This was an amazing, cute, fun little bookstore! There are so many nooks and crannies to explore. The staff was fun and helpful. There were lots of old and new books of every genre. Plus you can turn in your books for in-store credit! Highly recommended!!

Very large selection of all kinds of books, including an entire floor of nonfiction. Was able to find some really good fiction books, and also books to help me study Chinese. You're sure to walk out with a stack of books in your hand if you come here, and they're all for cheap prices!

Such a cute and quaint place. I love the staff picks. The store is well organized by sections, and alphabetical order so it is easily to find what you are looking for. They also offer a generous store credit if you want to trade in your old books.

Very pleasant people with a wide variety that has a surprising amount of niche topics covered. Very little in the way of rare or hard to find but this isn’t really the area for that kind of collecting; overall a very strong shop with clearly delineated pricing and friendly communication. Glad they’re back open. :)

Seems like it's entirely full-on romance novels (from a quick once over). Not what I was looking for in a used book store, but it's in business so I'm certain it's getting use.

Commenting is Dangerous

This is a great book store, with cool people working here. This is the kind of place that makes you want to just hang out and look around for forever. You can find so many great books of all kinds here. If you are looking for rare or old printings this is the place to go. The staff are friendly and fun to talk to, no woke, political correct stuff in here. It was the best experience I have had in a bookstore in a very long time. I will be going here from now on for my reading needs.

Good book organization and the person at the counter was very nice and looked up some books for me to see if they had them in stock. I felt the prices were pretty fair as well. The only thing I don't love about this store is the parking. The parking lot is pretty small with some odd spots.

Let me tell you how much I LOVED this shop. There is an immaculate selection of books, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, reading nooks, and great prices. I cannot stress this enough: go upstairs. The books up there are FANTASTIC. I got a lot of my interests, hobbies, and favorite genres well represented in this shop. Go in!

What a wonderful neighborhood bookstore! While visiting my parents our 8 yr old needed some new books. The staff was phenomenal in recommending books based on others he liked. The selection was great. We’ll definitely be back.

This is my favorite used bookstore in the Treasure Valley! The staff are always so kind and welcoming. The store is super clean and well organzied! The Children'' Book section is my favorite, full of beautiful like new books. I come at least once a month lately to trade in books that I have received to review for books on our wishlist! I always ask for store credit instead of cash because I love their book selection so much! Also the building is beautiful and adorable inside, too! Can't recommend it enough!!

Great spot! A hidden gem in relation to Rediscovered, which is an excellent store for new books. Rainbow’s selection of used books was unique, quirky, informative - everything I want for a quality book browse. I spent a solid hour in the Travel section and left with an armful of vintage/rare books at bargain prices.

Great little used book store. Not being a huge used book store expert, I can't say if this location is top-notch regarding its collection, but it seemed to be jam-packed with a great variety of genres. The employee at the register was friendly when checking me out, and I left satisfied with my purchase. I will be returning for another trip here soon.

Fine selection and nice people, but horrible hours, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the weekend hours are really bad. It's just really tough to shop at the store because it's never open. Most people work 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday that's a real early closing time. It's like they're purposely trying to turn away customers

I can always find a book I’ll enjoy! They also are very fair when they are book-buying, so it helps that I can put some of my credits toward purchases. Very friendly staff and I enjoy how the books are organized... the staff is always willing to help and answer any questions I may have. They make me feel welcome when I come in and I love the (homey) environment!

Great variety of books and they take your gently used and loved books for credit for the store. Excellent customer service and just wondering through all the shelving its an adventure in its own. great books for reasonable prices. the people who work there are fun. walked in looking for one type of book, and walked out holding 4 books I didn't know that I wanted. I didn't notice they had an upstairs until part way through my trip. my only qualm is that if they had a separate section for lgbt+ fiction and/or romance, I didnt see it.

A good place to return the books you have already read for books you have not. Or if you can not get store credit for your books they will donate them to the library. So your used books get a chance at a long lasting life either way.

I have passed this little book store hundreds of times throughout the years and was always to busy to stop in even though I have wanted to every single time I passed. Now, as a father and husband, I found the time and went out of my way to take my son and wife by to get some classic children's books. Not only did we find every book we were looking for, we found some extras and found that they carry all types of books for all types of ages. They have a pretty sizable selection and a LOT of variety. They even had every book I asked about and didn't pick up. We walked out of there with a bag FULL of books and only paid $23. Super affordable, Great customer service, Awesome selection, and smells like an awesome book store. They deserve your business. :)

Rainbow Books is one of the best used book stores in Idaho. Great place to buy or trade boons. They've recently reorganized the place and it's pretty spectacular. The storeowners are also nice people and they own Rediscovered Books a few streets over as well.

High quality used books in a cozy setting. Proximity to the North End and downtown means that there's a good flow of the newer and trendier books than your average used book shop would. Good little place!

I was recommended to come here by an employee of another book store after I couldn't find the book I was looking for there and I'm glad I came here. The place looks like it's being run from out of a house which I love the idea of. It's also very organised and the employee was very polite. She didn't make me feel rushed like I've come expect and accept from other stores instead she was very patient when helping me and I'm glad I came and I recommend this store to anyone who's looking for books without paying full price.

The last of a dying breed in Boise. It sells used books for a good price ($1-$5 usually), and they typically have a great selection. New, popular titles as well as the classics are found on their shelves. If you're looking to stock up or just grab a book while in town, you HAVE to check here first.

The people here are extremely kind and willing to help and they're also huge book nerds. The place is organised to the extent where you can browse casually while knowing where you are. There is also a wide variety from children's to manga to classics to travel to anything else you could possibly want. Best of all the books are cheap. This is a spectacular place and I cannot reccomend it enough. If it were possible i would give this more than 5 stars.

Nice place for cheap books. The place is really cool to explore. Had a good experience everytime except one time. The one bad experience: I had called and asked if they had a certain book. The older lady said she would look in the boxes to see if she had it and call me back. Never called me back. The next day I decided to drive across town and stop in. The lady said she had not found it. Weird that she did not call me back. I go and sit in my car to call my bf to tell him they did not have it and if I should run up to Barnes & Noble to get him the book. While in talking to him she comes out. Even though there are leaves everywhere, she starts sweeping leaves riiiiight outside my passenger side window. By my tires. Hard to put into words, but it was so strange and awkward. So I left. An hour later, after I had already gone and bought the book from B&B and gone back home... She calls me saying she found the book. My conclusion: she never looked through the boxes in the first place. Thus, wasting my time and my gas. She could easily have offered to look through the boxes in the back while I was inside the store. She even said she was the one I spoke to on the phone, so she had known for over a day I wanted that book. She looked guilty when I came into the store and asked about the book. I was really annoyed about it at the time. But looking back it's pretty funny. I only wish she'd been more open and communicated what happened. I've never seen the place busy, so I don't imagine it would've been hard to look through the boxes while I was there. Unless someone literally donated the 8th book of that particular series in the hour I was gone. Only saying all this because it did leave a bad taste in my mouth about the place. But I'll definitely keep going to then first for my books.
