Rented a bike for biking in the afternoon. Staff there are super helpful and friendly. I also asked for trail recommendation, they recommend Burke Gilman trail, which I like so much! Will definitely come back.

Great Service: Attitude and Professionalism.
It does not seem to be often that efficiency and respect are the standards for businesses, but they seem to be here.
I needed to purchase the least expensive usable bike I could find, and I made that clear to one of the workers. He took the time to answer all my questions and introduced me to a used bike which fit the bill, with no pressure to purchase. It was a fine deal which functioned fine and I walked out with it that day.
A few days later I was gifted a heavily used project bike that fit and attracted me more. I returned the one I had bought with no complications.
I then had a repair done on the project bike. David was very patient, knowledgeable and walked me through his thoughts, answering all my questions. During the repair process he kept me updated and asked some clarifying questions. My bike was repaired in record time for a fair price and is much more functional.
10/10 experience.

I love this bike shop. It's not the fanciest. It's not the cleanest. But at the end of the day they do good work for the price and don't gouge you or pressure you into service you don't need. Been going here for years and tried other places along the way but I tend to have the best experience with the mechanics here.

Rented two bikes today and had a great experience. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Tons of value for the cost–the bikes were brand new and in great condition. Highly recommend.

Was shopping for a bike with a specific budget in mind and Micah helped me find just the one I was looking for. There is a good selection here and the employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Great bike shop for beginners like me, and seeing how wide the selection is, I’d imagine it’s great for enthusiasts also!
Alan Ness
Love this place. They have done small adjustments for me on the spot. With the latest tune-up they found a loose spoke and tightened it up, no charge. Always exceeding my expectations.
Taylor Schoenfeld
I absolutely recommend Recycled Cycles. The staff (Pat & Dave) are very professional and kind. They helped me get back on two wheels after mine were stolen from the UW campus. They even installed locking skewers in the wheels, which I would also highly recommend. I will definitely be back for future cycling needs.
Edward Hernandez
This shop is the best place to find affordable used bike parts at great prices. They always have what I need and the staff are amazing!

I called all over Seattle to rent a bike for a week. Recycled was the only place to really offer the service, the cross bike I got was perfect and well-tuned. They even put SPD-SL pedals on to match the cleats I brought from home. The included bike rack, bungee chord, and flat kit were icing on the cake. Would rent here again in a heartbeat.

This is by far the best bike shop I’ve been to in Seattle! Love the people and they are always trying to help you out without making you pay more than you need to. My drop bar snapped and they were able to fix it for $65 including labor and new bar tape. Excellent service!
Julia Guo
I rarely write reviews, but Recycled Cycles deserves all the praise! Really awesome, friendly service and large inventory of bikes. Trent helped me immediately and was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient as I test rode several bikes. I walked out of the shop with a bike I love that was within my budget too! Thank you Trent and the team at Recycled Cycles for a great experience and for getting me set up with my first bike! 😊

Walt was absolutely amazing!!!!!! I took my bike to 2 other bike shops today. They both gave my bike a quick look and said $50 and 2 days and then they could tell me what was wrong with it. Walt took a quick look and told me what was wrong and then fixed it, no charge!!! Then installed a seat and a drink holder at no charge, because I bought them both there. He definitely got tipped!!

I've visited several bike shops in the area recently and I like the relaxed environment of this place. They were chill about letting me test out bikes and let me ride them as long as I wanted. They provide helmets also.
When it's time for me to buy a bike I plan on getting it from here.

My life is composed of vintage, up-cycled or repurposed materials. Isn’t it ironic that the two new bicycles that I’ve ever purchased came from Recycled Cycles?! I really appreciate the entire staff. This shop is a geM in Seattle! My youngest especially loves the $5 grab bag of parts! Solid bonus: the new waterfront park along the north side of the cut, just east of this shop.✌️
Joshua Edwards
I've rented bikes from here for almost a decade and always had exceptional service. The staff is friendly, polite, and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The bikes are in good shape and are all decent makes and models.
Maia Loeffler
Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, with no pressure to buy a bike. They are super approachable and will answer all your questions. A random customer came up to me in the store and assured me that “these guys know what they’re talking about, they won’t give you a bad deal.” Bought a second hand bicycle and it has been working great!

Recycled Cycles deserves all the 5 star ratings and rave reviews. I’ve had such hit or miss service from bike shops lately that I left Recycled pleasantly surprised at the standout service I received. Their rental experience was great and the gravel/touring bike I got was in perfect running order. I went back 2 days later for parts upgrades for my own mountain bike and they not only helped me find the right parts but also installed them right away for a fair price. I’ve found my local bike shop!

