I came here on an early Sunday afternoon on a trip to Columbus. The local comic shop owner in my town recommended it when I told him I was taking a trip there. I really liked the selection here, and the way the store was organized. Plus the store employees were really helpful and friendly. I really recommend coming here if you’re a comics fan living or passing through the Columbus area. It was a bit out of the way of where I was staying, but it was very much worth the trip.

I come here whenever I'm looking for comics or any kinds of cool books! It's my absolute go-to! The staff is friendly and helpful. I recently came to get a picture book for my nephew I had previously bought for myself. I wasn't sure if they'd have it and they did! I highly recommend shopping here!

Separate area for all ages books. I shop here every week and so should you. And I don’t even live close by. But it’s on my way to work and my kids’ school.

It’s strange for me to give Laughing Ogre 5/5 because my favorite shop in the area did not get such a high review. But, as I sit here I can not think of anything I would actually change about their operation. Customer service has always been great, selection of new comics is noteworthy, they have a fantastic selection of graded collectibles and a decent space to browse the back lot. Oh, and that kids’ section right up front is a brilliant touch. I think it’s the best looking kids section in a comic book I’ve seen relative to the size of the shop. I do have preferences for other shops, but I guess there’s just something missing I haven’t figured out yet. Highly recommend for young readers and experienced collectors alike.

Massive TPBs and plenty of new Comics. If you are looking for a Trade or New Comics around Columbus, this should be the first place you visit. There are also a decent amount of back issues (didn't see anything graded). It's clean and organized with plenty of space to browse.

Very welcoming, I love the staff picks section. If you're someone that struggles in social situations, they are a little...bold right up front. Nice, but bold so prepare for that. They don't hover around you constantly, though, which is good.

I was visiting from out of town with my 6 year daughter and we generally shop at a comic shop on a trip. Laughing Ogre stood out for several reasons! First- Right up front they have a large young readers section that is organized beautifully and very inviting. My daughter talked about that section for the rest of the day! Second - The Trade paperback section is huge! Third - There are staff picks all along the top of the trade section and you can tell the staff are really invested in the content. Fourth - The staff. My daughter was given stickers by one employee and the gentleman behind the counter talked with me for 5-10 minutes about the area and knew many of the shops in MY area, very knowledgable! Thanks Laughing Ogre!

One of the cleanest and most organized comic shops in Columbus. I love coming here. They have so many books and current issues, plus a few boxes of older issues to look through. Highly recommend!

The Laughing Ogre is a local bookstore but for comics. It sells comics and comic related items, not magic cards and not board games; which is great there are other shops in the same area that do both AND it keeps the vibe of buying Magic the Gathering singles away, which is a very weird and kinda loud vibe. Case in point: when entering the Ogre you feel compelled to hush your voice like you're going into The Book Loft or even Half Price. People are quietly reading and discussing their hobby This is not true of, say, The Soldiery next door. I say this as an avid patron of both places. I say all this up front to make sure this message gets across: this is the best comic store in the city by far. Their staff have one focus: comics. They have more space for the one thing they sell: comics. The variety and quality and cleanliness is, bar none, the best of any shop I've been to in Columbus and it's all because they've managed to cultivate this atmosphere and purpose by doing one thing exceedingly well. They are a book store for comics. It's incredible. Update: all this still holds true. I make it a point to not bring my phone in and just enjoy my time.

This is by far my favorite comic shop. I drive about an hour to come visit, even though there are other shops closer. I've been cooking here for the better part of a decade, and will continue to do so. Knowledgeable staff, and they're respectful to all patrons. Every time I'm in the mood for something new or different, there's always someone on staff that's able to recommend titles based on what I'm in the mood for and preferred art style. Highly recommend. I wish I could give them more than a 5/5

Boy, I'm slacking in my reviews. I should've left one for Ogre 9yrs back when we moved to Columbus. This is where I have my first hold-bin (been collecting comics for 40 yrs now). Gib, Lauren & staff are always friendly, helpful & kind. Their new selection is vast & the old stock is deep. In my humble opinion, it's the best comic shop in our fair city. As for the hillbillies leaving one-star reviews about masks, ignore their reviews. Ogre, like my shop, like hundreds of other small ma & pa shops in Columbus, were following a mask mandate enacted by our Mayor.

