Reviews of Pandemonium Books & Games
Sarah Diri
Any small, independent shop is going to be pricier than Amazon. And if price is the tipping point for you, you probably don't wanna shop here. But the staff are really great people. They won't push you to make a purchase, will readily recommend useful sites to look at other products. And the atmosphere of the shop is just super fun. They were very patient as I struggled to decide if I wanted to buy something or not, which probably was why I did! I now have a very nice set of cats eye math rocks (with a super nice case too!!), and totally plan on coming back for more.

Don't let the first floor fool you-- there's a huge downstairs level! The only bad thing about this place is that it can get pretty crowded in the basement. Other than that, great selection. I especially liked the selection of indie RPGs. Large clean bathrooms as well, which is always nice to find in a large city.
Rachel Alise
Love to support my FLGS! Great selection with local artist vendors during the holidays. I like that they provide masks while browsing.
Hassan Chehab
The best place in Camberville for geeks and geek needs! Right next to a ton of restaurants and shops. They also regularly host events for games. I like to browse their warhammer collection.
Thearon Helgeson
Loved this spot! It's tucked around a corner and easy to walk by, but it's worth stepping off the main path. They have lots of variety for games and books and tons in the basement, so don't be fooled by it's smaller upstairs space.
Chris “BostonGreekGeek” Vaxevanis
There aren't many boards game stores here in the US yet, as this hobby isn't as big as it should be. Those that do exist are great and feel like even better than they could be because of the scarcity. I've been to several stores like this around the world and always enjoy my visits. Prices at stores tend to be a bit more than you would find online, but you have to take into account the cost of it being in a brick and mortar store and be willing to pay a little more because it's more valuable than your typical online purchase. You get to view the box up close, and then leave with the have right after your purchase.
I like these stores better when they don't tend to be in basement stores and feel always like a forbidden hobby. Sort of how dnd has been for years. Played in basements and considered a creepy hobby. People are realizing that these hobbies are great and are becoming a bigger thing slowly.
This store also has a large section where people meet up for tournaments and such. Huge selection of DND material, magic the gathering cards or board games to add to your collection or for a quick game night.
Kyle McGrath
Pandemonium has the best sci fi, fantasy, and RPG book selection in town, including a large selection of used books, many long out of print. Their newly expanded basement retail space allows them to carry lots of cool third party stuff as well. They do cards and miniatures too. A regular rotation of clubs, tournaments, book clubs, and more supports a thriving geek community here.
Mario Russo
I'm not a board game aficionado, but the selection and size of the store really impressed me. There were also board game events going on in the basement that seemed popular, so definitely look out for that if your searching for gaming community

Guy allowed me in 45 mins before they were supposed to open and was really nice about it - Had the Packs i needed , and good price. A+ first visit for me
Gerald Broderick
I found this shopping experience to be extremely productive and upbeat with great staff.
I went in with a Cousin of mine from out of town that I hadn’t seen in years. It was his idea to go as, he is a MTG player and I used to be a Pokemon TCG player/collector back a few decades ago. I’m really glad I went to this store as it brought me back to a long ago time that didn’t feel long ago. This was my first time there, I was amazed at the size of the store exploring downstairs.
Ben was up front staffing the Checkout and he was extremely helpful, positive and just an all around good guy to just make your visit feel good. I also found the other staff there were just as polite and very reassuring whatever questions or decisions made, were really valued, and with a solid smile. I made a few purchases as my cousin did too, finding a graphic novel “Sandman”. I bought some PkmTCG cards and accessories for a gradation gift to a younger player I tutored Highschool for several years.
This place really is deserving of every good review that is posted here. I could say prices of merchandise is reflective of the fact you are closer to the city, but nothing that distant from what I’ve experienced at other nearby in the Boston area. Also, it really amazed me just how big of a tournament area is in such a dense area such as Central Sq. I have to say that store set a new level of quality and customer service I have very rarely ever seen.
Cheers to all the Staff and also to the other friendly Patrons of this shop! I see you guys doing a remodel too and wish you all the most wonderful for future decades of Enthusiast and Tournament Players.
John Wolcott
Very nice store and friendly staff. Store looks small at first but then continues downstairs and around a corner. Books and games of all sorts with gaming space. Lots of GW products and other war games also.
