Reviews of The Hub Bike Co-op

Great place to get gear and parts. I come here frequently for used parts and they have a really good selection. The employees are very helpful as well; they are very knowledgeable and willing to help. I had someone give me detailed advice on which light to buy and pick out a used kickstand based on my bike, all in one visit. I do not have much experience with the mechanics, but there was one instance where a different shop claimed my shifters were broken and I briefly talked to a mechanic at The Hub about the problem, hoping to find a replacement shifter. Within 1 minute he saw that a nut for the shifter was incorrectly seated in the handlebars and got out a screwdriver to fix it right there. I have never dropped my bike off here to be worked on for a larger problem/tune up/etc, but I definitely will consider it for the future.
This is my go to spot for all things bike related!

This place is the best. Lots of great prices on used parts and really helpful mechanics who can help you find what you need.
Bought a combination of new and used bits and even ordered something they didn’t have in stock, and got some great advice for how to do the work myself.
Sarah Carsello
I have purchased many biking essentials from The Hub including my casual, ride around town bike and my Saris Bones bike rack. Every employee there takes the extra time to help answer questions (no question is a dumb question to them). I really appreciate their openness and non-judgemental approach to new-to-biking folks and really anyone. I recently attended their free Fix-a-Flat class and learned so much from both of the instructors. I truly cannot say enough good stuff about The Hub!!!

DIY workspace is a gem! $5/hr with lots of tools- truing stand, lubes etc. Can purchase needed service components from the service dep at the back of the store. Friendly helpful staff, would recommend.

Amazing feedback and information. This is the friendliest and least pretentious bike shop I think I've been to and will be my go-to from now on. The shop is welcoming and inclusive, tech advice is thorough and informative, repair work is stellar. Thanks especially to Henry who made a comprehensive inspection of my old bike and helped me make a plan for it.
Mark Brady
Fast service. Helpful staff didn’t try to sell me anything extra. Good price on tire and tube. Installed on the spot. Highly recommend.

Awesome bike co-op — they’ll help you figure out any bike needs you have, and at a great price.
I wanted to get a Marin Fairfax 1, a bargain of a hybrid bike, for commuting to work. But I waited (almost) too late into the season, and most of the stock was sold out, nationwide. Plus there were two other Hub clients seeking the exact same bike. D’oh!
Nonetheless, their buyer kept after it all through July-4th week, and finally determined that Marin had just *two* of those bikes left. She worked with me and the other two customers, and got us all bikes we were excited about.
I ended up with one of the Fairfax 1s, and it has been an ideal commuter bike. (See the Wirecutter review for hybrid bikes — it’s been their top pick for the past few years, and I can absolutely see why.)
I’m new to bike commuting, so I’ve been back to the Hub several times since to get gear, and their staff has helped me figure out the right picks for every need.
Knowledgeable, friendly, committed to helping you get a bike you love at a great bargain. The Hub and their staff are everything an awesome bike co-op should be.

I couldn't be happier with this shop and my new bike. The staff are really nice and knowledgeable. No pressure to spend out of your budget. Good listeners. They got me all set up with a test ride. I love that this is a worker owned business. I am excited to ride it as much as I can. I keep saying it practically rides itself. Service area staff took the time to go over the features of the bike. The Giant Liv Flourish is light weight and good looking. Thanks for your guidance and assistance. I'll be back for my tune-up soon.
Ramona White
Entered not knowing much about bikes, and left feeling very excited and confident that I made the best choice on my new ride! Ollo was awesome in explaining different types of styles, showing me different bike options, and helping me determine the best size — all while making sure I was comfortable inside my limited price range. Thanks a bunch!

Helpful and welcoming staff across the board. They do live up to their motto of "all types of bikes for all types of people." And they do more than simply sell, repair, and tune up. On my last purchase I got a helpful tutorial on how to maintain my new disc brakes.
Ethan Schaumburger
Went here for the first time last summer when I popped both of my bike tires, went again today for another popped bike tire. Both times courteous and efficient staff, I was in and out quickly no appointment needed!!!! Love this place!!!

