I do not do many reviews but when service is amazing, I just have to do a review. What can I say but thank you, thank you, thank you!! I bought a Trek FX3 about a 1 1/2 years ago from David's and was impressed with the people and service at that time. Since then, I have done other business with the store and again just so impressed. Every time I go into the store without an appointment, the staff (I usually go the Seminole Store) would be so welcoming and take care of my bike right away. I have been wanting to upgrade my bike for a while. I finally was able to secure a 49 cm Domane AL 4 Disc from the Gainesville store. I finally picked it up today and again the staff was amazing!! Thank you all for taking the time and energy to get my bike pedals on and make sure my seat was adjusted correctly. I highly recommend anyone wanting a bike in Florida to go to one of the David World Cycle stores. You will not be disappointed.

My MIPS Rally helmet took a branch to the plastic, floating MIPS and there are no replacement parts; this is grounds for a new helmet. I was in need of a helmet, on short notice, and wanted one that had the helmet mount for Bontrager lights. Trek had the Blaze Wavecel, helmet online for 50% off in certain colors/sizes. I contacted the store by phone, and they confirmed they had the helmet, in my size and color choice. I asked if they could hold it until the next day. I drove to the store the next day. They had the helmet behind the counter with my name on it. Even though the helmet was not the same size as the website, they honored the pricing. I know a lot of this sounds like: “isn’t this just a normal transaction”. —yes it is. But it was refreshing to have a polite salesman answer the phone, listen AND ACKNOWLEDGE my situation. Additionally, it was refreshing that the store actually had the product IN THE STORE! In this day and age, EVERY business RARELY has the product(s) on hand and they us the phrase “we can order that in for you.” Very happy with Trek Gainesville.

Great product line. I've been looking at the competition and for the quality, reliability, features and price in my opinion you can't beat a Trek. As far as David's World Cycle goes, they're all about customer service. Everyone is always eager to answer any and all questions and give sound advice. Instead of making the extra dollar I was told I DIDN'T really need an upgrade I was thinking about because it wouldn't be all that beneficial. Honesty and integrity. I won't go anywhere else.

We are not locals, but our oldest kid is, for a few years, at least. In our visits to purchase a bike with her and to follow up for accessories, they have been as kind and helpful to us as to the locals they know by name. They have absolutely everything needed for biking as transportation and hobby. Our adventure today was for a minor piece of our bike rack rig. We own one of the hardware pieces in question, but it was several hundred miles away. They helped us figure it out so the bike could hit the interstate safely (attached to the family van, of course.) Last spring, when we actually purchased the bike, they took all the time and attention to fit her for frame size and make sure the comfort and utility were appropriate. She has been delighted with the bike through her whole freshman year, as it does all the things she wants without a lot of fussy gadgets she won't bother with. It has been just as perfectly durable as promised, and she has definitely put it through all the usual tests (weather, crowded bike racks, a few minor bike vs pavement moments, etc.) We have other kids who will be in college soon, and we will be here again. I have heartily recommended them for friends with students here. For college students, unless you have a wildly devoted connection to a bike shop in your hometown, it's great to work with a shop where the bike will be used and abused. In Gainesville, that is David's for us.

Took my 1998 Trek 520 in for bottom bracket and freewheel hub service. Quick repair and reasonable rates. When I stopped bye a few weeks earlier for a specialty lubricant, they did not have it in stock. They called other local shops, found it and sent me over. I can say that they have the customers best interest in mind when working with you. I understand they have. 30 day ride guarantee. Seems these guys and gals get it. Assume they will continue to do well in the foreseeable future When I need a shop, this will be my go to.

We were eager to buy trek bicycles and saw the reviews for David's world cycle at Gainesville and decided to give it a shot. On the first day, Mr.Bob assisted us and recommended to try the Trek-FX series and gave us detailed explanation on the bicycle frame, posture and specifications of the bike. We were impressed and decided to go back again within a few days to get our bicycles. The next time JT assisted us and recommended to test ride the bicycle in the vicinity to see if we were comfortable with the bike and fixed the seat height as per our convenience. In fact, both Bob and JT allowed us to test ride as long as we wanted. We finally bought Trek FX-1 and FX-2 and have been the happiest customers since then. I would recommend David's world cycle for buying a new bicycle, its accessories or any of your repair as all the staff are welcoming and will always be at your service!