Gregory Robert
Neat little book and board game store with very friendly staff.
Keegan Parrotte
Best place for MTG in the entire Boston area and the employees love the game. One of them challenged me to mental magic once, but I'm too dumb for that, so they just gave me a promo out of pity. 10/10 my favorite place to gamble.
Augustus
This is a great local spot for games and collectibles! The staff was friendly and it was really fun to peruse the shop. Lots of good options across trading cards and board games.
Ben Bingham
Great hobby store - has been my location of choice for Magic: the Gathering since I started playing a decade ago. I can't speak for other hobbies, but the MTG community here is friendly and welcoming. Compared to other local game stores, prices are very reasonable.
Lily Smith
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you're a fan of wargaming.
Ben Calkins
Stopped by from out of town and was blow away by how friendly the staff was. The mtg person was super helpful and found my card right away. The store was very clean. If I'm ever in Boston again I'll be sure to stop by.
Abby
Incredible store for the board game addicts and fanatics! They have cheap, reasonable, and quite pricy board games. You can try a new cheap game, but I'd definitely advise trying out one of the pricey options to get the real value of what pandemonium sells. Beware D&D fans, for the lure of mini figures and one of a kind sets of dice will grab you here!
Alex Divinsky
Super cool shop with games, books, a huge station for painting minis and lots of gaming tables. Seriously, this place is LEGIT. Wish I knew of it sooner!!
Grayson Horner
This amazing community shop is far from the traditional stereotyped games store. Pandemonium Books and Games is an awesome little hangout spot that is amazingly inclusive. I spend time there at least once a day on my vacation to Boston.
This place has everything you need, and especially if that is getting introduced to a nice community of staff and shoppers. Nowhere else has it been so clear to me that staff love their job than pandemonium games.
Sally Buta
This is a fabulous game and book store. The staff are so thoughtful and helpful for choosing games and books. They went out of their way to listen to what we like and suggest new games. Big thumbs up.
Lauren Caylor
This store was very well organized with fair prices and such a diverse inventory. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
Russell Swinton-Murray
I came here looking for a holiday gift and found a great selection. They have games for the casual board gamer all the way to the die hard fans.
The clerk there was extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful to me and the few other people who were there as well.
The space wasn't crowded, and there was hand sanitizer at the door so it felt covid safe as well.
Josh Leipheimer
Best game store you’ll find on the east coast.
Jim L
Very well organized, clean game store that also has a substantial book selection. Carries a lot of non-mainstream RPGs along with the more popular titles. Extensive board game collection and great miniature selection (SW, GW, Reaper and Wizkids).
Enrique Lozano
This is a great local game shop. Has (mostly) attentive staff who seem to enjoy at least some aspects of the shop. Attended a MTG tournament and it was we'll run with a friendly judge and players. They carry good quality products and keep the prices reasonable enough that I shop here rather than Amazon. Recommend without reservation.
Lexi Fuller
Fun and awesome store to go to. The only thing is the downstairs doesn't always smell the best but it's understandable. It's a small crowded area so it can get hot easily. The game selection is vast and they typically always have the expansions as well. All in all a really fun place to get together with friends or just to go and pick up any games or cards you need/want.
Heidi
Fantastic game store. Stellar selection. Friendly, helpful staff. Quite a lot of play space for this area. I love the Pandy dice kits -- finally, I can get a set of D&D dice with enough D6's! And they're so affordable. A great one-stop-shop for gamers.
Bob Bersch
This is the best hobby shop I've been to in Massachusetts and Rhode island. They have a huge selection of roleplaying games and miniatures, not just dnd 5e stuff. They also have a large collection of board games, card games, puzzles and other side products and a selection of science fiction and fantasy books. This store really has it all.
Matt Davis
Best book and game shop I've ever encountered. Don't expect a Barnes and Noble sort of selection, but the staff is incredible, they offer unique and consistent events, and where else would you want to play Magic: the Gathering?
The last question was rhetorical.
Lucy Job
Man hooked us up with a board game that would have taken 114 months to get on Amazon
Alexandra Smith
What a cool spot. Came by to get a gift for a friend and left with the perfect miniature for my wizard. I'll have to come back for Adventurers League one night.
