Loved it! Thousands of back issues, bagged n boarded, and alphabetized. New comics too! Key issues and expensive stuff on the walls and up front. Also thousands of dollar books. Best shop in GR out of the 4 that I've been to.

Went here for the first time while walking, after driving by literally 1000s of times. Awesome awesome place! It doesn't look huge from the outside but do not be fooled, the store goes back a ways and just absolutely loaded with comics and other fun stuff. Packed but not stuffy, very comfortable place. The two working are awesome, gave my friend and myself some great thoughtful recommendations and seem to be really nice folks. I'm stopping in again soon, for sure.

Walking into Tardys is like walking into you’re corner comic shop of yesteryear. Posters, comics and toys dot every available foot of real estate, while the team members hang out, and speak of new comics coming out, or catch up with friends. Unlike the shops of yesteryear, the shop is clean and organized, while still keeping up the feeling of nostalgia where you and you’re friends read the new comics as a kid. Gavin and his team at Tardy’s are comic savants, while still personable. They are welcoming to anyone; never will you feel like you are being gatekeepered from a lack of knowledge or because of your opinion of a certain comic. If you’re in West Michigan, and you are looking for a new comic shop, this is the place.

The owners are awesome as well, they are always going to the big Comic Cons looking to pick up the special edts to bring back to the store. They will happily order you a comic of its still available. They will also buy comic collections depending on the size and the quality.

Best comic book shop in Grand Rapids. I first stopped in back in 2009, and have been a regular ever since due to the exemplary customer service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to order anything your heart could desire (within reason, of course). Great selection of new and old comics, so you never know what treasure you might find in the bins.

I've been going there off and on since I was just a wee young lad of 12 and have enjoyed this establishment through the years. I will continue to go there. Sweet old school comic shop with a great history. I remember getting comics here with my Grandma back when I was 10-11 years old. The new owners Gavin and Deanna are amazing people. Mom and Pop shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection, packed nearly to the ceiling, and they make the effort to aquire rare, unique, and interesting stuff. Definitely worth a stop. The only drawback I can mention is that they do not bag and boards new comics, so some of the selection is a bit beat up from the get go. Other than that, it's an amazing shop everyone should check out.

Visited the store today for the first time. Spoke to the owner and some of the great staff. Found out the store Originally opened in 1979, and still operates in the same location. This is such a cool store. Not as organized as I would have liked, but the staff knows where its all located, and more than happy to help. Great time, highly recommend.

AMAZING collection! I've only been here twice, but every time I have to be careful not to break my bank account! Today I picked up a couple of books I was interested along with an out-of-print X-Men collection that I'd been looking for for months! I love it here!

Awesome shop that is well worth a visit! The owner and wife are so friendly and welcoming. A buddy of mine recommended this place after I told him I was looking for GI Joes for my son. The owner and I talked for a while and he recommended several titles he thought I'd like since I haven't been into comics in awhile. Just the nicest guy and down to earth. The shop itself, like what others have said, has a an older feel to it. It reminds me of shops I used to visit when I was a kid back in the 90's. You never know what you'll find there. I highly recommend this place. And to the owner, I'm sorry I didn't get your name. Thanks for the recommendations. Next time we're in GR we'll be sure to stop by.

What a fantastic comic book store! Mostly Comics but they also have a lot of figurines and collectibles to purchase. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A little tough to find but there is parking next door and it's super easy to spend 50 bucks or more there!

Wonderful place. You need comics? They got comics old and new and quite the Backstock. Need to find that collectable figure from your childhood? They more than likely have it. If your looking for something weither is be comics or toys they should have it if not ask. They might be able to look out for it.

Lager heights local comic dealer, has collectibles, posters, graphic novels tray backs, buttons etc etc. I personally love this place its been in that location since I was a child, They are really cool - chilled people there better then the larger guys who just see you as money, they always have what I want and need, a regular place for me to shop for books and feel comfortable not having a ton of people rush me, honestly one of my favorite comic stores in grand rapids and surrounding areas. I've stumbled upon a true gem with Tardy's. I've lived so close for a few years and never knew it was there.y son's and I stumbled across it while biking. Inside is simply amazing and you can find just about any comic you're looking for. If not, they can order it. Plus there are tons of collectibles as well! Tardy's is definitely the place to go for all comic related things!

I have been going to Tardy's since I was a kid. They always have what I want and if they don't will work to get it for me. I can't begin to count the many times I have walked into Tardy's to grab my comic books and talk about the happenings in the comic world. The owners are fantastic. They are welcoming and are very knowledgeable on all things comic and geek related. Their willingness to work for their customers is better than any other store I have been to in the Grand Rapids area. Do yourself a favor and go check them out. You won't be disappointed.

Tardy's is the best comic book store I've been to yet! They are great with my pull list and have no problem ordering back issues for me... Hell Kirby even sold me some of his kids books so I would have the whole Deadpool vs. Carnage collection! When I first started shopping there I lived right around the corner and now I live just south of Sparta, but I have no problem at all making the drive just to make sure I get my books from Tardy's!!!

These guys are wonderful. Although it is a shop that isn't exactly where you expect it to be, the folks at Tardy's will go out of their way to get you to come in and continue shopping. I was looking for a very specific book that had gone out of circulation, and they did their absolute best to find and get it for me. I can't thank them enough for their customer service, and definitely recommend giving them a try versus the competition.

The Collector's Corner has been around for 33 years, as of this writing. They are a great little "hidden" gem in a run down part of town. Located near the Burton & Eastern intersection, they have parking available in front and back. The Owners are Kirby and Deb Tardy, who have devoted lots of time, sweat, and tears to the comic industry in Grand Rapids, MI. They are great folk who will do anything they can to help! If you do decide to start a "pull list" with them, the communication they offer is GREAT. E-mails come from Tardy at least weekly, and ordering is easy. They offer a stamp program, that (the last time I visited) was one stamp for every $5 spent. When you hit a certain number of stamps (55 I think) you get a $50 store credit. MAJOR RESTRICTIONS APPLY. If you want to start a new series ORDER EARLY and communicate your wants/needs to them. Or you may miss out on that book you really wanted!

Fantastic comic and collectible shop! Its small but there's so much crammed in that it's impossible to see everything the first time you go! Even the walls are full of cool things to look at and buy! I go in every few weeks to pick up my saved comics and shop for new action figures. My favorite place in GR, totally recommend it!