5-stars for service and kid bike options! My fellow parent connections name-dropped this place for affordable, second hand bikes. I stopped by with my family in the AM and Chris took care of us. He showed us a few options that were ergonomically appropriate for my kiddo’s height, outfitted the bike with a kickstand, bell ring, and bike helmet. The shop has mechanics so it was super fast and convenient to take care of. I really appreciate how considerate Chris was in not rushing us and talking kindly to my kiddo. Also peeked at the adult bikes and they had a slew of options from vintage to electric to fancy enthusiast bicycles. Would highly recommend folks stop by!
Logan Shelagowski
Seriously awesome staff that is knowledgeable about bikes, not just salesmen. I was looking for a drive ring for a DT Swiss hub, they were not able to find the exact part I was looking for on hand, but were very eager to help! I’ll definitely be returning to Recycled!
Waking-To Kindness
Was helped immediately :: two mechanic-&-cashiers, esp. the one named Jack, gave extra time & effort to help find, & Jack to assemble (w/ care & w/ knowledge) the best combo of parts, for lowest price to me \ Superb service, in an 'all-for-All' ambience to which everyone seemed to be enjoying contributing \\
Adam Axmear
Took my bike in for a flat tire and a brake check. Staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. In and out in under 30 mins and back on the road. Will definitely be a return customer.
Alex Mellnik
Rented a gravel bike to ride the Olympic Discovery Trail. The bike worked great and was better equipped than the rental website suggest with a pump, spare tube, rack, lock, etc. Easy pickup and return, highly recommend!
Angelina
Everyone is super friendly and always lending help. The used reflectors are free and they kindly installed it for me too.
Aaron Schwarz
Fast service, reasonable prices, friendly efficient outgoing staff / the best bike shop we have ever visited / Swapped out the top bar of our mid 1990's marin with a used carbon fiber unit / to move the bar up & back just a bit & it worked great! Thanks for the helpful friendly fast service & fair prices!
Nelson Pfab
Blown away at the level of service we received today!
We went to Recycled Cycles in hopes of finding two used bikes, but were open to new as well. The used section was pretty small, (which is to be expected, especially this time of year) but the new bikes weren't too expensive at all, especially when you consider the warranty they come with and the customer service we received.
Andy helped each of us with the adjustments needed to get us comfortable on the bikes that spoke to us. We felt no pressure to buy a bike, let alone pressure to buy a specific type of bike. We were there for probably 90 minutes, testing bikes and deciding on what we wanted. It was the friendliest bike shop visit either of us have ever had and I'm so happy to now have a shop where I feel comfortable bringing all my bike questions. We ended up with two new bikes and Andy even helped us get them loaded into the car.
If you're looking for a no-judgement bike shop with quick and knowledgeable staff, head into Recycled Cycles!

Recycled Cycles is everything you want in a bike shop - the techs are knowledgable, friendly, and love what they do. Reasonably priced, too.
Donna Gerner
Great experience! We rented 2 bikes over Memorial weekend. Bikes were in excellent condition, like new. Online rental reservation was easy. Staff was super helpful and pleasant. Special shout out to Skip, he goes above and beyond! He took good care of us.
Brian Alkire
Easily the best bike shop I've ever been to. Super helpful and friendly staff. Super knowledgeable in helping me to find solutions for my bike problems. And they do it all for super reasonable prices. I also bought three used kids bikes from them for very reasonable prices, and they all turned out to be absolutely wonderful bikes. I wouldn't go anywhere else for any of my biking needs.
Chris Tachibana
Best bike shop anywhere. They installed a new chain ring that is exactly what I needed, plus put on new brake pads, and made adjustments, AND cleaned off all the mud splatter. This and friendly service, all for under $200.
Chuck Mase
I visited Seattle and booked a bike rental with Recycled Cycles and couldn't be happier. This place is a real bike shop where they take pride in what they do. My bike was in perfect condition and worked great. I was able to ride all over the city and even Vashon island, which is extremely hilly and I had no issue getting up the hills with my hybrid rental. Seattle is a beautiful place to explore via bike.
If you're looking for a bike rental, look no further, Recycled Cycles is the spot. Thank you Skip!
Declan Sullivan
Bought a commuter bike from here and the whole process was super easy. Walt was super helpful showing me the bikes, making recommendations, and let me know about nearby rides.
Super friendly staff, very happy with my purchase.
Mellicia Marx
What an exceptional experience. I just wanted a bike to ride with my son. It turns out “just buying a bike “ is more difficult than I had imagined. The visit to Recycled Cycles was perfection. Jordan and two different co-workers helped me quickly find the ideal bike and saddle (seat). It was efficient and they were very thoughtful about COVID without sacrificing service. I ended up spending much less than I had anticipated and a bike mechanic checked everything out before I left. Best place to buy a bike ever!
Saimukeshvarma Bhupatiraju
The staff was so nice and accommodating! I accidently put the wrong date in the rental registration online and they were able to fix it right away. They were so helpful and the rentals were high quality bikes. Definitely the best place to rent bikes in Seattle!
Cindy Pickering
Alden with Recycled Cycles was wonderful and patient with me. He walked me through the steps to fix my elliptical machine, he made it so easy. I was shocked when he didn't charge me anything for his services, I would have gladly paid him. I would 100% recommend them. Awesome Service!!
Michael Borchert
Fast, friendly service. Salesperson asked detailed, non-judgmental questions, and then he walked with me to the products he recommended and answered all my questions about them. Good variety of products. Will return, do recommend. Thanks!
Greg Hoffmeyer
Made it through the Christmas ice and snow to this shop on the water while visiting Seattle this week. Got in right when they opened at ten and was stunned to see the insane high end vintage road bike collection hanging from ceiling (Masi, Cinelli, Paramount to name a very few). I told them I was refurbing a 73 Schwinn Paramount looking for “somewhat period correct” components. Steve, the owner, told me to give him a sec, went downstairs and brought up a few components from his “private stash” - which match EXACTLY what I needed - priced VERY fairly. While I was shopping “in the zone” one of the guys there offered to let my daughter ride a fat-tire snow bike, very cool. What a joy, what a find - great shop - great guys - highly recommend. GH, Chapel Hill, NC.

