Probably one of my favorite game stores around. The selection is always amazing and the store always smells nice. (Which, some don't so lol) I do have to give 4 stats though because I can't really say I have ever really had a positive experience with staff. Most of the staff I have talked to or asked questions from act as if they just want you to go away or they seem bothered by you asking if they have a certain game in stock. It's definitely not the worst but it's still a bit rude IMO. Other than that, I'll still always come back to add more games and figures to my collections!

For board gamers, this store has an amazing selection of board games, sorted by publisher, no less! And all displayed in a large, open space. Give yourself an hour or two to browse the board games on display - they seem to have everything!

Nice shop. Was pretty quiet when I went and has a really good selection of new and used Magic The Gathering cards and packs. Picked up a nice binder and a couple of pre-made decks as well as some card sleeves. Good customer service too. Quite knowledgeable when asking about products and fast turn around for online orders.

ABUgames is the pinnacle of professionalism in the collectible market. I’ve been dealing them for over ten years and have never had an issue. In fact this review is way overdue. But the interaction I just had to resolve a problem I caused with unusual requests made me realize a review is needed. Buy/sell/trade with confidence. My only regret is I wish I lived closer so we could both save on USPS charges, lol.

I used to love ABU, but in the last few months it's become frustrating to try to pick up an order. They offer the ability for you to text them with your order number so they prepare it before you arrive, which used to be super convenient. The last couple times I've done this this though it's just been frustrating. The first time was a few months ago. I didn't get a response for 1.5 hours, which by then I decided to walk in, told the guy I texted in and didn't get an answer, and bought what I needed. They weren't even particularly busy at the time. So getting a text afterwards was... Kind of irritating. The second time was a couple weeks ago. I decided to try again thinking the first time was a fluke. It was on a Saturday around 7:30 PM. Eventually I got fed up and called the order in and was able to pick it up that night. I got a text back on Monday saying, "Sorry, we were closed." Since ABU is normally better than this, and they're still one of the better game stores in the area, it has to just be one or two employees that are dropping the ball which is why I'm rating three stars instead of one.

One of the best game stores I've been to (that being said I haven't been to many). They have a large building with sections dedicated to board games, tcg games, and wargames. Their magic the gathering collection is pretty extensive and they have a system in place where you can see what cards they have cataloged online or on one of their store computers, order what you want, and within a few minutes you'll have the cards you ordered.They only have citadel and army painter paints and a few painting supplies. They have a massive selection of board games. They don't sell many miniatures beyond games workshop. Their terrain selection for wargaming isn't the best but it's decent enough and they have tables usually already set up for games. The staff are pretty friendly, my brother and I stayed up until closing one night and they weren't upset or rushing us out the door and were pretty chill and let us finish or round of the game we were playing before we left.

We go to this place on our Pokémon GO route we have gone in a couple times and it is a gaming atmosphere with friendly helpful staff the price is a little high but that's what you get with retail over online shopping. We haven't experienced any negative interactions and we did find some unique card sleeves that were cool. Its worth checking out if your a gamer.

Absolutely the largest selection of games, good prices. But, when I walked thru doors, both staff looked down and ignored me- guess I am too old? I asked about location of their Warhammer games. I was told " back wall and he pointed" and again ignored me. I looked over the.limited selection, considered making a purchase, but decided to come back when different staff. As I exited the door chime rang. No one looked up, no one said Goodbye, nothing. Other stores can use my business more.

The employees at ABUgames were absolutely the finest professionals in the business. I have been to many other similar store fronts here in the valley and though people have not been disingenuous or rude in anyway, I feel that between this location as well as Phoenix Fire Games, they are incredibly genuine, kind, and invested employees. There are a plethora of neat amenities at this particular store in addition to a wide and fairly priced inventory. I definitely would highly recommend them.

I usually make it a point to drop by here if I happen to already be in Boise. It has the biggest board game selection I've ever seen along with attentive staff and above average prices to boot. I don't totally recommend using the online store unless you opt for in-store pickup because shipping can be expensive even if you live an hour away. Other than that, I've never had a bad experience here.

