My go to local bike shop. Chris and Glen are master techs, very polite, detailed oriented. They have done tires/tube, carbon handlebars/seatposts, speedometers, online shipped bike assembly, tuning my precious carbon roadie, changing cassettes, you name it. Sometimes expect a few day wait (they are short staffed), they are also not cheap (at $100 shop hour for labor in Sept 2022) but the service I have gotten is top notch and I just trust them to do it right. They are also not snobbish at all and will treat your beater or your carbon fancy frame well. For bike fitting I go to other places.

Quick, friendly, incredibly competent and honest service: Counterbalance came highly recommended by a friend who doubted I could have my bike repaired soon because it’s so popular.
The very approachable mechanic at the store took the time to test ride & diagnose my problem (a loose hub on my front wheel), which I quickly remedied on my own.
I left Counterbalance with my Serrota road bike squeak-free, ready to roll down the Burke Gilman trail, and with a very satisfied rider. I am definitely coming back.

These guys have the best of essentials, parts, helmets, saddles, accessories, etc.… Very knowledgeable friendly and helpful staff. It’s the perfect place to call in if you’re riding down the Burke and think you might need a tweak, adjustment, or upgrade. No clothing to speak of except for gloves and helmets.

Came in today with a Marin a bike thats been sitting around a while. Needed some TLC, adjustments. I wasn't sure what exactly it needed beyond a few adjustments with brake pad, chain, etc. The gentleman there explained each little thing he did, took his time to show me and charged me a very reasonable, honest fee to get me on the road. Friendly, professional service. Thank you!

The service is absolutely the best. The last time I brought my bike in, they not only fixed it right then and there free of charge, they explained the issue and taught me how to address it myself. They could have taken advantage of my ignorance and upselled me, but instead they took the time to teach me.

Great shop to pop in for a quick fix a flat or allllll the bike knowledge bombs you could ever ask for. Super friendly and kind staff. Their love for bikes is noticeable as soon as you walk in the door.

I’ve been to about a dozen bike shops in Seattle, and this is the one I will always come back to for service on my bike. The mechanics here are real pros, but they’re also friendly and relatable folks without a hint of the elitism that you run into sometimes in the bicycle world. Shido did a a flawless job installing Honjo fenders on my Gunnar, and Phillip did a super comprehensive tuneup on my girlfriend’s old Trek. It’s like a new bike. She went from riding once or twice a year to riding everyday. She has a Strava now!

Purchased my bike here in 2008 and have always taken it back here for great, friendly service.

I am giving a 5 star review. I used their air compressor to pump up my bike tires which were practically flat. When I had trouble using it, someone came to help me.
