I broke a spoke while truing my bike wheel. They were able to cut a custom length spoke and charged me less than the bus ticket it took to get here… all for less than the cost of the bus ticket! Very helpful to people who do not have a car or can only afford to do mechanical work themselves.

This is the best bike shop in the region. It's focused on enhancing the riding experience for families and commuters alike and their staff is very nice. My son loves trying out the balance bikes and my daughter enjoys playing in the kids corner while we visit. As far as service... Tune ups somehow seem to transform my bike to new. I've purchased a few bikes from them and these bikes are built to last (my family has put about 11k miles on these bikes this year!).
They definitely have a pulse on the industry and as well as know a lot about the greater Seattle area bike laws and bike community events too.

I love this place! Such a great selection of bikes that are hard to find anywhere else. They're really helpful in comparing options to get the bike that's right for you. And they're really great with service, even in the pandemic when things are busy and difficult. They were able to squeeze me in for something quick to make sure it didn't become a bigger issue.

My past bike shop experiences have generally been pretty good, but I just had the best one by far. Davey, the owner is a fountain of information, and went out of his way to make sure I understood the downsides to the bikes and components I was looking at - not just the upsides. He had even pre-read through my email correspondence and had my concerns in mind when I arrived. It seems to me that he is more interested in happy customers and long-term relationships than a quick sale. That is my kind of place.
They also have several hard-to-find bikes in stock, and he was happy to let me try a few of them (and even made a great recommendation for one I had not considered). Thanks Davey!
I also enjoyed the email back-and-forth with Robert as I was making an inquiry and setting up an appointment.

Rented a family cargo bike from these guys and had the best time riding around town. The bike was incredible...enough room to haul 3 kids plus extra storage on the back. The electric assist made riding 30-40 miles/day a breeze and the batteries were still ~70% charged at the end of the day. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend!

We bought our family bicycle through G&O a little over a year ago and it’s been pretty awesome! Their team let us demo a bunch of bikes and helped talk us through the details to figure out what we wanted. We recently upgraded our kickstand and the worksmanship was impeccable. Highly recommend.

A gem of a place. 5 stars for knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate staff and owners. I was visiting Seattle from another state and when I called to see if they would be open on July 4 (the only day I could go to the shop) they encouraged me to come while they did inventory. They took time to give me info and test ride bikes. They also actually discouraged me from buying from them because they said it would be in my own interest to work with a local shop so I could get tune-ups etc.! They were only helping for the sake of helping. Didn't know that existed anymore. . . I've called several times with follow up quesitque and each person is just as nice and knowledgeable as the last. Incredible!!

G&O Family Cyclery literally helped me change my lifestyle. They helped me get set up to bike with my daughter so that i have largely been able to avoid driving. I've become healthier and happier.
G&O hasn't just helped with my bike though. They are also very supportive in non material ways - advice, encouragement, and a very active presence in the local family biking community.
The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and they've been able to handle everything that I've needed help with, from picking a child seat to more complicated things like adding an electric motor.
Their selection of bikes and accessories is great. They've got a number on the floor to rest ride and have rented out bikes in the past (not sure if they are currently with their temporary space though). Be aware, though, that some of the accessories they sell are made to order and can require some lead time (such as the bags I ordered for my Yuba Mundo).
The only thing I'd say to be a little understanding of is that they get a lot of customers and occasionally there can be a bit of a wait - the stuff they do can take a lot of talking with their customers to narrow down their needs.

I spent months looking for the just-right bike, visiting shops that were incredibly condescending before I stumbled upon g and o. I never felt judged here for being a new bike rider. Robert, Davey, Jenna, Erika and Donald were all super helpful. I brought my 2yo in (pre covid) and he happily played while employees explained things to me. When I picked up my bike Jenna spent nearly an HOUR AND A HALF giving me the run down and installing my arm workout of a child seat because she’s so boss. I will say that if you are expecting to hear something via email and you don’t, just give them a call - this worked well in my case. I will also say that even though this is a business, they are also human and deserve a bit of grace and patience just like anyone else during this crazy time we are going through.