Fun store! Lots of brand new comic titles to peruse. A pretty nice selection of Comic book character statues and figures. Statues were a very good price! Only cons for me, was the back stock comic prices. While a nice selection, it seemed that $4.25 was a lucky number or something. Some books a great deal, majority were not. New monthly titles aren't bagged, so expect a whole lot of spine tics and folds. Overall? Be sure to stop by. Very friendly, kid friendly and just a different store!

I was blown away by the selection and by the friendly and helpful staff. I expected Marvel and DC. I was pleasantly surprised, though, that they also had lots of comics from other publishers, quirky graphic novels, and even a selection of homegrown comics made by local artists. I brought a long list of things I was interested in, but the staff member who helped me didn't even bat an eye. She helped me find everything I was looking for!

Wonderful comic shop and knowledgeable staff. A very comforting environment for BIPOC, Queer, and/or disabled people. Selection is vast and better than you'll get at the Book Loft for comics and manga. (Was personally happy to see Trung Le Nguyen's "The Magic Fish" on display, as well as the Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples' Saga collections) They also have a nice selection of merch for comics and anime, with a few posters. (Good music playing too) They doubled down on showcasing queer works and authors lmao. Still 5 stars

Took a trip to Columbus and had to check out this shop. Clean and inviting shop that had a HUGE variety of trades and new books, and a decent inventory of back stock and older books. The staff was very polite and helpful with finding certain books as well. I also was very impressed with the selection of kids comics and book for my daughters. I love this comic book store! Great employees that are friendly and helpful! This is one store in my area that has had the popular comics when some other stores are out! I enjoy their back issue section as well! I've found several comics that I've been needing to complete a few series! I highly recommend this store to comic lovers and friends!

This is hands down the best comic book store I have ever been to. They are so knowledgeable, and so incredibly nice. I'm new to comics, and they always make me feel welcome, and help answer all my questions. I can't say this for most other comic book stores I've been in. They have a fantastic selection, it's always neat and clean, and again--they are so nice. Definitely worth a visit. Don't just buy from Amazon. Go chat with these lovely people--you'll be glad you did.

There are a plethora of comics, graphic novels, and Manga here. If you are looking for Pop collectibles, this is a great place for that, too. They also sell local works too! I have difficulty finding Daredevil in other places around town, but not here...except for that one issue that just keeps eluding me.

This is a fantastic comic book store! It's large, with tons of merchandise that's laid out well with room to move! There is so much to browse, and they even have graphic novels and trades categorized by creator, which I think is pretty cool because even a seasoned comic reader might be surprised at what a favorite has wrote across multiple companies. The staff was nice. They had local creators actually drawing near the back when we came in. And, in the same building is the Solidery, a great game shop! So you have so much to see in one trip.

Nice and clean comic shop in a strip mall located close to restaurants. Excellent selection of comics, I was impressed with the variety of titles available, nice collection of graphic novels as well. Lots of independent and some local authors. Parking was fine, although you need to pay attention when backing out. Was good to see a good flow of traffic coming in and out.

I was headed to Columbus for the day and I searched for "best comic shop Columbus, OH" Laughing Ogre was the first result and the highest rated for the search. When I got there, it was brightly lit, it was clean, and a very warm/inviting environment! The selection was mind boggling! The young ladies working there were polite, courteous, and helpful beyond my expectations! When I asked about a small or minimally circulated book, they exhausted several avenues trying to find this book that was no where to be found. While I was upset the book was not available, the disappointment was quickly replaced with appreciation. For the lengths they went to trying to find it. Next time I am in Columbus, I will be hitting this shop again, guaranteed!

The Laughing Ogre has a wonderful selection of comics, graphic novels, collectibles, etc. My husband and I have spent so much time searching through every row and box. This is a great place to pick up some comics. They also carry graphic novels among other types of books and accessories. I also liked their section of POP! figures to choose from. They also offer a fairly large kid section to browse through. Definitely an added bonus shopping for the young fans too. Check them out!

