Reviews of Maple Grove Cycling
I had a wonderful experience at Maple Grove Cycling shop! Everyone was so helpful and kind. I even got talked into buying a bill for my bike and so glad I purchased it. I am going to look sassy on the bike trails.
Came in less then one week from a fat bike race with an emergency repair. Sam absolutely went out of his way to make sure I would be ready come race day. Thank you Sam! week from a fat bike race with an emergency repair. Sam absolutely went out of his way to make sure I would be ready. Come race day. Love this location place and I am very grateful for Sam’s help on Saturday! Thank you, Sam!
Absolutely can't say enough about this shop and the service I received. I brought in a half completed bike and they were incredibly fair for the price to finish it. My rear wheel was shot and Doug went above and beyond to get me back on the bike ASAP. Very happy I found my go-to shop moving forward.
I've always had a good experience shopping and getting service at Maple Grove Cycling. The staff are friendly and helpful. Their expertise is valued and freely share their advice. This is one of the best local bike shops in the Twin Cities.
The bike I had ordered was delayed multiple months, but I was able to work with the team at Maple Grove Cycle to get a bike that was comparable, as well as very fitting accessories. Able to make the best out of a modern day issue of shipping delays made the experience much better, due to the expert staff knowledge and customer service and care.
It was a pleasure buying 2 new bikes from these guys! They treated us like people while selling us bikes, not just a sales goal. Had a seperate mechanical issue with each bike the first summer of owning. No questions asked, they fixed them, at no cost. My children will get new bikes from MCC when the time comes!
Totally blown away by the service at Maple Grove Cycling. They addressed my problem immediately and got me back on the trials as fast as possible. I recommend everyone swing in and experience their top not service and products. I'll definetly be back!
The team at Maple Grove cycling is very professional, friendly, and informative. Always willing to help customers make the right decisions for their type of cycling needs.
I talked with Doug who was very informative regarding what my bike needs & why. Prices were good & I can't wait to start riding.
Best crew anywhere. Answers all your questions, gives great advice and service. Can't beat the winter tune up. Get your new ride here!
Everyone in the shop was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. But I want to especially call out Sam. He was not only super friendly and polite, he listened carefully to our needs and jumped right on our requested service. Everything was done timely, efficiently and with a warm smile. We purchased our bikes from Maple Grove Cycling and will be back for all of our service. We will also be back when we're ready to purchase electric bikes.Thank you for your outstanding service and products!!! And be sure to tell Sam how much we appreciated his work :-)
Reliable, trustworthy, knowledgeable. Representatives are attentive, explain things clearly, and provide options. Service was faster than expected and results high quality. I highly recommend for quality gear, bike repairs/service, and sound bike advice.
Bought a bike from here two months ago. Steve was super helpful with helping me pick out a bike and everything I needed to consider with buying one. Couldn't be happier with what I bought. Outstanding customer service, will be coming back for my future cycling needs
Nate helped me find the bike I purchased. He was very knowledgeable on the different bikes and didn’t try to oversell me. He made adjustments, helped discuss options and was a major reason I ended up purchasing the bike. 10/10 I would recommend purchasing a bike from Maple Grove Cycling.
If you want to bike worry free and have what you need for any biking trip, you have to visit the staff at Maple Grove Cycling, they are the best!!
The sales and service experience when I bought my bike was top notch. They have a lot of bikes in stock. I drove 1.5 hours in because they were the only dealer that had the Trek bike I was looking for. When the color I preferred was in stock but not built and on the sales floor, they immediately asked a service tech if they could build one. They did and I was on my way! I would highly recommend this shop. I’ll be back again for my next bike purchase!
I have always had my road bike serviced at MG Cycling and they have always done a great job. Recently I had some maintenance done and when I put my bike on my smart trainer, I was experiencing some skipping of the chain through the derailleur. I stopped in and talked to Mark who explained the slight position difference I might be experiencing between my trainer cassette and the one on my back wheel (even though they were identical cassettes). He suggested bringing both my bike and trainer in for them to look at. A bit later that day, I stopped in and Sam came right out to help me. Sam showed me the alignment issue I was experiencing, corrected it, and gave me instructions for how to tweak my derailleur should I have issues when moving back and forth from trainer to wheel. I can't even describe the difference this made for my riding on my trainer. Both Sam and Mark went above and beyond to help me with my bike and trainer. They are my most recent example of the knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous technician and sales staff at Maple Grove Cycling. Thank you SO much!!
Maple Grove Cycling is the best place to buy a bike if you live around the twin cities. The staff was incredibly helpful in helping me choose the perfect bike. It’s also the perfect place to buy a bike if you’re tall and most places don’t have anything for you. I’m 6’6” and finding a bike is very difficult but maple grove cycling had multiple options for me. Doug and Jim took the time to make sure I picked the perfect bike. I would recommend them to anyone planning to buy a bike.
