Reviews of Trek Bicycle Upper West Side 72nd St.
Such a great store and an even better team! Special thanks to Anthony for being super helpful throughout the process of purchasing my first road bike. He really went the extra mile to get me my almost entirely sold out bike and even arranged for a temporary replacement while I waited on the delivery. Super stoked about my new bike and will definitely be recommending this location to everyone.
I bought a verve 1 bike 3 years ago. The bike frame cracked and my bike was replaced the same day! Trek has a life time warranty on the bike frames. Amazing! Good company and solid integrity. I am very happy with my new bike.
I found a top-notch bike shop on West 72nd, not far below Columbus. TrekBike is so welcoming - -they are well-staffed (even store managers roam the floor), the place is super clean and best of all, Trek services all brands, not only Trek!. I had some repairs done on my Specialized and the service was quick and well-executed. Now that I'm thinking of selling my bike for an electric, Trek recommended promising websites and will even pack & send it to the new owner! The Trek bikes on display are varied and colorful. On the store's big screen, the staff can search the U.S. for the availability of a bike you like in a color you like, and in a size that suits you -- amazing!! TrekBike clearly goes the extra mile (no pun intended.).
I didn't even purchase a bicycle but I'm going to. The lady there, really a girl to me. She was so pleasant. I'm going back. I need one for March 1st. Great store. 72nd and Amsterdam. I've looked on Amazon, but there are some "fake" ones. Schwinn Trek Cannondale Fugi. I'm not buying a bike named Alligator or some remorsefuly useless name. Be cool. I hope the girl is there. Your store is nothing without her. Only kidding. Nice people deserve accolades. 👏
Awesome staff. Mike .....He’s simply great. He put my Trek Marlin 7 together. No issues. And I went back to buy a Bontrager helmet. He explained the pros and cons. Very professional. Takes his time with you. he's thorough and attentive..... the whole staff are simply a delight. If you have any issue with your bike please do yourself a favor. And visit The trek store on 72nd street
Bought two bikes here last year and it was the greatest decision. Superior customer service and quality bikes. Open in early evening also.
Just like other reviewers stated, professional and knowledgeable staff, beautiful bikes and gear.
I didn’t purchase anything, as I was just browsing. Their prices do range quite a lot from couple hundred dollars - $13,000 bike ! 🤑 …
Just went yesterday to the west 72nd off broadway Trek store on Thursday the 23rd of June. I was welcomed to the shop by a crew of guys that made me feel at ease immediately! They educated me on bike parts and even took my measurements of my hip bone to install the correct seating!! Although I didn't buy the seat I was able to understand the process of choosing a seat. What impressed me most was their patience with me. I am grateful to you guys and I hope you success. They need to give you guys a raise, and acknowledgement!! They also have a beautiful collection of affordable and high end bikes!!!
I went to my "regular" bike shop down the street with a minor tire issue - been going there for 10 years and have dropped a fair penny there - and they turned me away because they were too busy (I guess the onslaught of new customers due to COVID-19 demand has made me superfluous). On the way home, I walked past this Trek store and thought I'd give them a try. The guy I met took the wheel from my hand, fixed the tire, and handed it back to me in 10 minutes. I asked, "How much do I owe you?" He said, "Nothing. Don't worry about it". I'm sold! Very excited to have a new bike shop that I can depend on.
I learned to ride a bike at age 45! And now I am hooked. I have been using Citibike but would like to buy my own. I was a bit intimidated as I am a novice and then has the good fortune of meeting Elisha. She was patient, knowledgeable and very engaging. I bought a helmet on Amazon, which sucked. Walked out with a new helmet and pretty sure I found the bike I'd like to invest in. No pressure only great customer service
Wow- staff were super friendly and attentive as soon as I stepped inside
While I may ride a Specialized bike, this Trek store just get my business with parts and service :)
Ricardo Manzana went above and beyond to get my bike fixed after it's was damaged by luggage handlers. Awesome shop, would definitely recommend
Lou is incredible! He's very knowledgeable and friendly. I came into the store looking to purchase a new road bike. He was able to immediately guide me towards the right bike and provided some very helpful advice and information!
Lou went above and beyond to look for a bike for me, even following up with me to keep me updated.
Highly recommend!
Extremely kind and helpful employees. Ordered my first bike from them and they spent a lot of time going over basics, answering a ton of questions and helping me pick out parts. Very glad I went with Trek for my first "real" bike.