Lizandro Guzman-Alcala
I ordered a MTG bundle from here, it was shipped a day late, but they did help me in every way possible. I was also given a free gift for my wait, and the package still got here in time for our game night!
Will be ordering from here again soon.
Stephen Greenfield
Great place for nerds and geeks of every flavor.
Paul Robinson
Probably the best LGS in Greater Boston. Normally staff is super friendly and helpful. There is a shorter manager with a buzz cut that is super helpful and sociable. Definitely like to chit chat with him when I stop by, and there is a lady who normally is on register who is honestly one of the sweetest people. Super nice. Pandemonium has a great selection of RPG stuff too.
I go here quite frequently to purchase MTG cards and merch and I had a pretty unpleasant encounter with one of the workers. I went in a couple months ago to purchase a Zendikar Rising booster box and collectors box and I grabbed a loose cards cardboard box from the cabinet. When I noticed it was broken I tried to put it back and grab another one and 15 or so boxes fell on top of me. The worker at the time (Friday night ~3pm) flipped out on me and accused me of trying to steal the cardboard box... as I was spending close to $500 bucks on merch in the store. I bought my stuff and left, but that interaction left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. I've been back to purchase card boxes for Commander Legends and whatnot, but I still get anxious wondering if that guy is going to snap at me again.
For that reason I give this store 5 stars.
Drew Meger
Just a quick shout out to the Pandemonium staff, especially Ben. I totally boofed an order and Ben was able to fix my mistakes and I got order in the mail ASAP! This level of service really expands the definition of "favorite local game store" by miles and miles. Even if you cannot make it in to Cambridge, don't be shy about online ordering - this shop has their act together.
i. tully
Game selection is massive, but well organized. I wish that an employee had tried to ask if I need help though. Well over half the store is below the shop but it isn't exactly typical for me to go down to a store's basement.
I would have been more comfortable if an employee had asked if I need help finding something, if it was my first time visiting, and general hospitality questions.
Pricing was right at MSRP, similar to other local game stores.
Alec Martinez
This place is the bees knees. Even as a lover of RPGs, board games, and card games— every time I leave I feel like I’ve learned something new. Shout out to Eddie who taught us a college class’s worth of information on MTG in ten minutes— he’s great! My go-to for the hobby.
Ondrej Trecha
Strict on covid regulations (positively). My favorite store around with plentiful resources and helpful friendly staff. Wish to have more time to spend on B floor to play some games with local community:) looking forward to be back :)
Ian Howard
Excellent game store. The selection is very good and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Well laid out space as well. All around a wonderful store.
Brendan OSullivan
Amazing selection of games and literature. There's honestly something for everyone here. If you actively play, it's a treat too. The player base in their events rightfully have a reputation of being highly competitive, but since starting here I've seen them be extremely encouraging to newcomers and nothing but professional during and outside of events. Shop here for great deals and finds, play here to get better, but for competitive play possibly warm up / start elsewhere first and then graduate to here
SullyFubar
Place is awesome. I'm new to D&D but the owners wife (co-owner? Aka game dice curator) was a great help. She found the dice I was looking for and hooked me up with a few other things. I'm hoping I can come back on a Wednesday to check out D&D for beginners.
Melissa Chan
They basically have everything fun-and-games you could possibly be looking for. Lots of board and card games, as well as books and sets. Also have a refrehsment fridge, where you can buy cream soda. Lower level is cool for a pick-up game or to try a new board game your on the fence about!!! Nice community aspect.
Nelson Caetano
This place is a gem. A great selection of books, board games, rpgs, cards and comics. I was impressed by the selection of new and sometimes difficult to find boardgames. Great basement play space is an added bonus. Definitely check this out if you're in the area.
Kevin Osborn
Super friendly, helpful staff with lots of geek arcana! Miniatures, games, and a curated selection of the latest sci-fi and fantasy books.
Jasen Thomas
amazing place I go here for magic cards whenever I can (I went today and got one of there normal packs and got a planes Walker out of it) and there's always good ones they also have a very cool layout and amazing staff
Serena Facchinetti
I love this place! Not only it has one of the best books/cards/board games/figurine stock I've ever seen, but it also organizes a lot of events for people to gather and play. Moreover, there are lots of board games you can play before deciding whether to purchase them. It's definitely a gamer's paradise!
