Great service and price. I have a Dutch bike and got puncture-resistant inserts and tubes installed there. The mechanic there had serviced dozens of Dutch bikes for the same mod (a challenging fit for those kinds of bikes). Point is the shop had lots of experience and made suggestions based on all that experience. Since the mod I've been in love with my bike.
Oh, and the overall bill was way below what I assumed. They are not price gouging, which might be easy to do in our market.
Just perfect staff and service.

The crew didn't disappoint! From my first contact with Henry to my ending check out guy (i didnt get his name). Jason was able to find the problem and get me back on the road in a timely manner. I have ridden my bike over 100 miles since the fix and it shifts smoothly which is essential for the area where I live. Thanks SO much!!
4/2021 Great customer service today! Getting my bike overhauled there in a few weeks. Will write more after I see (and use) the result.
Later..they did a great job! Expensive..but it was the first extensive work I've had on my bike since I bought it 10 years ago.

Well, this is my 2nd trip taking a vintage bike to WS Bicycle. This time I brought a 1982 Mangusta…an Italian frame built by Motobecane (French) commissioned by an American company Mongoose/Mangusta…..what could go wrong. Campi brakes and drive with some crazy French components. Chad is the old school tech who previously overhauled my pre Trek Bontrager ( awesome job by the way) and went the extra mile on this one. Complete over haul, resourced a vintage Campi Galli rear brake, a suitable 6 ring freewheel, interior rust abatement on the frame….just to name a few things. Total effort to bring it back to its original glory. I had tried, got frustrated, went out for a beer. I have 5 bicycles, and this is now my favorite. If you like vintage bikes, but don’t know where to go, he’s the guy. If you have a
newer bike they are the store. (They have given some love to my Specialized Crux too) Great store and good people. West Seattle is lucky. Just looking for a vintage saddle now. This is my first review in 6 years!

Best experience I've ever had in a bike shop. Although just a small fix, the owner took the time to ensure my girlfriend's bike got back in shape free of charge. If anyone needs outstanding service on their bike in the Seattle area, go here!

I've been dumbfounded by the quality of exceptional customer service and just plain old basic human kindness/generosity from Peter at Westside Bicycle. A more kindhearted, patient, better human I don't know I've met. It was a bit of a journey trying to find the perfect bike to suit my needs during the pandemic with the bridge down. I was anxious about spending the kind of money I was spending and making certain everything was perfect. Probably I was fairly high maintenance. Peter was patient with my process and concerns. He made certain everything met my incredibly high expectations. Super responsive in his communication. He provided home delivery/pick up more than once when I had concerns about bringing my child into the shop during pandemic times and didn't have childcare available. He really just wants happy customers and to see people out on their bikes enjoying what they are doing. Thanks to Peter and Westside Bicycle our whole family is out cycling nearly every day and I have the perfect bike to suit my life right now. Amazing that during this time when bikes are flying off shelves and shops are overwhelmed by orders that we found what we needed for our family to stay sane and healthy. Peter even took my 5yo son into the parking lot and helped him with a personalized riding lesson on the hottest afternoon of the year even though he was busy. He went so far beyond generosity. Anyone who takes the time to really listen to and talk with a 5 year old amidst the chaos of this crazy world is a rare treasure and good person. We've been blessed to have had such great care. And shout out to Nolan for helping me with the mirror issue on my way home from work Friday evening even though it stretched beyond closing time. Big thanks.

I always have a good experience here. Friendly people who know their stuff and want to help. Once I was sold a wheel that wasn't quite burly enough for my 200 lb self and was given a new sturdier one for only the extra cost of the wheel.

It's really convenient that it's right by alki. Need a new tube or bike part they have it. Adjust your seat or handle bar they have a tool you can use really quick. Flat tire? Bike pump available. I just try to get in and out and not do a lot of talking.

I stopped in to Westside and was happy to find in stock the model and size bike I wanted. However, what really pleased me was the service from the team. Jason, Hailey, and the guy working on the bikes that day all were helpful, genuine, downright human! I bought the bike, they prepped it to spec, and I picked it up the same day, and couldn't be happier with the bike and the experience. We've bought bikes for our kids here as well (same excellent experience), and we're delighted to support this local shop. Thank you!