Manager, service-people, etc are all fantastic and help you as much as possible. They are truly a community gem and one of the best bike shops in the entire Seattle area.
Shout out to the service/repair man who fixed up my bike in a second and introduced me to a better, cleaner drivetrain lubricant today!
Fred Thomas
These guys were GREAT! They have tons of accessories, a very helpful staff and are very responsible about your health while visiting their store, which I REALLY appreciate during this Covid-19 experience. The price for the new part I needed (a freewheel cassette) was less than if I had used Amazon and it is always a bonus to help out a local store. They also helped talk me through what I needed. Overall an awesome experience. I'll be back for sure! Parking is a little tough so I recommend taking your bike there if it's close to you.
Zayed Uddin Chy
Everyone is really helpful. One of my friends rented a mountain bike. After the ride we were late and couldn’t return the bike. Unfortunately, next 2 days the shop was closed. However, the awesome people over there helped us out and we only needed to pay a minimal late fee.
Roam Washington
Great place saved my butt crank arm bolt went MIA and they had a spare floating around and hooked it up,saved the day!
Michelle Beaumont
Very kind and helpful
I 🧡 my Kona Dew I bought there !!
Update 3.4.22
Brought it in for tune up. They cleaned it too. My bike and I are both happy 😁🚲
Kory Gill
Great customer service, friendly staff, and had everything I needed.
William Callaway
Phenomenal service. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable, polite, excited about bikes, and above all, financially reasonable. Lots of respect for this place, earned a loyal customer.
Sam
Excellent bike shop, with friendly helpful staff. I always swing by here when I'm in Seattle as their road bike rentals seem to offer the best value around. They have a good selection of new and used parts, many of which are becoming harder to find if you're running an older group set. They also have a good selection of bikes for a range of budgets.
BrittaLisa Gess
Recycled Cycles is incredible. I always come here for all my bike needs and for the second (third?) time, I was able to walk in with my old Bianci, get the information I needed, and wasn't charged anything. Travis was super helpful, listened to my questions, and gave me exactly the info I needed without patronizing me. I'd recommend Recycled Cycles (and I do) to everyone!
Stefan Gramatovici
Fast, efficient and cheap service. Also great value for the money on the stuff that they sell. Fixed my bike for free 1 year after purchase, no questions asked. No appointments and unnecessary overhead needed(looking at you REI). Only small downside is that it can get a bit busy sometimes.
wickedtoast
The guys that work here are so helpful, and just want you to have fun. They are so laid back and are willing to help with anything. The most welcoming bike shop I have ever been to hands down. Crazy selection on used bike parts too.
Tommy Charles
Hands down the best bike shop in Seattle! The staff have a ton of knowledge about pretty much any bike. I built a 2012 Surly Troll from the ground up and didn't have much of an idea where to start or what to get and Max the mechanic stepped in and helped me every step of the way! All in All this is a great shop with superb customer service, Great selection of new and used parts a fair prices. Thank You Recycled Cycles! You guys rock!
Sally Muskett
By far the friendliest and most laid back sales staff I've encountered! They clearly staff like its peak season year round (I don't even really know if there is such a thing as peak season in bike sales but whatever) because there were at least 3 staff to 1 customer. I didn't get any impression there was competition with sales either, they seemed to work together cohesively in order to find what's best for the customer. I think the guy who mainly worked with me asked two of his coworkers their opinion when helping me find my bike. He was super considerate of my price point, and attentive to my needs. I have balance and hearing issues, and he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable with all my choices. It sounds like I am not the first disabled individual that they have worked with to find something that works so they can ride a bike (partially blind, severe balance issues, deaf etc.). They do a great job restoring used bikes, mine seems to be in pristine condition even though it is older. They gave me 10% off on all the accessories I bought for the bike, and checked my bike over twice to ensure quality condition. On top of all that, since I haven't really been on a bike since I was a kid, I was briefed on road rules and proper locking method. The main guy who helped me spent at least a couple hours doing all this for me, and I never felt rushed or pressured in any way. Really awesome establishment with genuine people, I'll definitely only go back there for my future bike related needs!

First of all, I'm not the kind of person to write reviews for just any business but these guys are great! Particularly Max and Skip. Those guys are fantastic! And Skip kindly let my daughter blow compressed air at his afro, it was super funny. Thanks Skip! Max went out of his way to make sure my bike issues were sorted out and made some recommendations to fix the other issue on a later date. Thanks Max! I think my daughter and I met the owner too. We briefly exchanged bike stories of those beginning days of bike interest and he continued to fix my daughters flat tire. Thanks, I'll have to get your name next time.
I learned about this shop in September of 16', I've been there three or four times and each time I've been treated excellent. They ask me what I need, they grab my bike, throw it up on the rack and it's serviced in no time. They make recommendations and they're fairly priced. I think this will be my go to shop.

