Huge bookstore with a large selection of mostly Christian books. There's a discounted book area (not really that cheap, though there are a few 99¢ finds), and they even have a used book area. There's a small Spanish section with mostly good books. All kinds of Bibles and academic books. There was a coffee shop, but I think it was closed. One of the largest bookstores I've visited, I highly recommend it. However, they lose one star because they also sell stuff by false teachers, liberals, and Roman Catholics.

Absolutely amazing place! It's such a great facility with an amazing and extensive variety of christian books, jewelry, gifts, bibles, bible study material, etc! The hospitality was wonderful and I can't wait to go back and shop around some more! The devotional I bought was very very good quality and the bible case as well! I highly recommend this place to ANYONE. Any old christians looking for a new bible or a bible case, or any newer christians looking for devotionals and study material! It really is an amazing place for all christians 💕😊🙏🕊️

absolutely love this bookstore! it's kind of a hidden gem and doesn't appear to be much when driving by. On the inside, however, is a top notch, clean, professional and comfortable setting. While I wish the staff would take a second to greet each customer, they are quite friendly and eager to help you on approach. The store is well lit and well decorated. One of its great assets is the small stage they have where local artists perform and authors do book signing and readings of their work. I also enjoy having hot apple cider from the cafe. They have a tasty selection of nuts and dried fruits, as well as sandwiches, which I can't wait to try! I have yet to walk out disappointed --and they have always had whatever book or author I was looking for in stock. If you love book stores, you owe it to yourself to stop and browse Baker Book House, in Kentwood!

This Christian book store had a great atmosphere! There was quite a large variety of books, and nice seating to read them. A quaint small coffee shop is toward the back and has free WiFi. I inquired of an employee and they cordially found the books I was looking for. The only downside was that I wasn't able to find all the books I was looking for. This isn't anything against them, since I know there were dozens of other people looking for the same ones. In essence, this is a fantastic bookstore that I could recommend!

It has been a very long time since I visited Baker Book House. I love the new look and feel. The cafe was closed, probably short staffed like everyone these days. But the facility itself was well organized, well stocked, and very accessible. I was a little surprised by the number of secular media items (mostly movies and music) but was overall impressed. The staff was slow to respond, though, and struggled with a book title of a popular medieval meditation book.

One of my new favorite haunts. A very nice, clean, and spacious bookstore. They have a very extensive used books section in the back that is larger than many general audience used bookstores. This is a labyrinthian paradise for any book loving Christian. To God be the glory!

Great selection of books, toys, puzzles, bibles and gift items for ALL ages. In the back is a coffee shop with plenty of seating. Towards the front is a nice seating area by a fireplace. In one large area are shelves with used books. The cashier was extremely friendly. The parking is free with handicapped spaces at the entrance. The mall is close with easy on and off to expressways. Also there is light which makes it easier to get out on the main road. They also have a nice Christmas area where you can snap a photo, then tag them on social media. It was well worth the 2 hour travel time to the store. I will definitely be visiting again.

Baker Books is the place (outside of Church mind you) to connect with God, catch up with friends, enjoy goodies at the cafe, and shop for your new favorite book or gift for a loved one. What I love about Baker is just when you think you've seen everything Baker has to offer, more is in store - literally. When you reach the end of the books department between the Bibles and the clearance section, a-whole-nother store opens up with gently used finds that could take hours to rummage through. Baker is the Barnes & Noble of Christian goods, only much better (as B&N sucks). Baker also treats their customers with grace and class. I always feel that none of my needs have gone unattended once I finally do leave (more like stay until closing time before I'm pushed out). Truly, the absolute best Christian bookstore I've been to.

Baker Book House is a great bookstore. They have a huge used book section and the new book area is really nice. In the kid section they have a little train table to play at. My 1 year old nephew loved it. They also have a really good cafe there. My family all got walking tacos. They were a little over $8 but were huge.

Found this bookstore about a year ago. I make the hour drive now about once a week because it truly is a great bookstore. Friendly helpful staff who smile and engage with customers. They love to sell a good book, and I love to buy them.

In an era where online book sales have swallowed up the neighborhood "Bible Bookstore," Baker has brought it back with flair, charisma, service, and price point. I typically use my church account info when buying a book related to our Bible studies to see if it's something the group wants and was told I couldn't. I am so glad I was able to go to this gem. The only bummer was I couldn't spend more time here. Amazing selection of books. I spent more time in the on-sale and used section, which is tremendously huge all on it's own. Very wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. I do not know if I will get to be going back anytime soon (though I am certainly going to be checking out their website) but I would in a heartbeat. If you are a lover of Christian literature, you will love this store.

If you are looking to expand your knowledge on what God has to offer through the many voices of those who walk along the path of Christ, this is the bookstore for you. My family continuously returns to this place to expand our library and the variety of books, games, music, toys, mcguffins you can get here is amazing! Huge selection of books. I could spend hours in this place. Went here to see a speaker and really liked the atmosphere. As well as books they have many Christian images and decorations. There is also a huge used book room. Definitely would like to come here to get work done.