Connor Daniels
This place is located on the central train stop of the red line. Looking for some great activities this is the place. Dungeon and dragons is 5$ every Wednesday. The store owner Tyler is really nice to everyone. The staff know a lot about the store including magic the gathering cards and there prices. If you are looking for rarer cards this is the spot including eldrazi titans and the expensive jace for 500$. Authors come to sign books seeing there is a section for novels and books. Clean bathrooms two of them and large lower level with around 10-12 tables for games. I personally love the store and my experience is all to great.
Joe Yatsky
A two story game store...which is unusual and a gem, especially when you see all the tables set up for gaming events in the basement. That said, I feel like there was a massive rush on games recently as a lot of shelves were scarce and the selection had a lot of potential...but there needs to be more variety, much more!!! And maybe less books on the first floor 😇
Katherine Cargill
An excellent game store with great selection, staff, and used and new fantasy/scifi books. Some of the gaming groups have pretty serious nerds, which can be a feature or a bug, but the harassment and safe space policies here make it a good space to game in if you're ready for some serious gaming--and the store is a winner no matter who you are.
Bradford Clem
First time going in and I was amazed. Every board game you can imagine, and more. Really helpful staff. I asked for a good game for two people about to travel. They offered up a lot of games that I didn't know about and the staff were able to give a break down of each game. I feel like I made a good decision based on their advice.
Adam Ash
Huge and very welcoming. Had a really amazing selection of games and table top items, and a very lively bi-weekly (Wednesday and Saturday night) dungeons and dragons night able to accommodate well over 7 different groups.
Keating Tufts
This place is sleeve to your Magic Card, the tower to your dice, the monster to your energy. The fantastic demo library offers tons of tabletop and board game options. The retails section has tons of great party games and euro games.
Adam Ross
This place offers the best and most diverse tabletop experience in the immediate Boston area. Tucked in a corner close to some of Cambridge's best eateries and shopping, they run tons of events for a wide variety of games. If you're in town and need a Magic: the Gathering fix, Pandemonium has got you covered.
Really the 5-star rating is due to my experience with their Magic card buyer. They will deal for anything from in-demand playables to the rarest of oddities. They are fair, honest, and straightforward.
Jeremy Raynor
BEST GAMING STORE... PERIOD!!! Come play Warhammer 40k, Magic Cards, D&D or any of there HUNDREDS of games on the wall. Buy a good read or some new cards or figures. The extremely welcoming and open community will make you feel at home.
COME GAME UP!
Daniel Nichols
This store stands as the cream of the crop in the gaming retail industry, and has a fantastic niche literature selection to boot.
Board games, card games, role-playing games, strategy miniature games... I have never been to a better store, in any state.
It's a little cramped because it's Cambridge, but it's without question the best store of its sort within convenient travel from Boston, and without question the best store of its sort that I've ever been to, anywhere.
Lily Lu
The books & games store in Cambridge. The store is behind 7-11 and is huge with great selection of sci-fi, fiction, and comics. The basement level has many board games and an area that frequently hosts board game competition & nights. Owner is very friendly and helpful. It also can order games for you.
Karen West
The price for MTG cards is typically pretty fair, the staff is friendly and there is usually at least one person who knows what they're talking about for some game. The basement has some board game event going on in it almost every day, and it's never boring to watch.
Reinaldo Lainez
is good overall for board games and trading card games. It has a bit of a confinement feeling but as long as you're having fun you'll get used to it in no time.
On the books department they have Everything and more, authors signings and good discounts and events.
it has a bit for everyone.
Austin Wigley
Very friendly staff with a huge and well-kept catalogue of tabletop games, novels, and comic books. You can get supplies for assembling and painting your minis here, too. Several big events per week and a bulletin board at the bottom of the stairs with "LFG" notes and contact information as well as calendars for such events. If you have any questions, just ask anybody who works there.
Max Reinhold
Great store, lots of cool books, even some signed ones. I'm not a huge fan of how they run there magic events though. The one I went to started late and having people fill out there DCI numbers on the back of the receipt so the judge downstairs can input into his computer seams like an extra step. It could be more of an issue with the software they use but I'm sure they could come up with a better, more efficient system.