Simply an outstanding bike shop. I was in the market for a new mountain bike and shopped around quite a bit. The first thing that got my attention was Gator Cycle's lineup of demo bikes. I wasn't about to make that kind of purchase without trying out different makes and models. Gator cycles was the only shop to have a full set of different sizes to ride. The customer service and overall experience in this shop is just fantastic. I've been in there enough to see how they interact with other customers, and they treat everybody the same no matter what kind of bike they ride or their level of experience. The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up buying the Trek Fuel Ex8 and it's terrific. Absolutely no regrets about the purchase or choice of bike shops.

This is the first bicycle shop I went into and I must say the customer service was excellent!!! However, because it was the first one, I wanted to shop around a bit for price and quality comparison. I must have gone to about 10 more shops after that and tested probably 20-30 more bikes. So between quality of the bikes offered and the excellent customer service I went back to Gator Cycle to the very first bike I rode and knew I had made the right choice. They took the time to explain to me how it should feel when I sit on a bike and how to find the best fit for what I was looking for. There was also another person (I didn’t catch his name, but he has a beautifully full red beard). He was also helpful and very knowledgeable. Took my bike in to have some cables replaced and a simple tune up on the shifters. They did a great job and were really friendly. The guy I talked to was very knowledgeable and gave me his recommendations for maintenance on my bike, but was never pushy about me paying for extra things. The general atmosphere of the store is great. Feels like they are there to help you, not just to get you to buy something. Will be going back to them for everything I need.

Barring complications I was promised same day service on a brake job - front and rear pads would be replaced. David's delivered on that promise. My bike was ready in 4 hours and my brakes work perfectly. That was huge to me since a round trip to Gainesville is 100 miles. Thanks, David's!

Apparently it was backordered with a new expected date of June 2022 (about a year and a half after I ordered it). However, JT went the extra mile to help track it down at another store. I liked their communication. Four days ago, I online-ordered my new Trek road bike. Brett sent me a text message to confirm on the following day. These were on Sunday and Monday which are their store's non-business days, so the text communication was helpful. On Tuesday, Brett sent me an email to let me know that my new bike is ready to pick up. I went to the store to pick it up. Brett, asked "how are you doing?" And our communication about the bike started. Ashley helped me adjust my bike. All staff members occasionally came to help and collaborate. For example, Brett shared his experience to help me choose a type of saddle cover that I needed. So, I could pick up my bike and also purchase some accessories. On Wednesday, I came back to the store and heard Brett's "how are you doing?" again. I wanted to register for Velocare in addition to Flat Free that I registered on the previous day. Ashley helped me purchase Velocare. Then, I also wanted to fix the connection between my bike computer and it's sensor & magnet. Ashley and Boomer collaboratively helped me fix this. All in all, I think David's World Cycle's strength is their communication. They responded and collaborated when I needed some help. It was a great, positive experience. Thank you!

I went to Gator Cycle for the first time a couple of weeks ago to get a tire and have a wheel trued. The shop was impressive and had a good selection from road to mountain bikes - the best one I have seen in a long time. I have been a rider for over 60 years, so have been in a couple of other stores over the years. This one totally impressed me with their service and selection, and I recommended it to my sister-in-law who went and was so impressed that she bought a bike. The location is great for me also, and their big parking lot is easy to get in and out of.

I would be happy to comment on the absolute excellent service provided by Gator Cycle. Reservation process was extremely easy, rental equipment was amazing (carbon bikes, disc brakes, comfy saddles and helmets, newish bikes retailing for ~$3K) and best of all, the staff were super friendly and so helpful with maps, suggestions, advice, service and just so very knowledgeable about bikes and biking. Absolutely wonderful experience!!

I live on my bicycle, and having someone care as much about it as I do is always important. I got my handlebars wrapped today by a tech named Ben, and he was super helpful and even went out of his way to make the bars look aesthetically pleasing. He was also really knowledgeable and happy to answer all of my questions, which is a nice change from the "in and out" customer service I normally receive at other bike shops. The last few times I've been in have honestly just been for air in my tires. Even though it's a free service, the tech Michael is always friendly and takes his time to fill the tires to the right PSI. I work in retail and having great customer service even when you're not making a sale is a really rare characteristic. Every time I walk into Gator Cycle, the techs are always super nice, ready to help, and they even work in my budget with a 10% student discount. I recommend them to anyone who appreciates having a great one on one experience with real people who have a passion for cycling.

Went into David's World, my first time since transition from Gator Cycle, and was extremely pleased. I need a new shifter cable and front derailleur alignment. They take small jobs immediately. My wife and I both purchased newTrek Verve 3 bikes at David’s World Cycle. She got her’s in Gainesville,FL, I had to get mine at a different location as they were out of the men’s version. A month after buying mine, the gears kept slipping. Living in Gainesville, bringing mine to the Gainesville location was more convenient. I showed up on a Saturday, although they were busy, without hesitation, they immediately offered to adjust the gears! No questions asked, just superb service. They immediately diagnosed the issue and adjusted the gears. The gears now switch like butter. If your in the market for a quality bike from a shop that takes pride in their craft, I highly recommend David’s in Gainesville, FL!!!