Prompted by a less-than-happy small experience elsewhere, I thought to myself "Is there a local shop that really deserves *positive* feedback?" and the first place that came to mind was The Hub. That should tell you something, especially given that I visited the shop when it was just barely, barely open in the aftermath of the events of summer 2020. (They were by appointment only at that point, and their stock was very low. The shop is very close to the police station that burned.)
This is a great Minneapolis institution -- one that a huge range of people rely on for good advice and a solid bike purchase. The employees feel real ownership, and they respect you. They know their stuff, and they make recommendations that aren't all about squeezing the biggest possible purchase from the customer.
After my purchase, I've been back for a couple of complimentary service things that came with the two bicycles. Everything was done really carefully, by people who seemed to enjoy the problem solving in their jobs. It was a pleasure to ride home afterward.
The Hub gives you exactly the local bike shop experience that people idealize, for real. Support it! You'll feel good about the whole thing.

Even when this shop was a hole in the wall with file cabinets full of parts in the back of a DIY station it was littered with great mechanics, experienced cyclists and unflappable customer service professionals.
Since their renovation The Hub has been a stalwart of reliable servicing, grade A banter, new and used parts, bicycles and that intangible sense of community you can’t find at a store with nine different locations.
Kara M. Greshwalk
I've been going here for years. The people who work here care about bikes and cycling in general. They are attentive, friendly, and honest about repairs. They have never attempted to talk me into anything that seemed pricey or unnecessary. Also, during the busy season, rather than just putting my bike in the general queue for a simple repair and making me wait a month(yes, there are bike shops that will do this!), they moved it up to an 8-day turnaround, because they knew it wouldn't take long. They also sell awesome bikes at a wide range of affordability. Highly recommended!

When I called the Hub to get an idea of how long a bike service would take, I was treated with respect and given an honest and thorough estimate. I brought my bike in about half an hour later and Henry was able to complete the service promptly. He was very kind and explained what he was doing. He even gave me instructions for how to adjust the hitch he installed, should I need to. Very happy with the entire experience.
Jacob Cockram
I liked it. The bike is awesome. Great customer service. Only thing is, I'm a mechanic, not a bike expert. I'm a little embarrassed to say I don't know anything about the bike I just bought. I've never seen rims or valve stems like these before. I'd like to brag to my friends about this machine but Idk are the rims plastic or carbon fiber? Is the frame aluminum? I think so.
Jenna Nylund
Took over two hours just to get a tune-up assessment, and it would have taken longer if we didn’t budge in line to pick the bikes back up, something the other customers only let us do because we had a baby that was getting fussy from the wait. I know they’re busy back there, and I’m sure they’re short on mechanics, but they should probably find a more efficient process for helping out customers… maybe leverage some of the extra sales staff when they’re not busy. We’ve had both good and meh experiences like this in the past.
Arthur Ledesma
Took our 2 bikes in for service and they did a quick evaluation of both and told us they didn't warrant servicing. Instead of having us pay for an unneeded service appt, he made a couple quick gear adjustments, greased the chain and sent us on our way.
Joe L
Best shop in town for stocking what you need to keep your bike rolling.
Rebecca May
This place is great! Wow! I definitely recommend. The salesperson I worked with (Heri) was helpful and informative, and showed me a few options at a reasonable price that suited my needs really well. Enjoyed the one I took for a test ride, went back today to purchase it. One standout thing that impressed me was the no-pressure environment when I chose to sleep on it/look at a couple other places first. I really believe the people here just want to be helpful in getting people on a bike that works for them, wherever they choose to buy in the end! Just, wow 😗👌