This is my second review for Recycled Cycles. My first review was for their Fremont location (on yelp). I’m taking the time to write my review b/c I think Recycled Cycles is a stellar bike shop. I think their retail space has a great selection and their service shop is awesome too. Plus, they easily move bikes between stores so if you call ahead they can make sure a bike is ready (for test rides) at the desired location.
One day, I spent a lot of time asking questions and test riding a Road bike which I didn’t end up buying. But the salesperson was super nice and answered all my questions without trying to ‘make the sale.’ I felt that he was more concerned that I buy a bike that was right for me, rather than trying to get me to spend my money on a bike that didn’t fit. This shows that the staff really cares about the customer's biking experience beyond the walls of their store.
As a customer who knows very little about bikes, it can be overwhelming for me when surrounded by so many choices and not sure if I’m asking the right questions. The owner, Steve and his staff are always friendly and eager to help. They do a good job of acknowledging my concerns and don’t blow me off because I’m not a ‘racer’ or a bike geek. They make shopping for bikes and bike parts fun!
Kevin Lind
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I needed a new rear wheel so I was price shopping around. I stopped here after finding them on the web and was surprised by the quality and variety of parts that I saw. Within 20 minutes I was walking out the door with a new wheel installed including a new cassette for less than half of what I was expecting to spend on just a new wheel. They will be getting all my cycling related business from now on. I would highly recommend this place.
Stephanie Sheppard
My family and I rented four bicycles from Recycled Cycles. The staff was super friendly and answered all our questions. Great maintained bikes, helmets, and locks! Would highly recommend
Ryan Stoddard
Mixed: Sometimes great, sometimes bad
I've been using this shop for maintenance for years for multiple bikes since it is convenient to work. Sometimes the service has been great, sometimes it is OK.
More and more when I walk in there I feel like I'm at a car dealer. Recently they quoted me $220 for some routine maintenance (just needed new brake pads and chain, but they threw in some random stuff and exorbitant labor charges). $220 is a price I'd expect from my car dealer too.
no thank you - think its time to go elsewhere, or, better yet buy the tools to do the maintenance myself
Adrian Junus
These guys are the best! Some others said it really well; Attentive but not pushy, knowledgable and personable. Great bike offerings too, including the new bikes whose manufacturers they retail for (Marin and Kona), who I believe to be great bike makers.
Good return policy as well (30 days no scuffs IIRC), which led me to buy but don't plan to use!
Liam Dawe
RENT HERE. Amazing bike, great price. This one was $20 or so for 4 hours.
Nancy Mariano
The first time I went into the shop I can understand what some 1 stars were talking about. It was at the beginning of the summer season and I wanted to find my first adult bike and no one seemed to want to help me. There were a lot of customers with more specific questions in the shop at the time so maybe we can leave it up to busyness but I felt like I got totally cold shouldered by all the staff until my friend Darien (who works there) was free and recognized me. He gave me a really solid recommendation but it was out of my budget at the time (I had unrealistic expectations) and I proceeded to buy a used bike off of Facebook Marketplace.
My second experience was yesterday-- I called multiple times and e-mailed the GM about stock on the bike that Darien had recommended me. When I went into the shop later that day I was really direct with what I wanted (making a point to grab the first staff person I could see at the desk) and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I had a really confusing payment situation that I needed accommodated and Ryan was really happy to help me out every step of the way. After the bike was inspected by one of their shop guys it was really cool because he told me about a really useful half click feature of my shifters (something I probably would have never figured out myself).
I really appreciate the staff for taking the time to help me out. Because of them I got a screamin' deal on a bike, found out the bike I got was wayyy too big and heavy and now that I have a better/ better fitting bike I can get around town way faster!
My suggestion to people is to do some research before coming into the shop so the staff has something to work with you on-- from there the experience was fantastic! They were just as excited and happy as I was at the end of it!! Only taking a star off because intimidation going into bike shops is real and if I hadn't known someone who worked there already I probably wouldn't have come back.
Garrett Disco
Fantastic service. Bought planet bike fenders here and needed to exchange half of the included mounting screws in order to install it correctly for my bike. I did my own installation on the sidewalk outside the shop, but they still were very supportive. Love this shop, will be back!
Loran Briggs
THE place to go if you are maintaining an older bike! A wide selection of both new and gently used parts. I recently bought an old 90s mtb to be used as a commuter on the cheap. I went here to upgrade a few worn out parts and they not only had a wide selection of parts to choose from but were super helpful making sure you got the right part. They all seem super down to earth and willing to help. Its nice to be able to service an old bike and not replace the whole thing just because a few parts are worn.
Joel Rosenbaum
Recycled Cycles is always something of a hit or miss experience for me. For a parts store, they have a very good selection and decent prices. As a consignment/used bike store, they're not half bad either. Ease of selling/trading in used gear is also a strong point here. Their new bikes tend to be okay and not priced very competitively, but that's not altogether surprising.
The weak spot for Recycled Cycles is the service. Unless you go during the off hours, service is perpetually slow. Some of the employees here are also incredibly condescending, nailing down every aspect of the bike snob stereotype. However, others tend to be pretty good, helpful. Some training would go a long ways, I think. All said and done, good for certain things, not for others.
Lauren Wilson
I came here today with my husband who's looking for a used bike he can use to commute to/from his new job. My husband and I both have pretty limited knowledge on bikes, types, what to look for, etc. We worked with Jordan who showed/let my husband test a few bikes, but more importantly provided us with so much helpful information tailored to individual needs/preferences as well as general info. Afterwards, my husband remarked that it was so refreshing not feeling pressured into a sale, but rather getting genuine guidance and information. It appears the employees here genuinely enjoy what they do and enjoy helping customers, so thank you!!
Kacie Fostermerk
We were visiting from Boise and our AirBnB host referred us to them when we had a problem with my son's bike. Luckily they were able to squeeze us in and helped us fix a messy situation. I was so impressed at the customer service and knowledge! Great people, service and accessories for a great price! Adorable puppy mascot too! Thank you Recycled Cycles!!!!
Brandon Foth
Amazing customer service and excellent deals on used gear. I can't thank Ben enough for helping me get setup with clipless pedals on my bike as well as giving me a hands-on lesson in how to use them. Easily my new favorite bike store in Seattle.
Stefan Russell
This bike shop is awesome! Today was my first time in but I'll be going there more frequently now! The staff was very friendly and super helpful! Plus, the proximity to the Burke Gilman is very convenient!
Barbara Morgan
This is a popular store. You might have to wait awhile. This is the third bike store I’ve tried in Seattle the last few times I’ve visited here.
I’m an active 74 year old but not from here. I admit I don’t always know my way around here. But I love the feel of the bike they picked for me. It fits my body well. I feel at home on it.
This town is really fast paced and you want to feel safe and comfortable when you’re commuting here. I’m really happy now that I have a bike to get around on. It starts, stops and turns around well when I figure out I’m going the wrong way. I can hop off and back on well. There are bike paths everywhere. It’s so much better on a bike.
Khalid Elassaad
I'm a tall guy. I want a bike. I go to Recycled Cycles.
I meet Alexander who points me to two bikes that meet my criteria and fit my budget.
I test drive two bikes. One bike wins out.
Problem is I don't like the positioning of the handlebars. They're too low, I'm having trouble reaching them.
No problem. The mechanics work to swap in another stem.
I take another test drive.
Step in the right direction, but not good enough.
No problem. The mechanics work to swap in ANOTHER stem.
This one works. Ring it up.
I came to the star to buy a bike and accomplished that mission. In addition to that, my buying experience was personalized and suited my needs. Good people doing good work in there. Thank you Recycled Cycles.
Kristiana Lapo
Love love love this place! I bought my bike here a few months ago after a weeks-long test-riding saga. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable and they have a great selection of bikes and accessories. I was able to find the bike and commuter set up I wanted under my budget! I love my bike and will continue to have all my service done here and send people to Recycled Cycles whenever I can.
Sascha Bos
Great bike shop. Everything is extremely organized and the two staff members I interacted with were super friendly and helpful. I found a great used saddle at a low price. Will definitely come back here.
Joe Ott Soulbikes
The staff at Recycled Cycles is always attentive but not pushy. Knowledgable but able to communicate without being too technical. If they do not know something they will admit it, find a coworker with the answer or work with you to find the correct answer instead of winging it or lying. Because they have used parts you can potentially save money on repairs or parts if you do your own work. The turnaround time for repairs is faster than the average for other shops. The work is accurate and correct. If there is an issue they will fix it right away. The labor rates are a bit higher than some shops but they have far more knowledgeable and experienced mechanics with better service. Buy being ok with slightly higher labor rates you are supporting that they pay a living wage, provide health insurance and give paid holidays off. All of the used bikes for sale have been completely taken apart, cleaned, reassembled, sometimes upgraded, and tuned. They usually have new tires, innertubes, cables & housing, chain and brake pads to ensure a long lasting bike. Used bikes just like new ones come with a free 30 day break in tune up. If you see a used bike you like under $600 buy it right away if you think it is right for you. Bikes in that rage sale fast. They have rental bikes at good rates.
Rob Rawlings
The crew at Recycled Cycles has been beyond helpful with restoring my old steel framed road bike, as well as fixing my newer carbon mountain bike. The work performed was quick, good, and the prices were unbelievably low. I am super happy with this shop!
Bryan K.
Awesome bike rental for a stay in Seattle. As a cyclist, I was very happy with the Kona hybrid they rent out. Easy service, great price value. Next time I'm in Seattle this will be my first stop off the plane. My only recommendation would be to give a U lock if possible, I was a bit nervous with just the cable. But I had no issues and it really was a great experience, thanks!
Elizabeth Metz
I've never had a bad experience here. And as a non-traditional cyclist (I'm bigger than some, thank you, cupcakes...), that's more rare than you'd think. I've bought two road bikes here, and both of them were fantastic, as were the staffers who helped me find rigs to fit my particular needs. As a result, I'm completely loyal to these folks.
Joe Breslin
Great service, great quality, great prices - great place to buy a bike!
Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, especially for people just getting into biking. I think the biggest thing to note is that the "Recycled" portion of the name feels like a bit of a misnomer. I expected good, albeit used-looking bikes. What we received were refurbished bikes (I assume) indistinguishable from brand new bikes, at a great price.
Would highly recommend.
Jesse Lowe
Favorite bike shop in the city. They'll usually get you in right away for emergency/quick fixes and their rates are fair, crazy selection of used stuff and the staff is friendly but not so pushy that I can't spend 2 hours digging through the parts bins. As somebody with a hooptie fleet of 80's and older road bikes this place is a godsend
Ali Honarmand
Everyone at this bike shop is extremely friendly and helpful. Pat, in particular, has been amazing and patient at helping me pick a bike and find the right accessories for it.
Katherine Watier Ong
They we're great arranging our bike rental... including dealing with and helping us figure out how to bike with a 4 year and 1.5 year old. SUPER friendly and were awesome cheerleaders when the 4 year old ended up actually biking for 3+ miles for the first time. Bikes we're great, and they were quick to fix any issues we had.
Jae Cho
The staff is always friendly and helpful. They all seem to have fun working there, and seem genuinely motivated to get more people on bicycles. Prices are great for new parts, and I often find used parts in great condition for very good prices as well. Mechanics seem to come and go, but most of them are skilled and don't act like a snobby barista as mechanics at other bike shops often do.
Seth Wing
Great staff. Never had any pretentiousness like so many other bike shops. Competitive pricing, and actually pretty good used finds. It’s my go to bike shop.
Alex Pollock
Absolutely the best bicycle shop I have ever been to. They explain with out being condescending, have fair prices, and do great work. I’ve been to my fair share of bike shops around town and always come back to Recycled Cycles.
Jacob Bowler
Exemplary service. Trent was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in helping me find the perfect bike for my height and style of riding.

