The gem of the 'family owned corner bicycle shop' is alive and well. Friendly owner, quick service and they did an excellent job on my bike. Appreciate the attention to detail paid on a bike hardly up to the standards of a TourdeFrance rider, but felt like it was given the same treatment! Definitely worth the drive

Working with Dan has been awesome. I am
new to biking and he has been more than happy to bend over backwards to help me figure out what I should get vs what I want. No high pressure sales tactics, no up-sells and an absolutely down to earth and honest small business owner. Dan is the best - and this is coming from another small business owner.
I was a bit hesitant to visit Grand Performance at first due to being older and inexperienced visiting a bike shop with premium bikes and thinking I would be frowned upon by not being a biking pro. Boy. Was I wrong. Let me emphasize this - do not hesitate to visit Grand Performance if you are looking for a bike as a new rider - even if you’re old like me! Dan will make you feel at home and help you out with anything.
I look forward to getting my new bike, and another new bike in a couple years once new models and parts are available, and working with Dan and Grand Performance for years to come! I am referring everyone I know to Grand Performance for their biking needs (and wants!)

Top notch service, always. I've had them work on several of my bikes and they've been able to repair my vintage beauties as well as problem solve on some of my newer builds. Definitely recommend.

Amazing service! Allen walked me through my first bike purchase in a very long time! Super helpful, reasonable and honest. A great buying experience!

This bike shop is a beautiful place. It was my go to shop when I lived in Saint Paul. In my humble opinion, it is one of the best (if not the best) shop in the country. Why? There are many dyed in the wool institutional bike shops in the US that have an air of superiority. Grand Performance, however strikes the perfect balance of having a laid back friendly atmosphere with world class knowledge.

This was far and above the best bike purchase I have ever made. Dan took the time to give me a comprehensive bike fit and send me out the door with a product that will not only work but work for me. Dan's relaxed approach makes buying a bike easy. There was never any pressure to purchase additional un-needed accessories or up-sell. Instead, Dan gave his honest opinion on all products while steering me away from items he believes wouldn't be in my best interests. I look forward to working with Dan and Grand Performance in the future even if it means driving 3.5 hours from a neighboring state.

Wow. Just went in to talk shop about gravel vs. road bikes, knowing that I'm leaving town and not going to buy anything from the store. They still welcomed me in for conversation and advice and were far more informative than Erik's or other chains. Kind of sad knowing that I can't have these guys as my go-to store, but at least I have a standard to hold others to. Much love to Grand Performance, pay them a visit!

This bike shop is top-notch. Last summer they helped me deal with a tangled bike chain and didn't even charge me for it, just as a courtesy. Then this December they did some major repairs, upgrades & tuneup on my old touring bike to get it ready for travel again — and made sure it was ready in time for my trip date, even with the busy holiday season. Friendly service and easy to talk to in general... even better, they are good on communication, update you o progress, and leave detailed voicemails if needed to keep you in the loop/get info they need from you. The bike is running smoothly. Special thanks to mechanics Luis and Lee, who even stayed a little late one night to get it done in time. Highly recommend.

I first learned about Grand performance (I live in Minneapolis), when the company I worked for placed solar energy on Dan's building in the year 2012. The following year, I decided it was time to trade in my old, but still in excellent condition 22 year old Fuji. Grand performance donated that bicycle. I purchased a Kona and really like it, and the performance, it is grand! (Pun intended) The friendly service from the employees and Dan, the knowledge and skill, keep me coming back for more accessories, clothing and more, and always great conversations.

I worked with GP to build a Soma bike from scratch, and the staff was extremely helpful. They ordered the frame I wanted (not current production model), got it built up, and had me riding it in 2 weeks. It's the coolest bike I've ever owned. They helped with parts recommendations, bike fitting, and made it easy and fun. Never pressured, always helped. Very good tech staff.
A+, all the way.

The guys at Grand Performance are awesome! They just completed a rebuild of my road bike with all the latest SRAM etap AXS grouppo, Quarq power meter, and ZIPP NSW 303's and everything was done perfectly! They GP guys are super knowledgeable, super friendly, and are more than happy to do the custom things, plus they gave me guidance on what to do and more importantly what not to do. They were right on with all their recommendations and their work was amazing! Bravo Grand Performance!

Great experience purchasing a bike. Dane fitted it to my specific needs and limitations with such patience and respect. Then delivered it and set it up as a stationary bike as well. Been to many other bike shops where I felt egos rather than customer prevailed. This is the place to go!!! Thanks Dan and to all staff

This shop has been known as one of the best shops in the Twin Cities - and the Upper Midwest - for decades. Their selection of top end cycling equipment is top notch and their friendliness to cyclists of all skill levels and interests is as refreshing as it is uncommon. Their mechanics execute even the smallest details of repairs correctly. It's truly a standout business in a city that has a large amount of competition. Absolutely worth your time to visit!

Grand Performance offers a wide selection of high quality bicycles (especially if you're looking for an Italian brand like Bianchi, Colnago, or Wilier) and bike products, all in a friendly setting. Dan and the rest of the team at the shop are very helpful, always happy to answer questions. I bought my road bike at GP and have loved every mile on it. Highly recommend!

