This store is great!! Not only do they have wonderful bikes but the team are incredibly helpful! They all seem to love their job and they work well together. I particularly appreciate the annual FREE checkup. (Since I don’t have a rack, they even loaded and unloaded my bike for me! ) I highly recommend Gateway!!

I hadn’t used my Trek bicycle in quite a few years. It needed a good tuneup and some extra work. It turned out that there was also an outstanding recall from Trek on the crank which was 25 years old!! They took care of everything and now my bike runs great!! They were very pleasant and very professional.

Gateway provided immediate diagnosis of squeak that previous shop could not detect. Made adjustment to double check diagnosis and replaced parts to fix issue all in less than a half hour. Honest local bike shop. In over twenty years of experience with Gateway I have always felt service on my bikes has been done expertly and been fairly priced. I feel that providing great customer service is a priority to them. Thanks! And another thing, stopped in today 9.4.2022, a holiday weekend. My bike had shifter issues. Joey immediately put it on a stand and tweaked it. Still had issues, along comes Billy who fine tunes it further. My shifter cable had frayed internally but they found it in minutes. As busy as the store was this dynamic duo took care of me handily ! Where Gateway finds their customer friendly technicians is a mystery to me. There is only Gateway Cycle for me and my bikes!

Was biking the gateway trail with many miles yet to go and my ebike suddenly broke down! I looked through the trees and unbelievably there just happened to be this cycling shop. Upon stopping they fixed it within 15 minutes for a very reasonable price. Couldn't believe the speed and quality of the knowledgeable staff. Can't get this kind of service in the cities

My family has been coming to Gateway for over 25 years. Their expertise, phenomenal service, and Midwest realistic attitude are what keep us coming back. I recently purchased a new Trek ALR 4 2021 from Gateway. It had been a hot minute since I last purchased a bike and this time, I needed a road bike. Problem was, I knew nothing. Just before the state shutdown, I visited the shop to start my search and Troy spent well over an hour an hour answering questions about road bikes in general and specific models even though I told him I wouldn’t be purchasing that day. To be honest, I could’ve (and probably should’ve) made my purchase that day because Troy answered every question I had (and then some!) and I ended up purchasing the model we discussed. Pricing was on point too, and they even gave me an additional deal. Bought some accessories too, and everything was ready to go when I picked it up. I’m also so happy with the safety processes they’ve created during this pandemic. Regardless of your stance, they are extremely diligent so if you are high risk, you don’t need to worry about visiting. Thank you for being so amazing Gateway! You’ll always be my family’s go-to for bikes!

I am not sure if he did something else to the bike, but, after I got it back, I noticed how much more smoothly and quietly my bike rode. It's Sunday afternoon and I ran over a broken bottle that some wonderful individual threw out his or her window. God I love people that litter. (NOT) Now what, well I got on the phone and called Gateway bike shop and sure enough they had a tire in stock. Pushed the bike to the truck and headed over - in about 15 minutes they had me back on the road. Hey folks, I'm not kidding. This place is a class act from top to bottom. To heck with Erik's, they never have anything in stock AND their lead time is 2-4 days. Like I said, this place is a class act!!!!

I have been extremely happy with my experience at Gateway Cycle. We shopped a couple other places and as a novice in the bike world I was shown things I didn't need or talked to with terns over my head. At Gateway I felt like part of the family. They asked me purposeful questions and after saying I needed a family bike that could handle the occasional dirt road, but was like my old 10 speed mountain bike I had as a kid they showed me a crossover Trek. They fitted me way better than other stores and stayed outside whole I tried the bike to help with questions and adjustments. That was service and I only got that at Gateway. The size I needed was still in a box and I got a text it was ready to try in less than a day. They also added a kickstand and water bottle holder same day. I'm a mom and a wife and any place that is this stress free I will definitely give my business too again. Please try Gateway Cycle, they are AMAZING!

They also do a really good job making sure you get all the equipment and gears you need and installs them on for you during your purchase. This is a great bike shop. They sell great bikes and give good advice about any biking issue. They offer a free basic yearly tune up for as long as you own the bike and honor this without any questions. I have always been treated well there.

Took my electric bike in to have them check out my gears as they weren't shifting and it kept knocking the chain off. Within 30 min my bike was fixed/operable and it only cost me $12! Very pleased with their service and low cost. While there, a guy came in and had them check his tire pressure which they also did quickly for him. Nice people.

Eric was a super helpful guy! He got me set up with a rack and helmets and I made an appointment to come get my bikes tuned up! An upbeat shop! It's nice for people with money. Looking back I feel kinda ripped off; this was my first bike shop because it was closer than the rest. I brought in my old '90s bikes for a tune up and regret it a lot. I'm new to biking so I didnt know any better. I spent 800 bucks here easy just getting started. Look for better deals.

Brought my older Trek 4300 bike in for a badly needed tune up. They did a quick test of the gears, brakes, etc. before I left to give a good estimate of what needed to be done and estimated cost so nothing would be shocking upon pickup. Replaced the chain, put all the gears, shifters in the parts washer and tuned it back to like new performance! Looks and works like new! Staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and answered all my questions! They did a great job at a good price.