Gator Cycle has been an amazing group of people to work with for both my wife and I. After almost a decade of not touching a bike, they got me setup and ready to ride even though the bike I purchased didn't come from their shop. After multiple trips to their location to "ooo and ahh" over a new Trek, I pulled the trigger on not only one for myself, but one for my wife as well. The girls got her setup with everything she needs to have a fun and comfortable ride, and the entire staff truly has your best interest in mind over just making a sale. A 10 doesn't cut it, they get a 12/10 from me.

Great store, great service. I went to buy a couple bikes and a trailer for my kid and these guys were great. Worked with a guy named Fred and the experience was good, gave me a great deal and was just really cool. I have since gone in for tune ups and repairs. I actually replaced a tube on my little girls trailer and it popped. May have been my fault, they gave me a new one and said don't worry about it. I take my bikes in for service, its done immediately. I have never had any problem at all, in fact its the opposite. Highly recommend. When I get new bikes, or need service, Im going back here.

I did a race in Georgia on Saturday and during post race cleanup found one if my suspension bolts was gone. Sadly it was late and I had to travel to Tampa in the morning. I found this bike shop in a Google search, thinking if I could get the part (I was not very optimistic since my lbs had to order it) Santos was in my future. Much to my surprise, they had recently done a parts swap on the same frame and had the piece. For $10 they had the part installed, and a very happy "new" customer. Excellent customer service! The rain gods on the other hand did not cooperate.

Though I got frustrated and upset, the management did make things right and went out of their way to legitimately resolve the issue and make sincere apologies. I did have some down time with my bikes, but they have gained a loyal customer by resolving the issue professionally. Things are going to happen, that's life. Its how a company deals with those problems is what makes them. Rest assured, you can trust they will make things right if things don't go to plan. As a lifelong resident of Gainesville, I have seen a number of bike shops open and close their doors over the years. While many great shops are now in business in town, Gator Cycle has become my go-to choice for maintenance, knowledge and gear. Gator Cycle is the longest operating bike shop in town, and their extremely knowledgeable staff is the reason why. Their mechanics and salespeople take the time to listen to your needs, to offer insight into the industry and work tirelessly to advocate on the behalf of cyclists in town. I have been impressed with the efforts the staff has made to assist customers in a genuine manner without constant concern for the “bottom line.” In my experience, Gator Cycle’s prices have always been fair and commensurate with the quality that they put into their work. Gator Cycle has consistently offered a student discount, and in my opinion, the best tune-ups in town. The recent renovations in the shop have made their already fantastic location more comfortable and convenient. I would encourage anyone to stop by to purchase or for service for their bike, or just to chat with the friendly, informed, and handsomely-bearded staff.

Good bikes, but a bit expensive – and read the fine print before you rent! Rented a road bike from Gator Cycle. Even though the rental fee was a bit on the expensive side (I've rented comparable bikes for only little more than half the price in Europe), I was initially quite satisfied. Friendly guys set up a very new, mint condition Trek Domane 4.3 for me – including a saddle bag with tire levers, a spare tube and a pump. I didn't read through the contract, they explained that I would have to pay for anything that I broke, and I left it at that. The bike was a pleasure to ride, but when I returned it 10 days and about 600 miles later, I was in for an unpleasant surprise. A guy I hadn't seen before explained that the bikes have to be returned "in the same condition", and there was significant wear on the one I was returning. I ended up paying a 15$ cleaning fee, 30$ for truing the wheels, and another 20$ for a new handlebar tape(!) – despite us agreeing that there was nothing wrong that wasn't attributable to wear during normal usage over the rental period. I've rented bicycles dozens of times before (not to mention other vehicles), and this was the first time I had to pay for cleaning and normal wear and tear upon return. Wish they would point out this very unusual practice more clearly. I don't regret renting from Gator Cycle, but would think about doing it again before they change this practice. This time, I ended up paying about 15% more than expected, which is nothing to get into a big argument about, but since the whole calculation upon return seemed rather arbitrary to me, I wouldn't know what to expect next time.

