Reviews of 20/20 Cycle
Great bike shop! They're helpful, honest, and reasonably priced. Most recently I got my chain replaced (was ready in a few hours - it runs beautifully) and bought a light. highly recommend :)
I love 20/20. I've been a customer here many times. Today the service was quick and friendly as it has been every time before. I had a rear flat tire. The owner said it would be fixed in 10 minutes. I bet he took 9, and I was on my way.
Fantastic bike shop with a great selection of new and used parts. They have awesome choices for things like housing compared to most other shops around town. The mechanics are incredibly nice and always have tea outside for passerbys and patrons to enjoy!
The folks at 20/20 have talked me out of buying something more than once.
When I was first getting my bike, I was between one that went for $550 and one for $750. After taking the cheaper bike for a test ride, I asked “so what will 200 more dollars get me?” Without missing a beat, he said “honestly, if you felt good on the cheaper one I’d just go with that and save yourself the money!” How could I argue?
I’ve been talked out of getting repair gear I didn’t really need just to ride around the city, fancy racks that work no better than the basic model, and panniers I didn’t have a use for yet. It’s an unusual experience to go into a store and have them actively try *not* to sell you something, and it’s built a lot of trust with me.
I’ve stopped by with a few minor issues or repair questions and they’ve always helped get things working on the spot and sent me on my way. I’d recommend this shop to anybody.
A while back i purchased a vintage bike off of craigslist that was more or less just wheels and a frame with some left over parts attached. I was excited to ride again and took the bike to a shop in the udistrict that, much to my horror, quoted $400 and a wait time of 3 months to fix it. Needless to say i was very disappointed, and not having the tools, parts, or expertise to fix the bike myself I left it in the corner of my apartment; maybe resell it and find a new ride.
I eventually found myself at 20/20 looking at the bikes they had on display outside when one of the employees asked if i needed any help and explained all of the bikes they had on sale. I mentioned the bike and he offered to take a look and perhaps trade it in if i wanted one of the bikes for sale. After running through all of what could be done he quoted me less than half of what the other shop did and I could have my bike back in a week. I've now ridden over a hundred miles on the bike since getting it back and it's as smooth as if it was just purchased new yesterday.
I cannot thank this shop enough for saving my bike and helping me get back on the road.
I went in almost at closing time but was still welcomed and readily helped with everything I needed. Chris helped cut a seating tube, found the exact type of pedals and mini pump that I was looking for. He also found me a mounting attachment for the mini pump. And the shop has fenders for 650 wheels!! Prices were very reasonable too. This is my go-to bike shop from now on.
Above and beyond my expectations.
My rusty bike chain popped off one day.
I went in, they inspected the bicycle with me, we agreed that a new chain was needed, they told me the price of a new chain was about $15 plus labor, and told me they will call me when the bike is ready.
24 hours later, they called saying that it was ready.
They gave me new chains, and I paid less than what I expected.
As soon as I left, I noticed they additionally replaced the construction screws that I used to attach a rear rack with the proper bolts.
(the original bolts fell out and disappeared so I used some construction screws as a replacement to the missing bolts)
Very friendly associates/partners who provide the best services with a wealth of bicycle maintenance knowledge.
Best biking service we’ve experienced in Seattle. I will come back anytime! Thank you
I stopped by on a whim and set up an appointment to have my bike tuned up. They were really helpful and clear what days were available and when I could drop off and pick up my bike. They took my name, make/model of my bike, and a $40 deposit. I was on my way in less than five minutes.
Due to my schedule and them being closed Mondays & Tuesdays, I dropped off my bike late Sunday for a Thursday tune up. I had forgotten my deposit receipt but they had the info and, again, was on my way in less than five minutes.
They finished the tune up and left a voicemail saying my bike was available for pickup Wednesday.
I meant to point out a couple things I wanted them to look at specifically but forgot while doing off my bike. They found those issues, fixed them, replaced my brake pads, and, all in all, was quicker, cheaper, and better than the service I've gotten at REI. (Yes, I know. What was I expecting from REI??)