Haven't been to Baker book house in many years And it was so nice to stop buying somewhat reminisce about a fairly unrecognizable bookstore. It's been rebuilt and and it's definitely not the same layout but just being on the soil was nice. Great used and new books to uplift your heart and soul.

I always stop here when in Grand Rapids. A Christian bookstore that actually has books of deep, intellectually-enriching theology. There are many academic volumes worth perusing. Staff does a good job of highlighting books with Christian perspectives on current event topics. Has a wide selection of Bibles in all translations and versions. I love perusing the used book warehouse for used, and out-of-print classics. Oh yeah, there's a coffee shop and gift area if you are into that.

Incredible selections of books, gifts, children's items. The coffee is amazing, they even have vanilla chai tea made with powder here! My husband and I drove the from Montague.... it's well worth it. The used book section is HUGE and inexpensive. Love this place!

Add in coffee and the variety of quiet areas, this is an excellent place to come for a quick 5 minutes or a 5 hour study session and everything in between.

Very great store! They have a clearance section with overstock or books that are slightly damaged and you can find some pretty amazing deals. We got Systematic theology in 1 volume for only like 35$. They have a very nice coffee shop as well and are all super friendly!

There are plenty of good books to purchase here, though discretion is needed as there are many books that are theologically liberal. The used book section has a good selection of material. While the prices in the used section are often very good the odd title is overpriced when compared to the same new title on Amazon. The seminary student and pastor discount is wonderful. I will be sure to attend Baker on my next trip to Grand Rapids.

Coming to this bookstore was such a nice experience. I don't know why, but I somehow had no idea that there was such an immense amount of Christian books that have been published. The used books section is worth a peek just to experience the floor to ceiling shelves packed with all manner of Christian books. Lots of bargains to be had as well, plus cozy places to relax, nice snacks and a lovely gift area. A must visit for seekers or followers of faith in the western Michigan area.

I absolutely love this place! When I was a kid I would spend hours listening to their sample music. As I grew up I began appreciating the large selection of literature. Then when I started Bible School I couldn't get enough of the discount and used books sections. I have enjoyed meeting authors and sitting in on free lectures hosted by Baker. When I moved away from Michigan one of the things that I missed the most about Michigan was this store. There is nothing else quite like it that I have found.

There is no way that I hated this place! Quite the opposite, my husband purchased a Bible for me, a nice, leather covered one and expensive. The binding fell apart and some pages came loose. Baker Book House replaced that Bible with no problem! They were great. I will shop there for any reading materials.

This is the gold standard for Christian bookstores. The biggest selection of books, Bibles, music, cards, gifts, and children's books. The staff are some of the top experts in the country in their specialties, particularly in fiction. (Ask for Chris.) The Bible section is very large and comes with expert staff and they will do personalization (imprinting) on the Bible covers. They have an enormous selection of used and classic books, they regularly buy pastor's entire libraries. A beautiful, fairly new store after a remodel. Coffee shop is excellent, and they have meeting rooms for groups. There is nothing quite like it, and I have been in hundreds of Christian bookstores.

It was okay. We went there to find new Bibles and not one representative approached us to offer assistance. We did get notified of the time when it was 15 minutes until close, and even then we weren't offered assistance. The selection is massive, organized and a fairly clean store. The customer assistance was disappointing.

I came to Baker specifically looking for a Bible for teenage girls. I asked one of the ladies there if she could show me what they had. She was extremely helpful showing me the various options they had to offer and took a real interest in my search and what I picked out. I just love this store! It is a Christian book store and more. The more is that they have a beanery on sight too, so you can get a good cup of coffee, find a book you want to preview, and relax in an easy chair, drink your coffee and read a book! They carry a HUGE selection of books to meet almost any person's reading pleasure. I ended up purchasing myself a new ESV Study Bible and a student bible for a graduating teenage grand child. We started giving a bible and $50.00 when our grand kids started graduating from high school so that they would have something to read while in college! Oh, and the pricing at Baker Book House is about average for a book store. Stop in for a visit, and I bet you will like this place too. :>) Happy shopping!

Took my grandkids there last summer for the Reading program. They loved it. And were able to get something at the end of the program. The Princess/Prince party was held twice during the summer reading program. They also had an adult reading program that I was a part of. I got a travel coffee mug as a reward. My grandkids thought it was cool that I was reading along with them. We did the summer reading program again this summer.

Don't expect to find anything for your Sunday school children's ministry. There is a small section of curriculum, some stickers, and a Noah's Ark. That's about it. Far more "pop" books and "Christian kitsch" than serious academic volumes. There is a huge used-books section, also a section of significantly discounted new books that does include serious theological works -- overstocks and shop soiled, I assume. Baker is a publisher itself (even of serious theological works), but they sell other publisher's books as well. Except for occasional sales, expect to pay full list price for most new books. There is also a coffee shop.