Store Details
When you first walk in you get a comfortable vibe of warmth and tranquility. Upstairs has big glass cases of Magic cards at the front desk that include the best standard, modern, and legacy cards. Upstairs also includes other card games, small games, and D&D books. Downstairs includes two small not claustorphoic rooms for D&D and other games. Downstairs also includes a large area for small and medium sized tournaments for Mtg, Yugio, Pokemon, etc (FNM, RPTQ, and PPTQ). Down stairs also has a large collextion of board games. over all this little store is amazing supplying all your game related hobby needs. Only problem is that downstairs can get a little crowded during tournaments.
Employees
The employees are great and are always ready to help in any way. You can also email certain employees for specific questions online.
Pandemonium is a great place and highly recommend going their if your in the area.
Pros: Many Magic cards and other tcg products, many D&D products, great books, tons of games, two bathrooms, room for tournaments and small games, and two week item hold policy,
Cons: can get crowded and bulk rares are not organized.
DunstanTheDude
Has. Great collection of table top games and accessories, and also hosts Magic and DnD sessions for beginners for 5 bucks! Great way to spend a night with friends and learn about the game!
Matthew Gray
Decent game store, pretty good book store. Their board game selection is good, but more often than not I find they're out of stock of the things I'm interested in. Their RPG, miniatures & CCG selection seems good, though I've only shopped their RPG stuff a little bit.
The basement (where they have gaming and the board game shopping) does tend to get a little uncomfortably odorous
Adam Darlow
Friendly staff, but very focused on experienced players of RPG and strategy games. Not only did they hardly have any games my family would enjoy (trivia or word based games), they didn't even have starter kits for RPGs.
Ann S
Probably the best board game store in Boston. It is spacious and organized extremely well. The book selection is fantastic. Downstairs is where the bulk of the board games and miniature supplies are kept, as well as the rooms for MtG events. They carry classic games such as Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Pandemic, but also Scythe, Arkham Horror and Game of Thrones LCGs, and Charterstone. Staff are friendly and typically know a lot about board games and MtG.
Mike Pureka
Decent store; Staff is not always very attentive, but they do a good job of maintaining a pretty good stock of various products (RPGs/Tabletop games) even though they don't bring the margins Magic does.
Muneeb Ahmad
Really good selection of board games!
Jack Vinson
Great source for game supplies (Magic, D&D, Pathfinder, Warhammer, strategic board games) AND the whole basement is devoted to game play, tournaments, etc. They also have a small collection of science fiction / fantasy / etc books. The staff are friendly, as are the customers.
Max S. Haberman
Their game nights are excellent with a ton of games available to sample, and they have an amazing selection of games to buy, ranging from casual to intense. It's also well-organized and clean.
Greg Archdeacon
I needed a board game for a Christmas gift, and called up Pandemonium after an exhaustive search. They not only had it in stock, but were willing to ship it to my destination. I had inadvertently called up a few minutes before they closed for the day, but Irenee was so nice and happy to help. She really went above and beyond. Thanks for saving my brother's Christmas!
Michael Kling
went there looking to introduce friends to mtg (and to get myself back into it), and the staff was super helpful! they were honest and didnt try to upsell me. A friendly environment plus an awesome selection makes the hour-long trip elworth it every time!
B S
What can I say... Pandemonium is a garshdarn gem of a place. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and darn good gamers. I am a adult who fell off the deep end on MTG about a year ago and this place has been a great training grounds. I especially appreciate Jamie who runs the events. They do a heck of a job and always make sure we are all having fun!
Thomas Krokeide (Thoxander)
Huge selection of games, all very nicely organized downstairs. Venue and tables for playing games, I found the staff helpful and friendly! One of the best stocked game shops in the Boston area.
SmooV
Staff is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Lots of community events for people interested in all kinds of games. Large selections to browse and lots of space for events. Love this place!
Nighel Cobb
The basement is where the magic is, there's so much more to this quaint looking shop and its a fantastic place to grab not less than 100 dollars worth of board games and expansions. (Speaking from experience)
Connor Clifford
Great store. I miss working so close to this store. Between renting a table with friends or going to weekly magic events this place is great. And the chocolate bars are surprisingly good.