Absolutely incredible experience. They obviously do this because they love it. They were so kind every step of the way and I'm absolutely obsessed with my new bike. I had such a good experience that not only do I fully recommend them, I go out of my way to tell people about my positive experience. Thank you for everything!

Had a wonderful experience test driving and learning about cargo e-bike options today. The depth of knowledge of the staff was so much more than I could have hoped for and Seattle families are so fortunate to have the shop. Definitely check them out to see how to make bike adventures in Seattle work for you and your family!

G&o helped my wife size her bike, and answered all the questions we had. Looking around to purchase a bike, yourself a favor and just call them. Davey the owner was even nice enough to help us out directly. I can't recommend them enough.

Seriously, do you really need to know how or why these guys are so amazing??? Ever been to a bike shop before? Ever been treated like you don't belong? Ever been blown off because you don't speak bike jargon? That's the experience you'll have at most bike shops -- an attitude that suggests you're an inconvenience or a waste of time. Very unwelcoming!!! This will never happen at G&O! You might wait a while but that's only because these guys are so sweet and thoughtful that they want to give you their full attention. There's no pretense here! You matter the most in the moment. These guys know their $h!t but they'll never rub it in or make you feel like an idiot. I can't recommend a bike shop more highly than G&O. I qualify for free bike tune ups through my employer and yet I prefer to spend my hard earned money for the kindness, experience, and attention to detail I've always received at G&O. And don't even get me started about social justice. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST AND THE COOLEST!!!

Fantastic. This shop specializes in family/cargo biking, so if you're considering putting a kid (or two, or three, or four!) on your bike and/or carrying lots of stuff, definitely go here. Super friendly, knowledgeable staff and the owner (Davey Oil) is active in the community (e.g. the Seattle Family Biking Facebook group). You can even rent the bikes from Sun - Weds for a reasonable fee that gets applied to your bike purchase to get a feel for what they would be like in your life, on your commute, etc which is SUPER helpful for understanding how AWESOME your life will be less dependent on a car/transit! The shop itself is very kid friendly with toys and bathrooms that accommodate kids of all ages.

I've owned an electric bicycle shop across the country for years, and while I consider myself a specialist in the field, I won't take on cargo bike line without consulting with Davey first. He probably has the most comprehensive experience and expertise of cargo bikes in the country. He has a fine-tuned understanding of how each bike meets the needs of the rider and his or her precious cargo. There's a ton of little details that may or may not occur to you after some extended time with your cargo bike. He's very aware of how these details will apply to you and your experience. He's a pretty hilarious guy to boot. I just hopes he keeps his business on that side of the country.

This is probably the friendliest, most wholesome business you'll ever visit. It's a joy coming in here. The shop is beautiful and everyone is kind and welcoming, which is so appreciated as bike shops can be intimidating to new riders! Products combined with their enthusiasm makes you want to making riding a bigger part of your life!

Owner Davey is great to work with, bought ebike and accessories, smooth test drive process during Covid. Buying process just as easy. Can only highly recommend!

Called in to see if they could check out a bike I just bought. They were honest that they don't typically work on the type of bike that I have and reccomended a couple other bike shops where the work would be cheaper. Although I didn't actually do any business with them, they're clearly honest guys.

This shop is probably the most knowledgeable place about biking with kids in the nation. It's by far the most kid friendly bike shop in Seattle with a well stocked play area. Davey and Tyler will get you set up to ride with kids of any age and stage. Beyond that they have great mechanics on staff and will get your ride in great shape.

Got our daughter’s bike assembled here (a birthday gift from non-local family), and the customer service was great. We got an appointment about a week out, and it was done in a couple hours! Very friendly, very helpful.

Just an A+++ family bike shop. Helpful, welcoming, and informative to the max. I can't imagine how we would have coped with the various stages of our bike life without these folx in the neighborhood.
Boudewijn Rombouts
One of those local businesses that has genuine and strong ties to the community. They care about people, and it shows in what they do. I traveled from the peninsula to test ride and purchase with them.
J. Mark Weiss
Perhaps the only Seattle area bike shop focused on practical commuter, family and city bikes and e-bikes instead of recreational bikes. Friendly and excellent service.
Ian Dotson
Davey and co are genuinely great people and G&O is a fantastic bike shop.