I went to the Hub a few weeks ago to get my bike adjusted and get new pedals installed. Madilynn helped adjust my bike so that it fit better, ensuring that any adjustments worked for me. She also installed my new pedals, which have been working great! Madilynn was also incredibly knowledgable and patient in answering all my questions and made the process less intimidating. The Hub and its staff were also all taking social distancing and mask wearing rules seriously. I saw areas of the store wiped down frequently and the number of customers in the store at a given time was reduced to ensure social distancing could be practiced. I'll definitely return to the Hub in the future for my biking needs :)

I barely ever leave reviews but I felt I had to for this place. This is my second time bringing my bike here, a Raleigh 29er, And I am so happy and impressed with this shop
I use to bring my bike to Eric’s, but one day came here because Eric’s was closed, and I am so glad I did. This place is sooooo much better
There prices are very fair, they help me find the cheapest option on my tight budget, and they are SO QUICK. At eriks I always had to wait a minimum of a day for simple tire replacements. At the hub I’ve literally had my bike fixed in about 20 minutes both times, with no reservations
I always have a nagging problem with my chain where it comes undone over time. I’ve brought it into other shops where they’ve fixed it at a price, I didn’t even mention the problem to The Hub today because I’m on such a tight budget, but when I came back to pick up my bike after getting my tired replaced, they let me know they fixed my chain- on their own without being asked, that meant a lot!
This is definitely my new bike shop that I will continue to go to and I will recommend to my friends!

This review is based on a one time stop. Our son used this bike shop for several years when he lived in Minneapolis. He really liked it. That was one of the reasons we stopped at the shop. I needed to look at new bikes. They have one of the largest selections of bikes and bike equipment that we have seen in one shop. The young lady who helped us was very nice and knowledgeable. If you needed a bike or equipment I say👍 to stopping by and having a look.
Kathleen Fetterly
THE HUB! Let's talk about a community of wonderful folks working hard. I was in yesterday with my father to pick up a web order of new slicks for an old schwinn. The nice lady hadn't even taken off her coat when she arrived to work, and jumped right in to help us with our special order pickup.
When consulting about bike locks. the practicality was there for price and intended use. I asked about saddles and we searched through the plentiful selection for a nice WSD to toss on my new fatbike. I felt like even though I was tossing a million questions, everything I wanted to know was answered.
I really love buying accessories at The Hub! They have a tremendous selection of used parts and take offs for the mechanic. This is what we need in the world. I am so glad there's a shop like this in south Minneapolis.
Every time I need something, I can always find it at The Hub.
Right now, early April 2021, they're suffering a bike shortage. It's a real sign of what's happening in our world. in a microcosm of the inventory on two wheels. The good news is, there are USED BIKES offered and they're tuned up. This is so good! I like dropping in to see what's there for around $400. You know you're getting a safe bike, that's important.
You also get truly wonderful service from experienced riders, real folks who are down-to-earth. You can't go wrong at The Hub. I hope to buy a bike from them someday when the opportunity is right.
For now, while bikes are slim in stock, you can get plentiful accessories. Expect to be treated graciously with a touch of hospitality - there's usually a water jug available to fill up your water bottles in the summer, and you can lock your bike in the entry way. Out front there are bike racks with adorable knitting that keep your frame from scratches. Gotta LOVE THE HUB.

I bought a brand new Marin Four Corners at The Hub this week. From start to finish, this shopping experience was awesome. I brought my old bike in to the Used Bike Exchange, it was fairly appraised and they took care of the selling. I went to the shop on the West Bank and Minnehaha and at both locations, the employees were interested in selling me the best bike for me- not the most expensive one. I highly recommend.
Michelle Dobbratz
Great shop with impressive customer service! I arrived twenty minutes to close, and the staff went out of their way to assure me that I was welcome. Despite the time crunch, they found several bikes for me to try out that met my specifications, and even offered to equip them with lights so I could test ride them outside. After trying out and falling in love with the last bike, they took time to make sure I had all the accessories and parts I needed, without being pushy, and even found a 50 cent part that made my life a lot easier! There are a lot of great bike shops in town, but I can't think of anywhere else that feels like as much of a community as The Hub. Both locations have, in my experience, exclusively helpful, genuine, friendly, and unpretentious staff. The Minnehaha location should be the first stop for anyone looking for a decent bike on a budget. Also, their salvage section is not huge but it is the most organized I've seen.