Awesome staff. So excited for my new ride! Checkpoint ALR 5. Tony & Fabia were fantastic help during a crazy busy time for bike shops across the country.
Super cool bike shop great staff and to top it off the manager Tony is well familiar with my 90's Gt performer (BMX) bike he was able to work on it no problem! Their collection of Treck road bikes are no joke! So I say come on down to w72st get yourself a Grey's Papaya hot dog then walk a couple of feet towards the park and stop on it you won't regret it
The Trek upper west side store is a gem! The staff are polite and knowledgeable and the service is second the none.
Super friendly!! Came in today with my son’s bike (he’s only 4) to see if they can help me diagnose and adjust it since I’m pretty sure I didn’t do so great of a job assembling it. Not only did one of the guys help adjust it, hr wouldn’t charge me for the service despite me insisting. Not only that, he even helped me install a bell my son insisted on buying. After he realized the bell’s clamp was too large for the handlebars, he worked for a while to try and find a way to jerry rig the clamp to fit and it worked! Would def come back for future bike needs.
Excellent service! Ricardo was very helpful in making things easy and fast, and Alberto is a fantastic mechanic, very thorough and who takes time to explain you what needs to be done on your bike. A wonderful team, both professional and nice to work with!
These guys were great. They set me up with a decent mtb after I utterly destroyed my hybrid Cannondale Quick CX4. After talking to them, it became very apparent that I was more into mountain biking than I was realizing, and left with a Marlin 7 that I adore, and has managed to put up with SO MUCH abuse.
So yeah, visit them. lol
There's very little on the internet about how to swap the newer Madone SLR two-piece bar/stem pair for the terrible, utterly inflexible one-piece bar-stem combo that came on my Madone RSL. But Mike King figured it out, with great communication throughout and cheerful enthusiasm for a task that surely consumed way way more research and heuristics than the one hour of labor he billed for. (For $11,000 you'd think Trek headquarters, with its 80 engineers in Wisconsin, would be a little more helpful than they were; they were pretty much useless -- "we can't send you the headset cover"; it can't be done etc. etc.)
I like the complete effort given by Ricardo Manzano and the work and generous kindness of Alberto De Mingo. I thanked them both when I picked up the bike but please do it again for me. Hopefully it won’t be to long before I can take advantage of my flat tire fix card Inwon on raffle day last week or so. Again, after riding the loop and discovering how well the repair and tune was…I am very happy! Cudos Cheers And have a great spring at Trek!!
Fantastic service. Evan, Ricardo and Alberto are a stellar team. Alberto went the extra mile to both do a quality service, and also show me what what done / how to keep properly maintaining my bike. overall an easy / quick experience too, service completed in <24 hours
Extremely kind customer service, unlike many other bike shops I have encountered, the people here were over the moon friendly, helpful & most importantly, completely non-judgmental. Special shoutout to Isabella, who was the friendliest soul & super helpful & accommodating. This shop feels totally welcoming, with no condescending attitudes that i have found to receive as a non-pro female rider. Would recommend them 10x over!
Very knowledgeable and helpful manager at this store. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for a bike.
Great experience at this new store. The staff were professional, experienced and very knowledgeable, on cycling in general and on the details of Trek products. There was no pushy selling, I was given all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I used the Blue Book trade in that Trek now offer - this was very smooth and the offer for my trade was fair. The bike I wanted was ordered in, communication about the order was frequent and accurate. I cannot think of anything more I would want in a bike buying experience.
Ricardo went above and beyond.
He listened, did all in his power to help me out and restored my bike’s vitality.
Great customer service!
You could immediately feel that Ricardo has a good heart, and is a great man.
If you haven’t promoted him already please do so.
Amazing customer service. Mike and his team are excellent. I had my daughters bike serviced (not a trek bike fyi) and it runs superb now. very trustworthy, no upselling/hard sale tactics. Everything explained and straightforward on costs. Will be back and recommend to use.
My wife and I went to the grand opening event to purchase a helmet for her. The staff immediately greeted us and offered their assistance. Our salesperson was knowledgeable and extremely patient, as he had to go down into the store room several times to find the right helmet for my wife. We were each given a card that offered us $10.00 off any purchase. We also received Trek t-shirts. I was so happy, I purchased a set of handlebar grips and a water bottle for myself. I highly recommend this bike shop.
