My local B&N is a place of tranquility where I am surrounded by thousands of future best friends, who eagerly wait on shelves hoping to be noticed. I am also in the company of fellow humans, who, like me, are looking for adventure, knowledge, insight, and enjoyment in the pages of a book or magazine. The cafe is a place to peruse the pages of our future purchases. The cookies and hot chocolate make this even more pleasurable. Try it; you'll like it.

First time ever purchasing books and the customer service was excellent. Your employee Mo gave me her time and helped me find the books I was personally looking for. Great place to go have some peace and read your book with some Starbucks coffee.

Look, I love Barnes and Noble. I love the selection, the books, the manga, the board games, all of it. Every employee I've spoken to has been super nice and helpful. The only thing about this place is that it's soooooooo disorganized. I don't know if it's the onslaught of disrespectful children or lazy customer, or that it's not having enough employees to clean/arrange shelves, but every section is half laying in the wrong place and nothing is where it should be. For how big this place is, I'd expect an army of shelf employees just making sure things are where they are supposed to be. Instead there's like one poor teenage girl behind the checkout counter, one poor manager dude running around trying his best to help people and like a lady stuck in the cafe for a 6000sqf business. Holy cow B&N! Stop being cheapskate and hire some people!

I really like this location. It is clean and has a very friendly Staff. The selection is pretty good and their displays are very well organized. I have mixed-feelings about the Cafe Staff, but recently they've been pretty good. The parking lot is not great; it's very high traffic, small spaces and space spaces. You mostly have to park in the adjacent lot of the abandoned Toys R Us. They have a great Story Time with Miss Haven. That's awesome. The Saturday morning ones are pretty lame and last for A single story with sometimes activities. I don't recommend those ones hosted on Saturday. OR if B&N is reading this, please get some enthusiastic Staff for Saturday who is going to put the same amount of effort as the Friday Night one. Otherwise I really dig this location. It is not as BIG as the Coronado Mall one, but I prefer this one for sure.

I found lots of hobby type things like how to build a volcano, different types of rocket building really to much to mention 😄 the customer service was very good and the parking was very good too. …

A little pricey but I love love love wandering around to see what books are available or catch new releases. Their board game selection is Aldo quite nice. Wish they had better dice selections though.

BN is a nice bookstore with a good selection of books, cars, journals, markets and highlighters. The atmosphere is bright and clean and the staff is courteous l. The only detriment is the expanded children's offerings. The children's section was - years ago - restricted to the back of the store. It has expanded into the main floor and simply makes the place look like well, a KMart toy section. This is unfortunate. Remains a good store and I would recommend it.

The books were all quite bland, lacking proper seasoning and the crazy wait staff constantly asked me to stop putting the books in my mouth... ... won't likely return... ...well probably will return, but only to finish off the cooking section

I'm a pretty big fan of Barnes & Noble, and this location lives up to the brand image. They're wide selection of books is fairly inclusive, and I can't think of any titles I've come looking for thar they haven't carried.

I love to study the Bible and the Archaeology Study Bible I got is so informative. I can't wait to get all kinds of insightful new knowledge about Jesus and what it was like to live back then and to read about the hardships that men and women went through back then and how crazy times were and how different it is. I can't imagine having to live through some of the things our ancestors had to live through.

Dropped in here for a quick snack, will have to return to browse the book selection. I had a lovely slice of quiche in their immaculately clean Cafe. Friendly staff are obviously very good at keeping the area spotless.

Great place to relax. Multiple secrions that are easy to navigate, and if you canf than there is a team member near by ready to help. Cafe is nice and clean with friendly staff. Bathroom is clean and has changing stations in each gender. Free wifi available. Cozy atmosphere that welcomes you.

They have a huge selection. I was disappointed that they didn't have a proper philosophy section. They have a lot of religious books written by theologians but they don't balance it out by having a philosophy section. Couldn't find a single book on Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Victor Frankl, Frederick Nietzsche, Jean Paul shatra, or Soren Kierkegaard to at least make a bridge between philosophy and theology. Their psychology section was pretty good but the science section could be better. Great fiction section. Good overall

What do I not love about this place, anyone can be helped there, their customer service is very friendly and helpful. The Starbucks that is there is so nice, it’s literally in the middle of the store. I am new in town, but this Barnes and Noble is beyond what words can explain or express from my point of view. I would have loved it, but I had an experience the other day. I asked for some help, and the employee I spoke with didn't seem to want to help. She didn't answer any questions, and couldn't, or wouldnt point me in the direction of three books (diff categories). All in all I like Barnes & noble very much!