I'll definitely go back there the next time.
As a woman I don't always feel welcome or comfortable at all bike shops. Often I feel talked down to or patronized, despite being a serious distance cyclist for15 years. At 2020 I have never felt this way. They have always been helpful and have treated me with respect, answering questions and not assuming a lack of knowledge on my part. Over the years, I have also witnessed them have many meaningful and kind interactions with the community, including helping people who are living in vulnerable situations/outdoors get their transportation fixed up for low/no cost. They are a true community bike shop. Ever though they are currently booked out for nearly a full month, they are totally worth the wait.
I’m so happy with the major tune up and switch out of handle bars and stem that 2020 did. I love my “new” thirty year old bike. I can’t recommend this shop enough for service, price and honest work. Ask any question and you’ll get an answer from someone who loves their bike as much as you.
Was surprised they were open until 7pm on Sundays, which was awesome because at 6pm I thought I'd have to wait another week to finish the project. The guys had a friendly vibe going and as soon as I walked in were available. The man who helped me searched for a part for me and answered all my questions being sure to consider aspects I only vaguely knew were relevant beforehand. I would definitely recommend taking your bike here for repairs or for buying your supplies as the guys are knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to help you understand your bike.
I want to update this review (11 mos later) to include another great experience a month or so ago. I went to buy another part bc I didn't want to mess with Amazon and mentioned to the man who came to the door (COVID) to help that I had also taken the back wheel off and was then experiencing a jamming type clunking off and on. The guy just literally glanced - GLANCED, passed his hand over one of the adjusters with a swipe and fixed my bike. Like it was nothing and when I not realizing he had already fixed it was like, wait what do I need to adjust, he says "oh it should be set" and demonstrated the fix. And it was fixed! Seriously, every time I leave feeling really taken care of and like they're all great/patient/awesome!
Had been going back and forth as to whether it was worth it to pay for a tune-up or whether I should just try to fix the bike up myself. In the end, I am very glad I went for it, and VERY glad I got it done at 20/20. Great shop! Great guys! Pros! And very fair prices! I feel like I got a new bike.
Chris and all the other folks at 2020 are just simply divine. These folks built up a super bike for me in a short time frame, advising me on the parts I need and not just what was the most top of the line. They even figured out almost my exact bike fit just by looking at me.
They also service all sorts of bikes, and can usually bodge up all sorts of solutions to any problems you have. I see them help all sorts of folks in the community, and I hope everyone comes in here whether their bike has a weird squeak, or their electronic groupset needs some tuning.
Great local bike shop, with lots of knowledge and used parts for steel bikes. I'm sure they're perfectly expert with other frame types as well. I bring my bike here for a yearly tune up.
I can kind of understand the "condescension" some people remark on here: I've gotten what I would call a little friendly ribbing from some of the staff. I personally appreciate that they haven't gotten the personality beat out of them by some corporate customer service training program.
Brought my bike in because it was not shifting properly and the mechanic, Scot, looked at it and told me what he thought to be the problem. He explained how he would fix it and gave me an estimate on time and cost. He had to replace a part and take my entire chain off. I picked the bike up the following day. Very reasonably priced and friendly service. I've definitely recommend 20/20 to my friends and will continue to go there.
Awesome bike shop! They have a ton of gear for a smallish space. I came home with the exact handlebars, grips, rear carrier, reflector, and front light I was looking for. All used (except the grips) and all super affordable. The guy who was working there went out of his way to help me out, even drilling a new hole into my back carrier to fit the reflector I picked, and checking out a pic of my bike to see how I would install the front light, and whether my new handlebars would fit my stem. I will definitely come back here.
Great shop for mechanics! Most shops either don't sell tools or take forever to order them (even though you know they can get it easily), but I ordered an obscure tool from 20/20 and they had it for me the next day. They saved the day, I was able to repair my fork and get back on the trails!
Really nice people, I'll keep shopping there even though it's far from my house.
Very helpful and kind. Helped me fixing my bike's seat.