Unbelievable service from The entire team. They were patient, knowledgeable, and even helped suggest a few bike models that fit my riding preference, height, and style. I could not have been more impressed with the service and knowledge of the two ladies I spoke with. Can’t wait to go back and buy a bike!
The store is clean, the staff is attentive, respectful and hard working. They are assembling my bike (which isn’t even a trek bike) and they are very communicative. There was a piece missing from the manufacturer which is not an error on Treks end whatsoever. I was contacted by one of the staff immediately, and they ordered that piece within the hour. They are WORKING in that store and working hard. And, Not only is the store adhering by all regulations to keep its staff and customers safe, they are open to building and repairing bikes that aren’t even Trek brand. That shows that they do not discriminate when it comes to bike brands and they accept all brands of bikes to work on.
Customer Service at the UWS 72nd st location is outstanding. Every person I spoke with was very helpful and courteous. Evan really helped me find the bike (Trek Verve 2) that I had been looking for for months. He gave me all the information I needed in a kind and respectful manner. I have worked in Retail for 10+ years so my standards on good customer service are pretty high, and everyone here really exceeded my expectations. Trek customer for life.
The staff was soooo friendly and knowledgeable. I love my new bike! It is sooo light and smooth and quiet. I could have easily bought everything in the store. I cannot wait to take it for a long distance ride. I was like a kid in a candy store! I highly recommend TREK!
Always more than you paid for. I went in for my front brake to be fixed, and to tighten up my back brake, the guy said I needed a tuneup but they were too busy that day to do it. When I came back to pick it up he had fixed both brakes and tighten my handlebars for the price of my front brake. They always go above and beyond and are honest. They never rip you off like some of the other bike shops in this neighborhood.
The crew at 72nd St and Broadway are excellent at what they do. My bicycle rides like it's brand new!
I totally recommend quality care…. I bought my bike and today I am happy on my first outing. Alberto very very grateful
Let me start by noting that I am a life-long rider of Trek bikes. I had them when I was as young as I can remember. I rode long-distance from Seattle to Minneapolis on a Trek. My Trek Domane road bike is in its 8th season. I ride a lot and I ride a lot on Trek bikes.
My advice to anyone looking for service is to run in the other direction. Run from a bike store? Why not ride? Because once they're done 'servicing' your bike, it's probably not going to work right.
I brought my bike in for a regular tune up this week. It was having some issues shifting in the back gear. This was a glaring issue in the shifting, not some subtle tweak. I picked it up and took it for a ride this weekend and the exact same issue was still there. It didn't seem like anyone even looked at it.
It's one thing for a mechanic to make a mistake, to mistune something. That's happened to me before. When that happens, a good mechanic acknowledges the issues, fixes it, and owns it. Those are the businesses you patronize for years and years.
This was different. They either didn't look at my bike, in which case I paid 90 bucks for my bike to stay in a comfortable bike hotel for a few nights. Or, the person who looked at it was so rushed, incompetent, or both that the person who 'looked at' it missed it. I cannot be sure which it was, but that's not a business I need to frequent.
In their defense, they claim to have fixed the issue. That's nice. But it's unprofessional to miss a glaring issue in the first place.
Take my advice and take your business elsewhere.
***Update after speaking to the store. They refunded me and seemed to understand the issues into the maintenance group. Review bumped to 3. I’ll give them another chance.***
Another great experience with the Trek boys at 72nd St., Tony; Ricardo; Alberto and the floor associates go above and beyond for their customers! The communications and follow up when bike is ready via text keeps you informed
to when pick up is ready.
Alberto their top mechanic did a superlative job on my Pinarello bottom bracket and also replacing four bearings for my Colango wheels and my bottom bracket.
Alberto’s workmanship is above and beyond, no creeks or sounds , no more play and no more issues!
Thanks
Exceptional and friendly service
I went to get a puncture repaired on a wheel and also get both wheels trued. Mike who was the service engineer and Ewan who was the customer relations person were both immensely helpful. Mike completed the tasks within 20 minutes and was extremely helpful in explaining what he had done. Highly recommend this shop. Both Ewan and Mike deserve their kudos!!
