Wonderful store! I bought too much! Okay, not really too much, but they had a great manga selection as well as all around great books! Oh, and there's a kpop section, too!

We went here to exchange some books my son received as gifts. He was able to find some suitable replacements. The register attendant was nice enough to let us use the membership discount of the person who originally purchased the gift we were exchanging which was a plus! I was a little bit bummed that the section in the store containing games was downsized and removed. There is a game section for kids upstairs, but the section with adult board games had been removed. We will likely shop here again for books in the future.

The different book sections are not posted/very well visible, and the arrangement of the aisles is on the first floor is sporadic and confusing. Nice assortment of toys and hobbies on the second floor.

The Clive Barnes&Nobles is one of the best ones I have been to so far! With 2 stories, escalators and an elevator this place is very ADA friendly even has a ramp to get to the Star Bucks Café. There is a little bit of everything, OK a whole lot of everything for everyone. If you haven't been to this location yet, What are you waiting for? The staff there is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Go check it out!

The best bookshop to ever exist. I wish to work there someday. Working there would be a dream come true. Everyone who works there is so pretty. I love reading, some people may even call me a bookworm. I even read game of thrones before watching the show. I hope one day to become a writer. To see my book in a Barnes and nobles would be the coolest thing ever.

This is the first time I've been there. I was wondering if they had a New York paper which the nice Lady said they get it on the weekends which makes sense. New York is a long ways away. My wife has gotten quite a few books in the past and never said anything negative about the place

Always my favorite B&N to visit! The staff is super helpful, they have far more selection than the sites you see in the malls, and the Cafe is top notch! There's also an awesome Cajun restaurant right next door that is well worth the visit (The Laughing Crab)!

This store is so cozy! I love that it has a second floor. The second floor is mostly dedicated to children books and toys. It's pretty much the same as most Barnes & Nobles. If you love books and a relaxing atmosphere, this is your place.

It's a book store so it has my heart already. The problem I have is 90% of the books I want they do not carry in person. Yes I could order them but then again they are also 4 dollars or more then alot of other places. If they had more in store so when I need a book quick I can grab it I wouldn't have canceled my gold card. I searched 23 books on my way here and they had one in person to grab.

The biggest most bestest B&N I have ever been to. So many books, games and STEM projects to look at upstairs. They hand out Starbucks beverage samples and offer a $1 off coupon for a handcrafted beverage I take advantage of everytime I go and still am able to use my B&N member card for an extra discount.

Cedar Rapids mall on university in Iowa! The Barnes and Noble had a rare selection of manga. Mall was beautiful and huge at 3 floors and numerous shops open.

Books are organized nicely and in fun categories at times. Staff are always ready to help find what you're looking for. Look out for great deals on books- I've gotten multiple 400+ paged classical books for only 8 dollars each! The smell of coffee, new books, and calming atmosphere will never bring a bad trip upon Barnes and Noble! ☺️

This Barnes & Noble is two floors. There is a Starbucks on site, though, not a traditional Starbucks so they will have some things, but if you're with a child, no they don't have cake pops...I didn't care either way but my 7 year old was highly offended. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Masks are more of a suggestion. 90% of the populace (this observation does not include staff) in the store are not wearing them, a few customers were... I'm merely sharing observation. There is plenty of parking, although during certain hours it can get very congested.

Barnes and Noble is the only new books bookstore that still exists around here. They have a large selection of books and games for sale, and their children's area is very good. Unfortunately, like most physical stores that specialize like this, their quality had decreased some in the last ten years or so. They used to have areas to sit and read, and a wider variety of books. While they have a lot of games now, this and the unnecessarily large Harry Potter area means they have had to trim several other book categories. Also, when we last went here, they had closed their Starbucks early with no explanation, which was odd. TL;DR While I still like going here, it's less good than it used to be.