I used to work at a bike shop... This place is phenomenal! They're helpful, knowledgeable and put care into their service.
Rob Adair
Great rental experience and value with a Kona gravel bike. Perfect for riding around Seattle streets, Burke-Gilman trail, and Lake Sammamish gravel trail. Was a little hesitant renting an entry level gravel bike instead of a road bike, but found it to be just what I needed.
Kenneth Deutsch
Great bike rental place. We rented the Kona Dew which was perfect for the bike path and tooting around town. We did a 4 day rental, the bikes had easy locks for coffee breaks etc. Excellent service.
Carlos Harry
Most of the time, they have what I need. But if they don't, I just keep checking until they do, which they eventually do. The staff is really coming around to being one of the most helpful crews in Seattle. Very competitive pricing, and the vibe is just... Better. Really starting to love this place more and more every visit. 🖤🤘🏼 …
Jeff Miller
Great experience with this bike shop. I came in with a broken bolt after my seat post on my road bike had failed me and someone in the mechanic area was able to help me find a replacement! Recommend checking out their shop!
Anna M
Nice employees, GREAT selection, good prices on used bikes. You won't feel pressured. I wish they'd had a little more expertise, but I still found my first bike!
Emily C
I was in the market for an upgrade and went to Recycled Cycles as I was open to both used and new bikes. I was helped immediately by a friendly person named Scotty. I tried out 3 bikes (1 new and 2 used) in my size. It was a rainy day. For my test rides Scotty adjusted the seats to my height and also attached a fender to the back of the bikes for me.
Unfortunately the bikes weren't exactly what I was looking for as my parameters were extremely specific. Scotty was patient the whole time and really helped us out with the test rides. Excellent service. I didn't end up finding The One here but I can certainly see myself coming back for service, parts, or gear. Thank you to Scotty.
Phil Morris
Bought a bike there a few months back. Friendly staff were able to answer all my questions. Couldn't be happier with the bike I bought. Have been back once for a tune and it was also a great experience.
Patrick “Trick” Jarrett
I visited them in their new location in Fremont. Wow! I didn't leave with a bike but I will definitely be going back to give them my business. Gary sized me for a bike and gave me a brief tutorial on how the new-fangled gear shifters work with their push and pull controls. Then despite me being up front about not intending to buy a new one, he continued on getting me properly sized before letting me take a bike out for a spin to check how it felt.
Fantastic staff, clean and well laid out store, I'll be going back there again.
Tianhe Yang
Professional service, wide selection, and reasonable prices. These factors alone make Recycled Cycles stand out, but the personal touch on every purchase, repair, and tune-up is what makes this bike shop truly great. The staff here really cares!
Eric Comeau
This is more review for the Fremont location. (though I like them both!)
This is the way bike shops should be, walk in hang out, want to look at a bike? want to look at a bike bell? that is fine too, the staff will still chat and hang out. Also some really fast racers that work here and all of them leave the "I am awesome" card at the door when they come to work, they just like people riding bikes. The way it should be!