Love this place!!! Nothing but good experiences! John was very helpful in purchasing a new bike and getting us set up with accessories!! They have always been extremely helpful and kind! Love!

Great bike shopping experience during COVID-19. I called to schedule an appointment to see some bikes in the store and was given some options for bikes that fit my needs and price range. The first bike I was shown by staff was perfect for what I wanted and rides so smoothly. I was able to pick up the bike the next day and have been very pleased. Thank you to the staff at Hub Co-op who not only offered great advise, but also maintained social distancing practices within the store set up that felt safe. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone else looking to purchase a new bike.

Happy happy customer :)
Bike ppl are the best ppl!

There are inadequate words to articulate the quality service that I received when I went to the Hub to get a bike. I didn't know anything about bikes, and had been riding an old Schwinn that was never fitted to me properly, so I didn't really know what I wanted when I went in to the store. I mostly worked with Madilynn, who provided care, attention to detail, a passion and IMMENSE knowledge and understanding of bikes, but most importantly, a commitment to me, the customer. At every point on my journey to find a bike - and I was at the store many, many times - she provided support and went above and beyond to ensure that the bike I ended up with was the right one for me, including even e-mailing updates on different bikes. There was never pressure, or irritation that I was a total bike newbie - she was only so patient and understanding and listened to what I needed to help find the best bike for me, and on top of that had a great personality that made trying bikes and learning about the options FUN! Thanks to Madilynn, I'm now the proud owner of the perfect new bike, that was in my price range, meets all my needs, fits me super well, and all-around PUMPED TO BE OUT BIKING!
All of the Hub staff are committed to their customers, and the store definitely seems to care more about folks getting out on a bike that's right for them than pushing a product or making a sale - and that type of quality shows in the way they curate their bikes to the individual. I would 100/10 recommend ANYONE who is looking not only to purchase a bike, but even to go learn more about their bike, or do a tune-up or upgrade to check out the Hub - even if you're not sure, there will be NO pressure and they can answer any question you might have. Can't say it enough - Great store, great people, great bikes, great times!

Hands down the best bike shop in the Twin Cities. I always get what I need in terms of parts or repairs, and the staff are super helpful and willing to share their knowledge and explain what's going on.

Felt very comfortable and well cared for as a person who is not knowledgeable about bikes and repair
I will be back

Albert was truly the best! He guided us to the exact right bike for my partner; and he couldn't be more pleased! Albert was with us every step of the way in the bike purchasing process and gave us honest feedback. The Hub also has a wonderfully vast selection of inventory to choose from. An excellent experience.

This place is great. Everything. Prices are from one end of the spectrum to the other. Quality is assured, as they have a very generous return policy on bikes. 15 days I think. Need a quick repair? Stop in, you may have a short wait, but have no worry of being gouged. Accessories are many and are priced competitively versus Amazon. Buy local.