Went in looking for a specific book but decided to browse the store. Lots of great books across all topics. Was not able to locate my book so I went to ask the lady at the customer service desk if she would be able to help me locate a book. She didn’t even say anything to me just looked at me with a nasty expression like I was bothering her. She said normally the checkout counter does that and said in a very rude tone “that’s why there’s a sign.” I didn’t see a sign but it wasn’t a big deal for me to walk to the other counter. She offered to help me, but it seemed like an inconvenience for her and I didn’t want to talk to her anymore from how our interaction was going. The older gentleman at the checkout counter was much more helpful and nice! I don’t know if it’s because I’m a younger person that she felt it was ok to talk to me like that because she’s older, but I know it wouldn’t fly at my work if I talked to customers like that.

Nice, warm and welcoming place to read and buy books. Better than the cold online only stores (e.g Amazon). I highly recommend anyone to try and visit this Barnes $ Noble store in West Des Moines, Iowa or any other Barnes & Noble store countrywide. Thanks also for having the Waukee Elementary School Instrumental Band to perform Christmas music at the Upstairs lobby (on December 3rd 2021 Friday evening) something that Amazon cannot offer.....that is, the community connection experience. Amazon cannot replicate this experience with their just online way of shopping. Forever grateful to Barnes & Noble bookstore for their community presence.

They had the best section of manga i have ever seen in a bookstore amazing selection and prices! I ended up buying 8 books for only $100 which is an amazing price for mangas considering they dont have sales usually I am glad that i got my manga from here!

Barnes and Noble is a great place to buy books. The prices weren't to high and customer service was great. I would recommend this place even if you don't want to buy a book. You can go in and read. Plus, Barnes and Noble has electronics, board games, and toys. Barnes and Noble is the best place to shop for books! I could go on and on about the pros of this place like for example they have one in almost every city. You should go and try this place out. I think you would like it.

Place is great and the staff is super helpful. The lady working at the cafe was a little rude with her tone when I tried to pay with my Starbucks app. You can kindly inform customers you don't take that form of payment without making them feel bad. If you work customer service you need to learn how to explain things in a friendly way. Other than that - this location is awesome.

The store is huge and the people are really nice and helpful. An enormous assortment of titles and a lot of promotions too. Many classics with REALLY accessible prices. The only thing I would change is the positioning of "romances" like Fifty shades and the like, which are right in front of the escalator you have to take to get to the children's books section (I found that a tad worrying). Apart from that, it's extremely clean and very well organized, it's very easy to find the books you are interested in.

Historically, this has been one of my favorite book stores, and it still is. The contents within has changed over time, with fewer technical books that I used to (and still do) love. However, they seem to have an increased emphasis on games, puzzles, journals, and "bargain" books in recent times, which I sometimes also have interest in purchasing. They still have a good emphasis on new & bestselling books as you enter, and the rest of the selection is well organized. Their cafe with Starbucks coffee and treats is also something that I enjoy. The store does have a good music selection also.

Fantastic selection. Plenty of spots to sit and read. The coffee shop has a solid selection. The staff is always eager to help. They have a great selection of board games and collectibles. The magazine tracks are plush with a wide variety to choose from. Bathrooms are very clean. They have a decent music selection.

I love bookstores and this is a great one to get lost in. The selection doesn't seem to be as comprehensive - there were about 3 books I was actively looking for that they didn't have in stock, but I was fine with browsing around. Great displays of current titles, giant section of interesting books that are discounted, and two levels full of books. I'm sure I will stop by again soon when I have a few hours to myself to peruse the aisles.

Love spending an entire afternoon browsing and reading! However the music played here is very distracting! I wish they would switch to ambient music only not soft pop with lyrics. Yikes! Truly it is the one thing at this bookstore that makes me want to leave sooner rather than later. Also there are only 2 comfortable armchairs in the entire store. There’s plenty of space for more. The hard wooden “study” tables and chairs are extremely uncomfortable.

Barnes & Noble is pretty cool. I've gone there since I was a kid if I want to get new books. The people working there help me find the books I look for. They have many different variations of products. We have gotten board games and movies. Music as well. It's cool and would recommend.