I don't know why I'm doing this review so late, but here it goes. Order Accuracy: 99% Customer Service: 100% Order Shipping: 1,0000,000% I order from ABUGames every time my locals are missing cards I need for my decks. It happens a couple of times a week 😅 It is well stocked, has easy site navigation, and has the best reward program known to the TCG world. I praise ABUGames for its high standard of grade quality on their cards. I wish more stores could match their standards, but that's why they are one of the best.

There is something for everyone at ABU games. It’s housed in an old fitness facility where the racquetball courts have been opened up into two wide open rooms for gaming. They have an entire wall of board games that can be played on site for free. Try it before you buy it. The selection is great. The staff are friendly. The facilities are clean and well organized and are being improved with expanded bathroom facilities.

An impressively large location with a huge variety of tabletop games. They don't have a very in-depth focus on any particular category, but they have a lot of space and they filled it with a variety of games such as you've probably never seen in your life. They also have tables for people who want to play in magic tournaments or have tabletop gaming sessions. It's a nice location and the staff are very friendly and are knowledgeable. They are under construction at the moment, but when it is done I imagine it will be very very impressive.

This place is huge! A huge selection of games of all types, card, board, miniatures, and pen and paper role playing games, just no computer games. Which is totally fine. As if this isn't enough there are at least five gaming areas, with regular schedules of the most popular CCG's and miniature games during the week. There is a board for those that are looking to set up or join games. The rooms are quite big (Dare I say huge?) and there are bathrooms and snack machines. There is also a library of games that people can play. They are placed in different categories based upon complexity. Easy to figure out which are the easiest from the most difficult. I don't know if anyone can simply show up and play them at any time or if you have to reserve them or rent them, but very cool, play a game to figure out if it is worth buying for your own. There is a downside, because the place used to be a YMCA(?) there is still some construction going on to convert it over to a full store. Mostly it just affects the bathrooms, which are still usable although a bit convoluted to get to. It seems that there has been a stall, maybe due to COVID, but nothing has changed in the last four or so months that I have been going there. But I highly recommend checking it out. Once restrictions have been lifted I expect that the place will be quite busy in the evening with quite a few different games being played.

Biggest game store I've been to. Almost certain it was a gym in a previous life. Nice, helpful staff and nice folks as regulars. Good to run into when I'm away from my home shop. They also have an incredible selection of singles and older packs. Prices are reasonable. Very cool.

Re: MTG, as that's what I play, I'd give this a 3/5. There's a lot to like, but I ***really*** dislike how they mark up precon prices for currently available precon decks. There's an MSRP for a reason, and it makes it hard for me to justify an LGS when they're charging markup on a product that is VERY readily available at target for 50% cheaper. 90% of other LGSes I've been to don't follow this practice, and I recommend you go to them instead. Likewise, their singles are overpriced. Go to a store which uses tcgplayer average; their own proprietary pricing is a little too much for me to justify. COVID hits consumers just as hard as stores! That said, the store itself is lovely and the staff are incredibly helpful. I would play magic here, if not buy. Their board games look very reasonably priced, and their space is very tidy and enjoyable. Give it a go; just don't spend any more than MSRP.

This was a phenomenal game store! They had so many options. I couldn't believe how large and vast it was. The rooms never seemed to end!! We definitely bought a few things as well. A few family board games and miniatures for our Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. I also finally got a miniature holder for my minis when I paint them! ☺️

This place is very big. It has a lot of space and lots of different things in stock, plus they have a back stock area that you can search for items in using computer stations. This is especially cool because for example if you don't see the dice color you would like, there are literally hundreds of colors to choose from in this additional stock. Super cool place. Worth checking out even if you aren't buying anything.

Big. Very, very big! From what I'm told, they're the 3rd biggest retailer of MTG cards on this plane. But that's not all! Their success with the cards enables effective use of the space (there's lots of it) for other games, books, minis, dice, and other treasures. The prices are on par with other local gaming stores. My family was looking for a particular board game. After visiting another local game store and being disappointed by the lack of selection and low quality of service, I found ABU Games. WOW! I'm so glad I came in here. The employee that helped me was friendly as soon as I entered, he helped me find the game I wanted and even checked the inventory to see if there were any other options for me. He earned the sale even when he didn't need to. I look forward to returning one day. This place is hidden local gem.