I just purchased my first new bike in over a decade from the Hub. After doing a lot of research, I had my selection narrowed down to a couple of options. They built up bikes for me to try out and one employee spent over an hour working with me to adjust and test-ride bikes as well as select all of my accessories. I never felt like they were trying to "upsell" me as some recommendations were for higher ticket items while some pointed out when a budget product was just as good of quality. They special ordered a pannier for me because I had a very specific bag in mind and it arrived quickly. You get 15% off on accessories when you buy a new bike and they will install everything you purchase for free. They also carrier adult female frames in 43 cm in some brands (Felt!) which is what I needed as a petite woman. They even gave me a quick run through on easier ways to mount/dismount my new frame which was a nice bonus. Highly recommended location.
Mark Scripter
I absolutely love this place! I've bought bikes here, had them tuned and fixed here, and thoroughly enjoy their service.
I ordered a tire from them and they not only fufilled it the next day but also delivered it the next day. They didn't ship it but biked over and delivered it in person to help maintain the quality of the tire.
Absolutely amazing customer service and trustworthy!
Graham Leathers
I have been using the DIY facilities here for years. I also teach classes in basic bicycle maintenance for Community Education and I always recommend my students come in here to do their own bike work. Their shop facilities are very well equipped and their staff are always helpful and courteous. Even with the ancient bike I have, they've always been able to get parts whether I'm changing out a broken axel or replacing bearings in the steering column. They have never let me down. They have a great selection of accessories unmatched by any other shop I have visited. I remain a loyal customer.
Jennifer Dooper
Love this place! Always very reasonably priced and honest. As a female I appreciate that they have never been dismissive or condescending to me when I have questions. Highly recommend!
Andy Priest
Best bike shop in Minneapolis... NO - Minnesota - NO! the US!!! I have lived all over & had many bike shop experiences from bad to good. The Hub by far has the friendliest, most knowledgable staff I have every encountered!
I have an older wheel where a spoke nut had broken off inside the rim. An unmentioned bike shop told me wheel was done and I needed to buy a new one. I brought the wheel into the Hub and Toast (the MAN!) not only was able to fix the wheel, but was somehow magically able to remove the busted screw from inside the rim - awesome!! All for a reasonable price in very short amount of time with amazing customer service.
Cannot say enough good things about this shop - thanxs!!
Tiffany Cannon
This place is great! Everyone was extremely friendly. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured. Nick helped me today. He was patient, kind, and super knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking out this place if you need a bike!

I had a fantastic experience at The Hub this morning. I had started my ride to work on a bike I hadn’t ridden for several months. I noticed the seat was a little low and stopped to adjust it. That’s when I found that the seat post clamp was cracked in a way that made it unusable. I managed to ride another half mile to the hub, arriving right around eight o’clock. Though they don’t open until ten, there was an employee meeting going on. They let me in, and one gentleman stepped away from the meeting to measure my seat post, and quickly swap in a replacement clamp. He simply took my name and phone number to pay later by phone. This employee went above and beyond to help me get to work safely long before the store was even due to open. Thank you!
Agne Vilkaitis
Had a great experience here. Jenny was the one who helped us select best bikes for what we were looking for. I appreciated her friendly and genuine demeanor to helping us.
Miko H.
Fantastic cycling shop where the folks actually know their bikes! Just bought a mountain bike at The Hub and was very impressed with the hands on help I received regarding bike fit for height, weight, suspension, etc. The folks there were also very friendly. The shop itself was very cool. They hold instructional classes and organize a variety of inclusive rides for road and mountain biking. I highly recommend this place!

