Brought a Specialized Mountain Bike here for service as the brakes were squealing. Quick turnaround and a perfect repair. Shop also has a huge and varied selection of high end, high quality bicycles and accessories. Will definitely use again.

Excellent customer service and top quality bike repair. My 12 year old road bike is running like new after a gear cable repair. They also tuned up the cassette on my Wahoo kicker for no charge which they did not have to do. Just a great neighborhood bike shop for all levels of bicycle owners.

This shop is the gold standard of customer service and expertise on bicycles. My husband has an old bike (over 20 years old) and for Christmas I decided I would give it a complete makeover. I called another shop and they refused to work on “such an old bike”. But when I called Ridgewood Cycle they said “Sure! Bring it in!” They walked me through all of the options and after new wheels, seat, chain, complete tuneup etc - the bike looks brand new. And they did it all in one day - in time for Christmas! I went in there after driving from a shop in Wyckoff where I had a poor customer experience. The Covid-19 policies were clearly stated, and the staff was very helpful. I was able to get someone to quickly review the bike I had brought, and while they were too backed up to service it themselves, they were happy to sell me the break cable I needed to fix it. Another staff member in the store helped me pick out a bike helmet and pair of bike locks for my sons. 20 minutes at home of installing the new cable and the bike is working great again.

Great place for bicycle repairs. These guys know their bikes. Elliot spent time with me on the phone, brainstorming how best to achieve my goal of changing the gear ratios to accommodate my ageing knees (!). They made the whole thing real easy. They happened to have the unusual size chainrings I wanted in stock. They made the change and charged a very reasonable price. From now on, this is my go-to bike shop. It's great to find a place staffed by bicycle lovers, vs a chain store that's all about the money. This is what all bike shops should be.

I've shopped here for years and have purchased 4 bikes. Drew the owner is great, and there's a few nice employees. But consistently, there's a few pompous employees who seem irritated to help you and have poor customer service skills. Plus now there's a guy outside due to COVID controlling the line who also has bad customer service skills. I think at this point, I'm ready to shop elsewhere. Why else be loyal if the workers aren't friendly? As much as I'd like to help a local business, I value customer service too much.

We went to Westwood Cycle today (7/25/2020) to purchase a bicycle for my daughter in the $2000 price range. The young man who was assisting us was helpful. A little while later, the owner ordered the young man to stop assisting us, and to help other people because a line was forming outside. We were going to purchase a bicycle with the young man, but was turned off by the owner’s attitude and demeanor towards us. I guess in his haste for a dollar, he assumed that someone who looks like me was a waste of time. One of my two road bikes cost $11,000, but this was my daughter’s first road bike so I kept it in the $2000 price range. Needless to say we left Westwood Cycle and was able to purchase a bike for $2600 at Ridgewood Cycle. The staff at Ridgewood were all friendly, professional and accommodating. Dan Elliot took his time to help us with everything we needed. Absolutely no pressure. A female worker who was not even assisting us came over and asked if we were happy with everything. If you wish to have an outstanding bicycle purchase experience, I’d suggest that you purchase from Ridgewood Cycle.

I basically ruined my wheel by pulling out my fixed rear axle (skewer) because I thought I could easily switch it to a quick release. First shop I went to refused to look at it because I didnt buy my bike from them. Luckily I then stopped at Ridgewood Cycle Shoo. Ridgewood cycle shop was very understanding and explained to me the error I committed and took great care of me. I walked out with my bike fixed, a learned lesson and a new go-to shop. Their customer service has won them a life time customer and when the time comes for me to upgrade to a new bicycle I will be stopping at this shop first!

Son's bike needed to be fixed after a drop and the switching mechanism getting cracked. Awesome experience overall: The mechanic took the bike, reviewed the damage, confirmed he will fix it within 30 minutes. I went for coffee, caught some sun in the parking lot and 30 minutes later picked up the bike all fixed, tuned up and ready to roll. The price was extremely low as well. Next time will come here first.

Marathoner turned cyclist and I know little to nothing about cycling. Got into the world of road biking recently and have to say that I highly recommend this shop thanks to Elliot. He helped me get into the right shoes/cleats and went the extra mile with adjustments and tips on how to improve my riding experience. I'll be back here for my tune-ups and future equipment needs!