I always go in on a mission with a very strict list. I visited recently with one book in mind. I knew exacly what I was looking for; author; title, and section; I came out with a bag full of impulse books. Books are my weakness. If they are your weakness, this place is your sticky spiderweb of personal entrapment. I LOVE Barnes & Noble. I relive my very privileged childhood in the children's section, buy gifts for friends and family, find the greatest obscure and wonderful board games that have entertained my kids and students for a lifetime, and glory in the tables of classics and new literature. The counter staff are like old friends. In fact, they are! They love to talk books when the lines are short!

You will find the book titles you want here. I did not think that Barnes and Nobel would have the book I wanted, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the conservative author’s book available. They even had the now controversial Gone with the Wind on their shelf. I’m happy to have an excellent book seller near me.

The staff I've met have a great understanding of creating a good experience for themselves so naturally provide natural easy experienced customer service. Definitely tip the Cafe when you can. Great selection, helpful staff, and it’s easy to order online and pick up. They’ll even bring your order to your car if you call them! They also have lots of awesome deals in there. One of my selections ended up being a lot less expensive than it said it was. The children’s area is awesome, and there’s also a large toy area. This is a great place to go to buy gifts! You’ll find something for everybody. They usually have some interesting somewhat random items. It’s nice to support book stores, and I’m so glad that they are able to continue to provide us these services. They used to have lots of diverse events as well, which I’m sure will start up again soon. I also miss the Starbucks inside this store, so I’m looking forward to that coming back too!

I had a great experience shopping at this store with my kids during my stay in Albuquerque on their spring break. My younger son found a lego set we were looking for at the right price (out of stock other places and online) together with a book from a series he wanted. My older son found several books in the classics and a tough, well known board game he didn't have in his personal set that I'm sure he'll enjoy with friends and family. During this difficult time, where our family is broken, I am thankful for this opportunity B&N provided to give blessings. Pat (manager) was especially and exceptionally helpful regarding my member savings, even after I couldn't return to the store in person. Thank you for such great service!

I had never been to this location, the layout is definitely different (not having an escalator or elevator to deal with), seemed to be way more staff on hand then what I'm used to seeing even at the customer service desk. Would need to go again to see more of the layout. Felt like some areas like Anime was crowded. But I guess you could say that's good with people's interests in the areas they want to explore. Over all a different feel then the other location. But will make plans to visit again. (Expecially if the escalator at the Coronado location isn't working or replaced with actual stairs) a little exercise doesn't hurt any one & if it does do it more often.

This has been my favorite book store since I was a kid and still is. Online shopping is great and all but its nice to be able to browse and read in person in a quiet lovely book store that smells like paper, ink and coffee. Great for unexpected good reads at fair prices. Some national magazine sold here. Specialty gifts from Japan, like Anime themed statues, playing cards mostly Miszaki themed products. Good kids toys from age 6 mo up. Also a coffee and tea bar is on the premises, and tables are available for use.

We found the cookbook we were searching for in about 30 minutes. We looked through seven difference books before paying for The Renal Diet cookbook. It had recipes, but more importantly it had charts listing important information. Sometimes online information is not enough. Thank you Barnes and Noble!

My family loves our visits to Barnes & Noble. They offer storytime, regular coupons and the store always is neat and welcoming. The staff are exceptional- knowledgeable and pleasant. The only complaint I would have is that sometimes the cafe gets too busy, but they move pretty quickly to get orders out.

This is always a good place to spend some time. They have a wide selection of books and a nice little cafe here. The staff are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something particular. The bathrooms could be looked after a little more, but they are public bathrooms so sometimes there isn't a lot they can do except go in there a little more. I would definitely recommend this store for books and the cafe, just skip the bathrooms.