Good comic selection, and nice staff. Pretty much only comics and collectables though, which of course isn't a bad thing if that's what you're looking for. I was hoping for table top stuff. There is another store kind of hidden in the back of the same plaza that does sell board games and table top gaming stuff. It's not quite as nice of a store though.

I've been visiting this place infrequently for 16 years. I like the selection of comics and collectables. Yet, I have never once found the service to be "exceptional". Unless you are a regular, you are all but ignored and treated like your questions are an inconvenience. I wish it was different, but this has been the case on all but one of my visits. This place has lost out on thousands of my dollars due to sub-par customer service

The best organized and operated comic shop I have had the pleasure of shopping at. As a parent I noted and appreciated the kid appropriate materials up front and consolidated in one place. The shelves are large and easy to scan. The all-female staff was exeptional and refreshing to see. I have a younger daughter whose growing interest in comics has increasingly led to asking about writers, artists and characters. So it will be nice to show her a shop too.

Love this place, always greeted when I come in. Appreciate their support of the Ohio SciFi marathon. Large selection of comics, I believe they do pull service though I no longer get comics regularly. 😥 However, I do get trade paperbacks from time to time either for myself or gifts and they have a great selection and the staff knows where to find it if you have trouble. They also carry a huge selection of Funko figures as well as other figures. They have a kid friendly section in the front a have a nice collection of graphic novels of classic literature like Alice in Wonderland.

The best comic shop in all of the Columbus area. At least that's my opinion. I've been to several others over the years but this one seemed to be the most organized and offer the biggest selection of titles. All the staff are very friendly and are more than happy to help suggest a comic or find a specific comic for you. There is also a large amount of collectibles for sale here too. If you set up comic book pull, where you give a list of comics you want the staff to pull out of public stock and place into a personal bin for you, with at least 10 comics listed on that pull then you can get a 10% off discount on all purchases in the store. However, you have to maintain at least 10 comics on your pull and you have to pick them up on a regular basis, at least once a month at a minimum unless you work with the staff on a different schedule.

This is an Excellent Comic Book store, period. they have lots of back issues and methods for getting older comics if I needed them. I am not sure why William had a bad experience but it sounds like he may not have been talking to the right person. anyway I have had stellar Customer Assistance there and they pull comics for me free of charge as they come out every month. I am happy to call them "my comic book shop" when discussing them with others. Compared to a few other shops I have been in, in Columbus, they ahve been the most complete.

It was ok I guess. I'm not a comic book guy a was going along with other people because they wanted to go here. I did feel a little intimidated as I clearly was in a place I knew nothing about and call them comic books not graphic novels so you can already tell it perhaps more about me than the store. The place seemed quite large. The general area seemed in need of repair I thought. you could park out front which was good. There were quite a few people coming and going.

I love this place. It took some time for me to find a comic store I like and that treats me good. I am so happy I found this place. They have a great selection and if u have a pull list there they automatically pull the good variant covers for you. Some comic book shops use thier customers pull lists to know how many comic books they are going to sell to be able to order more books where they get special variant covers That are like 1 out of every 100 made and They take that special cover that they got (from thier customers being considerate and telling them early what they want to buy) to charge 50.00 for a comic that came out that week. It's really uncool and laughing ogre does not do that. The give those special comics to thier loyal customers for cover price

I have been going to the Laughing Ogre since well, forever. I used to have a pull there in the early 2000's and it's probably one of my favorite places in columbus! I have met the owner And he is so nice! He likes Elfquest too so he is automatically cool! They have an awesome selection of all different comics, including independent comics and manga. They also have toys, figurines and other interesting collectibles. The prices are good, there are a fair amount of back issues and the staff is friendly.

I am used to Elite Comics in Overland Park, Kansas, and the expertise that is there on everything. I was on vacation and found the Laughing Ogre Comics online. I was pleasantly surprised on how clean, organized the store was. Those are two big things when I check out a business. Also, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, great place to find the comics you want. And if they don't have it they can get it within a few days. We came back again this year (2013) and Laughing Ogre, well, it is still awesome.
