Reviews of Westchester Bicycle Pro Shop
Absolutely great experience. They had everything I needed and more. Capable and professional shop that also has a nice selection of all kinds of bikes. I will definitely be back for any other service needs. Thanks again!
I've been coming to this bike shop for years and have never been disappointed with the care I've received. They are professionals and know what they're doing and they'll never over charge you for their work. I sent my bike to them after years of neglect. I had her folded up in a corner unused for ages. She was unridable. I knew they could bring my baby back to life again and that they wouldn't charge me an arm or a leg. Well, I just got my bike back and she's like new again. And I didn't break the bank. They actually charged less than what I was expecting. I can't wait to take her for a spin. I highly recommend this bike shop. The best bike shop in the Bronx.
Dudes know what they're doing! Very knowledgeable great attentions, excellent service!
The price of the bike was reasonable however the accessory were alittle expensive I found them cheaper online and I also had to bring it back because the brakes were grinding of coarse! When I left it was not fixed so I looked at it myself and ta da! I fixed it! I just wish he didn’t scrape one of my screws on the caliper
Great kind staff. Very cheap repair prices and a great repair return policy assures they won’t keep your bike for too long. They offer a great selection of bikes, but for replacement parts things do get a big pricey but not over expensive.
I love this bike shop and highly recommend it! I have been going to this bike shop since 2016 I used to live in the Bronx at the time. Now, I'vebeen living in Queens for the past year and I still give them my business.
They are honest, fast, and very reasonable with pricing. Also, they love to see people in the community biking, going to school, and better themselves and their health. Everytime I go there they make small conversation and give me a discount (they are really good at upselling and I always find myself buying things I don't really need, hahaha).
If you bought your bike from them or you're a regular or a child, they'll put air in your tires for free. They also are not afraid to tell some of the kids to be quiet and learn respect, like how to say thank you and other mannerisms which I like. They are very involved in the community.
Covid did affect some hours which is very disappointing, i find some Sundays they aren't open or maybe they are open later than what is stated on Google. Other than that it's still 5 stars! The owner is Asian and he has his niece come in to help, he is teaching her about business. The workers are nice and helpful! Highly recommended! 👏🏾👏🏾
Every day during this pandemic and since essential businesses have remained opened including bike shops, there has been a line of people waiting to either get repairs purchase parts, or try their luck at being the owner of a new bike for the remaining inventory. This place has always had what I need and service is excellent. There are few bike shops I've gone to in the Bronx more than this one. I would highly recommend. Go extra early or try your luck in the afternoon. Expect to wait as much as an hour for repairs or quotes.
I have three bikes from James (one in 2012 and the others in 2019) . One high end and two mid end ( for my kids). As far as pricing goes, I believe he is fair and worked out a good deal on all three bikes. On my high-end bike after about two months my rear brake caliper seized up and he could not replace it with the one that was there so he replace both front and back brake system with hire End components and did not charge me a dime. I would recommend this shop for both service and sales. Service is definitely a little slow because it is very busy so as long as you have a day or two you will be fine...
Full service bike shop with knowledgeable staff and a huge inventory of bikes and accessories. Upgrades and repairs on site. Recommend for all your biking needs.
Great service. James been working on bicycles for a long time and does great work on all my bicycles from my road bike to my cyclocross bike. He’s the only mechanic there currently, so there might be some turnaround time, but this is the only place I go to for bike repairs.
Repair cost is very expensive. Just tuning old bike costs 100$. They recommend you to bike bikes from them which are pre built. Overall informative. However very expensive. Kits or accessories are way expensive than online. Friendly and accommodating.
Family owned shop. It's been around for a whole longer than I can remember. You need a mask for sure. No bathroom sooo go before you come (or go). They have ebikes as well as regular bikes. Expensive bikes, not expensive bikes, clothes, helmets, tools and Mechanics. They take all forms of payment. Tap, Cards, cash and even have some quick credit app. See you there
Nearest LBS and I've brought in my road bike in a couple times, which I didn't buy there and I will say people's complaints are pretty warranted. Service charges can at times be overpriced and customer service is really lacking. One, there is always a wait to be attended on and yes the owner is simply rude. Some of it is cultural since I am Korean too so I kind of understand but the majority of it is him just not caring probably. I went in looking for a MTB or Gravel bike (he didn't even know what a gravel bike was) and told him my size and he said "that's a girls bike". I will say he does have a good selection of bikes and the prices are good on the bikes themselves, but don't expect to haggle with him at all, again he is Korean.
this guy been in business long time, i bought my trek bike from him. and recently my ebike had a flat , he fix it.