You have a great brand and a wide variety of accessories, but your greatest value lies in the extremely professional, knowledgeable and engaging staff. Sam did the tune up on my Stache 7 and also helped me reset my front fork settings and took the extra time to make sure it was custom tuned to my physical size and abilities. As long as Maple Grove Cycling is in business, I will be a customer!
The staff is amazing! So helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I feel very confident in my choice of bike, and I am excited to ride again after many years without one!
The owner Dan Book was great to work with, took his time explaining everything I asked. I also had the pleasure of working with Nate who was just as good to work with.
Thanks again and see you soon, Jack
Kurt was great and super helpful. To be honest, I went to 3 different Bike Shops and they were all fantastic. The reason why I purchased from Maple Grove Cycling was because they had the kind of bike I wanted and the others didn't. I really do like the fact that they will provide a free tune up each year for the life of the bike while under my ownership.
I have been purchasing and repairing my bikes at Maple Grove Cycling for over 20 years. They are helpful and friendly. I can trust their recommendations and service which they stand behind. I would highly recommend Maple Grove Cycling to anyone who is looking for a bike or needs service for their bike.
As someone new to both the area, and bicycling, I can’t rave enough about Maple Grove Cycling! They have been incredibly helpful and patient with our newbie questions, while offering great advice and support. When we needed a repair, Mark went super above and beyond to make sure we (and my bike) were happy - not judging too harshly on my choice of a Specialized and not a Trek. Lol. We’ll definitely be customers for a long time to come. Thanks guys!
The customer service was amazing. They were quick to help, Quick to repair/tune up and very reasonable priced. They also give valuations which is great for resale. I took in three bikes including a vintage Vista Cruiser and hardly recognized them after they were cleaned up and ready for the road. Now to get ahold of my mothers old bike and see what they can do with that one!
I went into the shop a couple of months ago. I'm only sorry that I am just now getting to writing the review. The people who work here are so nice and extremely helpful even though I didn't buy anything. Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the gentleman who helped me but both of them were very kind and helpful. We discovered that my second hand bike had a issue with the frame and the other fellow offered to help with securing my odometer to the frame. I can't recommend these people enough they are very nice and very very helpful! You would do yourself a big favor by going here for any of your cycling needs.
Last Tuesday evening, June 15, stopped to have a blown tire on my ancient 1970's vintage Viscount bicycle repaired. A tall young man(22-28?) with lots of dark hair and cool glasses helped us. I didn't find out his name, but I wish I would have. He delivered such thorough and timely service, that my husband and I remarked on it all the way home. We have expected good service at MG cycling in past years, but this young bike expert went above and beyond. Thanks so much. Kathleen & Vern Mathis (very satisfied customers)
Walked in and was immediately greeted and techs repaired 2 bikes of mine. Great customers service and everyone was friendly. The bikes were repaired while I waited and I was in and out in less than an hour. Repairs were affordable as well. I highly recommend coming here for repairs and shopping.
The staff here are AMAZING and so knowledgeable! They help with every step of the process and make you feel confident about your purchase!
The staff is VERY helpful and knowledgeable. I walked in looking to buy my first mountain bike, and they walked me through all the technical specs of the bike, gave me a few tips, and helped me choose which accessories would be best to get me started. HIGHlY recommend, great service and great products!
Outstanding customer service, communication, and interaction. Brought my bike in for a tune up, was told about 3 days to complete, and even with replacing my bottom bracket, cables, and front derailer, they were done in ONE DAY.
Highly recommended.
What a difference in going from Erik's to here. Everyone was so helpful and just a joy to be around. Went in and immediately had help finding exactly what I needed. This will be my permanent cycle shop.
Edit 7/23/21 - went to see JC to have a bike fit session. One of the best experiences I've had. He was super knowledgeable and helpful and took the time to make sure we got everything right. I would not just highly recommend him, but will probably starting marketing the guy now to anyone I know, even if they don't own a bike... Okay maybe not quite, but it was great. Thank you!
Maple Grove cycling is the best place to shop for new bikes and accessories! The staff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. This is the 4th bike (1 adult and 3 different kid bikes) we have bought from them and they have always hands wide selection of in stock bikes! Definitely recommend checking them out.
I took my 25 year old mountain bike into Maple Grove Cycling for some minor repairs. They took the time to find the parts (not an easy thing with the current parts shortage and my bike being so old), and had my bike all fixed up in a couple days. They did great work for a lower fee than I expected, and they are super easy to work with. Definitely recommend Maple Grove Cycling!
We actually found a bike that fit my wife during this crazy shortage of bikes and parts. We like that we can test drive the bike before buying, and that we get free tuneups for life with the bike. Great store. Great people
I was mostly impressed with how much the people at Maple Grove Cycling cared about my bike. I had a fairly complicated repair that required me to interact with my bike manufacturer. Mike & Doug helped me through it all, saved my spot in the repair line and when I had everything I needed to fix my bike they immediately got to it. I've visited a few other local cycling shops and did not have a similar experience. Maple Grove Cycling was superior in service and cost. Thank you so much!