Hands down, the Hub is the best bike shop in the Twin Cities 👏 Each and every person working there is always willing to help and super friendly. Even if you're not a hardcore biker, they listen to your needs and recommend what they feel is the best route. Honest, friendly, and knowledgeable is just the tip of the iceberg with the Hub. I love living close to the Minnehaha location, makes my life so much easier. Love the HUB! 😘
Mike Helmen
Always plenty of knowledgeable staff there to help you with questions. They do a great job finding out what you need instead of just trying to sell you something. When I just started using a bike to commute to work, one of the staff went through and explained some of the differences and personal experiences in racks and bags to help me pick one that fit my needs and price range. I've also found some good deals in the used parts corner.
Karen Bencke
I've been bringing my bike here for several years. There's almost always a wait in the service area, but I don't mind because the staff know their stuff. This trip I had a rusty chain and frozen brakes assessed. Both were fixed in 15 minutes. My bike was test-driven by one staff and double-checked by a second staff, so I'm confident in the work done.
Leya Kritz
The staff was very knowledgeable & able to answer any questions about safety, the necessities to buy right away (types of bike locks, lights, etc.), fitting on the bike & about all the features on the specific bike I bought. Knowing that I can bring my bike back & receive quality service every time is something I look forward to. Thanks for everything!
Ben Klaas
I test rode about a half dozen bikes over three different visits across more than a month. David helped me each time I was in. He was super easy to work with and did not apply any sales pressure, which would have sent me running (and not biking) out the door. I had my sights on a couple bikes that weren't in stock, and to their credit they got both of them in for me to try.
Chris Huff deserves some special recognition for both procuring the hard-to-get Marin Lombard Elite that turned out to be the one I got, but also being superb with staying in contact with me by email during the process.
Also kudos to Toast for building up the special order bikes in short order to get me on the road. And for having an awesome nickname.
Danielle Jimenez
I went to multiple bike shops in the twin cities to figure out how to improve this insanely annoying sound that happened anytime I pedaled. My bike is vintage and not standard anymore, after searching high and low I finally found David to help me, they were very skilled, knowledgeable and a god amongst men.
Bradley Wonder
We bought our bikes at REI, but since then we've bought accessories and had repairs done at The Hub. They're always really nice and helpful. We rode our bikes through two winters and then left them in the garage for two years. I thought we'd need the most expensive tune up, but they looked the bikes over and talked me out of it. Super helpful.
Sean Conley
These folks are such a great asset to our city. Twice I've gone to them with emergency situations and they hooked me up immediately.
Once I was on a ride with a group and I blew a tube about 5 blocks from their shop. Even though they had a line of people, the took me in right away and had me out of that shop in 10 minutes.
The second time I also blew a tube on a brand new pet carrier that I was assembling (obviously I have a problem with over-inflating!) Every review I read online about this carrier warned against blowing tubes because they were a special size and it took forever for the manufacturer to replace. I couldn't believe that the Hub actually had them in stock and within 30 minutes I was finishing up the assembly.
They're super friendly and knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. They also have an amazing selection of bikes in their Lake St store (the only one I've ever visited). I keep hoping my bike gets stolen so I have a reason to buy a new one!
Darien Washington
The staff are friendly and knowledgable, which are two of my favorite things, EVER. They went out of their way to make sure my bike was up to snuff before I left and weren't pushy when they made a pitch for an item for my bike.
Another thing I adore about this shop and its staff is that they speak WITH you and not AT you. They make you feel comfortable regardless of level of rider you are. I'll defintely be bring Louisa (my bike) back this summer for tune-ups.
Andrew Balfour
This place defines what a bike shop should always include. The staff is friendly and know everything about bikes. Their bike selection focuses on a few manufacturers, but they have a wide range of models by those manufacturers. They have bike accessories in all areas, but only a few products in each. The products they do carry are usually the best quality to cost in that area. And their service department can do anything you need with your bike for a decent price, as long as you don't need it yesterday.
Rob Liebhart