I've shopped many cycle shops in Northern NJ and Ridgewood cycle shop is the gold standard. The selection is second to none, the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and I enjoyed buying my new Trek checkpoint from them with all my questions answered. They even called Trek to confirm! In the past, I used them to service my more rare and tricky Tern x30h folding road bike and for once, it was returned to me in perfect condition. From service to new bike sales and advice, there no better place to shop. RCS is my favorite LBS.

Anthony has worked on my bike a few times and was extremely helpful and thorough, offering much appreciated suggestions on selecting the best products and methods for routine cleaning and maintenance. The Ridgewood Cycle Shop put together two Diamondback bicycles that I purchased through Diamondback directly. Prices are fair, staff is nice. The bikes were ready within a day which was great. One of the bikes gears does not switch properly, however I haven't had a chance to bring it back to the shop to be adjusted.

Looked for a bike during covid was like looking for a needle in a haystack....i stumbled on Ridgewood Cycle.....called them- Sue answered. She confirmed she had the bike i was looking for. Told her i would be by later....got the door. She answered it....told her i was looking for a bike for my daughter> she said did you call this morning? I said yes@! she showed us the bike we called about and another similar bike.....had my daughter test ride both....explained the differences, answered our questions and when we told her we wanted to think about it and get back to her.....and instead of being annoyed or short with us>>she thanked us/gave us her email/told us to call with any questions and then told my 13 year old she was doing the right thing to think about it and compare. She was great....and we gladly returned to buy from her........Nice to have a local shop that actually "adds value"! Most times you can educate yourself more than the salesperson by looking online. Go support your local shop! A++

I actually ended up at this place after I could no longer contain my disappointment with the poor attitude at my local bike shop. The guys up here in Ridgewood are great they can fix just about anything you bring through the door and will do it quickly and with a smile. These folks unpacked and re-assembled my fully custom race bike which has dozens upon dozens of parts that I know for a fact is not easy to put together! This is simply the best LBS in Bergen County and possibly the NYC area. I've been going here for 30 years. Everyone working there knows bikes! The mechanics and sales people are excellent. I've purchased six bikes over the years from RCS and had them serviced there. Always pleased! When I was hit by a car and my bike was destroyed, the people of RCS helped me work with insurance to get my bike replaced.

Been there twice. Parking available at the rear. Staff is knowledgeable and turnaround is quick. However, the prices seem a bit high. But, considering how expensive brick and mortar overhead is....they do a good job. I would recommend market based pricing for things like bike assembly.

Anthony, Elliot, and the rest of the crew at Ridgewood Cycle represent everything that's great about local bike shops. I go here for everything--they've tuned up my cranky old Miyata, quickly swapped a stem to get my Surly to fit just right, and worked patiently with me to build up a custom Soma Smoothie from scratch. Every interaction I've had with them has been friendly and enthusiastic. Above all, they are respectful of all types of riders, from the hardcore roadie to the newcomer. If you're looking for service, you won't find a better mechanic in the area than Anthony. And if you're shopping for gear or a new bike, Elliot does an outstanding job of listening to your needs and coming up with the right solution for your budget.

Called Ridgewood Cycle not knowing anyone there and asked for trail advice. They put Anthony on the phone and he was super knowledgeable and aware of conditions. I needed a chainring changed so I brought my bike in the next day. Anthony came in on his day off, got the bike done a few hours later, did about a hundred extra little things that I never would have thought of, and only charged for the services that I asked for initially. Anthony is 23 years old and is a lunatic with a wrench. This is the guy you want working on your bike. I'm pretty sure he liked my bike more than I do and I paid more for it than some spend on a car. When I built and raced cars I was in my early twenties, and when I walked into the pits or an engine shop people just got out of my way because I had already forgotten more modern tech than anybody ever knew. Anthony is the same with bikes. Go get your bike fixed before he is lost to a World Cup Mechanic career forever...

The best LBS in Bergen County. I've been riding since I was born. Was licensed to race in my late teens and twenties. Over the years, i've bought my wife and kids great bikes from Ridgewood Cycle with expert advice. I've taken my various Bianchis (from columbus/nuovo record to carbon/chorus) for work. UPDATE: Was hit by a car for the first time in 33 years of riding the roads of North Jersey. Andrew and staff looked my bike over thoroughly, worked with insurance through the claims process, and helped me replace my bike with settlement funds. They made the super-difficult situation of losing a pricey bike I loved into a positive situation of looking forward to a bike that is even better for me.