Bad experience turned around!!!! My wife and I purchased 2 new trek bikes from Jeff at Maple Grove Cycle. They had mine in stock but they had to order her’s. I was told it would take 2-3 days for it to come from Wisconsin. Long story short, after talking to 3 different people over the next two weeks I finally received the bike. When I picked up the bike, Gus the store manager helped me and I mentioned my experience. He apologized for the experience and offered to make it up to me. He gave me a works tune up on my old bike ($129 value) and gave me a discount on a new rim I needed for my old bike. When I brought my old bike in, Doug walked me through what they would do for the works tune up and any additional repairs needed. I would definitely recommend them. Plus, the new bikes come with annual tune ups for the life of the bike .
Stopped by on a very busy day to have them look at the gears on my bike. They took my bike right in and said they would look at it. If it was a quick fix they would fix it. If not I would have to leave it. They adjusted the gears and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Great Service!
You get such a different level of service and care when going to a local bike shop versus a big box store. The staff (sales or service) have a passion for biking and want to spread to the community. This is definitely something you don’t get from a big store. And from what I’ve experienced, the passion level that Maple Grove Cycling shares exceeds other local bike shops. Unlike other enthusiasts, I can’t afford to spend thousands on a bike or gear and what I spend has no bearing on how I am treated. MGC has become and will stay my #1 bike shop.
Staff was very welcoming. Great selection of bikes and employees were very knowledgeable. Can't go wrong with this place.
I have never had a bad experience at Maple Grove Cycling, with my most recent service that ended up taking less than a week when I was being told upwards of 12 weeks by other shops I will never go to another bike shop. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable
I'm completely new to the world of biking, so it was a huge relief when I came into the shop to buy my first Trek and the folks at MGC actually took the time to explain things to me -- why one bike is different from another, how to fit yourself for a bike, which accessories are "needs" vs. "wants", etc. I learned a lot and really appreciated their level of expertise. On top of it all, they taught me how to load my bike into my car (I don't have a bike rack). Fantastic service all around, and lots of good-quality products to choose from. I will definitely be coming here for my future biking needs.
I purchased a bike several years ago from them and had a good experience. Now I was in the the market again to upgrade my old fx7.3 a that I decided should become a back up ride from now on. I wanted a similar but newer version of what I had but Due to COVID delays my options were very limited my sales rep Amy did an excellent job explaining to me the difference types of bikes and options. Several times she helped me narrow down my needs and wants with what would be available as soon as possible. We came up with the Fx5 carbon and to be honest it was way more than what I was expecting to spend but after riding riding this BA bike for several weeks now I am beyond pleased. Everything from my times, speed and endurance are night and day compared to my old Trek. I have turned into a true fanatic of Trek, Maple Grove Cycle and of Amy’s professionalism. I will forever be a loyal maple grove Cycling customer from now on. Thank you!!!!
Awesome service both on the sales and service individuals we worked with. They were honest and I'm happy we were able to buy one bike for my daughter, but I had to go to another place for mine simply because of the size I needed wasn't available.
Brought my kids bikes in for some service. The crew was friendly and very helpful. Quick turn around on the work. Looking at some new equipment for next year as well. Highly recommended!
Excellent service and help at Maple Grove Cycle!! They aren’t trying to sell you parts you don’t need—on two different occasions I have brought my bike in with trip computer problems, and they solved the issue on the spot with no charge! I wish there were more businesses like this!
We had our bikes in for the their annual service recently. They did a great job and now we are ready for the snow to melt. They even did research for some a replacement part for our bike rack. Very friendly from talking on the phone to in person helping with questions. We will be back in March to shop for our daughters big girl bike.
I had the pleasure of being serviced by Doug and Mike. I needed some basic tire repairs. They approach the job as if it was a $3,000 service job. Thorough, patient, respectful and very informative. Above all, they were sincere and honest. Treated me as if I was a relative. Very impressive!
Absolutely amazing!!! We’ve been frequent customers of this shop for 4yrs now since we moved to Maple Grove for both our road bikes and mountain bikes. What started out as just convenience now has become necessity! We go out of our way wherever we are to buy and have things fixed here! Twice now we’ve popped tires or had things break in the middle of a ride and they’ve helped us on the spot and gotten us back out riding within 30mins!
Can not say enough great things about this place and the employees!!
Visited several bike shops which were all good but found the exact bike I was looking for at Maple Grove Cycling. I was helped by Dan the owner. He suggested the right e-bike for me. After a test ride and thinking it over I returned the next day to purchase along with some accessories. Very happy with the selected bike and the good service. If you are shopping around make sure you visit Maple Grove Cycling.
The mechanics are top notch! Very friendly staff, knowledgeable on current products, with a quick service turnaround. I do, and have taken all my bikes to them over the years, with nothing but good experiences.
Great customer service. Really enjoyed the consultation on what to fix and the options for my bike. Very friendly. Would do bike repair business with them again and look to them for a new bike.
We walked in to the shop and had no clue what to look for. Dan was patient and extremely helpful. He listened to us and helped us identify the bikes that would work best for us in our situation - and didn't try to sell us bikes that we didn't need.