I have been a loyal customer of RC for several years, though months go by without my shopping there, I'm always treated well, great service and reasonable prices. I'm a self taught motorized bicycle builder so I'm often looking for parts to jury-rig into a build, sometimes I don't know exactly what it is I need. They always have given great advice and most times have an inexpensive used part that works well. If I'm replacing something on a build sometimes they can trade the old part for credit or price cut on the newer item. Today I needed a sprocket removed from a wheel because I didn't have the correct tool at home and they did it for free! I will be a customer for life and whenever I'm told someone needs something bike related I send them to RC. Sometimes they are busy so you have to wait. So wait. it's worth it. I've been to many of the other bike shops in Seattle and if I do wind up getting something done or buying something, I often find RC's prices would have been better. I live pretty far away (Bothell) and pass many bike shops on my way to Boat St. but the trip pays off.
Peanutbutter jellyfish (nofrownonme)
This is the store every bike rider should visit. The ceiling is bicycle history. They have a cornucopia of used bikes/bike parts, consignments and new bicycles. I felt like they wanted me to be there, and were happy to have me. And all I bought were pizza socks. As someone from out of town, it’s nice to find gems like this place. I would recommend it to anyone, and I will be back.
Roman P
I've shopped at all the major Seattle bike shops and this is my favorite.
Supremely helpful staff, a great assortment of accessories, and a cool location. Recycled has an energy and vibe that most shops lack.
The mechanics are exceptional and fairly priced.
Dan Kowalski
Very impressed with this outfit and the good folks that work there. They're motivated by all the right values (in my book): a passion for bikes, riding, with a healthy ethos of creativity applied to "making things work well." Thumbs up!!
Michael Salgado
Have had several bikes repaird with Recycled cycles. I’m not a bike expert but I feel like the prices are fair compared to other bike shops I have used in the past.
The big + is you don’t have to wait days to get the bike back. It can be fixed in most cases on the spot.
Olive Cattau
Great bike repair shop. Customer service is 10/10 and I found a sweet used trek road bike for $500. Not many bike options but they are all very high quality.
Wes Robinson
This is a great place to go to get new, and used, parts for any kind of bike. Geared more towards street and mountain bikes. Fun if you are teaching someone to build a bike from the ground up. Dig through the used parts bins to put together a great creation for a low price, or get a complete new bike. They have a shop that can take care of any of your bikes needs. Friendly staff. They also take donations if you need to get rid of any parts cluttering the house. Now get outside and ride!
Peter Ingram
I just moved to Seattle and have already paid a visit to Recycled Cycles 3 times! They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices are reasonable, their labor is inexpensive and often free for little things, and they are always willing to help you find a cheap used part in their store if you are interested.
Andrew Stewart
Excellent customer service! I recently broke a wheel and took it in to this shop. I got a great deal on a used wheelset that unfortunately popped a spoke the very next day. Even though it was a used wheelset, Max and the gang went the extra mile to make it right. Kudos to you all.
Michael Foster
This cyclist's shop sets the bar for all others. Bins of used components alongside a nice selection of new and used bikes and parts. Full service mechanic shop with trusted advice.
Before you buy that new widget, always check here first for a used one.Get in-store credit for bike doo-dads you're not using anymore. I saved 75% buying my TOPEAK rack, basket and cargo bag Used over buying online!
Eric Olliff
I came in here about a week ago asking about fenders and bike racks. The employees who helped me were super knowledgeable and very friendly. They also lent me tools to install what I bought right there in the store. I would definitely come back here!
Murray Sampson
I was looking for a cyclocross bike earlier this year and checked with Recycled Cycles. I got a screaming deal on my bike and when I had them do some modifications they gave me store credit for the new parts in exchange for the old parts. They offer a free 90 day tune-up, which I didn't end up using because I was out of town a lot over the summer and forgot to take it in, but I did drop in a couple weeks after buying my bike because the derailleur was slightly misaligned and they adjusted it for free.
My bike rides like a charm - I've loved it since the first ride I took on it - and it got me through my first cyclocross race of the season quite well. They seem to only sell really high quality equipment, at least the new options. I haven't purchased used equipment from them, so I can't speak to that. I will be trying that out, though, since I have an old bike I got for free that I'm going to refurbish. I'll edit the review in a couple months when that project is done.
Criss ann Orton
Two years ago I took my grandson in for a commuter bike. He was ten years old and was treated like he was Warren Buffett or the Queen. He was listened to and interacted with like professionals should. Even though Grandma was there with the credit card, they found a very reasonably priced bicycle. Taking my other new cyclist in this week. Will be reviewing again.
I C
Great bike shop. Came through in a pinch where my mountain bike with straight through pin spoke broke. Bit far from home, but good to know there is an awesome bike shop near Fremont.
Kelsey M
This place is the best- I always go out of my way to get there, above all other bike shops. The most postivie vibes!
I was getting checked on every few minutes while I attempted to assemble my bike rack myself- ultimately to no avail. They squeezed me in 5 minutes before closing so I was able to ride home. Thanks so much :)
Wolfgang Pauli
Very knowledgeable and helpful people. I had a rear derailleur (shimano sora, 9-speed) that wasn't working well, and they helped me find a compatible used one (shimano tiagra, *10-speed*) for $15, that completely fixed the problem.
Randy Stalcup
My goodness.. I brought bike in last week and got a few supplies (helmet light, helmet and seat lock, along with new brakes) and I couldn't have asked for more help. After replacing my breaks in a nearby parking lot I took it in and said I was missing a piece for my rear caliper. The guy immediately located the right one, put it on my bike and aligned/tightened it down without me asking or charging for the part. The next day I brought it in and asked one of the mechanics if they could ride my bike and identify any problems. The guy put it on the rack, gave it a full tune up and oiling free of charge. These guys are cool!
E. Bicycles
I blew out the side of my rim with too much air. Thank you Jiffy Lube guy who warned me before I used his air hose, but did not mention it was set to 200 psi.
But Recycled Cycles saved the day! I stopped in and got a replacement wheel for a very good price. It was used but lightly. What the heck, my back rim was new during Bush 1, so used is fine. I really wanted a new one, but after this dear bike has seen me through thick and thin I did not have the heart.
I wholehearted recommend Recycled Cycles to anyone who loves their bike so much that even talk to it.

