-hards will enjoy this store.

So if I were to review this place 6 months back it would have easily been a 1 star review but now that they are under new management it has been a night and day difference. The prior guy running the business was always sitting in the back, ignoring customers and always had a disheveled bum like quality which always had me second guessing if he even was the manager. The store now is super organized. Always stocked with new product. Friendly faces who always greet you. The big seller to me is how well organized the Funko Pops are now. One of my favorite places to go each week. Plus if they do not have what you are looking for they will assist in any way possible to get it. Thank goodness for the new manager for saving this place. I had my worries. Go check them out.