I LOVE Westside bicycle. As a woman who has a lot of outdoor hobbies, I frequently dread going to gear shops because the people who work there can be condescending and unwelcoming. But not Westside!! I avoided taking my bike in for some repairs, I finally took it to Westside and they were super helpful, thorough, and just plain nice. I have been back since and it will definitely be my go to shop from now on. I have been here for off the shelf parts, detailed tune up, and a flat when I realized I didn't have a tube on me
Emily Strom
So glad to have this bike shop in West Seattle! The team is kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are my destination for tune ups and advice!

nice people, gorgeous shop, great work, and fair prices! I really like this shop even though my experience their was brief. the employees were kind and I really appreciated the help getting my bikes to and inside my van! ready to start riding now! thanks everyone! we’ll be back.

Had a really great experience working with Westside Bicycle. The staff is super friendly and helpful, they took the time to answer our questions and make sure we were getting the service we need. We had 2 road bikes and a mountain bike serviced and we are happy with the service on all of them. They were very upfront about what could be realistically fixed, or may not may not need fixing at all. They gave us good worst case quotes and set "do not exceed without calling" cost thresholds that I found very helpful. Once the mechanics looked at the bikes, they called to let us know they actually needed far less work than originally expected. I appreciate the honesty and commitment to quality service!
Will Drew
Big fan of Westside Bicycle for service on both my road bike and my E bike. Staff were very friendly when I brought in my E-bike for brake replacement; even though I brought it in on the wrong date of service, they still tuned them up before rescheduling my major overhaul. Will keep bringing my Rad bike and all my family's bikes here.

The owner Peter is a great guy and an asset to the cycling community. The rest of the staff are professional and skilled mechanics. This shop has transformed over the last few years into a really special place. The location is a little tough to get to right now but it's worth the trouble. The building is interesting and constantly transforming into a better space for customers. I recommend that people put Westside high on their list of favorite Seattle bike shops.
Steve Loeppky
The service here is amazing. I scheduled a bike fit back in September, and got first class treatment from the owner. He was great to chat about life, and spent a ton of time with me. I was able to get a new saddle with proper fit at reduced cost as it was left over from a recent bike sale where the purchaser didn't need the stock seat. I've been letting all my friends in West Seattle know about it, and this place has definitely become my bike shop of choice. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!!!
Seth Sonenthal
Never been to this shop before, however since they are in my neighborhood, decided to try out their repair shop for a flat tire. They treated me excellent! All I needed was a tube replaced and they not only did a perfect job, they cleaned up my tire and did a quick check of the bike. They are honest, dependable and care about their customers. This is a real review, look at my profile and you can see that I give honest real reviews.
This is my new bike shop and I am thoroughly impressed.
Carrie Fischer
West Side Bicycle is the BEST! I have gone to them for a variety of things, from shoes, to tune up and have always been very happy. Today I called with a problem I was having putting my new bike together and the suggestion given was a bit unorthodox, but completely spot on and worked like a charm! You guys are great!!!
Sebastien Pfeiffer
Good mechanics, reasonable prices and fast service. Fixed my carbon Cannondale's cracking noise in the bottom bracket. I did not have an appointment and it was ready a couple hours later. Highly recommend!
Joe Ott Soulbikes
The shop has changed a great deal over the years as they learned more about the local customers needs and remodeled the building to suit the work of bicycles instead of train boiler rebuilding. The staff is friendly, experienced and part of the cycling community. Having staff that actually cycles and not just making money on the community means a lot.

I had an absolutely AMAZING experience here, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND my family and friends to Westside Bicycle.
My husband and I brought our very inexpensive bikes here to be serviced so we could just have some fun and ride around town now that the weather is getting nice..
When we got there the store was closed, however, the owner brought us in and took care of us anyway! So nice and unexpected!
We had great conversation while waiting for my bike to be repaired, we didn’t feel judged for the low quality of our bikes- or pressured into replacing them with new bikes from the shop.
When the time comes -which it will- (sooner than later) to purchase new bicycles - let it be known that Westside Bicycle has our loyalty and we will be coming back!
BIG THANK YOU !!
Catlyn Gomez
My boyfriend and I went to the shop for the first time today with the intention of pricing out bikes for each other as Christmas presents. We were instantly greeted with friendly, knowledgeable service from Mitchell. Who found the perfect bikes for us. After realizing their prices were unbeatable, we purchased two bikes and a rack. At this point the shopping experience was good enough. However, Mitchell threw in two helmets and a pump for practically nothing. The icing on the cake: he help my boyfriend install the bike rack. We couldn’t be happier with Westside Bicycle and we are looking forward to going back for all our future cycling needs.