when i was in not too long ago i went in with a particular thing in mind for a bike.i was there for some time tryin to find a replacement for a stolen bike, an the whole time if i had a questions, wanted to test a bike, i was helped. if you want a great selection, friendly an great service this is a place to check.
David Hunter
Friendly, helpful, prompt--servicing just what needs to be done, none of the condescending, charge-more-than-the-bike-is-worth experience that I have encountered at other big and small bike shops (Greenlake excepted). And what of the reviewer who complained about parking? Good grief, this is a bike shop, not a shopping mall.
Delio Pera
My girlfriend and are planning a pretty big bike touring trip, and many smaller ones. A good friend told us that Recycled is a solid shop and we should check them out. They were nothing but the best to us. Charlie told us all KINDS of stuff we would have NEVER thought of. Between our multiple trips, many test rides, and phones calls we probably ate up close to 6 hours of his (and others) time. Skip too was super rad.
We considered getting the bikes we wanted at REI due to the return policy they have, but ended up deciding to buy from Recycled. We want to support our local shops and REI is doing just fine last I knew.
This is the kind of place Seattle really needs to keep around. Stop shopping at Starbucks, Wal Mart, and Target, and give places like Recycled Cycles your money.
Nick Bolton
Overall good experience. I took my fixed gear in the shop because of stripped crank arms. I thought it would be a great idea to put the crank on the other side of the bike to prevent getting chain grease on me when going up stairs, due to being left handed it was more convenient. In the end this idea is what got me into this predicament.
Needless to say, the techs in the shop were trying to find a way to keep the crank on the left side by thinking of every possibility. After meaningful debate they helped me reach a decision.
Every bike shop in the area suggested to replace the cranks (~100+) but the techs here went a route that cost me 25$ with a helicoil. And one of the employees came up to me and stated "I did that same exact thing and almost killed myself when my pedals came out". All in all, I will go back. Also, Ryan was very very helpful.
Cheers!
christhesmith
Got a new chain and free gear adjust today. I had just taken my new bike back to Greggs for its 90 day tune up and they trashed it (gears that were working PERFECTLY before, were crashing, etc. etc.). Then the crappy chain that Greggs put on fell apart (pin fell right out of the link-yeeeess, both sides). Took it to Dave at RC and they were super, super, ultra quick and super friendly. It is nice to be treated well. At Greggs I felt like I was treated like dirt (and my bike was treated worse) because I was not buying a $10,000 carbon fiber "ego compensator". I would recommend Recycled Cycles without reservation.
Andrew Bowerman
One of the best bike shops in Seattle for the "DIY"ers the thrifty, and all the other kinds of bike owners.I have been shopping at recycled cycles for 10+ years and have just always been amazed how affordably I can fix or improve my bikes. I love the local Kona brand and hope they keep dealing them. Super big A+ to keeping things out of Washington landfills! Big Shout Out to Skip and Andy for working there and helping people find bikes and parts for so long. Love this Shop
Kevin Coffey
Great people, great service! I'm also a big fan of rummaging for parts. It is a great experience building a bike from recycled parts, you learn a lot and save $$$!
austin danielek
Best used parts selection in Seattle. The staff are very competent and helpful. The bike museum hanging from the ceiling is full of unique and rare pieces.
Anthony Yarnall
The only place I get my bike serviced in Seattle. Trustworthy mechanics, fair prices, and a good selection of lightly used parts at a discount. Besides a less remote location, what more could you ask for?
Seth wendzel
Came in at 715 to trade in frame and wheel set. Dude was great: he spent time pulling parts off and building my trade in credit. Then helped play doctor fixing new parts to the frame and forks. Thank you recycled cycles. Guy worked with me til 830 with a 800 closing time. Thanks
Seth Wonner
Purchasing a new bike and accessories was an overall good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is when I purchased a new helmet. I really needed help because I had never bought a helmet before so I had to rely on the guidance of the sales team. I fitted for an xl but when it came in I mentioned that it fit a little snug on my forehead, but not tight. They ordered an xxl (yikes!) after telling me a tight helmet could give me headaches. When that came in I was fitted again and was told it "looked like a good fit". Now I have a giant lid that flops over my eyes when I hit bumps.
Kacper Lachowski
Had nothing but positive experiences during bike and accessory purchase as well as basic maintenance. Keep it up recycled cycles you guys rock.
Aislinn Roberts
Great service, super knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend for 1st time bike buyers who don't know what choices to make.

