I don’t speak much English, but Mark is very helpful and professional, I live in St. Paul and am now in his new address I am considering make the trip ones a year to St. Peter, ( if don’t find somebody trustful)

We got a flat biking the St. Paul Classic and Mark and Amanda took great care of us! We’re back on our way and couldn’t be more grateful!

I had a few minor issues with my bike that could have become major ones. The owner was very responsive and was able to get my bike in for a quick look. He went through several things, found several instances of sloppy work by another shop I shall not name, and corrected it all. That he did it quickly and fairly priced is nice. He also shared some knowledge with me about further preventive measures I can take, should my issues return or persist.
He's got a new customer with tuneups and repairs. I recommend.
Add/edit: I'll add that Mark is highly transparent about the work he does and has made me smarter about bikes. I've been able to get one person there and will continue to refer others.

This bike shop is our new favorite! Their skilled mechanic squeezed my bike fix in less than 24 hours even though he was booked out for 2 weeks. My bike is in better condition than ever. Trust worthy. Absolutely reasonable pricing. Also fixed the previous poor jobs that Lowertown bike shop did. As long as we live in St Paul ,we will always be coming back here for our bike care. Thank you Smallest Cog Bicycle Shop!

I had recently bought a used bike that needed a tune up. I brought the bike to Mark and they did an excellent job! They have been super helpful and helped me with getting the gear for a proper fit. They have earned themselves a loyal customer and I would recommend his shop to anyone.

My husband and I had a babysitter and were ready for our date day. We were about to hit the trail and my husband's chain snapped. Called the smallest cog and they said they could help. Brought the bike in and in 15 minutes it was fixed and we were able to hit the trail. Super helpful friendly serivice. We got a new chain, the repair, and a bike lock for $50. Highly recommend!

Brought my 2014 Trek Domane 4.3 to Mark for an overhaul a few weeks ago - I needed a new rear wheel and a derailleur hanger replaced, among some other things. More than just a quick tune-up, let's put it that way! Mark was super about communicating, letting me know what he'd found, and making recommendations for parts that were in line with what my expectations were - both in terms of performance and cost.
I had my bike back about a week after I dropped it off. I've put about 100 miles on it since getting it back four days ago and I can honestly say that in the four years I've owned it, this bike has never felt better or rode more nicely than it does now.
And (at least for me!), he's just across the street to boot. If you're downtown (or even if you're not) and you value great work at a fair price in your bike shop, give Smallest Cog a look. I think you'll be super happy with the results. I know I am!

Mark is a versatile mechanic that works to understand and meet the needs of each rider. He's also thoughtful and strategic about advancing the role bikes, biking and cyclists have in making our world a better place. Great community bike shop with quality service at a fair price.

Brought my bike in for a check up after moving. Mark took a quick look at my bike, adjusted the derailleur, replaced a missing part, and replaced my front brake pads, all while making friendly conversation.
Great & quick service, friendly owner, reasonable prices . All in all a fantastic neighborhood bike shop.

I know almost all of f the bike shops in the area, but not all are open when I need it (flat tire near work). Mark from the Smallest Cog was able to help me this past Monday after running over a bunch of glass. I was miserable, hot and frustrated, mad I didn't ha e my own repair kit with me, for not paying attention, etc.
Mark was able to help me quickly and professionally. He also mentioned he started to carry a bike accessory because I had inquired about it in a previous visit.
I love shopping local, appreciate great customer service, and like reasonable prices. The Smallest Cog fits the bill on all of those fronts.

Brought my bike for a brake bleed as my brake was fading and not performing well. I got it fixed just in time to get it ready for my bikepacking trip, You want great service and getting your bike properly fixed? This is the shop to go to!

The Smallest Cog has been a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. I have taken my aging bike there several times for some minor issues/changes and a tune up. The service is fast, friendly, very reasonably priced (both parts and labor), and I always walk away happy.

The business and Mark moved to St. Peter (yessss!) and now I may never want to take my bikes to any other shop and my bike isn't even finished yet.
Fantastic.

Mark is the best. I love knowing that the owner is the one fixing my bike. Professional, knowledgeable, great customer service. The kind that you only get at an owner operated bike shop.

Amazing experience. I came in with a poor tubeless set up that was done by another shop. I was so eager to ride that I requested that Mike put the tubes back in until the summer was over. I came back a few hours later and he had fixed the poor job previously done at the other shop. I recommend this shop to anyone that's looking for an honest and experienced individual.

The Shop Owner is helping me build a Camping, Fishing and Hunting Platform.
Knowledge of Thousand Page Parts Catelogs is great. Prices are reasonable and I mostly get what I need more than what I ask for so I'm not buying the Farm when I only need a Goat. Top notch!

I took my bike if for an axle repair and was very pleased. I got a couple more things fixed as well, and was expecting to pay more than I did. Service was timely as well. Definitely going back.

They go the extra mile to get the right parts. Understood the scope of work I wanted on my older bike. Great prices.