Can't say enough about the service department at Maple Grove Cycling. I had a chirping sound in my rear wheel and brought it in. Their service manager Doug worked tirelessly on diagnosing the problem. Checked the brakes, repacked bearings, checked spokes, etc. Eliminated everything and decided it was just a bad wheel. Negotiated with Trek directly and convinced them to replace it at no cost. Now that's service. Thanks Doug!
This place is way better than eriks bike shop people at eriks bike shop don't know what their talking about and they don't have good selection but a this place they are very nice they know what they are talking about and they have good selection
Been a customer of this shop for years, and they have NEVER let me down! Had an issue with my brake rotor today, and called in to inquire about a fix in the afternoon. I spoke with Doug who told me he could squeeze me into the schedule next morning if I dropped off my bike before they closed, which would have been more than reasonable. But when I told Doug I had plans to ride that day, he told me to bring it in right away and he'd see if he could get me squared away. Because of Doug, I was able to meet up with my buddy as planned. After so much outstanding customer service from this place over the years, and Doug today going above and beyond to help me out, I felt it was time I gave this place the high praise they time and time again show me they deserve. Thank you so much!!!
No matter if your bike is new or old, Trek or not, everybody on staff is so deeply experienced that they have the skills and knowledge to take care of you. It is also evident that they truly care about your needs and enjoy helping you out, 10/10 shop & staff.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. They are sincerely interested in helping solve your problems and steer you in the right direction as far as BIKES gear and maintenance. They ask the right questions and they give The right answers. Very pleased by the bikes I purchased the maintenance done and the gear I’ve purchased as well.
Update (Jun 7):
I received a call last week from the shop asking me to take the bike back to have them check out the issue again. We spent some time together to isolate the issue and have the $30 part that caused the issue replaced. I moved across the country quite a lot for the last 10 years. I visited plenty of bike shops. Today is the first time I heard a bike shop staff apologized for misdiagnosed the issue previously. I am sincerely impressed with their candor and take ownership of their work.
Original (May-19):
My bike was skipping teeth at the highest gear under load. I dropped the bike off on May-2 to get it fixed. I was being told parts in the rims caused the issue and need to be replaced. I picked it up on May-9. The weather got chill again since then. I took the bike out on May-19 on a warm day for a ride. The ride "feel" smoother for sure as both rims were replaced at a cost of $143 (with labor, see pic). However.... the skipping teeth issue wasn't fixed.
Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. Could stay there all day and talk to them. Even bonded over some beer stories and Mnbeeerbus.com business.
You are fantastic! Definitely my LBS of choice. I really appreciate the honesty of your techs (both times I've come in asking if a part needed to be replaced, the answer was "no"), the kindness and support of the sales team, and the overall atmosphere of the bike shop. I hope all is well, and that your customers are being patient and understanding of everything you're doing right now to keep things chugging along in spite of everything.
We needed some fit adjustments to our Trek bikes which we bought from Maple Grove Cycling. We couldn't be happier with our bikes, and the service has been phenomenal. It was suggested we see JC to ensure proper fitting adjustments, and he was terrific—extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. JC went out of his way to ensure we got the help we needed on our visit, and I am super happy with the results! Highly recommend Maple Grove Cycling!I was also quite impressed with the precautions taken at the store for COVID19.
I called looking for a graduation gift for my son. JC was amazing and helped guide me to the correct bike that would meet our needs. He even took the time to speak directly with my son about the bike recommendation. I am aware that under the current pandemic situation that your store is very busy and working under unpredictable times. I appreciated JC taking the time to assist us over the phone with our purchase. It was truly top notch customer service.
Went to pick up my Trek 100 challenger stem cap and mug and ended up leaving with a sweet new hat. First time there and I’ll for sure be back.
Everyone had a mask on and their system of allowing only so many people in at a time should be familiar to most. Appreciate them taking things seriously and doing their part!
Definitely check them out!
Just moved to Maple Grove and found my new bike shop. Extremely friendly and helpful. My bike was repaired within 15 minutes and the whole visit was about as good of a first impression as you can ask for.
Great experience here. Two people helped me and were fantastic. I didn't catch the name of one, but the other was Eber. I had researched a bike before coming in and they were able to tell me more about it and reassure me that it would fit my needs.
Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Dan took the time to go over everything with the bike to be sure it would be the right fit. I was impressed and will definitely go back to buy our next bike.
I had a fantastic experience at Maple Grove Cycling. I brought my 12 year old daughter in for her first adult bike. Cathi helped us and was so patient. She really took time to see what fit, but also what my daughter loved. She even took time to teach her to change gears and size her helmet. We will give them future business for sure! Thank you for taking time for great customer service.
Doug went way above and beyond to fix an issue with my bike that other shops wouldn’t touch.
Great work. The best customer service. The only bike shop I’ll work with from now on.
The staff is always friendly and helpful and it doesn't matter what your biking experience is. They are never arrogant or belittling as I have experienced with other bike shops. They also dont push the most expensive bike on you. You tell them what you want and your price range and they stay within those limits.