These guys are great!!! I love the hands on approach they have with customers and their bikes. It's not just about one part to replace on a bike, it's the overall health of the bicycle that matters. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and great service. Will recommend and come back again!
I came here when I had a tire blowout and I didnt have my kit with me. They took care of me for a reasonable price. The staff was kind and quick. I also was able to rummage through the used items and find a replacement holder for my bike ulock which had broken. Overall a nice local shop with quickb reasonable prices. They have a good selection of gently used equipment for a good price as well!
Extremely friendly, quick service, great COVID-19 safety precautions, and they were even willing to work with my budget! Riding home my old-but-reliable bike felt better than it had in years....this is definitely going to be my new go-to neighborhood bike shop!!
ugh i love this place so much. they tuned up my bike after i moved back from new york a few years ago and have been my go-to spot for all the things (pedals, lights, mini pump, helmet). when i started getting interested in touring, they talked me through what to look for in a touring bike and when i brought in a soma saga i'd gotten on craigslist, they straightened out the fork for me and then fixed a bunch of stuff that broke after my first mini tour to bellingham. super knowledgeable, straight up, and nice- lucky to have them in the neighborhood ✨
Can't thank 20/20 Cycle enough for helping me to modify my old bike to make it more commuter friendly. They were helpful, quick, and COVID conscious throughout the process. I had been putting these modifications off for a long time and after the ease of working with 20/20 Cycle, I am not sure why I waited so long!
Great, quick service! A nice neighborhood shop for shopping/bike repairs. Only needed a flat fix, but it was quick and professional. Waited about 10 minutes at most. Definitely recommend for people both in the neighborhood and passersby.
20/20 has been one of my favorite bike shops for over 5 years, all the guys are cool and extremely efficient at what they do. I came in yesterday with a front wheel some hooligan jacked up. They got it replaced with a really nice used wheel and had me rolling out the door in no time flat for a reasonable rate. This place is my go-to bike shop!
If you're looking for a practical, friendly, and well-price bike shop, check these guys out. I'm so glad I did.
My vintage euro-racer road bike needed a new freewheel. The size was rather specific and uncommon among new parts due to the vintage of my bike and components. After calling around to some vintage specialists, and being intimidated by hard-to-accomodate schedules, and the looming possibility of a high price tag to replace the Campagnolo parts, I decided to shop around for used parts locally. My first stop was 20/20 Cycle because they were nearby and friendly on the phone. So glad I went with these guys! They had a compatible used part on the shelf, swapped it out right on the spot. It wasn't Campy, but who cares? It works! I went for a quick test right right there, and came back to happily pay them. The price was lower than I expected. The service was great, and I'm so happy to have my vintage road bike back on the road again! A 53 mile ride the following day proved the quality of the repair.
I love this bike shop. I go here about once every 2-3 months. Staff are really amazing. They always do a good job with my bike for everything I need help with, and don’t try to up sell me which is a HUGE plus for a bike shop.
Can bike building be poetry? I have owned several reconstructed vintage touring bikes in my urban career and, although I am an otherwise dedicated DIYer, baptized in the unending frustrations of self-sewn clothes and improvised tablesaw fences, I have always left bike manifestation and maintenance to the experts. Despite this experience with past art, the bike I purchased at 20/20 far exceeded my expectations and it has taken a year of riding it daily for me to really understand the depth of thought and experience that went into this vehicle of unrelenting conveyance.
Take, for example, the superior clamp brakes cleverly mounted at the end of extended threaded posts such that I could later easily swap out a spacing washer for the brackets of a set of cargo racks, and each clamp with a little adjuster doohickey to adjust and compensate for wear on the brake pads. Sufficient stopping confidence to safely surf the steep asphalt waves of the International District even during wet conditions.
Or the oversized road wheels, the benefit of which I didn't realize until navigating the concrete pads on 70th Street, jutting and cracked like tilt-shifted tectonic plates, while making my way directly up the side of Phinney Ridge on frosty mornings. When combined with the high gearing and balanced friction shifting, no zenith has conquered me or driven my rear wheel to the side in a dangerous mid-slope splay.
