Reviews of The Bikery
This place is great. I don't know much about bikes and the folks here were super helpful and careful to explain what I should be looking for in a commuter bike. They also pointed me to Recycled Cycles, which is up by the University of Washington campus. 100% these people live and breathe bikes, so you can trust them.
What an awesome place! I was helped by Jeff, who is super knowledgeable, friendly, and relaxed. He taught us a lot. The shop is well stocked with tools and supplies. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to fix their bike!
Excellent little nonprofit bike shop, with friendly volunteer staff on site to assist while you complete repairs on your own ride. Tons of used parts, and a community vibe. Come here to get some knowledge, fix your bike and meet some cool folks in the biking community. Used bikes are available for sale.
I visited The Bikery to fix up my brakes and add a bike rack and basket to my bike, and I was warmly greeted by Aaron, one of the volunteers who works there. I shared with Aaron the things I intended to work on, and indicated that I was not quite sure what to do, and he said "no problem, I'm happy to help you out. Let's have a look." I learned several great tips for adjusting brakes, learned about how to lube my shifters, and with Aaron's help to find a spacer part to make the bike rack fit over my disk brakes, got the bike rake and basket on as well. The vibe felt very warm and folks felt like community -- everyone was working on their own thing, often using used parts and shared tools. I would go here again just to work on my bike in good company.
These guys are great! New to the area, and wish I had known of them earlier! First time in yesterday, and they were very helpful with installing some fenders on the ride for the wet weather. Great deal too. I highly recommend--
The Bikery is great! I've learned so much here over the years: how to true wheels, how to replace a bottom bracket, plus basic stuff like the best way to change a flat. An amazing resource for learning as well as cheap parts. Check it out!
Great volunteer run shop. They guide you thru doing your own repairs and help as needed. Nice to have a place in the neighborhood with tools and stands. Makes working on the bike easy, fun and social.
This place is super solid! Learned how to change my tire / replace the inter tube. Yes, I am a novice, but less of one than the day I walked into the Bikery with a flat :)
Had a great experience. Having very little knowledge, Mike was a super good teacher and very patient with me. Would definitely recommend!
Feeling super lucky to have a whole shop worth of bike tools at my disposal! Thanks to the super friendly and helpful staff for answering all my questions.
Super helpful, relaxed, well equipped
Very bike kitchen. They have the patches that I love.
Simply awesome, fixed two bikes in one hour, happy rider since, I will be back!
Excellent space and so helpful!