I've had nothing but great experiences with this store. They've patiently answered all of my questions, provided great guidance on parts, and even did some light repair work on my bike for free. Highly recommend!
As an owner of a fleet of bikes, I'm a frequent customer and have also had a bike fit here. The staff always goes above and beyond on repairs and warranty issues. Their staff isn't paid on commission, so they won't try and oversell something to you. Their bike fitting process is also a great deal. The fitters are knowledgeable and experienced, which is really what you want most in a fit; a bunch of fancy fit gizmos don't help if the fitter doesn't know how to use them or puts every rider in the same position.
Purchased the Bike Fit at the fit studio there. JC was very professional and thorough, measuring the before angles and settings, using the tools to get the correct angles and settings, then recommending which specific parts to modify and change. Explaining all along the way, and open to all my questions. Service was excellent and well worth it, and looking forward to riding the fit bike again soon!
Had a great experience at this bike shop. A couple of my friends who are new to mountain biking wanted to give it a try, so I called up Maple Grove Cycling to set up a bike rental for them. They were extremely helpful and the rental bikes were in really good shape. Plus, as an added bonus, it's really close to Elm Creek, so it's a short drive to the trailhead and back to drop off the bikes. Awesome.
Also, I had a great experience with one of the employees in the service department. I was asking my friend if he had a bungee cord in his car, as I forgot to bring one for the bike rack, and the service guy brought me out an old tube to use as a short term solution, without me even asking! That was really nice of him!
Anyway, if you want to rent some hardtails or fat bikes to go mountain biking around the cities, give these guys a call.
Great, honest staff with friendly service. The staff was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, did a fantastic job of explaining all the features of the bikes and accessories we looked at and bought.
Place is always hopping but they've never been rude or reluctant to help out. Great mechanics and team here. Mark especially embodies the ultimate tech, definitely an engineering mentality on him when it comes to resolving issues.
Bravo to him
Great customer service and mechanics that get you back on the trail!
If you are looking for a professional bike fit, look no further. I have had other bike fittings but never truly felt any significant improvement. Here I have already experienced huge benefits. JC spent 3+ hours working with me and my bike. He is passionate, professional and knowledgeable. Before starting he gathered extensive riding history and measurements. He continued to ask questions and listen to me throughout the fitting to understand my needs and desires. JC did not push new parts just to be selling inventory. He was truly focused on improving my riding experience and meeting my needs. It is a 40+ minute drive to MGC but will be my go to bike shop from now on.
These guys are just great!! Retail side and mechanics are easy to work with very professional, extremely impressed by their bike knowledge
MGC has a great staff and they generally have a wide variety of quality items in the store (bikes, clothing, parts, accessories). It's a shop worth stopping by to take a look around, have a conversation with staff or another customer, and of course to get a fair deal on good stuff- good stuff with excellent after sale support!
The staff at Maple Grove Cycling have always been great but this past week I received exceptional service from Mark in the service department. He took extra care with my bike, explained what he would do, then what he did, and how to better maintain my bike. I could tell that it isn't just a job with Mark, or with any of the staff I've encountered at MGC- they all love cycling and want to share it with others.

Every time I have stopped at Maple Grove cycling whether it was to buy a bike, test ride, or get accessories I have been treated with kindness. All of their staff is knowledgeable about bikes and passionate. I travel all the way from Eagan just to experience this.
Recently purchased 2 bikes from MGC, one for myself and one for my wife. Overall experience was excellent. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions and worked with me to make sure I was making the right decision. (My first choice was to purchase a fat-tire bike, however after discussing my riding needs and goals we determined a more traditional mountain bike was the correct choice). Both of us are extremely happy with the bikes we purchased and look forward to working with Maple Grove Cycle and it's staff in the future.
If you need any sort of bike repair, I highly recommend Maple Grove Cycling! I thought I was going to need to quickly order some expensive replacement parts but instead they were able to clean up and fix my hub, replace my botton bracket and tune up my brakes just in time to participate and finish the Arrowhead 135 on my fat tire bike. My bike rode perfectly! Thank you so much Travis!
Great place to go for advice, fitting, and general education. They helped me get my 1.5 year old fitted for a helmet and took the time to go over pros and cons of the different helmets they sell as well as other ones available. I always feel good leaving and am confident I've made the right decisions.
J.C. is one of a kind to work with, and a huge asset to the shop. I've been in there twice for bike fittings, and he is knowledgable, personable, and thorough, and just plain flat out good at what he does. He has a great personality and demeanor. I will be back and will continue to purchase Trek / from Maple Grove Cycling because when I get fitted or have a race coming up and need adjustments, I want to work with him.
Maple Grove Cycling offers high-quality products and stands behind all they sell. Their staff is well-trained, knowledgeable, friendly, and able to service the needs of everyone from new cyclists to competitive cyclists. Our family loves MGC!
Excellent customer service! We are very pleased with our choice to purchase our daughters first bike here. They explained each option well and there was no pressure to buy.