They have a cute Cafe what's a variety of coffee teas and sweets. We also had a great selection of books and unique gifts. They can be a bit pricey but they do have some fun items and good book sales.

Been going to this bookstore location going on thirteen years. Always a good experience! A great place to relax with a cup of tea or coffee as well as great staff and book bargains, or if you just want to smell the ink! I love children's lit, and there is always a great selection of classics and new, toys and games, science and knowledge building games, and jokes. And for new books, I can call and have a book held for pickup if I am rushed for time.

Bought some gifts here, and have spent a few dollars here as well for personal use. I'm not really a reader, but their selection of board games is pretty good for the area and if you need to get something quicker than ordering online than they may have the game you are looking for. I was recently their during the Christmas rush, and even though I was a little hesitant to make a purchase due to the huge line, however I really wanted to get these two board games, so I decided to wait, despite the intense selling of their subscription service, they were able to get people out fairly fast.

I come here consistently for the drinks. Their cafe serves Starbucks, though they can't make all specialty drinks. Even so the staff is friendly and easily accommodated my particular order. Very satisfied and will return in the future

I love the game section and my kids like to read in the children's area. They also have readings and other events all the time.

Good quality books, and extremely helpful staff. ever since the remodel and moving things ariund things are a little bit hard to find, but that just makes it more of an adventure! They didn't have the book I was looking for but helped me out and ordered it for me sk I could go pick it up in the store later. Exciting! I particularly loke the little stands kf "oh book club type books" and "we recommend these ones if you're looking for ___" makes me feel right at glme amomgat the books, and all the fun parts in the games senctions!

The store has really great books and other things as well such as toys. My son wanted a titanic toy and a real one can be quite expensive online. The store is where his grandfather recommended so when we got there, we found a titanic ship that can be assembled together, cardboard, yet quite efficient for my son. I like the West Side location much better than Coronado Mall. It's not insanely crowded and the parking isn't horrendous which makes it a great place to hang out, browse, and read. I still like the look and feel of actual, physical books made out of paper. Not everything has to be electronic.

My daughter and I can spend hours here. Plus they have a little Starbucks Cafe if you want to grab a bite to eat in between reads. If you are planning to eat at the cafe make your purchase first because the cashier will always give you a discount off a drink or will provide a coupon for a buy one get one free cookie at the Starbucks cafe they have there.

One of the last big chain book stores. The staff is awesome and is always helpful. Keep an eye out during the month for guests. During the holidays they had service animal groups there to share their stories, pet the dogs, and get gifts wrapped.

Limited selection of certain topics. They need more NM authors. Still have to go to the library for certain books. Wish there were better sales. Parking is not too bad. Salespersons are helpful but you have to go to them for assistance instead of them coming to you then you'll find 3 or 4 standing around visiting with one another. Need better customer service! Wish there were more book stores.

Once a very quiet enjoyable place to browse and read. No longer so quiet. Too many folks browse while talking loudly on their phones or having loud cinversations. It has become quite dirty also. The staff is great but the population has has changed. No respect. Prefer a cleaner, less noisy bookstore.

Updated review: the store follows Covid safe practices but not all the patrons do, especially not maintaining six feet of space. Be aware... And not all folks are nice when you ask. Overall a fine store. I wouldn't say this was strictly a bookstore. It's about 50 percent books. The rest of devoted to giftware, toys, and a cafe. It is fun for kids to discover but this also can make the store busy at times. The magazine section here seems much smaller than the one at Coronado Mall. This store is a good place to look for bargain books and everything gifty for your self or others.

There are two really nice bookstores left in Albuquerque, no disrespect to the used stores or the independents (Bookworms remains great) both are Barnes and Noble. This one is the somewhat smaller one and doesn't have a music and DVD section (the other is at Coronado and does have perhaps the best CD & DVD section in the state). Just the same this store still has one if the two best selection of new books and magazines in town. Staff us well trained and will help find or order what you need. I like to browse because I invariably find books that I never come across on the Internet and that I can hold and look at. Hopefully real books will never die.

Went here for a Legos build & take event. Event was very well attended, many kind &their family's. The staff promoted this event well. They over saw the large crowd and handled very professionally.