But perhaps it's just a bike, likely to be eventually stolen and chopped after being improperly locked outside a cafe. And maybe rezzing old touring bikes is a job, a holdover for the gear-inclined uninterested in feeding the Amazon machine. And I'm just commuting in a city made hostile by 60s-era automotive industry lobbyists. But if this is the case, then Dr. Zhivago is right when he says poetry is merely a regular part of the good life, not a profession, and 20/20 Cycle is a place where the good life thrives.
Absolutely stellar service. I use my bike for deliveries, and can often rely on them to quickly fix a problem before my shift starts. They're super reasonable, and don't pass judgement on the state of my bike. Willing to work within a budget!
Very impressed! I got 'tapped' by a car a few days ago, and it bent my front rim, crank, and damaged the brakes. Based on the Google reviews, I took the bike here.. they had a number of used rims which fit my bike, and a used crank (although mine is an odd size.) I got out of there for under $100 with a new rim, crank, brake spacers (all installed) and a tune-up. That price includes a new $45 helmet. I will definitely use them again.
Excellent bike shop! Efficient use of a small space, friendly people, and has a neat community feel to it. It doesn't feel like someone's trying to sell you something. It's more like you're having a great time talking about bikes and whatever situation you brought it in with.
Great bicycle repair shop. Often will fix your bike as you wait while you see how they adeptly work on your bike. They also buy and sell used bikes and parts. They have welcomed me for years as I collect surplus bike parts from and still usable tires and inner tubes for the Village Bicycle Project to send to Ghana and Sierra Leone.
These guys are awesome. Have had several things built up (wheels, etc) and repairs. Super friendly and approachable. Even when they sometimes don’t charge us for a quick repair, we buy something from the shop anyway.
Great shop! Got a used (put-together and spruced up by the staff) bike at a good price, staff was super helpful even while balancing a lot of customers.
The walls at 2020 lined with fixed up well loved old bikes seemingly full of stories. The mechanics have soul for these bikes and kindness for their customers. They get you fixed up quick when you need it and ask how you are doing if you've fallen.
I am always pleased with the service provided at 20/20. I come regularly for quick repairs and maintenance on my bicycle - they get it done quickly and the cost is fair. I'll definitely keep coming here as long as I'm riding a bike in Seattle.
I do repairs on my bike. But I still need parts. I went to 20/20 for brake pads, pedals, ball bearings and grease. Every time I got what I needed, quickly, at a decent price and with expert and friendly advice. It is not even worth browsing the internet beforehand. I wish more stores were like 20/20. If I could change anything? Opening time before 11am.
Great peeps!!!! Totally authentic and helpful. My bikes go no where else. I can't recommend them enough. White glove treatment with utterly reasonable rates. So solid. Neighborly and rad!
Didn't like the service- condescending, limited interest, almost disinterest. And a specific adjustment I needed wasn't even done, or didn't seem like it- Won't use them again.
Ok I will change my review- that was my experience the first time. Just not good communication.
Today I went in because was messing up and I got great service and tips on how to make the adjustments that the repair person was making. Restored my faith.
So I need to be a good consumer and ask questions and the like...
Very friendly owner, straight away helped me out, has a lot of second parts at attractive prices, it's a dream come through place if you wanna put together an old cheap bike for commuting. He was kind enough to refer me to other shops to find what I wanted, I would say that's very pro.
I went in without much knowledge about bikes, hoping to learn more. Employees were friendly and instructive without being patronizing. And it was clear that they wanted to put me on the right bike and not just make a sale.
Friendly staff with deep cycling knowledge. This shop sells new and used parts, and they'll work with any budget. I'm often surprised how quickly they get get repair work done.
Super cool hooked me up with the tool I needed
I love this b shop! All the guys work really hard at taking care of my bike. Even Alex he’s kool, he will jump in and help and he’s owner!
My go-to bike shop, I have been coming here for years. The folks here are always super happy and helpful. They go the extra mile for their customers. Love this place!