I had an amazing experience shopping here two weeks ago. I was helped promptly by an employee and shown the bikes I was looking for. He offered to explain to me all of the different bikes, and when I picked one out to try, he had me ready for a test ride in no time. When I was ready to purchase, they had the bike prepped and ready for sale in a snap, even putting on the new handles and seat I wanted, free of charge. On top of that, the owner came over, alerted me to some scratches on the frame (that I didn't even know were there) and just gave me 20% off the price of the bike on the spot! I'll be returning here for all of my cycling needs in the future. Awesome shop.
Stephanie Nesbitt
SO HELPFUL and sweet! I didn't grab the associates name, but she was so nice and helpful. My e-bike was stolen in West Seattle during the quarantine and I was told to call bike shops around the area and give my info and descriptors of the bike in case it can be recovered. Westside Bicycle was really help and wanted to help me find my bike. Would definitely use them in the future for bike fixings!
Tony Kasunic
Bought my specialized sirrus 2.0 here, great buying experience, no pressure, knowledgeable staff. They definitely pointed me in the right direction, I ride the bike everyday, and for a $600 entry level hybrid fitness bike I really love my specialized. I also use it in my Zwift setup so I can ride indoors as well. Great place to buy or service your bike!
zachary oster
Amid all of the chaos of the crisis the owner and staff were extremely helpful in finding me a bike to purchase that met my needs. They took the time to talk to me about different bike set ups and what would be best for me and my goals. I will definitely continue my business here at this shop.
Jon Rehkopf
I usually try to do all my own bike repairs, but I was having problems with my BB after I recently swapped it out. I went to CycleU for the first time and found them to be very helpful and willing to explain the issue so I could solve it myself the next time. I appreciated their approach. I had a great experience and will definitely return to this shop again.
Cameron Clay
Always helpful team from sales to service. I have had several bikes serviced here and they consistently find a way to fix things without the need to purchase anything. I trust their expertise and helpful staff to guide me in the right direction. 5 star for sure.
Michael Rafael
I got into cycling and these guys are right down the street from my work. I needed a carbon fiber handle bar and some chain lube and these guys had it all. And to top it off, very friendly and great customer service!
Julie Christiansen
Everyone was beyond great! Extremely helpful and they put my bike back to rideable after 20 years and it was less then they had even quoted! Super friendly and helpful! I absolutely recommend them!
Jessie Lukasik
The team at Westside is top-notch - friendly, helpful, skilled, and genuine. I've taken both my bikes (carbon fiber triathlon bike and road bike) here for the past two years since moving to West Seattle, and they have always provided fast, high-quality service. The guys at Westside are always upfront with you about your options for products, pricing, and services and will work with you to find exactly what you need at a price that fits your budget. Highly recommended.

This place is great! Took in my "vintage" bikes so my wife and I could get riding again. I didn't get the name of the man that helped me but he was awesome. Told us what was going on with the bikes and got them up to speed. Didn't try to upsell and was knowledgeable and friendly. This is how you conduct business. You have have gained lifelo g customers.
Cheng C
Those guys there are very friendly and professional. They were able to root cause and quickly fix the clicking and cracking sounds coming from my rear and front derailleurs. Good location, awesome staffs, quick service and reasonable price. Would highly recommend it!

