This place is absolutely great! My son loves coming here at least a couple times a week when he visits from D.C. during school breaks and summer. Wednesday's, when the new releases come out is a must visit and the staff is always great, cheerful and ready to help! As a real estate advisor living and working in this area, this is one of the places I often refer to my clients with kids or even those who enjoy the comic book genre themselves. For me, the joy is coming here with my son and just sharing that experience with him while getting a new superhero lesson in the process! lol In either case, great job Chicago Comics Team and thank you all for providing a great experience for all to enjoy!!! From the perspective of a tourist - I love this place and I'll most likely continue visiting everytime I'm in the area. They have several big selections of self published and small publisher graphic novels, which is a huge draw for me. I'm not big on Marvel / DC but they do have a decent selection of superhero comics too, both new and old. I felt like I hit the jackpot in their Collections (?) section - basically it's an entire bundle of a completed series for one flat price. I got 2 big bundles for 10 bucks total - awesome! Naturally there's also neat gift-y type knick knacks, figurines, and books as well. For example, there's a whole shelf of weed genre books. I always love checking out what pins they have, personally. My one and only gripe was that they don't have a public bathroom - but hey, I understand. It be like that sometimes! It just sucks because I would have browsed for much longer if I had the option to relieve myself.

Really nice little shop on the north side of Chicago. All the new issues you could want and a good number of back issues too. They also have a large number of graphic novels and some pretty rare stuff. Well maintenence and organized.

Popped in here on a whim and found it to be a very cool comic book store. Lots of fanbased trinkets and books. Many comic books, good selection, and even a good discount rack. I bought 3 books which I'm very excited to read. Also very lgbtq+ friendly and I felt very welcome there. They even had a section dedicated to lgbtq+ books and comics. It was great.

Chicago Comics is an institution. They have a wide variety of new comics and back issues, trade paperbacks and hardcovers (omnibus), they also have a well curated and extensive independent comic book section. The workers are knowledgeable and friendly. They also have sundry items of a comic or media descent. As a kid I got Kingdom Come signed by Alex Ross there in the 1990s.

Beautiful place with lots of zines, comics, and books. Full of different things, definitely brimming with something for everyone. Gets a bit overwhelming because there's so much to look at! But a hidden gem for sure and so much bigger than expected.

Many comics to peruse but, little in the way of silver age comics pre-1968. Whilst the assistant was helpful in pointing me in the right direction, she did not know why similar 'premier' comics were priced the way they were. General comic knowlege appeared to be missing. I would however, return to what was the best comic shop that I found during my 2022 visit to Chicago.

Love this store. I'm not a big comic person besides watching the Marvel movies, but this store makes it so nice to go in and get birthday/Christmas presents for my brother who does love them - and I get to support local. I also just like wondering around since they have a nice atmosphere and some really cool items. The have a little section in the back with books from local authors and small publishers which is cool to wonder through.

Awesome selection of comics! And the employees are semi friendly. My only complaint is that their wall of goodies behind the counter need bigger price stickers so the staff doesn’t have to take each book down one by one so customers can get a closer look.

Ive been visiting this shop for decades and as a comic collector for most my life I must say that Chicago Comics is great. They always have their new books in stock in multitudes as well as having a healthy stock of back issues that are constantly changing. Their crew are friendly & knowledgable. Parking is always available which is nice. Highly recommended for any comic collector.

I stumbled across this cute little local shop. Here's the thing, I do not know anything about comic books but I still thought this place was great! They have tons of unique things and local comic books. They even sell non comic book items. It was overall a cute store with tons of stuff. Also super friendly staff!

I really like this comic shop. Everything's well organized, it's bright, they have a lot of local mini comics, and there are plenty of interesting non-book fandom items to browse at the front. Also, the employees are really cool, especially the woman at the front that my friend and I talked to on November 1st. You're great, so keep doing what you do!

This is a great shop to pop into for a copy of any pop culture magazine that one may have missed. They always carry unique items and they play great music. The staff is very helpful and friendly and can order any random item of one's choice. This is an excellent shop.

Good selection of comics and collectables, staff was very nice and knowledgeable, guy behind the counter was able to answer all my questions satisfactory. We we're looking for Godzilla stuff for my son and even though they had a few items the guy was willing to order me some from their site. Very happy we stopped by and will definitely be back if I'm ever in the Chicago area again.

Being a native New Yorker and having comic shops like Forbidden Planet and Midtown Comics, I was expecting to be greatly disappointed with the comic book shops scattered around Chicago. Fortunately, I stumbled onto Chicago Comics and it blew my mind! The staff is incredibly intelligent and informative...and most importantly customer friendly. The collection of local independent artist's comics and big name comics made me stay in the store for hours, browsing each and every shelf. This is my new home for everything comic book related and I couldn't be happier!

Excellent vintage back issue selection. Polite, friendly. They don't treat their shop as if it were a museum, or area 51. They don't follow you throughout the store. I highly suggest for fantasy lovers to shop here! You won't regret it!

This was my first time going to this shop. I absolutely loved it!! The amount of golden, silver, and Bronze age comics is unreal. This shop is just amazing and all around fantastic. I will definitely plan another trip again soon.

I am not a comic collector or reader, but I wandered in and really enjoyed looking around. Spoke with the owner a bit. Sounds like they have everything you need! On top of comics they have loads of graphic novels, which were more interesting for me, and memorabilia. Really fun to just peek around and see what they have. Would be the place to go for comic books.

This shop is incredibly well stocked and has a lot of merchandise to choose from. I was able to find the Walking Dead Compendium 3 there, which I have never seen at another store. The only downside is pricing. This place is a little on the expensive side.

I love going to Chicago Comics. Tuesday is their buyback Tuesday when they have a buyer in the house. As for me, I am no aficionado of vintage comics. However, I love to read them and have started collecting them again since moving near to Chicago Comics. They have a great selection of graphic novels, trade, and all the other varieties of book you are likely looking for. They have great discounts on overstock, a section of art books, an adult/offbeat section, and a courteous staff. Whenever one of my stories has a new issue, I am always more than happy to head on over to the store.

When we found out we were staying at a hotel a block away for a concert we knew we'd end up at Chicago Comics. The store is huge but feels small because they have SO MUCH AWESOME inside. My favorite things: they pre-package whole series/arcs in easy to grab and identify bags for a huge discount so if you heard about some off the wall thing like Great Lakes Avengers you can easy grab the ENTIRE SERIES for about $2 a book and be able to enjoy the entire thing without having to hunt for that one missing edition from 9 years ago. They also have a huge backstock of books, a number of custom items made just for their store, and the staff was awesome looking up a few things on my hunt list, and even better, having some of them in stock!

It's a cool store with lots of options but I feel like the staff isn't quite as available as in other comic book stores in the area. The flipside is that it's probably the one of the largest stores in the area, so if you're looking for a specific gift item or comic book and can't find it, it's probably here!!

Comics from around the world! So many graphic novels! You might run into Alex Ross or Hillary Barta just buying some comics. Go with a full wallet.