Michael Andryuk
I've been going to Pandemonium for years and I love their selection of new and used role-playing games, as well as their cool selection of science fiction novels.. However, the downstairs gaming area is poorly ventilated and smells awful!
Recommended if you can hold your breath.
Calvin T
Great community, tons of space, lots of options, singles can be bought, events can be found, great place overall. You will be rejected if you do not play MTG, or D&D however.
Andrew French
I love Pandemonium. If you're looking for sci-fi, fantasy, or horror books or games (boardgames, collectible card games, or tabletop RPGs) in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area, this is the place to go. They have a fantastic selection, friendly and helpful staff, and a massive gaming area. They hold gaming events and book signings regularly. Tyler, the owner, is very knowledgeable and will happily give you reviews and recommendations.
Erin Turowski (IsThatAPortal)
Awesome selection of games, the basement is like a geek paradise. There is a big room in the back of the basement that is used for tournaments and game nights. Best board game store in the area!
Axel Ringwood
Looking to fill that void of neediness in your life? This place is your spot, a wide rang of cards, board games, books, dice, you name it can be found here. Not to mention a meeting for for game nights, whether it be MTG or whatever they're always having events here. Staff was OK, and not too helpful when I visited but it's a fairly busy spot, speaking of which one of the downsides is that you have to visit central square, try and not getting stabbed on your way here.
Manan Thakkar
Games are on the pricey side, but not unreasonable for a local game shop. It does feel like the store is being taken over by magic, which I'm sure is what some people like about it, but it makes their board game section a bit cramped.
Ryan Cooper
Staple of the New England Magic community for as long as I remember! Always look forward to playing here! Worth the 3 hours always!
Matt Slaughter-Katz (ledfox)
Pandemonium is a great bookstore/game shop. If you need MTG, dungeons and dragons supplies (including books and some miniatures) or are looking to get into a new game I recommend checking it out!
Chad Patterson
Maybe one of the finest game stores I have ever visited. The selection is incredible. The play spaces looked private and cozy. The staff was friendly. When in Boston, I will visit again.
Peter Craft
I came for th Dominaria pre-release, and my experience my be shifted based on how crowded it was. That being said the play area is downstairs in the basement, which exacerbates the tight feeling of the play area. I couldn't take a step without bumping into someone. It was also pretty stinky. I get BO is a endemic problem with magic players, but this was particularly bad.
On the good side, the store has an incredible selection of books and games. If you are looking for a specific game or rpg book I would check out Panda first. The tournament was also very well run and the judge was quite responsive.
Garrett Fitzgerald
Great selection of sci-fi and fantasy books as well as an excellent collection of tabletop games. I have had great experience with the staff and also enjoy the game events they host and the authors they big in.
David Jessop
A proper bookshop (for SF and Fantasy) with staff who love books (and complain they don't have enough time to read). Listening to their advice opens up new authors who you've not heard of - OK and can be expensive too. Their games are good too.
Michael Bowen
I played in the Standard mtg tournament and felt the players as a whole leaned towards the "Brewers" mindset of mtg players and not the toxic "Netdeckers".
The prize pool is not that great with 4-0 getting only $20 in credit 3-1 getting $12 and they never go over 4 rounds which makes your great build not win you as much or playtest enough.
The fact that the buyback policy is they give you 40-60% market value is a but too much in their favor but aside from nitpicking the culture and all formats being offered multiple times a week is good and seems to attract good people.
Peter Salem
Great selection, one of the best game stores in Boston.
Dustin Hickey
My experience with this place has only been with Magic:The Gathering but it is great for that. Downstairs is a good place for events and they have lots of Magic singles for pretty good prices. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Peter Targetdsq
My daughter bought Munchkin and I got this! Great store!
Robin Walters
Great little friendly local game store. They have a large downstairs area for gaming events like Friday night magic and nice selection of science fiction books upstairs.
Stephen Wood
Friendly staff offering a large range of different games and events. Only real downside is that events happen in basement, but they do a good job with temperature and space down there
Rowan Greenlaw
The store has an amazing selection of games as well as many types of gaming nights. I originally ventured in alone to try out a D&D one shot and now I go every week.