Preface: I have not been an avid biker nor have I spent substantial money on a bike at this point in my life. I stopped at MGC and they were very kind and knowledgeable. I was impressed by the employees and the product.
I was clear about where I was coming from and they were willing to understand that I was not used to spending big money on bikes and emphasized the value and durability that their long lasting bikes offer. They put me right on a few bikes and showed me how large my bike frame should be and how high my seat should sit for my height. The salesman explained the benefits of having a light and durable bike that would last for years to come, and could end up costing less than replacing or maintaining bargain bikes. I think they did a much better job of showing their product than the patronizing employees at the Erik's in town and the folks at MGC could bring new bikers into the sport. I'm not sure if I will bite yet, but I am certainly thinking about it. Thank you guys for you time tonight.
Extremely helpful, nice, and knowledgeable staff. I found a quality part here that I couldn't find on the internet. Bought a couple other things to support a local business. Not the cheapest, but in this case that's a good sign resulting in quality parts and a great staff. I'll be back.
Over the past several years I have only positive experiences here! Everyone is so sincere and kind. They always spend a lot of time answering questions. Once, I brought my son’s bike in because it got a little banged up after a fall he had. They straightened everything out and sent me on my way for free. They also took the pedals and training wheels off of a used bike I bought for free since I didn’t feel comfortable doing it at home. They are flexible, kind, and never make me feel rushed. They also do not up-sell or overcharge, which is especially nice since they have top-of-the-line merchandise which is already pricey.
We had amazing service. The people there are insanely knowledgeable and are so nice. I talked with one of the employees for about two hours just about bikes and I'm not even that into bikes but he was awesome.
I came out from California to participate in the Tuscobia Winter Ultra event. I rented a Trek Farley 5 Fat Bike to ride in the race. The bike I rented was in great condition ( almost new ! ) and performed flawlessly in the race. Renting the bike from Maple Grove Cycles was much more convenient than shipping or flying with the bike. The staff at the shop were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the shop for any rider traveling to the area for a cycling event. Five Stars!
The employees were friendly and helpful. The store was very clean and well organized. It was also very well stocked. I found exactly what I was looking for plus a few things that I didn't know I wanted! Overall a very good experience.
I have been ridding for 12 years. I ride a lot. Like 4,000 miles a year. I need a great Bike Shop. Maple Grove Cycle is the best
Bought my Trek bike here and had a wonderful experience. Great customer service, very friendly staff. Very pleased with my purchase and will definitely return in the future
This was my first time stepping food in a Bike Shop. I Purchased 2 Trek Bicycles yesterday, I never knew how much of a difference a high quality bicycle was compared to the cheap bicycles I've been riding all my life. After a few test rides we were ready to buy. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the free coffee was delicious.
Purchased a bike here and have also received repairs. I've always received first class service. They have great technicians who are willing to take the time to explain parts of your bike. Highly recommend.
I wanted to share how amazing this shop is! I had an issue with my SRAM Guide brakes. First I called about 7 bike shops explaining the issue. These guys were the only ones confident enough to assure me they could work with SRAM to get a warranty replacement. Also during the time they had my bike and were able to get me a full warranty replacement free of charge and they also overhauled my bike. My rear shock no longer sqeaks and I didnt even ask for anything else. I would give them 10 stars if possible. Also amazingly responsive customer service along the process!
Second bike I bought from Jeff. One if the most pleasant buying experiences I've had. Thank you! Also I drove across town from a Penn cycle just to buy here. Great experience!
I live in Eden Prairie so driving up to Maple Grove is a little bit of a drive. These guys are definitely worth it! I bought a 2014 Trek Fuel Ex 8 from them earlier this year and couldn't be happier. Great group of people at this location. My next bike, hopefully this winter, will without question be from these guys!
I brought in my old Schwinn Varsity that I was having issues with to have work done. The issues were diagnosed in front of me and explained and everything was priced out before they even took a wrench to it. Despite the fact that my bike was old and tired I and my bike were treated like a high priority. When I came to pick it up the bicycle tech explained what had been done and what I might consider to have done in the future. He even gave me a referral to place where I could find OEM parts. The work wasn’t cheap but I definitely got what I paid for, and the entire process was extremely transparent. To put it simply, I could have asked for better service, but that would have been downright greedy!
Bike Fitting - JC was fantastic to work with. Invested a lot of time to understand my needs, issues, etc. We spent about 3 hours together discussing, measuring, adjusting, riding, and repeat. We found a great saddle that has eliminated my numbness and pressure points, and a proper handlebar stem. The same attention was given to mapping my feet for proper fit and function. Additional adjustments on my bike (Trek Domane) have greatly improved my riding experience. I'm an avid rider. This has added many miles to my rides. Invest the time and money to get it done right. I had a bike in mind and when I saw Maple Grove Cycling was a Trek dealer I stopped by. Met Jim Greenwood and appreciated his insights and experience. Very happy with my purchase.
Great experience. Very professional staff with a lot of experience . Price for tuneups was much cheaper than nearby “chain” store.