I was really pleased to see more children's books revolving around the actual holiday featured! Usually, books about Spring, Winter, etc. have oftentimes trumped the Holiday. I loved the large selection of Best Sellers and Award-winning books on the main level! My favorite day for "just me, " is at Barnes and Noble!

I couldn't find a Julie a child cookbook I was looking for for my mother's birthday, but the young lady who helped me knew exactly what I was looking for and had additional information about Julia child, which I thought was impressive. The store is also very well kept and has a huge selection.

Busy time when I arrived and everyone that could help me was busy with other customers; to be expected this time of year. I got an employee passing by (hopefully he wasn't enroute to break or bathroom) and asked if he'd help me find a book. I felt the need to be discreet about the title I wanted and asked if there was another way to find it besides title or author. I happened to have the ISBN and off we went in search of the book I needed. He confirmed the book with me and informed me none of the close B&N had the copy, my luck it was also too late too get it in time by the day required...he however helped me find an older version of the book that will suffice until I can buy the one I wanted first hand. Because of my luck here in the past with finding difficult titles; I was hoping, but also fairly certain it wouldn't be there. It was great to see, that even dealing with unreasonable people all day, the person helping me did so with smiling eyes and gave no reading of irritation. I have included a picture of one I found here that surprised me.

Yes, we can order by books online. Yes, we can borrow from the local library. But it does a book lover good to browse the aisles, thumb the pages, smell the fresh baked goods and hum along to the tunes during a pit stop at Barnes and Noble. The staff is helpful and eager (99% of the time) in locating a title you only have a passing recollection of. Plus, it's just fun to imagine you might actually read everything on your wish list.

Stopped in today to buy a mystery, and a crossword puzzle dictionary. The lady from the information desk was outstanding (if I knew her name I would definitely give her kudos)! Went directly to each section and made my choices, then stood in line for ten minutes waiting to check out. When it came my turn, the cashier at 'my' check out point had to go do something, so I had to wait a couple more minutes to pay my tab. I didn't really mind, as I was in no hurry, but then that cashier was a sour-pus who couldn't even smile! Oh well ... "four" stars instead of five.

Employees are friendly and helpful. If you are coming for something specific employees are willing to walk you right to the section you are looking for. When I was there they had multiple activities going on for the kids. In addition to books, they sell numerous toys (legos, puzzles, stuffed animals ect.) Great place to shop

The only problem I have with this Barnes and noble is that most of the books have tears or aren’t kept in good condition. I am really OCD about my books and I like to have them in perfect condition. Anytime there is a tear on a cover they will take 10% off but it doesn’t do much because tax gets added afterwards. I appreciate their variety of books but I believe the books could be cared for a bit better.

I really liked this place. Its got a caffé inside and people seemed pretty friendly with me, however even though I liked the appearance and all lets not forget why we come here which is the books. Its got plenty of books for some subjects but lacks in some areas which are sadly the ones that I enjoy reading about such as history. But other than that it's a good place and I recomend checking it out. Also if you need gift ideas this is probably a good place to look.

It's a typical Barnes and Noble. The books are expensive, but you're paying full price. I'd recommend finding a local store like the shop in Beaverdale if you want to pay full price. Otherwise, hit up Half Price Books. B&N is where I go if I have to have the book immediately.

Barnes and Noble has been a welcome retailer for a long time now - although Amazon is superior in several ways, B&N offers the immediacy Amazon does not; they offer a focused retail environment, and the availability of niche items, such as signed 1st editions or just the ability to purchase a single magazine to check out (rather than a subscription), & certainly more beyond that, that keeps them relevant and competitive.

Books, books, books, books, toys, kids books, science stuff, vampire books, puzzles and bargain books. I picked up 3 huge books in special hardback covers for 💲5.95 each. If there's a books, series of books or specialty item, these guys prolly have it. Plus you can get a coffee and a strawberry cookie (like floating on a fluffy cloud). And WiFi...I think cause there's lots of peeps on their laptops here...so they must have WiFi. Right. If you have questions there is a help kiosk by the escalator...they know lots. Now go find a good book to read.
