I just came from this wonderful place to get my bike looked at. Casey & John were so friendly, so beyond helpful, & all around gracious on repairing my back tire. Casey looked at my bike & was knowledgeable on what was going on. He told me the problem & fixed it with no charge. GO TO GERKENS FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS!!! They got you!

The last two bikes I’ve gotten from Brooklyn Bicycle Co (which manufactures rly high quality bikes). Brooklyn Bicycle sends the parts out and the Gerken’s builds the bike out. It’s been such a seamless process and the entire staff at Gerkens are always so kind and helpful with making sure it’s the right fit before I walk out with it. Highly recommend this store, they always put a smile on my face. Thank you for the great customer service!

So appreciate Gerken's! I got the full regular tune up and was very happy with the time it took and the quality of the work. Fast forward a couple of weeks — I discover my tire flat again, and I'm moving cross-country the next day. I'm counting on having my bike with me & functional because it'll be a few weeks of travel and I like to ride when I'm in new places. But clearly there's some kind of pokey bit on my bike that's causing the tire self-destructs. So like less than 2 hours before their closing time on my last day in town I brought it back to Gerken's and they figured out what was puncturing my tires, fixed it up, and gave it back in maybe half an hour for only the price of the tube. Not only did they fit me in at the end of the day, turns out they're closing for a week or two the same day I'm leaving, so it's also their last day in the shop for a while and they still made time for me. A+, thanks for the great service.

I've been bringing my bike to Gerkens 5+ times/year for tune-ups, flats, creaking joints, everything, for 11 years and they're wonderful and always do such great work. The staff are always kind and patient and they always do a fantastic job, very quickly and on the cheap. I've been to every other bike shop in the city over the years and Gerkens is by far the best in town, no contest.

i went to Gerken's Bike Shop to have my brakes adjusted. I have gone there several times to have my tire fixed and I always have a good experience. They asked about the bike and how it was riding and I decided to just have the brakes adjusted. They did an excellent job. My brakes are now awesome and they also tightened my gears and made sure the tires were in good shape. The service is great and efficient and done in a timely manner. I recommend them for your bike service.

Casey was extremely helpful and very sympathetic for the fact that another bicycle shop in Frenchman was not polite. Spent over $700 and they took very good care of me was extremely polite listened to the things I needed on my bicycle in aided me and finding all of the accessories that I needed. I went to Gerken's Bike Shop with a major problem and needed some solutions to resolve the issue for a project that I was working on for my children at school. Alice was very knowledgeable and helpful and offered suggestions to resolve the issue. I thought the prices of the product that I purchased was reasonable. Had the folks at Gerken's replace my rear rim and brake after it could not be repaired. Fair price and great work. Great customer service and I appreciated the COVID aware atmosphere! Highly recommended!!!

Very down to earth crew. All repairs were done right the first time. Exceptional about having work done by time estimated/expected... expect a friendly phone call the minute your bike is ready for you! Customer service is great- staff is welcoming, happy to discuss repairs, or even take the time to help select the best bell (it's the Ding Dong). Also, their cat is pretty cool too!

I love this bike shop - best in new orleans in my opinion. When you take your bike in for repair, they give you an estimate and then once they go to work on it, they call to confirm if theres any extra cost. They keep a lot of parts in stock which means they can do repairs more quickly. The staff is super knowledgeable, dedicated to supporting bike culture, and friendly. I hate going anywhere else. Thanks for always taking good care of my folding bike for me, Gerken’s!

Great service! Fast and friendly and PROFESSIONAL! FLAT TIRE RRPAIR, was a walk in and out in 20 minutes, AND they oiled my chain, tightened my seat and put valve covers on both tires. Good, NO GRRRRRREAT SERVICE! Knowledgeable and friendly staff! I will be a REGULAR now! I am so glad the down the street competition was closed on Monday, because it allowed Me to realize, there is NO competition!! NOLA'S Best!

I was in metairie with my bike and happen to untrue my wheel and bust a bearing so I brought it to the closest shop there called bike world...well since my bike was a cheap 300$ mountian bike the guy refused to work or look at it. I decided to go back to a shop that helped me before back in new Orleans and dropped it off at gerkens bike shop. They had the bike completely fixed in around 40minutes and for a very reasonable price. I 100% recommend these guys for any bike repairs or bikes. The workers was friendly and helpful!!!

Gerkins is HANDS DOWN the BEST bike shop in New Orelans. They are friendly, conscientious, reasonably priced and did I mention FRIENDLY? I am new to Nola and my bike had been idling a while prior to landing. I blew out a tire on my second day here so after reading the reviews about the rude service and high prices of the others and all the nice things that were said about Gerkins, I loaded my bike in my trunk and headed over. Casey came out to my car and helped me unload my bike. He looked her over and said he would give her a tune-up while he had her racked up to fix the tire. A few hours later, he called me to tell me he discovered I had some issues with my rear wheel hub and asked my permission to fix them. When I arrived, he said he had found an issue with my brake cable and asked if he should fix that as well. My bike had a long-standing problem with a list to the left - in addition to making her as right as rain he found and fixed the list. He test-drove my bike to make sure everything was just right before giving it back to me. The total cost for all this awesome service? $78! SO VERY WORTH IT. TEN THUMBS UP FOR GERKINS!

I really love this store iv been going for years! and i always bring people in who dont know about it! the prices cant be beat! I once bought a bike seat from a certain COUGH-COUGH* Mikes bike shop! COUGH-COUGH! that bike seat was sold at 70 dollars! and over at gerkens it was sold at 20 ill never go to mikes again!

I am new to Nola and dropped in because it was the closest to my house, brilliant service, very friendly and reasonable prices… Highly recommended when you need to fix your bike, they don't carry an all to large stock on parts, though.