I enjoyed talking with the staff about what they would do.
Great and convenient location, great bikes and services from Monday thru Sunday. A great staff always ready to give you a hand or advice even tough you're coming/using a different bike brand than they sell directly
Recently moved to the area and was looking for a bike shop to take my road to for service and repairs. I’ve been in there a few times now and they always go above and beyond to take care of any problems I’m having with my bike. Would definitely recommend them to anyone on the northwest side of the Twin Cities.
Very helpful with a brake adjustment needed from a bike I bought this spring so I could ride that day. Very helpful and courteous staff.
The Maple Grove Cycling B/B+ ride has the perfect combination of speed (but not too much speed), route variety, chill attitude, and great looking bikes. I'm not sure how they manage to keep getting better every year, but they do. The 40/60 full kit to fun jersey ratio shows that this group means business but not at the expense of a good time. There's also a nice balance of riders who want to put the hammer down and riders who want to draft the riders who want to put the hammer down. These guys are killing it as the middle child of group ride levels.
A+ Customer Service! After the Tour de Tonka, a friend and I purchased some new glasses, some bike Accessories, and got a Great education from the Knowledgeable staff here. Brought my wife back for some more sunglasses. Def. going to be a normal stop for us!
I loved how knowledgeable and helpful the sales associate was! Eber went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the right product. Thanks for the great service as always!
Great service and knowledgable salespeople. With new procedures due to covid-19, I felt safe and things were very smooth and organized. Love my new bike.
Every single staff member delivers exceptional customer service and Trek's thoughtful design and vast product range make Maple Grove Cycling the No. 1 shop in MN! Check them out, you won't be disappointed!
I flew into town to do the Maple Grove Triathlon with my daughter. I rented a bike from this cycling shop to participate in the triathlon. Travis suggested a bike that I might like and he even brought it out to the event and took it back to his shop when the event was complete. I like the bike so well that I'm going to get one of my own. I appreciated his help with the selection of the bike and the fact that he brought it out and took it back for me.
Excellent service, and I recommend MGC and staff to everyone I meet. When I decided to purchase a new road bike, I stopped in every bike shop (2 year process) from Seattle to Florida, including many in MN, WI and IA. As I was new to the sport, I had intended to purchase the Trek Silk, but after learning more, and upon the completion of my bike shop tour, I purchased a 2015 Madone 7.9 Project One from MGC and have not questioned my purchase and could not be more satisfied with MGC, staff, service and their complete inventory (COSTCO for Cyclists) of the most current cycling and athletic supplies. My Madone is white, following (Freaky Fast-72 Hour Guaranteed) service, there is not so much as a spec of dirt or oily fingerprint on my bike. I simply drive up, they unload and load my bike from from my car, and I always leave with helpful hints and more knowledge about taking care of my bike to ensure its longevity. They truly are building lasting relationships and everyone is so kind, honest, friendly, and it is truly apparent how much they love the sport and want to share it. Honestly, no question is too dumb, they give my bike a complete look over, make adjustments and really LISTEN to you and your needs to assist with making sure you purchase the right bike and equipment. MGC organizes many social events at the shop, group rides, races, trunks shows specific to women and other events allowing riders to meet and share cycling experiences - leading to my 500 mile ride across IA (RAGBRAI). I wouldn't buy from any other shop. EVER... I could not thank them enough. Worth the drive.. Love this shop.
I recommend this place, knowledgeable, friendly service. Especially my man JC. I appreciate having the free annual tuneups every winter. They don't always try to upsell more service, but when they do, it's because I need it.
Brought a bike in for service and tech quickly diagnosed issue as well as another item that needed correction. Work was performed and bike was ready much sooner than had been promised!! Love this shop!!
All the bikes and products sold here are great! The only thing better are the mechanics and sales people. They go out of their way to help you.
Mark is the best. He is spending time with my son, Ryan, to make sure he has the best possible bike to finish out his high school mountain bike racing career strong. It is such a pleasure to work with people who truly care and are not just trying to sell you something. Our family will be a customers for life!
Went there seeking handlebars for a wheelchair‼️ The standard handles were hurting my wrists. Dan was so helpful and enthusiastic. We came up with a wonderful alternative using stand up bike handles. Now we go on long walks and navigate hills so much better
I brought in my fiancée a bike to make it easier on her back. I asked for help installing the seat with the back rest/new seat pole. Instead of just providing that, the knowledgeable staff asked questions to get to the root cause of her back pain- a leaning over “3” position. An installed seat with backrest would not help at all. They recommended me a stem extender, new cushy seat, and longer cables. Had everything purchased and installed within a day for less than $200. More importantly, the fiancée is happy with her new modified bike. Therefore, I am happy!
5 star service team. I brought the bike in to get a creak fixed and got a call back within 2 days. Super friendly front end employees as well!
We have six bikes all purchased through maple Grove Cycling. Absolutely love this store. Every person in the store is an enthusiast.
Great service! My husband took his bike in today and they repaired it while we waited. Thanks Doug!!