[ A++ ] Love the place!! The staff is extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. If you love cycling, riding competitively or casually this is the shop for you! Definitely my new favorite bike shop in the Twin Cities and will be going back for years to come! Would highly recommend at lease stopping by to take a look around.

Great shop! I've been to Grand Performance a couple times when I journey down to the cities from Duluth. While I've only been to GP to check out some apparel, I've been very pleased with the sales guys and their general knowledge of the products they sell, including the bikes which were teasing me to build up a newer ride.
For what it is worth, I used to work for both Eriks and Freewheel. Both are good shops but something about a mom-and-pop shop has more appeal and GP seems like a great place to drop a few coins.

I live in Mankato, ride a Carbondale carbon Synapse flatbar, & called Friday to discuss Silca pumps. Dan (the owner) & I got to yakking, as one does, and when I lamented the inability to get a proper fit where I live, he mentioned he’s been fitting bikes for 38 years. Wait. What? I am 57 years old and have never had a professional fitting! So we made a 2-hour appt for 3pm Saturday. Best $150 I’ve ever spent. Dan’s approach & methodology is scientific, but he elevates his fittings to an art. So finicky. So patient. And when he introduced the laser he uses to measure knee-wobble while peddling so he can adjust the cleats, he said everyone reassures him lasers don't hurt after they lose consciousness.
I am a big dork with long legs and narrow shoulders. I arrived with a lousy fit & badly-positioned cleats. I used to ride scrunched with my weight on my wrists and a back that got sore after just 30mi. 50mi+, forget it. My chiropractor was ... ecstatic. So Dan increased saddle height by >3mm, pushed the seat back almost to the limit of the rails, radically readjusted the cleats, chopped ½” off each end of my flatbar to match my bookish shoulders, improved wrist ergonomics … and that’s the stuff I remember. What I know is results. Thanks to Dan, I am riding comfortably for literally the first time in my life. My 1st century is finally in reach. Happily, GP also satisfies my Silca fetish, has become my go-to for carbon wheel upgrades, a new winter trainer, even a possible cockpit upgrade after Dan demonstrated the difference in hand positions & wrist ergonomics between flatbars & drops.
I found later that Dan fitted my stepdad on his Bianchi Columbus SLX back in the mid-80s; my stepdad said that if he knew I needed a fitting that he would’ve said go see Dan. That makes Grand Performance an accidental family tradition.

The best. No one here tries to sell you more than you want, and they are in their element with everyone from a customer buying a first road bike to a racer buying their fifth.
I've helped a few friends buy bikes, and the other shops may have some nice rides, but they don't match the service and knowledge you get here. Top notch.

I actually haven’t been in to the store but wanted to send a shout out to the group at Grand Performance for being such stand up people. My husband dropped his tablet in your area and an employee of Grand Performance found it and did some easy investigation work to contact my husband and get him his tablet back. Not everyone would have done the same, thank you for valuing honesty and integrity.

I went in several weeks ago to replace a chain. The people were very helpful and took care of me. It was fun talking about the Dean grocery store where as a kid I would buy cigarettes for my dad and neighbor.
S Leeley
Very knowledgeable and friendly. This is my first choice shop for bike repairs in the Twin Cities. Highly recommended.
Ping Wang
I chatted with the owner. This store is his life, his home, and he cares for it like his life and home. My bike he fixed was like a new bike. Amazing. Neighbors, please send your bikes there, and don't forget to chat with the owner at the front desk.

I spend a lot of time in bike shops and this is a truly great one. Good variety of bikes from entry level to high-end race bikes. Lots of local racers ride from here and it’s where Steve Hed built his first wheels. It’s a bonafide part of cycling history.

No better place to invest in yourself and a bicycle. Dan and his team are experts. If you value your hard earned dollars; don't buy anywhere else. Dan's team will find you the best bike for your budget. I don't live close by, but I have bought every bike from them for the last 20 years. You don't find many businesses like this... a place that values the customer.
Denise DuCharme
Thank you for taking the time to show us new bikes, letting me test ride them, all while social distancing. First day on my new bike 10 miles, with no difficulty, first ride in 20 years 👍🏻 …
William Anderson
Every time I have come into the shop, I have been so amazing with how helpful all of the staff members have been, and especially Dan. Dan did an amazing job helping me find the perfect bike, shoes and kit, and I am so thankful for everything Grand Performance has done for me. Thank you!!

In town from chicago and needed a new set of tires and details on some local fast group rides. Dan and the staff were super helpful and I will definitely be back any time I am in the twin cities. Great shop!
Geoffrey Wagner
GP is absolutely the best! Dan is a great guy and business owner and Lee is a skilled mechanic who can work on anything. Won't consider taking the bikes to anyone else.
Charles Licha
The owner Dan has always had the odd ball parts I have needed to fix my old bikes. Dan's advice is the best there is. Been shopping there since 1984. Best there is!!
William Wenmark
Lee is amazing and so helpful as is Dan and others. Walked in with blown off tire and lots of road rash. Tire fixed, all my wounds repaired and finish my 134.2 mile Fat Bike ride. Thank you all so much. Doc

Very helpful, quick service. They answer your questions without pressuring you to buy anything, and explain things in a way that a bike novice can understand.
Clara Eshaghpour
Don't be intimidated by the fancy bikes, because the staff is super friendly and helpful, no matter what kind of riding you do. I had a really great experience here