It's nice having this size of game store so local for immediate access of almost any card of the entire library of mtg. Also, the amount of board games they have are incredible. These guys have a lot for most other forms of gaming as well. While the bathroom situation isn't ideal for women, they are working on it.

I really enjoy going here to play Dungeons & Dragons. They have all the D&D books you could need, even miniatures and painting supplies. Their charity events are also a blast to attend and they have some awesome raffles. They have countless demo board games not even a quarter of them I've managed to get to play. Overall the best place to buy and play board and table top games in Boise!

Hey so I want to leave the best review for this place, I'm kind of new to the whole mtg scene and this was my first time goin to a store. They were super nice and understanding of my ignorance as well as incredibly helpful in assisting me with selling and purchasing some cards. It took a very long time to do this because they had to get some cards from their warehouse out back and there were only 4 people on shift during a VERY busy Friday night. However they were very apologetic toward the wait and thanked me several times for my understanding and patience all in all I really enjoyed the people there as they did a really good job and we're incredibly nice. I will definitely be going here again not only because of the good employee but also because of the good collection of cards

Pretty much every tabletop game most people play, minus Privateer Press products. Clean and tons of space. They are fixing my biggest complaint but I have to say it. The place used to be a gym, the bathrooms are big locker rooms, and when I go in there I feel like I'm in a high school slasher film. Clean but vacant and super creepy.

Out of all the game shops I've been to in Boise, this is definitely the best. They have a very wide selection of games. I primarily go for DnD. Their prices are equal to or better than others in town. Their tabletop rpg prices are usually below MSRP, typically 5% or better below. They also have lots of room and tables to play games at. They have table space right off the main room but they have a lot more room down the hallway. They even have several shelfs of games you can play and demo in store.

Best spot for getting cards, games, or card supplies. They mainly focus on magic the gathering but still have a variety of other games for people to enjoy and buy. When it comes to magic, you can sell, trade, or buy cards. Whether it’s a box of cards, packs, or singles, they normally have everything in stock. Also, every week they hold magic tournaments and other sorts of events. Not only for magic players but for card players in general, they also sell play mats, card sleeves, health counters, etc. Plus, if you’re hungry then you can get snacks and drinks too! Not to mention, the staff is always friendly and very helpful.

ABU Games is fantastic. They have something for everyone. Definitely need to visit it to see all that it has to offer, but here are a few. Board games? They have hundreds lined across walls. They also have a few shelves of board games so you can try before you buy. Magic the Gathering? Best place in town. They have a basketball ball court size room lined with tables and chairs where you can play. They also often host tournaments and other events. Tabletop games? They have a huge room filled with 6x4 tables where you can play Warhammer 40k or any other tabletop game. They have various groups that you can join for weekly games. Role-playing games? Great selection of sourcebooks, figures, and rules for DnD, Pathfinder, Star Wars and a few other role-playing games. They also have weekly nights and spaces available for DnD sessions.

I’ve been in and out of playing magic since the 90s and this store is by far the coolest that I’ve been to yet. I came across this amazing store four years ago and haven’t looked back. The staff is incredible, multifaceted, and very helpful! Even at four in the morning after a crazy late night for a prerelease (war of the spark)! And this store isn’t just for MTG nerds... My first order with them got lost in the mail, it was at least $100. They fully refunded me for store credit. So essentially They were going to give me the cards again but just pay for shipping, which is fair enough. Received the items a week later and very satisfied withe items I ordered and the customer service. Thank you!

I have never been to the brick & mortar store so I can't speak for the customer experience there, but ABU is my go-to vendor for selling and trading MTG cards. The sell process is extremely quick, their prices are fair (expect a reasonable counter-offer if they grade one of your cards lower than NM, unlike other vendors that will try to gouge you), and you can find some really good deals on played cards to trade for if you put the time in.

I've been here many, many times. The folks at the counter are great and treat the customers well. For magic singles and board games on hand selection is second to none. Why 3 stars? Every time I come to sell singles it takes far, far too long. Last time I had to come back another day to recieve payment and the most recent visit which prompted the review was to sell 7 cards. I sent in the buylist before arriving. There were 4 people at the counter and I was behind one person in line for buylists. The other person's buylist was finished within ten minutes. It was for store credit. After an hour after I beinghad accepted the total and the front desk placed a radio call requesting my check I had been in the store for a total of almost 2 hours. Guys, that's too long for a $65 check from 7 cards. If the order or check amount had been large or if I had been there during peak hours i would have completely understood.