They are and always be a great neighborhood bikeshop.... strictly professional at all times #supportourneighborhoodstores
Very knowledgeable repair man. Aligned my derailer in inder 10 minutes. The reason for the 3 stars is the wait to have the work done. It's a busy bike shop. The other reason is the way he placed my bike on the repair stand. He hooked it up there using my bike seat. He could have broken it along with the motor on my ebike on the drop. SMH
Pretty fast turnaround time. I pretty much needed a bike overhaul since my bike fell off my rack (on the parkway) on my way to a cycling trip. Was able to get a bunch of stuff on my bike fixed and replaced within 3 hours. I’m glad I didn’t have to cancel my trip. Thanks!
I visit this store for the past 4.years. tune up. I also purchased my third bike there. Honestly the negative reviews it makes no sense to me.
James is awesome. Let's support local stores.
This has to be one of the very few shops that will do on the spot tune ups and repairs. Try that at a Westchester County, NY shop and you will get your bike back in weeks. Jimmy, the owner, oversees all the work and at times chips in and works on bikes with the other mechanics. If you want your bike attended to, fast, this place is best and the work is professional. You may have to wait an hour or two if they are busy but they work very fast. The only downsides I can tell you about this shop, is parking is a headache, you are best to park on the street as soon as you can find a space, there are only a few spaces for parking by the shop and usually they are taken. Also, this shop is often understaffed so if it is busy, you will not get much attention. I purchased a new Trek Road Bike here and the prices are competitive. I wanted to test ride the bike before purchasing one but you can't do it at this shop. The shop is also very small and does not have many accessories. Go to this shop for repairs and work done on the bike, and buy your accessories for your bike on-line as I do. I would also return to this shop to buy a new bike in the future.
One of the best bike shops in entire city. Great combination of discount prices, wide selection and inventory, and diligent service. I've bought several bikes here for myself and for family members, and this shop will always be my first choice.
Owner, Mr. James, is especially conscientious and helpful.
Best affordable respectable place to get your bike fix or tune up friendly to kids and customer answers questions respectfully and clean organized they fixed all my kids bike and help me understand how to maintain the bikes aswell
I had a tricycle (3 wheel bicycle) put together there this week and they charged me $150 dollars plus 13 dollars tax thats alot of money that was half the price of the tricycle and his build wasnt that great loose nuts every thing was just thrown together fenders were loose besides how do you charge tax on building a bike they are slick boy
James is a fair owner that is a no BS sort of person. Is the customer service out of this world -- no! Does he know what he is talking about yes! It is not a high end glitsy shop, by no means but they get the job done.
James ways so helpful and knowledgeable.
A must visit when you have that one weird click on your hub or shifting problems.
Oh, he also fix tires, just in case.
They didn't have a lot of choices...but it because bikes are selling fast. I'm sure it's because gyms are not open. But they were as quick and as helpful as they could be and put my bike together quickly as well.
Old school bike shop with a great selection of mid range to hi end bikes. Fully stocked parts department with a competent mechanic on duty
Very helpful. They know exactly what they are doing. Lines might take a bit long due to the pandemic. But i loved it . First time today and will definitely be going back ☺️. Definitely recommend it
Helpful, yet a bit brusque. This shop is quite busy so it is understandable. This is a neighborhood shop, but I still saw a few $4,000 bikes, if you know what I mean...
Detailed attentive and knowledgeable decent prices fare so far I want to go back. I also want to see what they can provide as other services.
James is the absolute best!!! His knowledge of high end road bikes is impeccable and the service he gives is fantastic!!! This is my spot.
If you know what you want and know a minimum amount about bikes then this place is great. there is a thing called the interweb. do your homework. No nonsense, no bs. like any business should be, if you are a fool then get ripped off. Classic NYC. Classic Bronx. if you are looking for friends or buddies then get lost. Been going there as long as i can remember.
Nice bike shop that carries pro gear and parts and accessories. Reasonable prices and good service.
My Girlfriend and I chanced upon a League Fuji road bike being cut from a bike rack by sanitation workers. It was perfect size for her, but missing a back wheel.
New chain, cables, rear wheel, tube and tire plus labor, $150.
Not bad to resurrect a vintage chromoly race frame that retailed for 3 or 4 times that amount way back when.
I also read a review from someone saying their childs bike had a tangled rusty bike chain. The bike shop was correct in insisting that you replace it. There is no telling what level of corrosion has occured. Simply oiling it is no enough. Rusted chains tend to snap at the worst possible moment, like in traffic.
Great shop. They've been around for many many years. However they have no bikes for sale at the moment.
They got a huge variety of bikes for all purposes and if you don’t have much knowledge they will help you. My very first bike as an adult was here, highly recommended!!!!
Had my flat on my scooter fixed 🤪🤪very pricey 50 bucks, not sure if that was standard but I'd like to hear from others 👍👍 …
I took my bike in to this pro shop just for a tune-up and some tire and they superseded my expectations ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ .. not only does my bike like brand new but I got some kickass tires with it...thanks pro shop
Large store and lots of equipment to serve all types of bike needs. Highly recommended. 5 STARS!!!
I CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE OWNER, HES TRUE TO HIS WORD. THE SHOP IS SMALL BUT HE CAN DELIVER(TO THE STORE) WHAT YOU NEED. I'M ON MY SECOND BIKE PURCHASE, PAYING $$$$ BECAUSE I TRUST HIS EXPERTISE. I RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANY CYCLIST YOUNG AND OLD WE'VE ALL HAD BAD EXPERIENCES, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE HAVE TO JUDGE EVERY PERSON, PLACE BY WHAT WE WENT THROUGH.
Great experience. Ordered at 1am and received a call at 10:20 am to let me know the bike was ready!!!
I think that it would be a great idea to change the store hours online to reflect winter hours instead of having people wake up early to travel on a sunday in 30 degree weather for a small repair only to find that the store is closed. Just a idea.
Great place to buy / ask questions etc this guy is the real dealHE KNOWS HIS STUFF and the prices is Very Competitive
Have a wide variety of bikes, many out of my range but the people are nice and helpful, I've been cautious based on some low reviews , should have come by sooner
There's a new owner who has fair prices works quickly to resolve issues I strongly recommend him.
If you're a cyclist.
We went in just to look and the guy there was great. Low pressure, helpful. When we buy a bike, we'll buy from them.
I trust this place and had a great experience today.
Everything I wanted they had.
A new seat, lock, bag and water holder
Thank you
This is my favorite neighborhood bike shop. And if you buy the bike from him you get free maintenance for the life of the bike. They aren't open on sundays anymore.
Came in for a nice mountain bike, definitely got something better than what I would find in a department store. Love my bike. Thanks!
If you're in the Bronx or if you're not in the Bronx, this is the bike shop you want to go to. FULL STOP!!!
I've bought two bikes from here over the years. It serves its purpose, but as you will read from many other people on here, the customer service is very much lacking at this place.
Good place to get your bike fixed, they do good work.
Guys were really helpful and the stock is amazing 10/10 going back for my tune up
Great customer service. Very good prices and the owner is able to solve issues.
Stept in looking for a cheap bike not here lol. Cool bikes but I have to wait for the second stimulus check.
Great Bike, fair price, owner knows what he's talking about when it comes to bikes especially when it comes to size and fit.
I can get the negative reviews. But I will tell you a secret, know when to come here and you will get the best service. They are super busy sometimes and this is why service seems poor.
My family has been coming here for years, great service & nice bikes! Wide variety too.
Convenient, lots of options and quick service. Customer service is ok.
good job fixing my bicicle and my children's . but work on the price please thank you everything works good now.
Good service, but overpriced...back to Tito @ Castle Hill bike shop on E. Tremont.
Very knowledgeable staff. Excellent service. Get what you pay for.
He is very busy..but is good.... Sometimes is not in good mood 😅😅😅....but he does the work.... A little priciii but he is good !!## …
The prices for repairing/upgrading your bicycle are way too high... The folks are nice, though.
I use to get my tires and parts replaced back in my highschool years in this shop. As far as i know this is THE bike shop for all your needs.
Nice and very knowledgeable! He knows it all. Heard the shops been around forever.
Great shop with lots of options from road bikes to mountain bikes. The owner is super knowledgeable and helpful.
Best bike shop. He is knowledge and very helpful.
there is a bit of a wait for repairs, but I'm thankful you guys are open during during this pandemic. thanks guys for keeping me on the road.
Friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Didn't try to upsale me on repairs!
Their bicycles are so expensive the minimum price is $500 I couldn't believe it
Great place to buy accessories for your bike or get a tuneup. Much better than more expensive places in the suburbs.
Honest and supportive owner operator. He's got you covered.
James is very busy but finds the time to take care of my bike !
Got the parts i needed. Needs to clean windows. Did not show on google maps.
Social distancing observed, long line, but in the end mission accomplished and new inner-tube purchased
Best bike shop in the bronx great service
Bought a SE bike they have all types of bikes there se, mountain bikes and I think electric
This place has been here for decades there are great and know what they are doing.
It's one of the nicest near me. He'll fix things while you wait. Could wait a while though.
Always a good place to get your bike repaired and possibly the last bike shop in the Bronx.
You need something for your bike they make sure you get it they have over 30 years there for a reason. Experience.
Hey you should go see the store it's nice good service
Great staff, they are friendly and knowledgeable. I would greatly recommend
Good service get there early lines are long now due to the Plandemic...
Small busy shop, has what you need. Unexpected sales items leave you smiling.
James is the best, support your local shops!
Great place! Excellent service especially for trikes!
Great bike shop, but a bit overpriced.

Alright bike shop
Very good place with reasonable price. The mechanic and the owner is very skillful and professional. If u go there to buy or fix bikes, do not think that he is forcing u to pay more. He only says what really need to be fixed and considered. Just trust him then u will not regret. Also the customer future service is also very👌.
Koreans just go here. It's not a waste of money and it's fixed for sure. If you are going to buy a bike, I highly recommend it.
They attended me quickly and easily.. fast costumer service ..1,2,3