My year long experiment of living in West Seattle is coming to an end, and this has been my bike shop for that time.
In terms of their retail offers, which I didn't partake of much, they lean more towards roadies and fair-weather cyclists, but they still have things commuters need and want.
This review is more about their repair services.
Westside got both my road and touring bikes back up and running after 9 months of not riding at all and years of needed maintenance (aka, being poor). The wheels they installed on my road bike have held up well even with my more-than-featherweight body and heavy messenger bag.
The reason I'm giving them five stars and writing this review is their great response to a recent, not so great, experience. I had them adjust the front derailleur on my road bike, and when I got it back I did notice the brakes were wide open. Adjusted those back, checked the QRs, drop test, headed out for a ride on one of the few warm sunny days we've had recently (I put studded tires on my winter bike when the weather gets cold, so getting to ride on a fast and quiet road bike is a huge treat). Heading south on California Ave, in traffic, slightly downhill, maybe going 25 mph, I see the light change a ways in front of me and start downshifting. When I shift to the largest cog on my cassette, my rear wheel completely locks up. I managed to stay upright, skid to a stop, and move to the sidewalk. After fighting with the chain caught between the cassette and the spokes for ten minutes, I finally carry my bike 2 miles home.
So not happy. This has not happened in 12 years of owning that bike, with half a dozen, at least, different shops working on it, plus my own futzing with the rear derailleur. It takes me a week to bring it into them (moving, work, plus I don't own a car so transporting a bike that can't roll and has an unremovable rear wheel is difficult).
Westside, and specifically Jason, handled the situation very well. Apologized, new chain, new spokes, new rear tire, made sure everything was adjusted correctly.
So yeah, mess-ups happen. It's human. Westside took ownership of their mistake and fixed it. So five stars.

Great service, tried ordering a Giant part from another shop that was also a Giant dealer, wasted almost 2 months waiting .And when the shop finally got the part it was missing an essential piece. Went to Westside Bicycle and they got the correct part in less than 2 weeks Appreciate the service and professionalism. Thanks again.

This is truly a one stop to fix a bike, Jason Valliant and other mechanics there are terrific. Jason is the most i deal with thou. whenever I go there I’ll wait to deal with him this guy will basically tear apart your bike to find out what’s wrong! He did it a few times without even charging me he’s really professional it was the slow season though he’s not one of the mechanics to tell you to buy a new piece. he will find out what’s wrong and he will fix it, if he can’t fix it then he’ll tell you to buy a new pice, unlike other bike shops Without even barely looking at it they will tell you to buy a new piece. Jason will actually evaluate it: look at it, ride it and try to figure out what’s wrong. Without you even buying nothing or paying for the Service (of course somethings he can’t always do it for free there is always a labor charge). The other day I had my racing cleats he will turn it over and Ride It on his work shoe. Never seen that done before. don’t like the way they take their tips though you put it in a jar for the team.( it’s better going on Wednesdays or Thursday)days there’s less rush people can look at your bike better). These bike shop is way out of my way but worth the trip! usually the staff looks at me weird I have a hard time talking but, oh well sh*t happens! Like I order parts and the venders always ship the wrong parts back to the bike shops where I order them from??? It’s not just this one it’s Multiple ones these past couple of years.
Brett Hanson
Ordered my bike and picked up at WB. Top notch customer service and great people. The owner had my bike built, charged and ready to rock. Gave me a great rundown on the bike before leaving. Excited to have WB as my local West Seattle shop!
Eric Roe
This is a GREAT shop. They have helped me with a couple minor mid-ride issues when I popped in, no charge, just good will. Besides being knowledgeable (which they are, and several of them race) this is exactly the type of service I expect out of a great neighborhood shop! (And something I have not seen with the other shops in the area...) Well done guys!
** They are also active in the community, they sponsor races and a local bike team, get people engaged with volunteering for events, have shop rides and clinics, post (actually informative) information on their social outlets/webpage. This is the EXACT type of store that we need to help support as cyclists.
They are a specialized dealer, so a lot I'd their in store product line-up is specialized brand, but they can order just about anything, and I happen to like a lot of the specialized stuff. I'm sure they can work on any brand, though, so don't let that stop you. Highly encourage folks to stop by for their biking needs.
Federico Ramos Puente (Spaniard)
These guys know their bikes! Super helpful and chill people. No pressure to buy anything. Everyone here is amazing and willing to help. Great bike shop and great people working here.