The best place to go for bike sales and service. We bought two electric bikes there three years ago. They're a blast to ride, and Gateway has been incredible helping us keep them on the road. Have to occasionally update the computer software, and have had minor adjustments and maintenance. We've also purchased every accessory we can find from them, and they always install quickly. We had a great experience at the store. We were greeted and told that someone would be with us. Because we went in with the intention to purchase something that day, I believe that we were pretty easy customers; even so, they made the buying experience great. 8-7-21 I've been dealing with them for 12yrs now. I bought a TREK FUEL 6.5 MTB from them waaay back in 2010. Unfortunately it was stolen within 3 yrs 😭. Some of the finest guys you'll ever meet. They're very knowledgeable about any bike. Need a simple tune up? or a how about a more thorough tune up? Rest assure your bike will be in good hands. They will even give you a free inspection. They will tell you what's good and what's bad what needs to be replaced, if any. The prices are fair when it comes to labor cost. I had them do several repairs and adjustments throughout the years. As of recent, I had them install some hydraulic breaks and lines, a rear Cassette, cranks and a front derailleur. It was done in under a week. I also had them to some minor adjustments. Being prepared to pay, they told me it's on the house!! What? Who does that!? Gateway Cycle does, that's who. Now... The bad news. As some of you know, securing a bicycle is pretty difficult these days. They are soooo backed up!! by the time you order a bike from them and getting the bike it will winter time! This is NOT there fault. Sometimes for them getting a part can be painful. So I recommend, or do yourself a favor, and purchase the parts on your own and have them install it for you. It would be much faster. When you walk in the shop you'll immediately notice that it's empty!! Again, it's not there fault. Bottom line is the guys in there are very helpful, highly knowledgeable and very friendly. More importantly, they're good at what they do. Good luck and happy cycling

Great friendly staff and did a great job on service. One of the services I paid for was derailleur adjustments. At first, it seemed like one of the gears was still sticking after the adjustment but it improved greatly over my most recent ride so I think it just needed to be worked a bit. I could tell you guys do great service work. Really really appreciated the fact that you threw in a spring that I was missing to lock down the front tire, at no charge. I was very impressed. Will come back in future.

During this difficult time of stores being closed, Gateway Cycle was still open by appointment and one of the guys met me in the parking lot. They were willing to let me try out some different bikes. I already made up my mind I wanted an electric one but wasn't completely sure which one. Billy was helpful in letting me try different ones and was patient as I decided. Once I purchased the bike, the water bottle holder was left off (I had paid for one to be put on). I contacted Gateway and Troy came to our house and put it on the bike a few days later. He, too, was extremely nice and easy to work with. The only thing I would say is that if you aren't real familiar with bikes (like I wasn't), make sure you ask questions when you're taking the bike home. I didn't do that and I found myself wondering about a lot of things once I got it home. I think the assumption is that you probably already know about bikes and will ask if you have questions. I should have spent more time when picking up the bike, but with the whole COVID thing, I really didn't want to hang around too long with questions. All in all, it was a great experience, the staff is super kind and helpful and I love my new electric bike!!

I recently purchased a new Trek bike and it couldn't have been easier. I was greeted outside by a very friendly and courteous member of their staff. They answered any and all questions I had and promptly returned with the bike I was looking for. After a test ride, I decided to add a bottle cage, kickstand and upgraded grips. Within 20 minutes I had my brand new bike ready and waiting for me. One big factor on buying here was their included annual tune up program. After visiting several other bike shops in the area we decided to check out Gateway Cycle and I am so glad we did. From the moment we walked in Kyle greeted us right away and even though he was helping someone else he acknowledged that we were there and said he would be with us in a bit. (True customer service)! We were looking for a bike for my wife and myself. Kyle was very helpful and showed her several different styles of bikes and even took the time to set them up for her before the test ride. Kyle was the first salesperson that we met in our bike search that seemed to care about more than just making money. He made sure it fit her and that it was comfortable. My wife was so happy because every other “bike shop” was pushy and rude and was not willing to explain anything. She liked that he took time and seemed interested in helping her as she wasn’t really sure what she was looking for. We ended up buying her a bike, a hitch rack, helmets for the kids and her, and accessories for her new bike! There was another guy there that helped me put together and install the bike rack and I do not remember his name but he was also a great help. Overall if you want amazing customer service and you want to work with people who care go to Gateway! We are now customers for life! Can’t wait to order my new bike (once I decide on color!)

Gateway let me know right away (within days) when one came in. It was reconditioned and ran like a knife through butter. Also, my Specialized Crossroads is 20 years old - it belonged to my father and I'm sentimental about it. Whenever something goes wrong, like needing a new chain, Gateway technicians get it running again at a reasonable cost (far less than bike shops closer to me.) I love this shop! The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to ride a handful of bikes & I never felt like I was being rushed or pressured to upgrade. Once I picked out a bike, it was fitted to me. He took the time to not only show me how to remove the wheel but to watch me remove and put it back on so I was comfortable doing it once I left the shop. He also installed a kickstand for me and explained to me why they're controversial (who knew?!) and assured me I could have one on my frame. If you buy a bike there you get free tune-ups (done during the winter) for the life of the bike. I couldn't find a better deal, and if I had, they would have matched the price!