James inw mccash
I have been a long time customer , and when it comes down to it this place is # 1 for sure .The service is great and affordable .They have new and used parts . They always have plenty mechanics, so you will not have to wait to long . Check them out you won't be disappointed .
Josh Apata
Best bike shop in Seattle! Staff and mechanics are super helpful and the turn around time is always very quick.
Joel chico Guevara
Stopped in, as they have closed the Fremont shop..Went in for a rear brake adjustment. 10 minutes cost me15$..15 dollars!!!!..I guess overhead is up because of the other shop closing!!!t the Fremont shop it was usually 5$...goodbye to a loyal 15+ year customer..I will never return......
Paige Petrangelo
Dave at the Boat St location (*pours one out for the late Fremont shop*) helped my ignorant self out a lot today. I'm thankful for the lack of condescension thus unabashed love of working with bikes/willingness to teach others (me) basic bike maintenance 101. Thanks, man!
C BG
Great service, kind, smart, communicative, AND fair prices.
Not snobby at all, unlike some places.
I've been going there for over a decade for a range of services- gear, bikes, parts and repairs.
Evan Egerstrom
Bins and bins of good stuff. Staff's got stories and advice. I picked up used monowheel trailer from these guys a few years ago for a song. Definitely check here before anywhere else!
Betsy Hale
I love this bike shop. Very organized and careful in the face of COVID. They communicate well and accomplished my repair very quickly.
Karl Wehden
These guys are A+. Two days in a row, they save me huge amounts of time and in one case, money with quick, accurate diagnosis and help. Can't say enough good things about Recycled, specifically John, who is awesome.
Dylan Clark
Super friendly and knowledgeable! Showed me step by step to install a chain, will be coming here again in the future!!
Justin Jones
I know they gotta make money but charged double for both break rotors but labor was cheap.
Michael Yaeger
Been shopping here since nearly the opening 25 years ago. Still shop here even though I live in NJ. Every trip back to Seattle includes a stop at the best bike shop around.
Jennifer Morton
Great place to rent a bike, friendly, helpful, and even had a kid trailer we could rent.
Chris Sumi
My favorite local bike store. I get all my parts and advice there. Yes, you can buy parts on line, however, you can't get the help you need.
Mark Hillman
Cleaned out my shop, and brought in a lot of no longer needed parts and tools I don't need anymore and received a very fair evaluation, adding $150 to my store credit.
Christa House
Always get my bike fixed here as the staff are super friendly and always willing to help out. Prices are really reasonable and the whole place is pretty funky
David Levy
IF THERE IS another bike shop more dedicated, professional, responsive, and fair, I've never heard of it, in the decades I've lived in Seattle.
Jason Reif
Friendly knowledgeable staff, great prices on new and used parts. I was able to get the things i needed with no problem.

I messed up the brakes on my kids bike while changing a tube. The guys at recycled cycles fixed the brakes and had us up and riding in a few minutes for a fair price.
Mike Stolorena
Best place to rent a bike in Seattle. They really took good care of us and bikes were great. Big thanks to Skip who got ours reserved.
Daven Rajesh
I love this place!!! They really helped me out while i was making a fixie. I could not have done it on my own and the prices for the wheels and tubes and everything was very affordable, and thats coming from a fairly poor high schooler!
Jerry Ostronic
Good bike, nice people a bit expensive compared to what I have paid in other cities, might just be bikes are expensive to rent there. $40 for the day even though I only wanted it and used it for 2 hours
Marc Herrera
20/20 bike shop was fiming a movie. So told me they could not sell me a bike chain. Well it work out great because Recycled cycles got me "vary good parts" for my Haro fusion. That things like sowrd on pavment.

Others often try to be like recycled cycles but there can only be one recycled cycles. This is a great shop for do it yourselfers or people just looking to have their bikes tuned up! This is hands down my favorite bike shop in Washington. I simply cant bring my self to move out of state due to fear of no longer having such a great community bike shop.