I went into this store months ago to look at a Domane and Tori (she no longer works there) could not have been more helpful. I couldn’t buy the bike at the time but I kept going back to look at it. I was thinking to myself that I’m the guy who keeps going and looking, wasting the staff’s time and never buying. Yet, every time I went in I got the same enthusiasm from whoever was working. These people love matching customers with the perfect bike, even down selling me at one point. Anyway, months go by, Covid happens and my purchase gets delayed even longer. I finally make it back in July, and they all remembered my name and and the bikes I was looking at. After endless discussions I chose a Madone SLR and could not be happier with my purchase. It’s not just the bike, but the whole experience. Dropping that kind of dough is a big deal and Tony, Mike and Evan made me feel so comfortable and confident with my purchase. When the transaction was over I was thinking I should take these guys out for beers. Everyone at this store is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, AND THEY CARE. As long as I live in the tri- state area, this is my bike shop. Walk in there, see how you are treated, and you won’t go anywhere else either. This is the best customer service I have ever experienced in any type of store. And while I’m here may I suggest taking the Madone on a test ride, it will change your life.
So wonderful that this business is staying open for repairs! They were very accommodating when my tire blew out. They fixed the tire and gave my bike a tuneup, and patiently made the small adjustments I needed to have a comfortable ride. Thank you for being there!
Went there to get a new tire after a flat. They were friendly, fast and professional. They even let me use their restroom which was a relief after walking 7 miles with my bike to the shop.
Great service. I received my bicycle fender set at a great price and while there were some delays the customer service in the end was great. I was completely satisfied with how they resolved my issue and their promise to make things right which they did!
Courteous staff had my online order Bontrager multi tool,Bontrager comuter pedals ready for pick up.Shop has everything you need for your bike.
Great bike shop. Recently brought in my older bike for some work. No bike snobbery here like other bike shops. They're friendly & ready to help. The guy really took extra time to make sure everything was working well. Very happy.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Greeted me warmly as soon as I entered the store. Answered all my questions and helped me with making my purchase.
Great experience from Mike and Elisha. Super friendly and helped me with everything i needed. Honest feedback and advice on buying a used bike, free assessment, and I bought a lock and accessories
Came in to buy a Wavecell helmet - these are safe, well styled and comfortable. Store had good inventory, well displayed and associates were pleasant to work with. Nice space.
Great selection, amazing employees. Fabia helped me pick out a few accessories and she was nothing but kind, knowledgeable, and professional (especially patient, as I enjoy browsing). Prices can be higher than you might be used to but products are excellent quality.
Mike and crew @ 72nd st on the West side we're awesome! Great communication since my bike had to get delivered. Very knowledgeable crew. Super friendly. Awesome experience!!! Definitely recommend going there.
Great service. They were 'on it' from start to finish. Even managed to get information to the carrier about how to find the bike because I had to go out. Reassembled the bike perfectly, even washed it down!
The sales person was extremely helpful. She was very patient with us as we debated how to het a surfboard rack on the Trek. Very thorough.
Great experience buying an ebike from this store. The salesperson was personable and knowledgeable and I got my bike in just a week. Careful Covid practices, too. One customer at a time in the shop.
Staff is great! I went in about a broken light mount, and they were able to give me one at no cost. As a Trek owner I know I will be back soon!
The staff is helpful and friendly. I had my 20 year Trek serviced recently. The cost of repair work was reasonable, and the work was done quickly. I am very happy that this story opened in the neighborhood.
I got a number of things from the store , and the person of the store helped me with each of those things …
I went in shopping for a bike lock, and the salesperson was so pleasant, and she knew all about the products. I will definitely go back the next time I need anything for my bike.
This place is awesome and the staffs here were friendly and knowledgeable. Each one takes part in taking care of the customer which is very rare in many places. Thumbs up to the Trek team at 72nd and always hope you remain the same wonderful people. Thank you again🙏 …
Staff was amazing, I shipped my bike across country and they did an amazing job with the rebuild and completed within 24 hours. Highly recommend.
Awesome place! Super fast service.
Friendly . all employees are there. And always deliver quality service and make sure everything is well before you ride off. Also cheap and affordable
You know those snobby bike shop sales people? Trek doesn't seem to hire them. Just a bunch of really nice, normal people, and a super clean and friendly space. A+
Trek on W72nd did a full tune-up of my 12-year-old bike, and it rides like new (and sounds much quieter!). I highly recommend their service department.
I like the bikes, their designs and the different types. The staff are all very friendly and professional. The store is organized and modern.
People are very nice especially Andrew and Michael who helped me solve some bike issues. Also the labor price is reasonable and it works very well.
Came in for a bike, got a beautiful bike and feel confident I can come back with any questions. Staff superhelpful.
Riki and Mike were great. Got me on a new gravel bike in under an hour. Good advice and terrific service.