First time user here. I have been looking around at online retailers to sell/buy mtg cards. Heard about ABU Games from Youtube. Their buylist is the highest ive seen, and i ended up sending in 4 cards for several hundred dollars worth of credit. They received and processed them in a timely manner and credited the exact amount to my account the next day. I then ended up using the credit to purchase over 100 cards. Received my package within a reasonable time, and the packaging was superb. One final note, i had sent in my cards to sell in a plastic card holder, and requested in a note, that if they could send it back with the cards i bought, i would greatly appreciate it. They ended up sending it back to me! Very cool company and will definitely shop with them again. 20 stars!

Wow, the staff actually reads their reviews and values their customers. It looks like this was up for only a few days before the problem seemed to "dissolve". It looks like the individuals still work there but their behavior has significantly improved both to me and other customers. The staff actually sought me out and worked with me over a resolution. -Previous Review- While I love tournament night and some of the staff, there are a few staff members who will do stuff like freak out at you over stuff like sitting at the wrong table and asking for help. Don't trust most staff for reliable advise on magic either. When in doubt, find Aj or Tyler and ask them.

BY FAR the best e-tailer to deal with for trading cards. I've been buying and selling with ABU for almost a decade and have never had one bad experience. All told: almost 30 transactions. I hold them in the highest regard and their service should set the industry standard for how to handle trading card games. Absolutely five stars all the way and I would recommend them to anyone for their gaming needs.

Havent even thought about magic cards for 26 year. Decided I am bored and wanted to collect old cards from when I was 10 and played showed up yesterday. The guys up front were very chill and helpful about how it's different now and different options. I even canceled my bid on a few expensive card on Ebay when I found out apparently Mox arnt basically allowed in any play style. I look forward to nerding out a little bit here

This place is a hidden gem. They have many board games and figurines games like warhammer (sorry if that is not the correct term) to choose from. They hold game nights here for card and board games. The staff is well knowledged too. I asked one employee for board game ideas off of a vague suggestion. He proceeded to go above and beyond and took me around the room highlighting aspects of several board games that might fulfil my needs. If you are a tabletop gamer, you have to stop here.

I've been using ABUGames for almost a decade. I buy and sell to them and they always have a fair market rate. Service is spectacular usually shipping the next business day after I place my order. A few times I have made last-minute adjustments to my order and they accommodate my request. Make sure you check the shipping options carefully because sometimes it's cheaper to use FedEx than USPS depending on your order.

I live out of state and purchased some Magic Cards from them awhile back. They were expensive and I wanted each card packaged separately. They were very accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. Their definition of "Near Mint" is always spot on and their "played" cards sometimes include some that other Dealers try and pass off as "Near Mint" which is really noble on ABU Games' part. Their prices are good, but the fact that the higher value cards have actual pictures gives you peace of mind. When I am looking to purchase Magic Cards, this business gets heavy consideration. 4 stars because I was in the Star Wars Destiny League here and they cancelled it. They still have a very large selection of games, but it's sad when a business only tries something for a month. I wasn't able to make every week due to work, but I guess a business has to make money before catering to customers.

While the selection of Magic cards is impossible to beat in the area, I've seen an uptick in orders where they pull cards that are below the condition paid for, or just pulled the wrong cards. Their private rooms in the back are alright, although the light fixtures in one of them have needed to be replaced for a few months now.

Just moved to Boise from Mountain Home, and was looking for a new regular place to geek out. When I got there with my cousin, everyone kind of stared at her. (Not many girls must come in.) No big deal, but the staff was kind of lacking. Matt, I think his name was, kind of scared her (I know the guy was just being friendly.) and now she doesn't want to go in with me anymore, because she thinks he might kidnap her or something. Anyway... I go to ask for a portfolio, and Matt looks at me kinda funny, but a bigger dude that was working the counter knew what I was talking about. So all in all, its a fine shop, and the staff was really nice. (kind of overbearing) GREAT PRICES by the way... got a pack of sleeves, a card box, and a portfolio for 14 bucks! Not too shabby! Will return for some FNM very soon.