For me what makes a bike shop is the people who work there, and the employees at Gator Cycle are super friendly and helpful. I went in today to have my bike computer checked out as it had some glitches, hoping to just get some good advice. He then recommended another computer that would work better, and gave me a discount on it! Gator cycle is a good shop. They stand by their work, have an OK selection of parts (best you can hope for most shops nowadays), and their staff is fairly knowledgeable. However, I do not believe they are the best choice in town. They are significantly more expensive than other local shops, and incredibly more expensive than the Freewheel Project (though that is not a fair comparison since they are a non-for-profit). The staff at Gator Cycle were very helpful and took the time to listen and answer all my questions about MTB components and techniques. I rented a demo bike from them to help make my final decision. Long story short, I survived a traumatic accident about a year ago which left me with an amputation. Traditional bicycles have proven difficult for me to ride so Michael showed me their selection of recumbent trikes and took his time explaining the different types and nuances of the different models. Gator Cycle is outstanding: I was riding nearby with my disabled brother, who rides a Catrike purchased from GatorCycle, when the strap securing his pannier became entangled with the chain, causing him to stop abruptly while trying to cross the street. We were completely stuck, with a metal hook and elastic cord completely wrapped around the cassette. I rode my bike to Gator Cycle and asked for assistance, leaving my brother and his trike at the roadside. The staff could not have been more helpful! Adrian drove me from the store to my brother and his trike, and used tools to disassemble the cassette and make the Catrike ride-able once more. Back at the store, they checked the trike thoroughly and trued the wheel. For this fabulous service, they charged a nominal fee. We bought two Trek FX bikes yesterday from GATORCYCLE. We had previously looked around Gainesville, at several of the other bike shops and while they were all staffed w knowledgable, friendly employees,.. GC is by far the cleanest, best organized shop we've seen. We were sized for the bikes we were interested in, then took them for a 20-30 min test drive around Brandywine, to through some hills, etc. The bikes fit great and were in the price range we had expressed.. no pressure to buy a more expensive bike. Approximately 2yr ago I herniated a disc in my back at my L5/S1 during in service training while employed as a Deputy Sheriff. Prior to this injury, I was active in cycling and in fairly good shape. Please don’t assume that I feel sorry for myself, because I know others out there have it WAY worse than I do. Anyways, I recovered but still had the herniated disc. I was able to cycle again and get back after it when I moved back home. Although, I had gained A LOT of weight. With the extra weight gain, getting back to cycling caused a lot of pain so I stopped doing it. Not long after while working on the road, my back started to hurt more and more. I wasn’t motivated to workout because of the pain and I couldn’t cycle. One day while getting out of my patrol car, my back went out again. The whole cycle started over again with being out of work and having to get PT and such. This go around though, the doctor told me that if I continued my career in law enforcement it was only going to get worse and regardless, I was going to have to have surgery at some point in my life. The goal was to prolong surgery for as long as possible. He said my disc was completely dehydrated and he was certain I have degenerative disc disease. Well, I was already upset obviously about the fact that I knew I was probably going to have to change careers and I never considered that option. Some may not consider this a big deal, but for me it was. I asked that doctor if I would at least be able to ride my bike, and if not, what was my options. He said I should never ride a normal bicycle again because it would only worsen my back. I was honestly devastated and defeated. The doctor told me I should research a recumbent bile/trike. I was upset to hear that I needed to get a recumbent because I remember my momma had one, but to me, it was not cool or good for a work out. So, I just let myself go physically and was just defeated as a whole. Recently, I’ve had enough of being out of shape and I’ve missed cycling for stress relief and fitness. I’ve did some research on a dealer in Gainesville that sells recumbents. I saw they were pretty darn expensive, but I wanted to go and talk to an expert and take some test rides to see if it would really be worth it. They weren’t the same as the one my mom had and there were a lot of different models and colors to choose from. Seemed to be a lot “cooler” than what I’ve seen in the past. Well, I drove over to GatorCycle in Gainesville and met with recumbent expert, Michael Spugnardi, and got educated and took some test rides. I was sold! He was very knowledgeable and was the first sales man I’ve ever talked to that actually was concerned for my health and budget. He had actually had back surgery, so we were able to relate with what it was like to have this injury and not being able to do what we love in cycling. He gave me the best advice by telling me to go home, think about it and see if I can afford it and to make sure I pick the best one that fits me The last several weeks I’ve prayed about it, done the budget a million times, tried to close sales to make extra money and researched for hours and hours. Well, today I went and met with Michael, test drove two of the models I was debating on getting and came home with a Catrike Villager!!! I’m so thankful and I excited that I have a way to cycle and workout without being in pain. I’m looking forward to being motivated again and getting back in shape! If there is anybody reading this that has similar issues, go talk with Michael at GatorCycles in Gainesville. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He truly cares about his customers.