Incredibly friendly service for ZAP bike tags, as well as for items that they sell in-store! They know their products very well, and the team makes an effort to get to know customers. The staff were also very helpful with a purchase I needed to refund as well.
Mike Jones
The service here has always been topnotch. Whenever I come here I end up staying for an hour just browsing through their inventory of bikes and used parts. The prices are a little higher here, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff since the business is employee owned and a co-op.
Adam Levy
I've been going to the Hub Co-op for the better part of ten years and it's gotten better and better. The store now is now bigger and even more well stocked. The bikes, new and old, are vast and and the staff knows about all of them. I asked today about commuter bags and there were several on hand to look at and compare.
Amanda Fugleberg
My experience was great! I haven't biked since middle school and was just looking to buy something simple and moderately priced. The staff (at the Cedar and Minnehaha locations) were super knowledgeable and friendly and helped me to find the perfect one! Couldn't be happier!
Rick Bosacker
Though not perfect, The Hub is one of my favorite bike shops. The staff are somewhat inconsistent and it seems to lack some discipline in their organizational structure but that might just be the nature of a co-op? Chris Huff was a big help getting my Xtracycle set up and the mechanic I worked with helped me find the best option for my needs and my budget. He even helped me figure out a 75 cent option when he could have sold me a lot more (sorry I missed your name)!
Matt @ GEEK with a personality
Never been to the Hub Bike Co-op before, but am very glad I stopped by. I needed a knobby rear tire for my mountain bike. Then, for my first time ever, I proceeded to attempt to install the new tire in their DIY room. I had lots of questions and the staff answered them all and were very helpful. And to top it off, the guy at the front showed me a great website to find trails on. How cool is that! Needless to say, I had an awesome day at Theo Wirth Park thanks to the Hub!
Heather Spinar
friendly, get the job done, though hours/timing can be an issue. I've been getting my biking gear and service here for a year or so now and love it. I dont however love their schedule/timing. cant schedule a tune up, have to bring it in, schedule a tune up for some other time , it can be a pain. but otherwise they're great!
Erik
Friendly staff who will do their best to help figure out a bike for you at pretty much any price point.
Cody Bryan
This store is my favorite. They have a pretty vast inventory of new/used bikes, new/used parts, bags, and pretty much anything you may need. Everything is at a reasonable price as well. The availability of merchandise and good price is an easy win for anyone however. The way this store really wins over others is their staff's friendly attitude and intuitive approach to helping you. I have been in this store 8-10 times and in each instance I have learned something new or gotten excellent service. That's what it's all about.
They have a DIY room (as you can see from pretty much everyone's testimonials) that they only charge $5 an hour to use. The room has a bike stand that makes repairs much easier. Additionally, they have nearly every specialized tool you could imagine.
Don't buy that $100 bottom bracket puller. Bring your bike into the shop and do it yourself. You'll learn a bit and have the satisfaction of doing it on your own accord and saving yourself a fist full of cash as well.
One on One is a great shop, but if you are trying to repair your bike by yourself on the spot and/or save a few bucks go with the Hub.
AJoy fullnoise
Great experience! Sold a bike and got a fair trade in value. Good prices on the bikes for sale too. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Cory R
Great service experience, I had my tires replaced last Fall and one of the tubes developed an air bubble near the valve stem (badly manufactured). They replaced it at no cost on the spot and I had my bike back in action. I would recommend the Hub.
Torleiv Flatebo
Good service and consistently good people helping you out. Great used parts and bikes in the back. Almost always has what I need in stock, and if they don't can order and get it in a few days.
Jenna Herschberger
If you are in the market for a bike, look no further than the Hub. They have a wide selection of bikes from used to new that can accommodate most budgets. Where the Hub really sets itself apart from other bike shops is the customer service. It's truly as they're motto state: "for all types of people". Go to the Hub and let them help take the guesswork out of buying a bike.
Jaime Hokanson
The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and I've always gotten a quick turnaround on service. In my experience very friendly to queer and trans folks too! A great shop.
Nick Bromann
Brought in a new mountain bike with a bunch of questions, and they were so helpful and patient with me, I was blown away. One of their guys took almost half an hour out of his day to explain in detail how to properly set up my suspension. 5/5, so knowledgeable and nice.