Great staff! Friendly, knowledgeable, professional - ALWAYS! Would not consider any other place for service or purchase of a bike.
I love the guys at Maple Grove Trek!! Not only is the service superb, they are just amazing at what they do! I can not recommend them highly enough. Whether you are new to biking or a seasoned expert, they are great!
Always attentive to what your needs are and willing to work with you to get satisfaction.
It took us two years and a few trips before finally finding the right bikes. Each time in, though, every sales person spent time with us talking about bikes and parts, giving us the benefit of their experience.
Always such friendly and attentive staff. I have not had a single bad experience yet, either with sales or with service. I will definitely keep coming back here rather than other chains or LBSs.
Super nice staff and service people there. Was in today and they tweaked a bike we had brought in last season that needed an adjustment. Really good experience, friendly and efficient!
Great, knowledgeable staff and service. Received my bike back 3 days sooner than promised. This is the best my bike has performed.
Great service, great deals, and great people!! I live in South Minneapolis and work in Plymouth. I come to MGC because of the dedicated ownership and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Keep it up; you’re a community staple!!
I brought my bike in for a tune up and staff was eager to help me out and get my bike back in a reasonable time frame - thank you!
Great store. Awesome selection of bikes and accessories. Knowledgeable staff that want you to get what you need to be successful. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic shop with the bikes I need, bikes I want, and everything to keep them moving. Mechanics and sales have been experts in what we've needed, from Fat Bikes to Cyclocross and kid carriers (our family has bought all three from MGC). Well worth the drive, which we make all the way from Baxter for all bike needs.
These guys are awesome! They have a ton of stuff in stock-even high end bikes/parts/accessories. Are always friendly and fast. It's hard to find a place like this in the Twin Cities. Just wish they had more locations.
Great customer service. Website easy to navigate with good information. Free annual tune ups for my new bike.
I was in Minneapolis for the weekend and saw that there was an event called the Tour de Tonka. I didn't have my bicycle, but I borrowed an old steel one from my grandfather and decided to do the 100 mile ride. On the way to the start I got a flat tire (sidewall puncture). The tire was shot, but the employees from Maple Grove had a tire and tube on hand and helped me make it in time for the start for my ride. Awesome group of guys who were very patient, understanding, and helpful. Thank you for making sure my ride went great!
This place is amazing!!!
I have an old bike from the 80s, they had parts and it was a quick fix. 5min flat replacement!
Staff was amazing and so friendly!!!
Unfailingly helpful and courteous. And they never try to sell you more than you need. We have sent a number of friends and family their way. Everyone has been pleased! 10+
Best bike store I’ve been in. Amy was great and very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to get my bike fitted.
I was biking in the neighborhood when my front tire went flat. I stopped in the store to see about getting some air in the tire. I was told the innertube was probably broke and needed to be replaced, I told him I only had $5.00 on me. They took my bike and changed the innertube for me. Thank you so much, I was able to finish my Sunday ride.
MGC has treated me very fairly. I have come in with two different problems caused by another shop in the Twin Cities, and not only have they been able to fix it, they have fixed it quickly. I will now only shop at MGC!
Nice shop with good customer service. Would have been 5 stars but their parts and bike selection is a tad slim. Overall would definarely recommend!
The owner and staff are outstanding! They teach the ins and outs of bicycle choices and repairs. Great shop for novice and experienced riders!
Always friendly staff willing to take care of my biking needs. In addition to fast service, there are many options from which to choose. They are my go to bike service place!
Excellent service. Finished 1 week ahead of time and assured me I did not need to a make all the repairs I had thought I needed to make. Love these guys!
I had a great experience at Maple Grove Cycling. They are very knowledgeable about their products and have a good maintenance program.
Great service - high level of expertise, friendly, enthusiastic. We also enjoyed the family atmosphere and business model. We'll be regulars for sure.
I was recently in to the shop with a bike computer problem—Kristopher spent about 30 minutes troubleshooting for me, and replaced my sensor for free under warranty. Awesome customer service!!
Ordered a pair of cycling shorts online that were delivered extra-fast. Thanks for the great service. The shorts are awesome too!
Amy was a fantastic resource especially to those of us who are new to the world of cycling. Knowledgeable, friendly, honest.
Stopped by without an appointment on 8/23, and was on my way with my gears fixed, chain cleaned, and good advice about cleaning care in the future, in under 30 minutes. Super impressed!
As an MGC team member, I will say that this my all time favorite shop to work in. A well trained Service Team and knowledgeable Sales Staff.
Fast and friendly service on a simple gear adjustment. Thank you
Great customer service and these guys and gals really give you genuine help and offer you more bang for your buck. I will do more business there.

Great customer service, very professional. I liked free tuneup.
Liked how they managed customers during Covid 19. The employee who asked me what I needed was very helpful and the seat cover I bought works great.
This place is sales first and bikes second. Decent selection - but do your research beforehand if you’re purchasing a bike.
Excellent service, bottom bracket repair completed within 2 days, returned just in time for the weekend.