Diagnosed the problem with chain jumping very promptly and fixed it. Took out for a test ride to make sure the problem was fixed. Noticed cranky handlebar and loose rear wheel and fixed it promptly. Really satisfied with the service
I went in to have my freewheel swapped and it was the best bike shop service I've had. It was super quick and affordable. Definitely going back.
Was treated to a quick repair and answers to all my concerns. Very friendly and professional. Thank you
Really friendly people, didn't charge me for a small fix/some advice. Looked like they have some great deals on refurbished bikes.
Friendly staff, small intimate bike shop. Found the stuff I needed for a new e-bike build
My favorite shop in Seattle. None of the condescending vibe that you might have gotten at other shops. Friendly staff and great selection of new/old parts.
Had my SPD SL clip pedals break on me one day and they hooked me up with a free pair of used ones from the back. Gonna come back with my business when COVID is over!
Always helpful, knowledgeable, and good value. They will order parts you are looking for if they don't carry it. Always happy to support a good, friendly local business.
Hi, I had bought a Bern Helmet from your shop about 6 months back..I'm currently stationed in Korea, I was looking at another model but not sure of the name??( 8 Ball, one helmet that had a STAR on it like Air Force, alot of different other designs.) can anyone help me out..Trying to figure out the name of the manufacture so I can search it on the web..Thanks!!!
Oh Yea out of all the other shops I had visited when living in Seattle, These guys were the only down to earth people I meet, even though I had a Vintage NISHIKI!!!!
They do a great job and don't charge too much. Also there's a pretty good selection of used parts that are fairly priced.
Cool shop. Lots of deals on used bikes. Variety of pannier bags. Not enough parts. Good new products.
Super friendly and knowledgeable. Got my bike serviced very quickly. They take Covid19 seriously.
Helped me out changing my electric scooter's tube even though they don't service scooters. Awesome service! Thanks!
Amazing Service
I went 3-4 times to the shop and amazing service in all times. First of all very friendly guys. Three different people gave me service at different times, but all of them the same, at high quality service. Awsome! Both customer service and qualifications.
Great service during these tough times. Still my go-to bike shop even though I moved out of the neighborhood 3 years ago.
Excellent service, competent bike mechanics. If you are looking for a place to have your bike serviced or repaired this is the place to go.
Exceptional and friendly service from the staff. Multiple options for various budgets and great variety of parts. I will for sure be returning anytime I need work or parts.
I've ridden three bikes worked on by this shop (and many bikes over a lifetime) and the service is impeccable.
Super nice ppl, happy to give information to a beginning bike owner. :) highly recommend
They help me get my bike back on the road whenever I get a flat. Prices may seem high but they might make cuts for regular customers.
The folks here went above and beyond to bring new life into my beat up bike. Friendly and helpful
One of the few bike shops that stock Jones and Jannd parts. This is a must visit shop, complete with awesome customer service.
Great price on parts, speedy checkout, friendly service and easy Covid-safe setup
Good supply selection, lots of vintage bikes, excellent service and repairs.
Love these guys. Alex had my bike on the stand and fixed in less than 30 seconds.
Yeah, it's good. A little of old Seattle, not as harried as the big places. I came all the way over from Greenlake!
Friendly and quick service. Will be my bicycle repair and service people as long as they remain open.
Awesome service, super friendly folks. You bike is in good hands there!
Super friendly and knowledgeable :) A very pleasant experience
Thanks Daniel, good vibin energy, very helpful. Also, great selection of recycled and new components.
Nice low key place with helpful staff. Definitely will be going back.
Locally owned business with very helpful and friendly staff. Very nice selection even though it's a small store.
These guys are great. Will continue to go to them. Very justified pricing.
Great people, awesome service. Good knowledge. Thanks guys!!
Wow. Just some of the nicest, most helpful people on the planet.
Best bike shop anywhere ever.
Great folks and great place. Extremely helpful.
Such a community gem. They will treat you right!
Favorite bike shop in Seattle.