If you need anything that goes cycling, here is your place. If you have a problem they never encountered before (like a basket that bothers your heels when you cycle), they will not add some fancy piece coming for 20 dollars. they will CREATE this new piece (no joke, I have seen them cutting it), and it will come for 2 dollars. Because the challenge for them when I arrived in their shop the other day wasn't "how to sell or what to sell" but "how to get this bike rolling smoothly". You can count on their help, and if you want to rely on your own help, then, you can use their tools and their opinions.
By every account, a great shop, because of the content and because of the team owning the workshop and giving it a soul.

I love this shop, and am glad it’s up and running again. I’ve gone to other shops for equipment and nothing every really fit. But these guys know their stuff they tell me it gonna for my bike I know it will, they know their stuff.
PJS
I've been going here for their used parts room. They have a good variety of bikes as well. The staff in service area have always been super nice and knowledgeable. Five stars!

The Hub is as good as it gets!

Thanks Tom and the whole staff +++++

Everyone was wonderful at the Minnehaha location. I highly recommend them. I know virtually nothing about bikes and they explained things to me in a way that wasn't belittling or snide, and they truly seemed like they were just happy to get another fellow person into biking. I'll most definitely go back.
Jim Cashman
I brought my old mountain bike into the Hub on Minnehaha Ave and they were very helpful. A tech named Toast found used parts for me and fixed me up right away. They were great! I highly recommend them!
Beth S Hilliard
Friendly and helpful staff. Just purchased my second bike here and I've never once been disappointed by their service.
Forest Eidbo
Good enough selection of used parts and fair prices. Very helpful and friendly staff, I had a great experience with one of the repairwomen helping me select the right crankset and chain ring. Will definitely come back.
Kevin Bruns
Best bike shop I've ever been to. The staff is genuinely passionate about biking, and the mechanics have pride in their work. I've never trusted any bike shop as much as I trust the hub.
Joshua Draves-Kellerman
Currently in the process of getting a bike, so far Brian has been very helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough in helping me find something that suits me.
Rhett Neuman
Awesome crew, very patient with this novice. Chris was great to work with and he took care of all my needs and did a fantastic job explaining things. Looking forward to riding my new bike.
Zee Shimon
Over the years I've spent a lot of money with the hub bike.
But on this trip I'm extremely disappointed. My bike has been in the shop for over a week and when it comes out, I ended up spending $120 and it still wasn't fixed. That's my experience, do what you will with this information.
William Heinen
Dude sold me a righteous bike. I think his name is Jonathan. Knowledgeable, quality, and affordable service in the best city for biking (weather permitting). Thank you
Dave Giefer
Best bike repair shop period. Honest mechanics that know their stuff. Went out of their way fix my bike, when they discovered that a replacement part wasn't available they convinced the manufacturer to replace the entire $200 shifter for free!
Charles Steffel
I had an invigorating 28 mph trial ride on new Townie with a Bosch pedal assist/set speed controller and Shimano hub at the Open-streets Minneapolis Franklin Event. Try out convinced me to get an ebike when I can pay. I will not use an add on motor kit..
Jon Mendelson
Out of town from New York. I needed used part for my bike. In NY the shops wanted to charge me $12.00. The staff were so cool and helpful. Paid $1.00.
I will mail order all my stuff from them!!!

Stellar worker-owners and mechanics. This shop has helped me in every sense of the phrase, morale is always high, and I scored a sweeet new (used) Surly Straggler this winter. The used parts and DIY shop are clutch and worth pursuing. Cheers folx!
Shane Peckham
The Hub rules! I was in a cross country move and I absolutely panicked when I couldn't find room for my bike. This bike is the only pedal powered vehicle I feel safe in, I know it like you know your mothers cooking. I looked everywhere in the twin cities for a mountable bike rack, all was sold out. Cinski helped me out! He hooked me up with the display model and a very happy, inviting, and trustworthy tone. Even offered to guide me through installation but it wasn't required.
Without Cinski, I would of had to get a new bike. He's great at recommending stuff that fits your new climate, too! 10/10, helpful, respectful, and actually cares about the customer. Literally saved my butt on a cross country move. I can ride the bike I love through the desert!
William Maddrey
The staff were very helpful getting me a rack for my bike, and a good pair of panniers. Great if you commute, can hook you up with the right clothes and equipment.