Shivika Nayyar
Super fun store and lots of good options for kids games. Enjoyed visiting a place like this after so long. I will probably skip amazon and visit here again when I need to buy gifts.

Pande's a bit hit-or-miss. I've had some fun times playing magic there, but they _really_ need to either expand or open up another location because their play space is nowhere close to big enough for the number of people they cram into it.
I'll also echo the other reviews on here that fault them for customer service. Someone working there was astonishingly rude to me over the phone. They've never been that bad to my face, but Juliana's review is dead on: In general their attitude towards customers is one of abject apathy. Maybe they figure they have enough custom that they don't need to try.
Brett Woofter
Updating my review because I learned of the proprietor's deceitful business practice - held a "save my business" fundraiser and used the money raised to buy out and shut down a competing store many miles away. No longer will I deliberately overpay for retail just cause it's local. Also it smells and magic cards are dumb
Matt Stone
A cozy game store with many tables for players, open box sharea-able board games, minis, gaming books, accessories and boxed games for sale - really a cool experience. Make sure not to miss the stairs down to the REALLY nerdy stuff!
jazzyv0n
Favorite place to chill and play mtg. Good prices, good prpducts and books. SO many events for SO many games and authors/ illustrators. Great staff and plenty of seating.
IronWolf
Tons of stuff for card games and table top. And having a play area is nice.
Daniel Vince
Best store for magic the gathering in all of New England!! Competitive players, helpful staff and more events consistently than any other store in a 150 mile radius.
D S
Large section of books and games! The staff was helpful and pleasant. There is also plenty of parking next to the building!
Michael Girouard
Pretty much the only brick and mortar game store in area so..... auto 5/5
Thriving and Diverse Gaming Community 10/5
"Management" and staff mean well but Clientele can be visibly exhausting to the deal with. */5
Jon Zoll
Has a decent selection of hardcore and casual games. Carries local games and games normally only available online. The gaming space caters to the hardcore. Can be intimidating to enter, especially with some of the smells.
Grayswandir
Good place with a lot of stuff, even I (I'm french) found some interesting things such as a box o' mystery with 1'000 random magic cards for $6. Unfortunately they didn't have the Librarian Space Marine figurine that I was looking for.
jordan goodwin (Vickvega82)
Fantastic store. Really nice dedicated game space in the basement. Staff is courteous and helpful. Prices are reasonable and the store is clean and well kept.
Caroline Rozendo
A very good variety of board games, card games and role play books. In the basement they host role-playing and board games on different nights. It's a pity the area downstairs smells and was very loud when I went there.
owen walsh
I came for my first War Hammer miniatures and left like a seasoned pro. Helpful staff, Wide variety, and reasons to go back for more.
Andrew Martin
It's okay for what it is... Yes, maybe one of the better stores, but I don't have much experience. So far, the people have been hit or miss. I'll update as I gain more experience, IF I continue to return.
Michelle S
You can try out games in the basement before you buy them. Much larger than the storefront would have you believe. They also have a sizeable book section. The basement smells like mold and sweat though.
Andrzej Dorywalski
A little disappointed by staff at store. Good selection od games but rather expensive. You know that service is not the best when you spend 30 min with no interest from people working there
Jam Gould
I play here regularly. The staff is friendly and helpful. They run events almost every night. Great for all levels of gamer.
PunkAndOtherStuff -
Friendly game store with great science fiction and fantasy reads as well. Well worth going through every now and then
Travis Hearn
Boston's go-to local game store. Better selection of CCG's than Comicazi (both events and merchandise), decent board game selection, and even a fantasy/sci-fi book section.
Juliana Casale
I couldn't find any used sci fi books downtown, so an apologetic shop clerk directed me towards Pandemonium. He was right on the money: their selection is respectable, and I'd happily spend hours perusing the shelves, except I got zero customer service while I was there. "How can I help you?" was replaced by indifference from a group of gamers across the room. Well, meh to you too?
Sean Sweeney
It's hard to find game stores any more, let alone good ones. This one is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful but not pushy.
Colby Homan
They have a great gaming space since they opened up their basement.

Lots and lots of minis and a large amount of books, came from north Mass and it was worth it.

Chris Johnson (CJ)