BEST BIKE FITTING IN SEATTLE! Craig was awesome coming into the shop. He greeted and answered any questions I had. His bike fit was extremely thorough and helped me get rid of some pain I was having while biking. He is extremely knowledgable about cycling and fitting and has taken classes and earned certificates in each one through Specialized Bicycle Company. I won't go anywhere else from now on.
Bradley Chittick
I have used this shop for multiple repairs and purchases and they have been great every time! The service and follow up communication is what you always want but don't always get at other places. Westside Bicyles impresses me every time I enter their shop no matter who is helping me.
Phillip Bush
Fantastic bike shop! The people who work here are truly top notch. My bike is sporting a fair number of components from this spot. Location can't be beat either as you can leave the shop and drop right on to the Alki Beach trail or smash it up either Avalon or Admiral.
Jacob
Absolutely wonderful place to buy and service your bike. Good people - good pricing - and even offered us a loaner e-bike to use, for free, while they waited for a part to be delivered.
Don Purnama (Donco)
I popped my tube on the way here and they were the nearest bike shop. Thinking it was like any other bike shop one of the reps were kind enough to show me how to remove and install tubes. Not only that, but they realized my wheel had a problem and they fixed that, for free. They're generosity and patience makes me want to come back, if I ever have a problem again. Thanks guys!
Jazmine
Very friendly and professional service. I went in through the wrong door though lol. I should have realized that from the step being so high. They helped me figure out what bike will work best for me and they let me test ride to be sure.
Alena Fitzpatrick
I had an excellent experience at Cycle University! Reinout helped me out tremendously by analyzing my ride style in order to get rid of the shoulder pain I was feeling. He watched me ride and took the time to adjust my handle bars and seat in order to make my riding experience much better! Not only did he take the time to do this, but he also put me into a new pair of shoes which are much more stiff than my old ones. I took my bike out yesterday for the first time since the adjustment and had a wonderful ride, no pain, and a great time! Thank you, Reinout, and Cycle University! I will definitely be back!
Keith
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Always offering to help me out with my bike and teach me something new in the process. This is the type of bike shop that I’m happy to spend money at.
Jonathan Taylor
E-Bikes can be a big headache, and I am glad I went to Westside Bicycle for the repair and tune-up. Aaron, their E-Bike specialist, took the time even when I return with another issue and got my beast of a bike running again. Thanks, 110% has my recommendation.
Chris Lucero
I wish, and soon hope, they will start to service electric scooters. There’s an incredible demand for service and an incredible rise in the amount of scooters we see on the roads and paths. Start to capture the business my friends.
Creighton Yost
Go to this shop. It'll certainly be your next favorite bike shop. The downside, their new bike inventory is medium sized, but the upside is the staff is top notch. We've all been to bike shops that are sell first and talk later shops, and ones that are only focused on elite cyclists (talking to you neon spandex corporate jersey cleat waddle walk guy), but this shop is warm and welcoming to anyone interested in two wheel travel. Reinout will greet you at the door and is there for anything you need. He knows his stuff and is a great listener as well. The shop itself is wide open and breezy and right on the beginning of the Alki trail, so stop by and use the free bike pump, grab some cold drinks for your ride and get to know your new favorite bike shop.
Mike Mullen
Great service. They went above and beyond to get my bike fixed so I could race it on the weekend.
Justin Mayfield
The whole team is great! Jason went above and beyond with a warrantee issue with my derailleur. Top notch, pro-level service.

Ben Hall

Gayatri Kalyanaraman
These guys are the best! At the end of a long bike ride, my fenders popped out and my brake aligent was off. I stopped here 10 mins before they closed and they fixed the bike in a couple of mins and had me on my way.
Keri Thompson
Nice little bike store. Always seems busy. The employees are great! Very helpful with their knowledge and time.
Darren Hunter
The spot to get the bike, bike stuff, anything bike! Great staff and sell everything from kids bikes to e bikes to mountain to gravel to serious road bikes!! Amazing service and products. Check them out in West Seattle!

Moving overseas and your shop unpacked two new bikes so that I can pack and ship my bikes in these boxes. You have always gone above and beyond the call of duty and I thank you for all your great service while I lived in West Seattle this past decade.

Knowledgeable staff. Some race, some cruise, some just like bikes for what they are. It would be nice if their computer systems were faster though, it takes them a few minutes to find parts.
